13 Hottest New Restaurants to Check Out in Savannah, November 2024

"Sushi-Thai’s name makes a simple promise and delivers. Like its sister restaurants in Naples, Sushi-Thai Savannah’s vast, culturally meandering menu is an asset rather than a curse; it manages to do it all and do it well. Enjoy crispy whole snapper, short rib massaman, nigiri boats, and Savannah’s introduction to the Japanese shaved ice dessert, kakigori." - Kiki Dy

Google
Can’t say enough about this place. Beautifully presented and well prepared in a timely manner. No issues at all. Wish I lived in this area. Arrived at 430 so no crowd and no rush. It did get busy about 515 but still great timely service. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in some time. A must do in Savannah

Payne Hendrick

Google
I have not consumed one item that I did not enjoy. They have delicious options and a great atmosphere. Every staff member is professional and very hard working. Can’t suggest this place enough.

Google
Great service and the sushi was incredible! It was beautifully plated and the rolls were bigger than we expected them to be. Definitely worth the price!

Google
We had an incredible experience with Sushi Thai. I had been coordinating with the restaurant for a while regarding a carryout sushi order. We ordered many rolls and they displayed them beautifully for us on these platters. They included all the toppings and sauces that we could need and were incredibly kind, helpful, and gracious. I would recommend Sushi Thai to anyone - especially if you are looking for a special sushi dinner!

Google
This restaurant is amazing, and is right across the street from my boyfriends apartment, which we found lovely! We come here very often and we always have a great time on this place, they offered a big menu, which includes Thai food and also sushi options and other items. Everything I’ve tried on this place is super tasty, they have good quality on food and the staff is always super nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice, the restaurant recently open, so it’s on great conditions.

Google
If you’re in Savannah and craving an unforgettable meal, Sushi Thai is an absolute must-visit! From the moment I walked in, the service was impeccable — friendly, attentive, and quick. The portions are generous, ensuring you won’t leave hungry, and each dish is bursting with authentic flavors. The sushi was fresh and expertly crafted. The Thai dishes were equally impressive, with the perfect balance of spices and freshness. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both sushi and Thai cuisine, but Sushi Thai does it effortlessly. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-notch food and exceptional service!

Google
This was hands down the best food I've had in a while. We started with the tuna crispy rice which was excellent!! After that, I got the Maguro Fuji roll as it was one of their best sellers. It was wonderful! For dessert, I got a mango slush with honey boba and lychee jelly to go. This place is absolutely fantastic and the service was excellent. If I lived here, I'd be here every week! Highly recommend!

Google
Food and service are PHENOMENAL! Also A+++ to the staff. I had misplaced my phone and they went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND looking for it. Really appreciate every single one of you. I will be recommending this fantastic restaurant and its amazing and friendly staff to EVERYONE!

Yelp
We ate here last night and it was amazing. I ordered the Drunken Noodles and a spicy Salmon Roll and I would highly recommend. My friend ordered the veggie roll and the avocado roll and she said the veggie roll was one of the best she has ever had. Our waiter was attentive and kept our drinks full while we were there. We plan to go again this trip - it's that good!

Yelp
Inviting and friendly welcome is always a nice start. I ordered chicken pad Thai which is my favorite Thai dish! Let me tell you this is the best I've ever eaten! My only negative is that I don't live in Savannah so I can't eat here more often! Give them a try when in the area!

Yelp
Omg!! This place is sooo delicious!! Superb Service and Food!! It was 5 of us and we each ordered a different plate and we absolutely enjoyed our food and drinks. GG was our waitress and she did wonderful along with our Host Mint! We highly recommend this place so much we will definitely come back here when we come to visit again!! The place is so nice good ambiance and spacious with good soft listening music.

Yelp
New Spot in Town, and it was not bad. A solid 7/10. The place itself it a little confusing, it almost a cafe/ restaurant. Well renovated. Their menu is extensive and has plenty of options to pick from. The service was quick and great! The food itself was almost perfect. I would recommend to check them out for a quick meal if you want Asian food.

Yelp
If you're a sushi lover, Sushi Thai is an absolute gem! The presentation was next level--it came in this "yacht," as we called it, almost too beautiful to eat (but trust me, we did!). From fresh, melt-in-your-mouth sashimi to perfectly rolled specialty rolls, every bite was bursting with flavor. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just getting started, this place is a must-visit! The service was top notch and I can't wait to come back!!!

Yelp
Great Sushi. Beautiful atmosphere. Many selections to choose from. Extensive dessert list. Vast selection of desserts. Med to high price range. Very different for our area. A refreshing change for a Sushi and Thai experience together. Love Love the place. Our 1st time dining @ this Establishment and for lunch. Over and Out FranknKimm October 18th, 2024 Friday

Yelp
I ordered something to go here, so I didn't get the full experience. However, when I arrived, they were very friendly, asked if I wanted something to drink while I waited, and chatted with me. My meal was ready to go about 15 minutes after I ordered it, so it was very quick. I got a lobster roll and thought it was very good.

Yelp
I ordered delivery from Thai-Sushi Savannah while staying at a hotel nearby. Green curry is one of my go-tos and it's a good litmus test for Thai places IMO. My only complaint is that I paid $6 extra to add veggies in my tofu curry. That's fine with me if they load up on the veggies, but they did not. I opted for broccoli and cabbage. There was zero cabbage and 3 or 4 broccoli florets. If I'm paying for inexpensive ingredients, then please be generous. Other than that, the curry was enjoyable. Spice level was good (I ordered hot and it was totally tolerable).

Yelp
Amazing food, incredible service and great ambiance! Our party of 5 were seated right away and Sung, our server, was incredibly hospitable :) I highly recommend this eatery hands down!

Yelp
So I've been hearing wonderful things about this place for several weeks but I was taking my time to check it out. Well I stopped by today with friends and I hate that I waited so long to taste their food! As soon as you walk in you're greeted by a friendly face. There are lots of options for seating and I appreciate that when they aren't busy they allow you to pick your own seat. The bar is fully stocked if you're in the mood for a drink but I was here solely for the food. I ordered the pad Thai with fried tofu, one guest had the Thai fried rice and the other person in the group had the tonkatsu ramen. All of us were beyond satisfied with our food. I ordered medium spice and it was very much mild but with the chili oil they bring to your table prior to the arrival of your food, I was able to add as much spice as I wanted. The overall vibe is very inviting. Extremely spacious, lots of seating options, and 3 different bars to choose from. And most importantly plenty of choices of menu items, there is something for everyone here. 10/10

Yelp
Great food and service. Come with that hollow leg if you want to have room for one of their Japanese desserts! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave me a helpful suggestion to (sadly) not take a kakigori to go. I'll get one next time. They also found me some gluten-free soy sauce for my sushi. Tom Kha soup with chicken - this was actually a relatively large bowl! At one point I tried keeping it aside to take home, but our mains were taking too long. If good food is sitting next to me, I will eat it! Crab Rangoon - my friend ordered these. They came out looking crispy! When you break it open, you'll see the crab in it people! None of this load of cream cheese with the essence of crab with these. Chicken pad thai - my friend also ordered this. It was a large helping that had to be taken home as leftovers. He said it was delicious! Hot Mama Roll - This was my entree. Let me tell you. That jalapeño on top graduated from the spiciest school at the top of her class because good-ness! I love spicy but I could not do half of them I just took them off and enjoyed the roll as is. Unfortunately we both were too stuffed for dessert, so that'll be me next time!

Yelp
Food was great! We were a little worried about the authenticity and quality of the sushi/thai as it is located in the downtown "touristy" area. But it exceeded our expectations! The staff was friendly and gave recommendations!

Yelp
I love the opening of the restaurant, it's clean and easy to see with a modern but still classic look. Our server was nice and so were the other employees in the building (we were checked on my many people). The food took about 20 minutes to comes out but it was very fresh and we had no complaints. My spicy beef pad Thai wasn't spicy enough but I added what I needed to and the flavor was on point. The surf and turf roll is huge and it was amazing I would definitely order that again. I'm not a big fan of thick cut sashimi so I didn't even try it but it was definitely fresh. The silverware and glasses were clean and the whole restaurant gets 5 starts from me.

Yelp
This place quickly became my favorite sushi spot in Savannah because when I say I want sushi, I want it done like this! They have some traditional roles that you get at most places, and some unique to sushi-Thai, but what takes these rolls to the next level is how fresh they are. I e never had dynamite topping on any sushi that tasted like the ingredients it was made of! The taste reminded me of sushi I would get back in Boston, and I appreciate the attention to detail with the presentation, taste and customer service (thank you Alfred!) Inside is also pretty unique. There is a dining area, a bar, a sushi bar, and a third "bar" that's mainly desserts! Very cool. I'd say the prices are worth it, and I hope the same level of food quality is maintained as it makes its mark as being a Savannah staple.

Yelp
My husband & I lived in Savannah for 2 years and recently came back to visit for a long weekend. Our friends were raving about this new Thai place that opened downtown, so naturally we had to go. I'll start by saying the food was very, very good. Everything tasted fresh and they had generous portions. My favs were the Tom Kha Soup, Tonkutsu Ramen & Falcon Roll. Pricing seemed a little high, but honestly was comparable to the rest of downtown. The reason I'm leaving off 1 star was for the speed of service. We arrived for a 7pm reservation & didn't get all of our food until 8:45pm. We understood the restaurant is new & the staff are still adjusting to the flow of a busy Saturday night, but it shouldn't have taken almost 2 hours for a party of 8 to get their meals. I hate being picky about wait times, but our friends had a babysitter waiting at home. One positive was that the staff was extremely friendly & apologetic. Overall, I'd go back for the food, but maybe give them some time to figure out the opening kinks.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Sushi-Thai Savannah. The food, service, and atmosphere are all amazing. Sushi-Thai is located on Broughton Street. It is next door to the newly opened the Baked Bear. There is plenty of street parking all around. But there is also the court parking garage a block behind if you would prefer. The space when walking in is inviting with white and blue hues. There are multiple options for seating. Including three bar options, each is for a specific purpose. The menu, or I should say menus. It is lot of food to choose from. The name of the restaurant has sushi first, but there are many options on the menu. There is something for everyone here. I also enjoyed that they had bubble teas and fun dessert options. Some could also be make diary free which I also appreciated, just ask your server. I got the crispy rice and spicy tuna appetizer. It was plated beautifully and was delicious! My entree was the pad see ew with shrimp. It was excellent too. Our server was attentive yet not invasive. He made sure we had what we needed. My friend has a severe gluten allergy. He was listened to her which was important with don'ts for her food. When he had a question about her allergy he asked to be sure. I appreciated this greatly. Our food was served in a timely manner. And our water cups were refilled promptly. I will be back to try a bubble tea to go! But I will also be back for lunch or dinner most definitely.

Yelp
Excellent sushi, roomy restaurant, great customer service, but the lemonade was $4 and not even from scratch.

Yelp
Sushi Thai was amazing! It seems a bit simple at first glance but I am so glad we went! It was conveniently located in the downtown area, had tons of great options for my partner who doesn't eat sushi, and delicious sushi for me! We were so impressed! I ordered the chef's choice, wonton soup and side salad and I oved it all! My partner ordered a shrimp and chicken dish with peanut sauce and loved it. Enjoy!
google avatar

Dakota W.

Yelp
When I say everything was I amazing I mean everything. The portions are huge. The sushi was fresh. The ambiance was top tier and so was our waiter. The snapper fried perfectly. I definitely will be spinning the block and returning. I had such and amazing birthday experience. The staff were all amazing.
google avatar

Avery C.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. Not only do they have great food, but great staff. I was accidentally double charged last time I was there and the manager more than made up for it, and even gave me a bubble tea on the house, which was the best I have ever had. I've had a few rolls and their pho and everything I've ever had has been amazing. I don't know how to spell the managers name, but she was so sweet. I'll be back very soon!

Yelp
What a cute new little spot in town! I think the best part of this place is the boba tea and the Japanese dessert options. The servers are so attentive and caring as well. The food was average, not bad but not the most amazing thing we've eaten for the price point. Not pictured, we had the gyoza fried. Tasted super fresh! The ramen was very flavorful and the fried rice was PACKED with veggies but a little plain. The brown sugar milk tea and the lychee peach fruit tea were both great, just a little sugary so I'd definitely get light ice and sugar. And I am a biiiiit particular about my boba, it's what really makes or breaks a boba spot for me, the honey tapioca pearls here were PERFECT!!
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Food was great and large portions. (Definitely could have split one dish.) Great flavor! Staff was attentive and kind. Inside was clean, new, and very inviting. Thank you Mint for coming to the table and explaining the spices. I highly recommend this new place on Broughton Street.

Yelp
Amazing service. A nice clean place. Have been twice and was not disappointed. Sushi rolls are very large compared to other places in town. Dessert is great and fresh

Yelp
Best place ever. The staff made our experience 10/10, they're truly the sweetest people. Our waiter was super attentive and when some orders got backed up due to how busy it was getting, multiple staff members updated us on our food constantly which was incredibly nice of them. We also brought a birthday cake for a friend and planned on just cutting it ourselves later on but the staff was kind enough to put candles on the cake, light it and carry it out themselves while singing "happy birthday" as well as bring over an amazing watermelon dessert (free of charge)! The food overall was incredible, service was great and the location is super pretty and clean. We plan on coming back here with more friends!! If there's any place that deserves the hype, it's this place.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a friends birthday. It was her pick. None of us had been yet and were were blown away! The space itself is so clean and welcoming and modern. The flatware and plates were not basic restaurant blah but nice substancial and modern. The service was perfect. Knowledgeable of their menu our server explained the answers to our inquiries in expert detail. The food is amazing. The menu is extensive. We can't wait to come back many more times so we can work our way through the menu. There is something for everyone. Hands down our best Thai restaurant in Savannah! Highly recommend. We were there in the day for lunch ( and they do have specials) but am looking forward to going for dinner to check out the vibe and more of the dinner menu. Kudos!!

Yelp
Stumbled across this gem while spending the day in Savannah. Food was delicious. The fried rice was both a little bit sweet and smoky. We also had sushi, pad Thai and drunken noodles. Everything was fresh, flavorful and plated well. They were also super friendly, which we appreciated. Please Note: no lunch menu on weekends and gratuity is auto added (didn't love that), so keep that in mind if you go on the weekend during typical 'lunch hours.'

Yelp
Came here on our first night in Savannah, GA. It wasn't busy as it was about an hour before closing. So we were sat fairly quickly. The server was very friendly. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and set up. It is very spacious and can seat a large amount of people. They have a rather large menu, and some of the options can get pricey. We ordered a steamed gyoza appetizer, Tonkotsu ramen, and two rolls: JB Tempura roll and Pascale roll to share. The gyoza was perfectly steamed and not overcooked, the filling had great flavor and the dipping sauce was delicious. It came with 5 pieces. The ramen broth was delicious and flavorful. We added some chili oil for added spice. The pork was good, not the best we've ever had but also not the worst. The plus is that they gave us a generous amount of it. The two rolls were very fresh and tasty. The Pascale roll was extremely fresh and looked beautiful. The JB tempura roll was my favorite of the two. It was coated in tempura batter without being "cakey", it had a good crunch. My only complaint is that I wish it came with some more eel sauce.

Yelp
I am sitting in this restaurant for the second time in 12 hours!!! ITS THAT GOOD!!!! The service! The food!!! *Chefs kiss*. This is my first time in Savannah and this place is embedded in my mind!!!! I have yet to find a place a Thai place in Houston that holds a candle to this!! Luna, Luna is a gem of a person! So sweet! Funny!! Warm!! She takes pride in this place and that's excellent!!! It makes you want to patronize a place when they express that they want you there! I want to pick up the entire establishment staff and all and move them to Houston on!!! Items ordered for reference: Cashew Nut Ginger Sauce Hot mama sushi roll

Yelp
Sushi- Thai has amazing service, food, and ambience. The menu has SOO many options sushi bar, hot plates, poke, boba, drinks and more. A meal for everyone! Our server was attentive and kind. Everyone at the table loved their food, it was authentic and fresh. The portions are amazing for the value. As a collective we agreed this is the best Thai food in Savannah along with some we have tried across the US- as authentic and greasy as the meals had in Thailand. Ambiance is laid back yet also chic and clean. It's great for casual dining and/or special occasions. We had the chance to speak with Sung & Mint (family owners) they told us their family history and dedication to each location. It's refreshing to have a new addition to Savannah who puts service at the forefront of their business along with the best quality and love through their food. We can't wait to be back to enjoy many meals and celebrate with fantastic hospitality.

Yelp
This place is so good. Brand new and well worth a visit! We had a some sushi and it was fantastic. Also had the Bingsoo for dessert and it was delicious and perfectly flavored. The service was exceptional- checked on us and made sure we were happy with our food and didn't need. Anything else. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
The food is authentic and fresh and plated beautifully. The service was amazing. Very friendly polite and knowledgeable about each dish. The atmosphere was clean and simple modern.

Yelp
Our new favorite place! Food=Out of those world. Service= Excellent Ambiance= Just right! Kid friendly!

Nina S.

Yelp
Do not sleep on this place! It is absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Very clean and cute place too. We will most definitely be back!

Beverly T.

Yelp
Stopped by for late dinner and the food here is absolutely amazing!! I have had sushi all across the US and this place is right at the top of my expectations. The Thai food is very tasty as well and it's great to see a menu that accommodates various dish options for those that don't eat sushi. Service was outstanding and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The owners couldn't be more accommodating and very pleasant and personable. This place is a gem we look forward to coming back when in town again.

Emily R.

Yelp
First time I went a few weeks ago ordered one role and some dumplings- not great but it was busy. Tonight - ordered three of their special roles and sashimi - each was horrible it it's own way - the tuna...the tuna...bright neon bright red with absolutely no taste. I don't know what it was - scary looking and tasteless I have no idea why a sushi place would serve tuna that could glow in the dark. It was so bad I threw out $100 worth of sushi and made myself a peanut butter sandwich. If you love sushi think twice.
google avatar

Erika N.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place! My husband and I came on a Sunday night around 6:30pm. We were seated right away and the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed. Enjoyed the music station they had playing. We ordered the krab ragoon, wonton soup, surf and turf roll, and Tanzano roll. Everything was phenomenal. Surf and turf is fulfilling, but so delicious! Sadly, we left no room for dessert! But maybe next time! Sorry no pictures provided my friends, I was starving and living in the moment!

Yelp
The staff here are amazing! They all were so friendly, attentive, and approachable. My family was craving Asian food and this place was the perfect place because they had a little bit of everything we were looking for. We started off with the garden salad, tom yum miso, and the wonton soup-- all were great. Then, we ordered the sea bass. Which was good but not the best thing we had that evening. My parents thought it was a little salty. Nevertheless, we ordered the black dragon roll, panang curry (w/ tofu), sushi mori plate, as well as the lady finger plate. ALL were delicious! Seriously hit the spot. The inside was very clean and spacious. We had the best servers too. I must shout out, Mint, Shorty, GG, and Benny. Will definitely come again if ever in the area. Thanks, to them, again for the great experience!
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Exceptional food! Many options available, so there's really something for everyone. Everyone in my party loved their dishes. Service was excellent, and the decor was modern and clean. Can't say enough great things about this place. I'll be coming here regularly for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious Thai food in downtown Savannah. The Pad See Ew with crispy tofu was very good, although it could have had a few more greens other than broccoli. The service was friendly and prompt.
google avatar

Chau L.

Yelp
A must try if you're in Savannah! This is a new restaurant that we were lucky enough to try on our visit and had the gyoza, chicken satay, miso soup, and Tom Yum noodle soup and everything came out amazing! Most fusion places are usually good with one type of cuisine, not all but we loved everything! For dessert we got taro milk tea with honey boba, Butterfly lavender lemonade, matcha milk tea with red beans and the matcha shaved ice with red beans. Definitely coming back here when we visit again.
google avatar

Shauna W.

Yelp
The service was great, Atmosphere was nice and i loved the food. I loved our waitres.

Yelp
I was desperately craving some great sushi while visiting Savannah and I am so glad I chose Sushi-Thai. First, it was Saturday night and the ambiance was perfect! Not overly noisy and beautifully lit up. We ordered chicken fried rice for the kids and it was hot and delicious with a very generous portion. My husband and I split the big daddy roll and it may have been one of the best sushi rolls we've ever tried. I also ordered the sashimi appetizer and it was very fresh and tasty. I wasn't a huge fan of my drink as I do not prefer my milk teas overly sweet but the waitress was so kind and allowed me to switch the drink out for something else. Overall I grade this place a 9.5/10 for food, service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! We ended up visiting three nights in a row and everything from appetizers to sushi to noodles was an 11/10. The sushi was clean and the specialty rolls were amazing, and the depth of flavor in the noodle dishes was second to none. Alfred, Luna, Paul, and Toto went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the service was some of the best we've ever had. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and thought out from the lighting to the silverware and glassware; the ambiance is relaxed, elegant, and comfortable all at the same time. You HAVE to visit if you're in Savannah...the entire menu is sure to please!
google avatar

Frankie L.

Yelp
Food was good. Had no left overs. Only thing I'll say is some stuff was a little pricey is all. Service was good besides getting soy sauce spilled on my toes. Vibes in there is chill and good music. Check it out if you're craving Asian cuisine!
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
Food service and the ambience we're fabulous. We started with the Geza and have the chicken red curry spicy. Just enough for two people we will be back.

Yelp
Ordered thru UberEats. Took a long time to deliver because driver said they took long with the boba drink. I ordered Oolong Milk Tea with Crystal Boba and Egg Pudding but got a completely different drink, not what I wanted but it taste good! Got the poke bowl and it was really good! Would hopefully visit soon.

Yelp
love this place! food is great and the Sushi is amazing... comfortable bar chairs which is a plus.

Yelp
It was my first time here and I was excited to try them out. The prices are a bit expensive for a lot of the sushi and dinner plates as well as desserts. We started with the chicken wing appetizer with sweet chili sauce that was $15 for about 6 chicken wings. I ordered the red dragon roll $18 and the Hot mama roll $20 my husband ordered the SS Hawaii Fried rice $25. Our waiter was really nice and took care of us. My sushi was good but nothing extraordinary and my husband's dish contained curry but they put so much it overpowered all the other ingredients like the actual rice flavor and shrimp and chicken. He could not continue to eat it after a couple bites and I tasted it and was immediately grossed out by the flavor. Overall the establishment is nice and clean inside and the ambiance is nice but I feel the prices are a bit high. There are many great sushi spots near by that are less expensive and great!

Josie W.

Yelp
Loved this place from start to finish. Our waitress was great and the hostess couldn't have been nicer/quicker for a busy Friday night. The tofu pad see ew was perfect, my fave dish forever Highly recommend for anyone visiting Savannah!!!
