Had a great early Mother’s Day dinner here! I really enjoyed The Flame and my California Roll — both were delicious. The owner was kind, and I’m genuinely glad we chose this spot. I want to mention something unrelated to the food, and it’s not reflected in my rating. When I arrived, I brought my Service Dog with me and was initially told he wasn’t allowed inside. I explained he was a service dog, but was told it didn’t matter. I didn’t handle the moment as gracefully as I wish I had — I let my frustration get the better of me. That said, the staff was very kind afterward and apologized sincerely. It was an honest mistake, and I completely understand how it could happen. I don’t hold it against them, and neither should anyone else. I’m still giving a great review because the food, service, and overall experience were all wonderful. I just hope going forward, more people remember to ask whether a dog is a service animal before jumping to conclusions. He’s not a pet — he’s a trained medical device. And to the staff, if you see this — I’m sorry again for how I reacted. Thank you for your kindness. Photos included are not of the restaurant and as a reference for the staff and anyone confused by what they read.

Probably some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had… it’s worse than buffet sushi. The quality of fish was so sketchy for the maguro tuna I do not recommend ordering again. Service was great and people were friendly but will not come back again. $85 for two people for a really bad meal I hope I don’t get food poisoning.

Google
Still have never found a better California roll then the one from Sushi Tango. I wish I still lived near by. The staff is very friendly but the atmosphere is alittle chaotic. I have food allergies and have never had an issue the chefs have been knowledgeable.

Google
I would say this place is okay. I was a little disappointed with my visit here upon retrieving my initial order, but the chef was willing to make it right. I paid $16 for the shrimp 🍤 roll - not much there. I had it re-made & the second order was better tasting than the 1st. I can see they are a little understaffed and the building definitely needs upkeep. Trash in ladies room was full when I arrived there shortly after they opened and fixtures are all dusty. I believe it could turn into a great place but they would really need to do a deep clean and a little remodel.

Google
It was our first time and it was happy hour all day since it was a Monday. The tuna sashimi did tasted a bit fishy for me. Everything else was good. Price was reasonable. A good place to fix sushi cravings.

Google
I was a regular at their Uptown location. Eventhough its literally the same menu as the old location, their food just isn't the same. My favorite rolls to get are the flame and 9 1/2 roll. Highly recommend these two rolls if you ever make it out to Sushi Tango.

Google
Food is always good every time we come back. They have salmon larb now, a bit salty but the flavor is great - fresh salmon, refreshing herbs. Beef tataki and oysters are still good as we remember. Cucumber salad was good, not too much crab flavor but not too clean either. Love coming here every chance we have when back in town.

I came to Tango Sushi at the invitation of a good friend and colleague who has been coming here for years, and after my visit, I can understand why. The restaurant is unassuming, but welcoming and filled with an energy of positivity and personal flare. Don't let the looks fool you into thinking this is any old mall restaurant though... My experience was top-notch. The staff were helpful and polite, taking our order quickly and efficiently while maintaining a good balance of attentiveness and distance throughout the meal. The food was divine. The sushi was fresh, textures were perfect, and the flavors rich and thoughtful. At the suggestion of my friend, we had the sashimi dinner platter, frog leg soup, spicy octopus rolls, and tofu appetizers. Each dish was carefully prepared, beautifully arranged, and unique with a sense that it was made with love and care. I would highly recommend Tango Sushi for anyone looking to find high-quality sushi at affordable prices in a relaxed and comfortable environment. 💙

Yelp
Good job, Sushi Tango Team! My first time visiting this shop and based on my experience, I am shocked to see such a low current Yelp score (approx 3 star at time of writing). My daughter and I arrived around 7pm during a busy dinner service. Despite only having a couple servers working we were promptly greeted and quickly quoted a wait time for a two roll togo order. The server and chef took extra care to understand my food allergies and even double checked if my daughter also had food allergies. We were offered water and seats while we waited which was nice. The food came out at least as fast as quoted and was perfectly delicious when we made it home 10 minutes later. To my personal delight, my roll did not have any cross contamination with my allergens. The restaurant had a good vibe to it and I would like to do a dine in session sometime in the future.

Yelp
Great flavors, excellent service, nice décor - 4 stars. I happened to be in the area and I stopped by, on a whim, to get my sushi fix. I started things off with hot tea and Miso Soup. As my main course, I picked out 3 styles of tuna based sushi rolls. All of my food was good and bursting with flavors. The prices seem reasonable too, on par with similar sushi joints. I'd go back again any time. Thumb up! -Maxx

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of Sushi Tango! Their food is incredibly consistent - every visit is a delight. From the appetizers to the sushi rolls, everything tastes exactly as it should. I especially love their oyster shots and seafood larb. It's no wonder Sushi Tango has been a local favorite for years. The customer service is always top-notch. Wishing them continued success!

Yelp
One of my favorite sushi places. The food is amazing and taste is always consistent. The staff are friendly and attentive. Restaurant is clean. Food comes out pretty quick.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour sushi deals. Each dish has its own kicks and twist to it. Tuna takaki is one of my favorites you'll have to get. Vibes were good! Low lighting atmosphere, and service was quick.

Yelp
Try the agedashi tofu & soft shell crab with ponzu, these are some of our regular favorites!

Yelp
If you're looking for a sushi spot with a fantastic happy hour. Their happy hour offers great deals on a variety of fresh and delicious sushi rolls, making it the perfect time to indulge without breaking the bank. The service is impressively quick, ensuring you get your sushi fix without a long wait. Whether you're stopping by after work or catching up with friends, Sushi Delight's combination of quality, speed, and value makes it a must-visit. On Wednesdays they have $1.50 oysters!

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch and got just that! Was in and out in 20 mins, with quick service at the sushi bar. I wish someone would have pointed out the lunch specials, but I didn't see that so ended up with a simple roll, shrimp spring rolls and miso soup. Half the staff was very attentive, but there was someone that they were training that hindered the experience. I understand that they were learning, but I don't think they were ready to be in front of customers. Example: didn't know where the water pitcher was, didn't know how to fill up a customers glass, spilt water everywhere, didn't clean it up, waited for another waiter come clean it up. I'd stop back here for the spring rolls, not for the ambiance, but they do a good job! Not the best sushi, but pretty decent for a quick cheap lunch.

Yelp
The first time I had sushi tango, I met my husband here for a blind date. Fast forward to today, we are married with a baby boy. We are both very fond of this place. It had brought memories of joy, curiosity, and such new meaning. The day we went here, it was a random Tuesday night in February around 9:30pm. There was barely anyone there and I was already horrified I chose a bad place. Waiter came by, grabbed our orders and we just talked endlessly. Miso soup was perfectly balanced. The sushi's I ordered were fresh and tender. Rolls were creative and tasty. I don't think I had any bad entrees. My husband also said the food was perfect that night. We sat in my car after they closed and continue talking the night away. We loved our first experience there. 5/5 As we kept coming back, we gotten to know sushi chef Ace and fell more in love with how he prepares our sushi's. Reminds me of Bay Area sushi down in TX. A great MN escape.

Yelp
Visited Sushi Tango Woodbury on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy at the time so it took about half a minute to be seated which was no problem. There were not a lot of servers working so the people working were very busy. Luckily, this was no issue for us as we had time to relax and eat! We ordered 3 different rolls, the Vegas roll, the scorpion and another roll (I can't remember the name). I typically like spicier sushi so I thought these rolls would give me that spice. In addition to the sushi we also got some veggie egg rolls. The egg rolls were ok but nothing too special. The sushi looked great but overall didn't have much flavor. For that reason I am giving this restaurant a 3.

Yelp
Last week I ordered takeout from Sushi Tango twice! The first time was good, so I had to go back. In comparison to other sushi restaurants in the twin cities, I feel like the offer a more limited amount of rolls. There is still variety, but not as many creative or out-of-the-box things to try. However, their menu has many dishes other than sushi! The portion sizes were on par with what I expected. I wasn't blown away by the value. The raw fish did taste FRESH, which is a key indicator of good sushi. The employees were all super nice and friendly when I was inside to pick up my takeout. Both times they confirmed that I had enough soy sauce, which I consider to be above and beyond what I've experienced elsewhere. I would rate Sushi Tango as my 2nd favorite sushi restaurant in MN. It's closer than my first favorite so I'll be visiting waaaay more often. Hooray for decent sushi whenever I feel like it! A note: on one of my takeout orders, I was accidentally given a tuna roll instead of a spicy tuna roll. It's a small mistake and since there were no allergy concerns AND the roll was still good, I'm not docking any stars. Just an FYI!

Yelp
I have not had sushi here since I lived in Woodbury. My man was shopping at Cabelas and asked if I wanted takeout NYE dinner. Duh! My tradition has always been sushi takeout and a bottle of wine for the past 15 years and they helped continue our tradition! We had spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls. Dragon roll. Crunchy roll and spicy Mexican roll. All fish was fresh and most rolls were 8 pieces! I was full. He also got wontons and egg rolls. I liked the wontons. The cream cheese was garlic flavored. I did not try the egg rolls but he was a fan, they were pork and crispy with fish sauce. They gave him a complimentary beef mushroom ramen to try. The beef was tender and the broth was heavenly and salty. Yum! I will continue to support. Made our new years tradition tasty!

Yelp
When we first arrived, there were tables already taken by a couple larger groups. We noticed the chalkboard stating to expect a 15 minute table service, and we were ok with that. But it was kind of weird to walk in and not be greeted by anyone. We felt like we were being stared at by everyone who was there, like we were in the wrong place... someone asked us if we had reservations and we said no, and then was told they'll help us out.... Someone walked in after us from outside and said she'll seat us soon. Looks like she might've been just starting her shift. Again, she asked if we had reservations, and we said no, and wondered if we were suppose to make reservations. She said no, but they were expecting reservations later... We weren't led to our table, but was told where to sit, by a finger-point and instructions to help ourselves to the high chair we needed for our baby, so... ok, no problem.... It didn't seem that busy, as the groups seemed to already have been taken care of and were just enjoying their meal. But as noted on their chalkboard, from that point on, we expected the 15 minutes to be waited on, but unexpectedly, it was less than that. We also expected our food to take longer, but surprisingly, it came out pretty quickly, as well. We got the Vegas roll and the Crunchy roll, shrimp udon soup, and seafood laab. The sushi tasted fine. Nothing mind blowing. I did really enjoy the crunch in the Vegas roll. The seafood laab was tasty. It had the perfect blend of herbs and spices. The udon soup was just ok. It reminded me of the instant udon soup packs you can get at the store, but with added veggies in the soup. All in all, the ambience of the restaurant definitely felt rushed, and I'm not sure if I'll ever choose to go back for the food. This place lacks professionalism in service that could've helped with the rating, but maybe it was just tonight as they were expecting other groups and needed to make space...

Yelp
The wait was a tad long, but it was absolutely worth it and we came in when there was only one sushi chef working. Everything we got in our group was phenomenal, and our 7 month old had a blast too. Best sushi in Woodbury
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Popped in here for dinner. Service was AMAZING! Everyone was so kind and we were greeted immediately. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and lots of people came to check on us. Definitely recommend the Cream Cheese Wontons and the sauce they came with. This miso was a little too salty but still overall good. The only reason this was a 4 star and not a 5 is because the table was slightly sticky and the sushi was fairly mediocre. Other than that it was good and seriously the service makes it all worth it!!! (Everything was also plated wonderfully, looked so pretty.)
google avatar

Yelp
Great food luckily! This helped make up for it taking forever for it to come out. They were apparently slammed with to go orders...
google avatar

Felicia S.

Yelp
I heard about their $1 oysters on Wednesdays and decided to check it out. I expected oysters in their normal shells but the spoons were a nice surprise. I liked the sauces they were in even though the less spicy ones were just Tabasco, I especially liked the spicier ones. The mussels weren't the best they had a bad smell and taste all together wouldn't recommend. The sushi was sushi lol idk what else to say, they were good. I remember one of my friends saying the shrimp noodles were something they could make at home so nothing special about that.
google avatar

Leigh B.

Yelp
Need good sushi now? Sushi Tango has got you covered. No frills or gimmicks, just good food, good drinks, good service. I like that they still do take out - it's so convenient and great for when I'm not feeling the most social. The 9 1/2 roll is my fave of the moment, but it's honestly hard to go wrong. Solid restaurant all around.
google avatar

Yelp
It's been years since I've been back here. People still rave about this place after almost 10 years. I had to come back to check it out because every where I went in Minnesota, the sushi is bad and I thought I might get good sushi here. Long story short. They still suck. Still very bad service. They have tons of people working there, but not one can reach into the fridge and open a beer for me. My drink took 10 minutes to get. Sushi rolls are small and soaked with sauce so you can't even taste the rolls. Hamachi Kama was burnt. No one wants to eat burnt fish. The skin was not even crispy. I didn't expect the sashimi to taste fresh, but it was decent for not being near the ocean. Prices where high of course, and rations were small. Oh by the way, their oysters are canned oysters and probably retail at .10 cents a piece so they're making a killing selling them to you at $1 each. Although the hot pepper sauce they put on them is quite good.
google avatar

Benjamin A.

Yelp
Overpriced, sub-par service, sashimi was not at all fresh. It would be OK if you could get a couple of rolls for $10, but you pay $15-$20.

Vincent L.

Yelp
Haven't been to Sushi tango since their uptown location shut down. Wanted some sushi and have been contemplating for years if I should drive 30 minutes to Woodbury. I decided to give it a go and when I got there. The place looks run down. Ordered 2 sushi rolls and it was way too salty. I couldn't even eat it with soy sauce. My wife ordered the bulgogi. The meat was dry, thin, and mush when you bite into it. Food quality I would rate 0/5. My wife and I left completely dissatisfied we went somewhere else to eat right after. I absolutely loved their uptown location. During that time Sushi tango was my go to. Quality of food was higher. Quality of service and professionalism was higher. Cleanliness. A great place you'd want to take someone on a date night. It's sad to what Sushi tango has become. As far as the Woodbury location. I can't recommend eating here. Much better off going to an AYCE if you want sushi or any food in general.

Alth F.

Yelp
The experience here can be good or not so good. Last time I ate at Sushi Tango with my family we waited well over 1 hour to receive our food. It was a weekday and relatively empty. a few groups arrived at least 1/2 hour after we did and were served first! I really hate to say this but It became obvious that certain groups were being treated differently than we were. I tried to get the attention of the waitress and she saw me but decided to ignore me. Finally I approached the bar where she was chatting with another customer. I politely asked her what was taking so long - It was approaching 1 1/2 hours and groups that had arrived after us had already had their meal and left. She was rude to say the least and basically told me the food will come when it comes. I don't need to pay a good price for a family of four to be treated this way. We've recently had other not so good experiences at Sushi Tango - cold food, rice not served, mixed drinks arriving with the meal. As a Woodbury resident and long time customer I hate to say it but this is the straw that broke the camels back. We won't be returning.

Yelp
This place used to be decent.. The last couple times I've gone, the place wasn't very busy, so I thought we were in luck. The hostess nonchalantly showed us to the far back even though there were MULTIPLE open tables. The one time we sat there for 20 minutes and nobody even came to get an order, but passed us by several times. We walked out. This last time, we were pointed to just find a place "back there" by the hostess who didn't even give us a menu or ask us if we'd like something to drink. There were only 2 tables of people, but the server blew by and said it'll be 10-15 minutes before he could even get to us while the hostess sat up front playing on her phone. Again, we got up and left and will never go back. We went down the road to Osaka where we were seated and served promptly by a fantastic host and waiter

Yelp
-Salmon skin 5/5 & $4 during HH -Spicy tobiko 4/5 salad when it's made right & 2/5 when it's inconsistent. $10, not on HH menu -Seaweed salad 5/5: I enjoy the seaweed salad here because it doesn't taste grossly defrosted like how other places do it. I'm not sure if they have another way of defrosting it but it taste cleaner than most sushi restaurants I've been to -i would not recommend the nigiri Bc I feel like the fish isn't the freshest here. If u want quality fish, go elsewhere -agedashi tofu. Bland af 1/5 would not recommend This is my usual go to for happy hour. My favorite roll from here is the salmon skin roll. It's simple roll with asparagus and some veggies and salmon skin. I love it with the side of the ponzu/tataki sauce! Another favorite is a spicy tobiko salad. There are Romain lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, squid and topped with tempura flakes. I love the salad but every time I get it it's always inconsistent. One time it was made with iceberg lettuce, one time I didn't have cucumbers, and then when I went last night it wasn't drenched in the sauce like how it usually is. I don't even think they have Tobiko in it sometimes. Portion isn't that great either Service is ok. Tentative but you usually have to wave them down to get their attention

Yelp
First if all, I never give 4 stars unless they go over the top. I recently moved back to the Twin Cities after living in Hawaii and the San Francisco Bay Area. I would admit that I am a foodie and maybe a sushi snob. Taste, presentation, freshness, crunchiness, and the overall vibe. I must admit I was shocked at Tango sushis ability to do great on all levels. The hospitality and the environment were amazing. I will be back.

Bee V.

Yelp
DO NOT go here! My family made reservations here ahead of time. Got there, sat and waited for an hour and 30 min just to get salads. There were 4 different families/groups that came in after us who got served and ate and left before we even got our salads! We didn't even get our drinks so we had to go ask one of the workers. We ended up leaving after 2 hours of waiting because the waitress was being very rude and purposely avoiding our table. When we left, the manager had the audacity to tell us that it was not their fault? No apologies whatsoever. How does that make any sense? We've been coming to this restaurant for the last ten years and it has never been this BAD. Something happened to management and now I see why the Minneapolis location closed down. They need to do better! Lost some good loyal customers! I would rate 0 stars but was unable to post so 1 will do.

Yelp
Stopped up on our way home from Wisconsin. We were very impressed with this place. Food was fresh, atmosphere was welcoming and staff were super friendly. Lots to choose from on the menu! Staff constantly checked in on us over the course of the meal. Would recommend.

Yelp
Simple lunch menu gives you a nice variety of sushi rolls. Quick service and convenient location in Woodbury. Nice local sushi option with local ownership.

Yelp
All day happy hour on Monday!!! However it is not available for to-go orders! . Booooohooooo. I can accept this restaurant guideline. I stopped in last minute to pick up food to-go. I placed my order with the bartender. I ordered a few veggie rolls and vegetarian egg rolls. Noticing that the establishment was not very busy.... but somehow it took over 25 minutes for my to-go order. Again this order included 2 veggie rolls and 1 order of veggie egg rolls. My total was slightly over $18.00 for the 3 items. I will return on a Monday in the future to partake in the happy hour for dining in. I will not wait that long again for a to-go order. The happy hour menu includes various drinks, rolls, and appetizers. I believe the regular menu is overpriced.

Yelp
I love their spicy oysters and decided to try it out at the Woodbury location instead of the usual one I go to which is their uptown location. That was the worst mistake to think that one location would have similar qualities and taste as their other location. Woodbury location: 1) Very few servers on a busy happy hour night 2) Wait time for meal was an hour and food only arrived after flagging a server down 3) The spicy oyster that I always raved about to families and friends were awful. It tasted like washed up oysters that were not drained well with some added peppers to garnish. It was NOT spicy at all nor tasted good. I could not even finish it despite ordering only four oysters, HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. 4) I ordered a spicy salmon roll and no surprised that it was NOT spicy at all. In fact, the salmon meat itself was not even coated with their spicy sauce compared to their uptown location. Poor plate presentation as well with the salmon roll sloppily placed on the plate as if someone just finished cutting and just left it like that. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. 5) Extremely loud customers. You will not be able to hear someone sitting across from you in this restaurant during their busy hours. Overall, it's more like a bar versus a restaurant atmosphere. 6) Server got my order wrong and gave me double of the salmon roll. It might have been because it was so loud in there that she could not hear me properly. However, the only good thing that happened despite the error is she was understanding and gave the second roll on the house. At least the Woodbury location has some decent employee. I will never come to this location ever again.

Yelp
Garbage. We had to go to Wendy's for bacon burgers afterwards. I was excited for some happy hour sushi, but this was not worth the wait. Plus, I ate the worse sushi roll of my entire life, I wish I could take it back. Maybe I just went on the wrong day. It was Wednesday at 9pm, just when HH started, and they have $1 oyster specials on this night. The place was completely packed. There were spaces where they could have placed tables, but instead it was empty. Get more tables sushi tango people. The floors were soooo sticky. I felt grossed out whenever I moved. The sounds it makes and the feeling of getting stuck to the damn floor was disgusting. When we were finally seated the server took forever to come by. I'm sure the crabbiness I felt from hunger made this experience even worse. We had everything picked out by the time we sat since we had time to look. We watched two other tables, also with two guests, that sat after us get all of their dishes and finish eating before we got all of ours. We only got beef tataki, 8 oysters, and 3 rolls that came with 4 pieces each. The tables next to us had like 8 courses!! The oysters were tiny and drenched in ponzu. The beef tataki I did like. But wtf on the happy hour rolls. 4 pieces per sushi roll, most places you get the full roll with happy hour prices. I wasn't expecting the roll to be reduced too. That was shit, and the sushi rolls were not good. We had the spicy tuna, yellowtail, and dynamite roll. The pieces were all cut in different sizes. Flavorless on the tuna and yellowtail. Omg on the dynamite roll, this is the nastiest shit ever. They dunked it in some sort of fermented chili paste thing. It overwhelmed the roll and left a shit taste. I never ate shit before, but I'm positive this is what it would taste like. Never coming back.

Yelp
Expensive but mediocre quality. We came one afternoon for early dinner since I was craving sushi. I was glad that the menu was extensive and had a very good selection. We ordered a bunch of stuff and the quality was just very lacking. Started with the Tako salad $10, it was swimming in a pool of spicy mayo, couldn't even taste the octopus, or the lettuce. Next came the uni sushi $8, and the uni was just not very fresh. Then we had the sashimi lunch special $14 and this was a lot better. It came with a few pieces of tuna, albacore, bass and several pieces of my favorite white tuna. The tuna was kinda stiff, but the other 3 were pretty good. Then we got the rainbow roll $15, which was ok. Service was nice and friendly, although the food took awhile to come out. $70 and I wasn't even full. I was also charged $2 for a hot tea. The bathrooms are clean and parking is super easy. I would not recommend this place based on the quality for the food and the high prices.

C M.

Yelp
Good sushi. Nice service. The sushi chef was nice enough to make a special order roll. Overall, a nice time!

Tommy I.

Yelp
Hours on website and building indicate closed at 11pm, walk in at 8:50, told by service they're closed. Waste of a drive. Wendy's was a better option anyways.

Yelp
Sushi Tango is one of the better sushi restaurants in St. Paul/Woodbury. Some of my favorite dishes from this place is the tuna tataki, seafood salad, Ika tempura and the hamachi cheek. You can't go wrong ordering any one of these dishes. The fish isn't always fresh at this location but the reason why I gave it a 5 star is because everything else I listed above are delicious! They are the reason why I keep going back. If you've never been here I would totally recommend you to give it a try.

Luceli D.

Yelp
I was completely disappointed with Sushi Tango. I called ahead to make a reservation for a party of two, was told I didn't need to make a reservation. The place was pretty free. Upon arrival, my husband & I were told to sit down at any seat. We selected a table, we waited approximately 15 mins. We were not acknowledge at the time we sat down. They did not bring us no water nor the menus. There were 2 other parties in the restaurant. We decided to leave. The place was not busy at all, this was around 4:30pm on a Sunday. They saw us leave & didn't apologized for not serving us. I heard one of the girls at the bar tell another co-worker," it's okay if they leave". Extremely Disappointed with their service.

Phyllis L.

Yelp
We got take out sushi, pot stickers, seaweed salad, miso soup. Everything was average. I thought the sushi was a little above average. I think it was fresh fish. We would probably order from there again .

Grace S.

Yelp
Wouldn't go there if you want sushi past 9:30. The place says open till 11 but they do "last call" at 9:30.

Hannah X.

Yelp
Ordered 4 sushi rolls. Paid $50. Waited 1 hour & 20 minutes for the sushi chef to serve everyone eating inside before preparing our to-go order. Would have left except I already paid online. Definitely not worth the price or the wait time. Sushi rice is unseasoned (needs vinegar, salt, and sugar), so the sushi doesn't taste like anything except STRONG fish flavor. If you are looking for a restaurant with a bar and loud music, this is a good place for you. If you are looking for tasty food and good service, go somewhere else. We had to find the pick up counter on our own while wait staff asked us to move out of their way. Never asked if they could help us or what we needed. Staff at the pick up counter/kitchen area were polite and did apologize for the ridiculous wait time. All things considered, I will not be visiting again.

Yelp
Sushi Tango has the best sushi and accompanying appetizers in Minnesota. Our staples include the following, among other things: spring rolls, egg rolls, seaweed salad, gyozas, spicy oysters, crunchy rolls, and salmon skin rolls.

Yelp
Hmmm...I was a big fan of Sushi Tango (both the Uptown and the Woodbury locations) when I lived in the Twin Cities and they first opened (I wasn't even using Yelp back then). My friends--who ate a lot more sushi than I did--all said their sushi was fresh and delicious. I was a novice but I ate at both locations multiple times and agreed. It was some kind of food awakening; everywhere I've eaten sushi since (from Boston to San Francisco), inevitably, the rolls at Sushi Tango became my benchmark for comparison. Visits back to the Twin Cities always required a stop here for lunch or dinner with friends and family. Sushi Tango was a busy, vibrant business and one of my favorite restaurants to support in the Twin Cities. Unfortunately, like a lot of reviewers have already pointed out, the quality of the sushi has diminished and I don't know why. One roll was overly sweet and so different from what I remembered and have eaten before. Another had a key ingredient that was very close to spoilage...I could taste it in the back of my mouth and smell it in my nostrils. Maybe it was just an off-night for all involved. I hope so but based on the review trends, I'm not so sure. I realize that it's not fair to draw broad conclusions based on one bad dinner (especially when I've had so many great meals here) but the truth is, when you're the customer spending your money for food and service, there can be no off-nights by the chef or the support staff. With so many food options, people will take their hard-earned dollars elsewhere in the blink of an eye. But I support my people so the next time I'm in town, I will be back to see if this was an anomaly or the norm. Let it be former.

Yelp
You can only dine in after 3pm with a reservation. Making the reservation was easy. It took a while to get our food even though there were only 2 tables seated. Sushi was good but I was hoping it would be more flavor-able.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone down hill over the years. The food is often overpowered with sauce and the flavors are just imbalanced. The happy hour used to be great, but now it's just not impressive. I would recommend not coming to this place if you are in the mood for sushi. Service is hit or miss as well. If you go for dinner, expect the place to be super loud with obnoxious guests. I've gone a few times and the patrons at the bar are out of control, they also dip in and out of the back room so I can only assume they are regulars or associated with the staff.

Yelp
I looooove the fish laab. It always hits the spot. The fresh peppers have a really nice kick. Their sushi is always great and I recently tried their Udon soup! It is Devine!!!!

Yelp
The best and probably the only seafood laab I would order along with their $1 oysters.

Yelp
Came here on Saturday night with my hubby and daughter for a late dinner. We ordered sushi to share and some cream cheese wontons. The wontons were very oily inside and seem to need more draining or cooking. We ordered the California Roll, the Vegas, King Tut and the Spider. All were very tasty but our favorite one was the Vegas. Very tasty with the tempura on the outside, crunchy outside, juicy inside. We ended up ordering more of the Vegas and California. We liked the fact they offer soybean wrap for an extra fee on any roll. My daughter has issues with the typical seaweed, nori wrap and this allows her to be able to enjoy sushi now. Only drawback was the oily wontons. We will stop again, soon

I absolutely love this place! If you're looking for great sushi and food to eat make sure to come here! I loved their oyster shooters too!
