Mission Hill Sushi Restaurant Opens on Tremont Street | Eater Boston

"Located at 1562 Tremont St. near Brigham Circle on the border of the Fenway neighborhood, this newcomer in Mission Hill is run by RunHua Zhu, who brings about six years of sushi experience. The menu is extensive, with a la carte two-piece sushi and three-piece sashimi options, appetizers like avocado salad and miso soup, several entrees, sushi don bowls (including yellowtail and eel), and a wide selection of both simple and signature maki rolls. Lunch specials are budget-friendly — five- or nine-piece chef’s choice for about $9.50–$12, a 16-piece sushi and sashimi combo for $14.95, and maki roll combinations from $8.50 to $12.25 — while party specials range from 12 to 30 pieces and include miso soup. It joins other Tremont Street establishments such as Flann O’Brien’s, the Puddingstone Tavern, Tremont House of Pizza, and J.P. Lick’s, and is open Monday–Thursday 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m., and Sunday 4–9 p.m." - Dana Hatic

I’d say it’s OK and one of the better sushi places in Boston that we’ve tried. Everything was quite fresh and tasted good. Staff were very polite and friendly, and they finished the order pretty fast too! Shop has two flights of stairs to get to, so not accessible to all. It’s a small quaint shop that’s decorated inside with interesting colourful Lego pieces around the shop.

Really cute place, great variety for a small business owned by a really cute couple. I usually get their salmon pop rolls and salmon don! Show them some love and check them out! ☺️

I used to come here once/week or at least once every two weeks back when I worked 'round the way. Both then and now, they deliver high grade sushi for an affordable price in a competitive/expensive area. I apologize for not taking photos of the food, which was a lunch special of 3 rolls, (Alaska, Tuna and Spicy Tuna). It was definitely enough food to hold me over well into dinner time and I'm a big boy. The atmosphere has changed a bit in my two-year absence. It's designed for lunch dates and whatnot now. I miss the street-facing bar. It was hands-down the best people-watching spot on Tremont Street and on this occasion, I was next to a television with some Keanu Reeves movie playing. Quite a downgrade. For much of the day, Sushi today is a one-man operation, which I totally respect and for that reason, I am impressed that my food arrived within twenty minutes, though I would not recommend going here, or getting sushi in general for that matter, if you are pressed for time. It seems like business isn't doing so hot. Barely anyone arrived for pickup or sitdown and I was there during the lunch rush. I am rooting for Sushi Today. I'll visit again within a year for what should be quality sushi.

This was my first time visiting Sushi Today. It was a cute little place! Love the umbrellas concept inside the restaurant and good service and how they tied the umbrellas into part of their rolls. I liked how they want their customers to interact with them by leaving sticky notes on sections of the restaurant and I also liked how they had small sized games like Jenga for customers to play while they are dining or waiting for their food. They would be a higher rating if they had more of a selection and more of a variety of Rolls especially if Sushi Today offered more cooked sushi rolls. The only cooked roll I had was the Sweet Potato Roll and it didn’t taste as hot and fresh as I’ve had it at other sushi restaurants. Overall I had a good experience the pricing was fair.

$14 for a salmon poke bowl that was mostly white rice. Bizarrely, it had canned peaches and tomatoes and was swimming in sauce. Not going back.

Small local spot for sushi. Online order was ready on-time and correct. Sushi itself was good quality. Good for basic rolls and quick bite or takeout.

I ordered veggie special sushi and red bean crepe cake. The food was tasty enough. The red bean cake was way too overpriced for the quantity and the taste. The slice was much smaller than regular cake slice and tasted just average.

I love this little spot for lunch! The maki combo is an amazing deal- I get the one that comes with 2 rolls and a miso soup. It’s cozy, the people are friendly, the sushi is good, and I always leave feeling like I got an amazing bargain!
