Probably one of the best sushi bars in Chicago, no wonder they have more than 1000 review. Absolutely worth coming over and over again, great atmosphere, great food, great service with a big smile, reasonable price, indefinitely, high quality.

Sushi Tokoro offered a largely pleasant first visit, with its classic decor, excellent service, and carefully prepared Japanese dishes. along with the convenient checklist ordering My main concerns are the restroom's cleanliness, specifically the dirty floor and faulty toilet door, and the miso soup, which was quite bland and lacked ingredients. Overall, I had a positive experience.

Good price for lunch AYCE sushi, but the sushi was just okay. I ordered mostly nigiri because I don’t like a lot of sauce drowning the taste of the actual fish. My friend ordered some rolls. The fried scallop appetizer was good. They gave us complimentary kimchi, which was… not good at all and tasted old? Service was great though.

It was surprisingly good, especially yaki iika, squid and tofu nigiri and their spider rolls for ayce lunch $19.95. 👍😌🫶🥳

My go to sushi place always so nice and attentive. She’s the sweetest definitely recommend coming here my favorite is the fancy salmon and chicken tempura

Overall it was a pretty good experience. This is easily my go-to spot in the city despite it being a 30 minute commute one way for me. Reasons to go here: • They have a rather large menu for all you can eat sushi, and even more options on their regular menu. Lots of variety. • The wait staff is always very polite and helpful. • Everything has tasted fresh every time I have come here, which is something I was yet to experience at an ayce place. Usually there's at least one roll that's too dry or overly fishy, but not this time. Major plus for that, imo! • The trays they use to deliver larger orders of food are very cute. Makes it fun to come here with friends (or a large appetite). • It has some of the best prices for AYCE sushi in the city ($28 for dinner, $20 for lunch). It is honestly astounding that they don't have more business than they do. 5 star joint on a very nice shopping strip.

We have been coming here for a few years now and value wise it's great. Try to visit closer to the weekend as the fish seems fresher and taste better than on a Monday-Wednesday. Our last experience wasn't the best but if you are looking for an all you can eat sushi with good appetizers, it's solid. Service has always been great, and ambiance isn't going to wow a date but can deft have a good conversation there.

The sushi and concept are good, but I don't think I'll.l go back. I've had one good experience and one bad experience. They charge a $10 leftover fee for the All You Can Eat menu. I thought this was to avoid food waste (which is reasonable), but it applies to if you are taking leftovers home in a to-go box (not food waste). So, if you ask for a to-go box, you're going to get charged an extra $10. I can see how they want to avoid people from ordering an insane amount of food, but the fee and details around it were a little tacky and also unclear. I ate the $10 instead of wasting the food (still not even sure if they charge for food waste). One of the waiters poured water in the kiddo's Sprite, which was funny until they never came back to check on us. The lady at the front is very welcoming, and we appreciated that.

WOW!! I cannot stress enough how excellent my experience at this restaurant was. I went there twice (for lunch both times) and you CANNOT find a better deal! 19.99 all you can eat and the best part, leftovers!! The sushi is quality and as good as any other restaurant without having to pay a pretty penny. This place is right by my office and so ive tried it twice, each time was a let down. I got take out each time and the service was speedy and the employees have always been kind. The restaurant looks clean. It's the food that missed the mark entirely. I ordered the 3-roll maki lunch special which, price-wise is a great deal. However, the pieces of sushi are so massive that it's uncomfortable to eat a piece in one bite and of course when you bite half of a piece it completely falls apart. The proportions of rice to filling is way off and they aren't rolled nearly enough so they are just difficult to eat. The salad that comes with the sushi is iceberg lettuce, one single cherry tomato and dressing... both times I've ordered the salad had about an inch of water at the bottom of the container as if the lettuce had been rinsed and immediately thrown into the box. It was so off-putting I couldn't even eat the salad. As much as I want to like this place (due to its customer service and convenience) I just can't go back. Sorry, Sushi Tokoro :(

27.95 for AYCE appetizers, sushi and dessert! BYOB with no cork fee. We didn't have any problem getting in on a Thursday night. They have many tables for groups of 2 - 6. Service was very good. You fill out what items you want and they will start bringing them to the table and clearing the plates that you are done with quickly. Appetizers - Miso Soup - they give a big bow of miso soup that has some little tofu bites - Gyoza - comes with 4 made with pork - Sesame Balls - these come out hot and are small and delicious. We ordered two they are so good. - Bao Buns - I have never seen these on an AYCE menu. The bread to filling ratio was small to me, so I wouldn't order again. Sushi - Tuna Nigiri - good, never seen Nigiri on an AYCE menu before - Tofu Skin Nigiri - nice and sweet, a bit thicker skin than usual - Green River Roll - this one was my favorite with spicy salmon, japaleno and red snapper tempura. It was so good I would order two of these next time. - We also go the Crazy Tuna Roll, Kiss on Fire and two other rolls Ice Cream - They have a wide assortment of ice cream flavors from butter pecan, cookies and cream, green tea, strawberry, and banana tempura. They didn't have the banana tempura, so we got green tea. The ice cream comes out in small individual portions.

Pretty unassuming spot. On the small side, with a decent commercial window up front. We came because we heard great things about the sushi being THE BEST around. We ordered cooked food along with our sushi rolls. So got a decent idea of their menu flavors. We didn't leave Amazed, but we were satisfied. The sushi was VERY solid. Would go back for sure, but only after sampling some other sushi spots around.

My previous review was a 4/5 as Sushi Tokoro is probably not "as good as it gets" aka best thing ever, but it is a "great" AYCE sushi place and it's now probably my favorite AYCE sushi in Chicago after having Sushi Taku. I used to live in Lincoln Square and have been here many times, but I just saw that I have never updated my Yelp review. I recently visited Sushi Tokoro last Friday night before catching the Lawrence bus to the Aragon Ballroom for Twisted Xmas. I arrived around 5:15pm and was able to get a table and it filled up a bit. It will get crowded at peak times. Ambiance is well-lit, but it looks slightly dated. Sushi Tokoro is BYOB. They have increased their prices for AYCE sushi for dinner, thanks to inflation. It used to $24/person and now it's up to $28/person. Not terrible, but that is ~17% increase over a year, and I am certainly willing to pay for it because of the quality of the sushi. The rolls are basic, but I love their rice and the fish that they use. Presentation is great overall! The sushi also does not fall apart, which is a huge plus and show their quality of their craftsmanship. Their Gyoza and crab rangoon appetizers are very mid to bad. I have had their Edamame and their house salad, which are fine. I haven't had any other apps as I save myself for the sushi. Service is adequate, but the rolls tend to come out pretty fast depending how busy they are. I wish that they either had bigger glasses for water or would leave a water jug at each table as I usually don't bring alcohol. Overall, this is my favorite AYCE sushi in Chicago. The rice is heavy and that is how they get you, but I love their rice due to the texture and flavor. Skip the apps and come for the sushi. BYOB is always a plus! I'm a huge fan of Sushi Tokoro so definitely check this place out when you are up in Lincoln Square!

Love sushi tokoro and their sushi boats! Such an unassuming spot but for locals who know about it, you can see how quickly it fills up especially on a weekend night. It's $27.95 for all you can eat sushi, appetizers, and desserts which is absolutely phenomenal. Such great service and food, no wonder it's a neighborhood staple

There are a number of all you can eat sushi restaurants in the city, but Sushi Tokoro is my personal favorite. You really can't beat the quality of their sushi as well as the price. I'm really impressed this AYCE place has been able to keep their prices so reasonable, since even before the pandemic, and you can still manage to get a seat on a weekend. The restaurant is quite spacious and clean, and there are a lot of tables. Service is good, too. It isn't lightning-fast, but they spend time putting together beautiful platters of sushi. My favorites are the salmon, the white tuna, and the yellowtail! They tasted really fresh, and the ratio of fish to rice was also good. It isn't too much rice per piece of nigiri, so you don't feel like you're just filling up on rice. I also liked the crab rangoon for appetizer and the green tea ice cream for dessert was really nice. Their presentation is also a big strength--one of our orders came out on a big wooden bridge and it was really a showstopper! For a super affordable all you can eat experience, Sushi Tokoro is not to be missed.

This place was super fun. For the price, I think it was incredible. obviously with all you can eat, the sushi was not the highest quality but I was happily impressed. Also it's a good show they bring out the food on a platter and they have a lot of options. The service was very good, genuinely could see myself going regularly.

The worst AYCE place I have been to. Both nigiri and the rolls had a ton of rice. It was cold, hard, and compressed. It tasted like a piece of eraser. I didn't try their a la carte menu maybe it's better, but definitely don't try their AYCE menu. Complete scam. The more you order the more rice the pack in the sushi.

This place is amazing and I can't wait to go back! First of all the price? Awesome. My friends were visiting from out of state and I saw that this is AYCE and we just jumped to it. First of all, the decor? Really clean and really nice. It was good vibes for sure. Second, the service? Great! They were really helpful, answered our questions, and attentive! Now the food: SO SO GOOD. It was fresh, great experience for my friends, and now they were like, "I wish this was available back home. We need to come back!" We vegetable tempura, fried scallops (we've never had it fried but this was a game changer!), and then a huge amount of sushi and topped it off with miso soup! My friend never had Unagi Nigiri (Eel) either before and now they love it! Next time, we want to utilize the BYOB aspect of the restaurant too. We'll see you again soon!

Dam I finally made it here to "Sushi Tokoro". Like so many other places you drive by so many times well today finally stopped by for lunch. For lunch they have an $18.95 for all AYCE sushi. Sushi Tokoro is located on Western Ave just south of Lawerence Avenue. I met my buddy here for lunch. Sushi Tokoro has been here for 10 years. The guys making the sushi were very friendly & personable. They have a nice selection of nigiri & rolls to select from. After we received our order the server was almost non existent. She disappeared. We looked around trying to find her but to no avail. The sushi was decent but not what I would consider super high quality, but for the price point of $18.95 for AYCE @ lunch it's an excellent value. Will I be back again? Absolutely.

Really welcoming staff and comfortable dining space. Parking is very easy to find as well! Menu is not as robust as some other AYCE places but the price point is also slightly lower here. The nigiris here are really awesome in terms of fish and rice ratio - very large though so a 2 biter. Rolls are tasty but they are also large so it can be quite filling. I didn't love the spicy salmon because it had a lot of tempura filler. The apps I loved most were the fried oyster and seaweed salad! Good to fill a sushi craving!

I love some good ole ayce sushi. I've tried many throughout the city and, although it's my first time here, I think it's my favorite one already. Really solid quality sushi with smaller reasonable portions (good for ayce sushi), great service, and great value. I look forward to coming here again. There's a great selection of appetizers, rolls, and nigiri. The quality of their sushi was solid. The rice quantity was normal and good (I've found many all you can eat sushi places pack their rice into their rolls to a point you're eating squares of rice to get you full...). The portion sizes were very reasonable and I really liked that the appetizers came out in small portions so you can try many items without feeling forced to commit to any one thing and inevitably being stuck with 2 plates of food you have to finish at the end. I recommend ordering a medium sized first order with variety to try things and then a small second order with things you will know you will like. Don't go too crazy on the first order or you'll end up trying to finish a ton of extra or cold food questioning your life decisions.

Terribly fishy rolls that fell apart and made our stomachs miserable. Highly do not recommend if you want any remotely good food.

This is a great value for the price. We enjoyed a lot of sushi for $27. They also have reduced prices for children ages 12 and under. my only complaint is that the roll His had a lot of rice to the point that we couldn't finish our sushi because we were so stuffed full of rice. We were pleased that they did not that they did not charge us extra, despite leaving several pieces of sushi untouched. We followed the advice of fellow Yelpers and tried the crab Rangoon. We were not disappointed. It was flavorful and crunchy, with a lot of filling. They also did not charge a BYOB fee.

This place is a win-win! All you can eat!! AYCE!!!! BYOB! Bring your own beverage! Yum yum yum. I love the crab rangoon. Quick service.

#AYCE All you can eat sushi in Lincoln Square #Chicago . For $28 get all you can eat nigiri , sushi rolls, and other appetizers. Recommend spider rolls and yellowtail nigiri , fried oysters, fried bananas. Order enough rolls and they will put everything in a beautiful sushi boat presentation. The staff there is incredibly friendly and efficient. Super casual ambiance that is great for family dinners, friends get togethers and even dates. This is one of my favorite AYCE sushi joints in the city. Also #BYOB

i used to go to this spot a lot when i was in high school! we decided to visit for lunch since we were in the area. the interior hasn't changed much and the staff are friendly. i liked how they had some appetizers that aren't usually offered like the pork belly buns. the gyoza was soft but was still crispy on the bottom and the yakitori was tender. we noticed a lot of rice in the sushi and the pieces were massive. i wasn't a big fan of the salmon skin and the crab rangoon was a little bit doughy, although it did have a lot of filling. the price for two people came out to $41 excluding tip which is really decent for ayce sushi. id recommend this location for those looking for quantity over quality. they also have a extensive ice cream selection!

Every time I come here, I get the same order every time which is a salmon avocado roll and it never disappoints. I can tell it's fresh, and the service is always kind.

Really great sushi, my dad did the sushi dinner with 3 rolls and it was plenty of food. I got a roll and a few nigiri. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The service was great and very attentive and there wasn't a terrible wait. The music was good and the space was clean and well maintained. Best of all, parking was easy and convenient with metered street parking.

Eh this place is fine. I recommend Miku Sushi if you're wanting sushi in the area. First, I hate that it's on Western bc there are always sketchy people right outside when you walk up to the restaurant. Secondly, the food is ok but the kicker is the service. It'll take you 20 min just to put in an order once you're ready bc the servers are circling but weirdly avoiding you! Then the food came out on a plastic boat (cool but excessive) and when we had too much and wanted to get a box, the waiters were nowhere to be found for like an hour? We waited and waited and the servers never came to check on us or come take our food away. Very strange experience. Won't be returning

My go-to place for all you can eat sushi in Chicago. $27.95 now (used to be like $5 cheaper before covid, but everyone's raising prices nowadays and still a good deal for what you get) and BYOB. I don't think they charge a cork fee either. No sashimi, but broad selection of appetizers, nigiri, and rolls. Plus ice cream and delicious banana tempura drizzled with honey for dessert are all included. I think the secret is out, because they're crowded on weekend nights and do a busy carry-out business too. But a solid choice if you're looking for all-u-can-eat sushi.

I have ordered delivery from Sushi Tokoro a few times over the past 6 months. No less than 3 times have I not received my order due to "the delivery driver's car broke down". I don't believe that, and neither should you. The food is fine when it shows up. DO NOT order delivery from here.

Well, returned on a Sunday night and wasn't impressed. Everything had a slightly bitter taste. I couldn't tell if the rice was bad, or if it was the fish. Disappointing they'd offer the AYCE during a time when quality isn't as par as the weekday.

This is my first time eating sushi in too long and I am back in my happy place. The pick up took a little longer than anticipated, the hostess was very sweet and kind to me and I really wasn't in a rush anyway. The miso really hot the spot and so did everything else. I just ate and an already looking forward to the next time I order from there. Thank you for making this snowy Friday extra delicious.

I was first introduced to ayce sushi at this spot many years ago, and it has been my go to ever since. Of course I love sushi taku and other places too if I'm feeling more spendy, but it's hard to beat the lunch special deals here, and the sushi is great!

Let me just start off by saying you're better off at sushi taku. It started off okay, we got the piece of paper and we were going to do AYCE. While ordering we realized some items were not on Ayce and you had to pay for it. There's no sashimi on the Ayce menu. It also took around 45 minutes to get our first round of food. My friend and I got a bit frustrated due to the waiting time because other places do not make you wait that long. Then the waiters messed up and thought the food was for us and it felt uncomfortable being approached twice about us ordering it when it was their fault for mixing it up. It ended up being the table in front of us who had it. Overall the sushi is mediocre and was not a good experience. Would not come back and would continue to visiting sushi taku instead.

I really really really wanted to like this place but in the end it came down to quality of fish. GOOD: The size of the ayce menu and the other deals off the the ayce menu are EXCELLENT. One of the more affordable places for ayce sushi in Chicago. In addition if you order a bunch they give you a boat which is always fun! The waitstaff was also pretty attentive and the food came quick! Ayce also includes dessert, which they do not seem to limit. So that's awesome and that was pretty good! BAD: The quality of fish is subpar. You probably could come here and not eat fish and get your money worth for lunch, but not dinner. I came for lunch which is why I gave it 3 stars but very subpar fish overall. In addition there wasn't enough creativity in the rolls to warrant getting a variety of different things. Everything was very basic. Result: All in all you go to all you can eat sushi for the sushi and this place was not it. Coming here for lunch MAY be worth it but I'd venture elsewhere.

The food was good here but the service lacked a lot. We also told the guy that we wanted to veggie hibachi lunch meals and he put in two chicken hibachis which was disappointing. The food overall was good even the sushi but I just wish we would've had better service.

Tokoro has been my favorite ayce sushi restaurant. Quality (and service) here is consistently good. Lunch price is below $20 before tax/tip. Rice is properly cooked and they don't use too much in the sushi. Nigiri usually hold together well. I've had worse quality fish and even strangely cut fish at other ayce sushi. But Tokoro has been consistently good every time I come. The only thing they lack in comparison to competition is variety of appetizers. Still, 5 stars from me.

The service was good but the sushi needs more work. Uneven slices of fish, too much rice in the rolls. Fish was not super fresh to taste and the size of the sushi was not same. Sushi rice was slightly overcooked. It is AYCE so decide what you will.

I have been coming here for years. I literally live so close by and this was my go to sushi place. Today I ordered the same roles I always get and I was extremely dissatisfied. The rolls were disgusting, the fish tasted rotten and the role was falling apart as well. I called to let them know what was going on and instead of them apologizing they want to act like I'm in the wrong. They didn't take any responsibility for anything. I honestly didn't even ask or assumed I would get anything back, I was just simply letting them know that I was disappointed because of how much I spent. Nonetheless it was a good run but never will be ordering or coming here ever again.

Child-friendly AYCE sushi restaurant. The place is clean and has a good ambiance. Staff are so nice. My children made a mess inside the restaurant but they've taken care of it pretty well. Food is so good. Tastes really like an authentic sushi. Their ice cream was the best. My kids love it.

Pretty solid AYCE sushi experience. Quality is good and for $18.95 you really can't beat it. Service was quick and very attentive so we could keep ordering more. Just be careful because you pay for what you don't eat!

It was good sushi tried both raw and cooked, had the edamame, gyoza and seaweed salad it was all delicious. I came in at 2ish pm hoping to catch the lunch price and unfortunately I was told that on Sundays they only do the dinner price which was a bummer. So I ended up paying about $32 instead of $20ish which was what I expected to pay as I walked in.

So they literally scam you! First of all for the "all you can eat menu, they say you can't take it home to "avoid food waste" but they would rather take it to trash! And charge you for it! The waiter said I should only bring half of the order, we said no bring it all, yet the pple in the kitchen decided to only send half, and even less than half but they choose for you what you start with first. They literally kept the good ones in the kitchen! The leftovers are not to go! You can't take it home but they can put it in trash and charge you for them! This place is a scam and they have poor costumer service!

Ordered the all you can eat but not worth it. The miso soup was not hot enough but good overall. The fish salad had some tough tuna, some of the white tuna was ok and the salmon was nice. However the sushi rolls were too big (not how sushi is meant to be) and overloaded with sub quality rice. I couldn't even eat the crazy tuna roll as it was just not good/fresh tasting. Not much different than Jewel Osco rolls. Big disappointment. You can find better good priced sushi in the city like Sushi Taku, Sushi Payce etc.

I'm not sure if their sushi is overall too dry or not, or if they were just being rushed because they want to close soon (they close 10:30pm on the schedule). I would understand the case if I just walked in around 10pm. However, we were there for dinner around 8:30ish pm and each sushi tastes so dry and it has too much rice, which makes sense for the all you can eat, but they could've put enough sauce at least. Also, I had to ask for ginger and wasabi because there wasn't any provided on the plate. Sometimes little things make a big difference and I think they just missed that out.

Fun place to go and make sure to BYOB. This place offers all you can eat menu so come hungry! We came on a Saturday night and the wait wasn't bad. The white tuna and yellowtail nigiri is our favorite. We got some fun rolls to try. I recommend the banana tempura with ice cream for dessert. We got the buttered pecan ice cream which was delicious. The appetizers yakitori for the regular non all you can eat are very very small. The salmon nigiri was a bit chewy. I highly recommend trying lots of fun rolls but don't order more than you can eat.

Everything is good here. The sushi, appetizers, everything. If ur lookin for high end, ur in the wrong place. The service is great! The place is nice and clean and reminds me of a cafeteria. I love cafeterias!

So... this update should've been written about 6 months ago. But I've been busy! They've hired more help and although they don't all speak English as well as we would like, they do their best and so yeah. If you're missing the side dishes as I was in my last review, just get the all you can eat. They're all on that menu and plus some. In my opinion, it's totally worth it. I can eat the cost of all you can eat in the appetizers alone. If you have leftover sushi at the end of your all you can eat, they will offer to box it up for you, however, they will also charge you for it. Lol!! So... I guess it depends on how badly you wanna have leftover sushi the next day, right? We went Saturday night. It is now Monday... I already can't wait to go back. Cuz I'm a piggy. Lol!

Dined in on Friday night with a friend. It's byob so we brought a bottle of wine. The staff accommodated my friend and I. We ordered variety of different sushi options. The sushi was delicious.

Good place for AYCE sushi to order. The menu is extensive of rolls, nigiri and appetizers to choose from. The fish is fresh and the fish portions are pretty big too, we always enjoy the salmon here. The rice would cause me to give it 3 stars as there is quite a lot of rice with the nigiri. On this most recent visit it also was mushier than from what I remember before. Price is decent too for dinner, $22.99. Kids 3-12 yrs old are $8.99 each.

A really decent place to get AYCE Sushi in Chicago to be honest! Probably up there with my favorites including Sushi Taku, if you factor in cost (Tokoro is cheaper than Taku, but Taku has better sushi/nigiri in my opinion). Unfortunately quite a trek for me up in Ravenswood, but that's honestly probably a good thing -- otherwise I'd be here all the time. The options are pretty standard here and you can choose from a nice selection of different sushi rolls. The nigiri was particularly good -- I enjoyed both the salmon and tuna and thought the pieces were pretty large in comparison to the amount of rice for each piece. Maybe 1 out of the ~15-20 pieces of nigiri felt a little too cold to the touch (like it had just been taken out of the fridge), but otherwise no complaints. In terms of desserts they have a pretty good selection of different ice cream flavors. The service was good. We made a reservation for a group of ~10 people and were seated very close to our reservation time (I was wary of this given one of the previous reviews did experienced no issues here). One of our servers stood out to me in a very positive light -- he was always running back and forth out of the kitchen with orders and continuously asked if we needed anything. I liked his hustle! Overall, a tasty and relatively affordable AYCE sushi spot for the price. Definitely worth a try for the sushi afficionado!

I usually go here when I want good all you can eat sushi. The waiters are nice and it's byob. It's a pretty chill place. Highly recommend
