Food was amazing. The red dragon roll and the scallop roll were phenomenal. I took the advice of another review and tried the truffle salmon which was unbelievable almost all the tables were full, but there were only two Waite staff and one was actually hosting as well so I wouldn’t say Service was great. I think they could’ve used one more person on the floor

Very delicious food and very friendly staff. Prices are very decent affordable. If I'm ever in LA again I would come back to here for sure.

I rarely ever leave a bad review but this was easily one of the worst sushi experiences I’ve ever had. The sushi quality itself wasn’t too bad, it was average (overpriced for its’ quality). And the waitresses are friendly, but the food took ridiculously long. There were only 2 other parties in the restaurant, first order of 12 pieces of nigiri took about 20-30 minutes which was a little understandable. But the last 4 pieces of nigiri (2 orders of 2 pcs) took another 25 minutes! How does it even take that long with so little people eating in.. and then I look at the chefs behind the bar and they’re hitting their cups of beer with the customers eating there.. I normally wouldn’t have a problem with that IF my food didn’t take ridiculously long. Will never come back, wouldn’t recommend to others. Would recommend the owner to have his workers learn to prioritize their responsibilities more appropriately though.

We came during lunch and were very surprised at how great this restaurant was for us. The wait staff were very responsive for a restaurant that was a little over half full. They took careful note on what we wanted to order with slight modification. Overall the food was very tasty and definitely higher quality. If you would like quality this is the place for that and not quantity. The baked mussels were acceptable. The sashimi was very fresh and tasty. The bluefin was very soft and delectable. The garlic salmon collar was a bit salty, but a very small side of rice offered it would really make it perfect. The sweet shrimp was very good and probably a return favorite now. The salmon carpaccio was better than most carpaccios across SoCal. I was told the jumbo scallop was good. The salmon truffle was “the best” and really soft.

This is one of the top sushi spots I go to. The sushi is amazingly fresh and delicious, with great texture. One of my favorites is the red snapper with lemongrass, oh so good. You really can't go wrong with anything here, it is amazing. This is a small place that does fill up fast, so I tend to come early. Service is excellent, and this is a regular stop when I am in the area. I highly recommend it.

We arrived here at approximately 7:30pm. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. They had some very interesting sushi options. They all tasted delicious and fresh. Our all time favorite was the Jungle Fever roll topped with fried arugula. That crunchy topping was amazing! While we were bummed that they didn't have Thai iced tea, they still offered refillable soda and were really great about keeping our drinks fresh and filled. We will DEFINITELY be coming back again!!

Don't let the name fool you--Sushi World is an excellent local sushi spot with delicious food and friendly, attentive staff. They offer daily specials, happy hour deals, unique specialty rolls, bento boxes, omakase specials, fresh sushi and sashimi, and more! I recently enjoyed their sushi, omakase sushi lunch, miso black cod dish, and appetizers. If you're not into sushi, they offer plenty of cooked items and soups from the kitchen. Follow them on social media for updates on their current specials and when they announce whole Blue Fin tuna carvings. Get first dibs on the fresh tuna! Prices have increased over the years, as have most restaurants. However, quality and service are worth the cost. I'll be back!

We came to Sushi World on 6/4/25, just after 2PM in the afternoon. Saw so many videos on Facebook, TikTok and posts on Instagram about the great food they offer. We thought it would be great to try and enjoy all the delicious looking items on their menu. The restaurant had about 10 customers at the time of our visit. We started with the fried Calamari but it was chewy and not well prepared. Then we tried the Dynamic Scallop, very soft and tasty. Now for the Sushi. All the different fish we tried were very good. Tuna, Yellowtail, Salmon, Toro, Albacore, Uni, all were delicious and tasty. Our biggest problem was the service and cleanliness. Our table was very sticky and I observed, after a couple of people left, that the tables just had a quick wipe down, no proper cleaning. The service was also very slow, mind you it wasn't busy at all. Seems to me that either the staff isn't trained well, they don't care or the management doesn't feel the need to enforce proper training. I would love to come again, try some more dishes and hopefully recommend this establishment to many other future patrons. Please address these issues and you will be more profitable for sure. P.S. Could you please post on your website or Facebook the dates and time, approx., for the carving of Bluefin Tuna. Would love to bring the family for this exciting event. I visited this place with my family for a sushi dinner. It was a Saturday evening, but the restaurant was quiet, with less than half of the tables occupied. There were even three sushi chefs working. My family loves sushi, so we go out for it once or twice a month, but I've never been to a place where it took this long to be served. It took more than 30 minutes for our sushi to arrive. While it was better than AYCE sushi, there was nothing particularly special compared to other regular sushi restaurants.

Male server was very RUDE!!!!!!!!! NO smile, rude demeanor LMAOOO why work in the restaurant industry if you don't know how to interact with people? This was 1/30 @ 7:05 PM

I've been coming here with my mother for years. It's near her house and. the fish is always fresh. The service is great. The sushi chefs are excellent. It's a simple place with really good quality fish. Not fancy. Not stuffy. But it's a great vibe.

The food was very good. The wait time, however. Around 7 pm on a Thursday night was 45 minutes for our food. That's after our order was placed. Huge to go orders and only two staffers running around meant hungry diners and then no open tables for folks waiting. Kind of a nightmare scenario. But once the food came, it was good. I especially liked the jalapeño yellow tail sashimi.

Wow just realized that I haven't left a review for this place. Full disclosure I've been here a hundred times and have no problem spending top dollar here. It's a small/medium sized restaurant that has an awesome vibe. The staff and sushi Chefs, lead by Chef Ewan(forgive me if I spelt the name wrong) are the best in the business. This is my favorite style sushi place, it lands between traditional Japanese style and modern American style. I love the experience of traditional Japanese no menu restaurants, but at times they can feel overly stiff and slow. This place buys top quality product(I know from an inside source) and the presentation and flavor development of the dishes is excellent. Standout dish/item: Uni Shooter & Shima Aji

Fresh fish, delicious rolls and nigiri. Their focus is on the sushi so I wouldn't recommend anything else (the teriyaki steak was whatevers). Kids enjoy the udon though so that lets us eat here haha. Unlimited iced tea is nice! They refill frequently too. It's a very relaxing place to enjoy.

Amazed how good this place was since it wasn't crowded. Mon & Tues they have happy hour all day . The sushi and the oysters didn't taste fishy at all either . Def would come back

I came to Sushi World for the first time last Friday 7/18 and I must say I will be coming back! I was recommended by a friend and found the food to be everything he said it was. The sushi is damn near high-end and for these prices it's a steal compared to some other places I've been to in my time. The toro especially just melts in your mouth and I'd recommend getting at least one order if you're there. The service was quite quick for just how busy it was and the waiters were extremely amiable. There's this incredible vibe to the place knowing that you're eating at a place with a line 10 feet out the door and the fact that everyone's there for good reason. I would highly, highly recommend this spot if you're looking for what is genuinely high-end sushi in OC at a more affordable price. I myself will be coming back on Saturday as I've heard they do live tuna cutting as well!

The rolls are always so fresh and yummy. The wait for food is a little longer in my opinion. The restaurant is rather small, not as much seating. The parking lot can get super busy as well. ig: @cravingswithcat

Oh my word. Why have I taken this long to get here?! Excellent quality sushi and everything we ate was so good! Started with chicken gyoza and agadahsi tofu. Then the real meal started with truffle seared salmon sushi, peppered salmon sushi, and salmon sushi! We had the Bentley roll which had seared salmon on top and spicy salmon inside. Wow. Salmon carpaccio was tasty, the sauce was delicious and had a hint of spicy oil. What I really enjoyed was the salmon skin hand roll. The crunchy salmon skin and fresh cucumbers along with the perfectly wrapped seaweed was *chefs kiss* Staff was attentive and it was chill vibes. They had raspberry iced tea which for some reason I flippin love with any meal, so for that, I give 5 solid stars. LOL! I'm coming back to this place. For sure, for sure.

came for dinner on a weekday night and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of fish and yumminess of the rolls! the fish is fresh and the rolls had a lot of flavors that worked well together. i really liked everything i ordered! the servers were kind and attentive as well. i loved the decor inside and there's even a bar to sit and watch them prepare the food. i would totally come back for the rolls!

I remember seeing lots of ads for this place during early covid times. Even though I live 5 minutes away, I couldn't make it here because we had our go to sushi place. We finally got to try this church after church on Sunday. We had a little group of 7. Tables here were either for 4 or 2 and there's the sushi counter. However they were able to put tables together pretty quick. (It wasn't busy here at all as there were only three other people) The menu consists of drink menu and a food menu. This place specializes in rolls, so that took up one side while the other side is everything else. Most of us opted for the katsu curry. We also got to try the unagi bowl, the karaage chicken. Spider roll, and spicy tuna roll. I just wanted to say taste wise, food is pretty spot on. I really liked the karaage chicken as it tasted like it was fried in potato starch. It has that light crispiness and airy. Not overly salty, totally appreciate this dish. The unagi Don was terrific. Has slight char on the eel and was the prettiest thing they made. But the sourness from the mirin flavor on the sushi rice was a bit much. Did wish they use less or mix it with regular rice. The katsu curry tasted like it wasn't from sushi cubes but rather curry powder. It was good but the potato and carrots were on the al dente side. Our katsu wasn't dry but was thinner than expected. Service here was good. Our waitress/front end/ water person did well. The rolls were okay, I do think for the price it was too thin. Most cut rolls are thicker than here. The bathroom is clean. If you see the inside of the men's bathroom, it's huge. Pretty much bigger than my bathroom at my pad. I'd come back for the unagi bowl and karraage chicken. I might give the curry one more try as they put those red pickles on the side like curry house days.

Well since this is right next to my nail place we thought would try it ... ordered 2 simple Poké bowls was told it would take 20 minutes which we were OK with after 30 minutes I asked where our was she said 5 minutes and she walked up to the cooks station, and I saw her do the number two with her fingers ... people across from us came in after us and got their food after 40 minutes. We just got up and left and I told her we were here before those people were & they got served first ! Oh not one time in the 40 minutes did the servers cane up to us and let us know what was going ...

Our favorite place for sushi. The staff were friendly and amazing. We did not have to wait too long for our meal. Sushi rolls are fresh and delicious. We have to come back again and again for their Cheetah roll, which has cheetos snack on top, then Cypress roll with fresh slices of strawberry. This place is great for family or friends gathering since the restaurant is spacious with tables and booths.

Our go-to sushi place for years. Staff is wonderful, sushi is so fresh the fish are still moving. I recommend the blue fin sashimi. It melts in your mouth like butter. Amazing fresh wasabi. I don't know where they get their ginger, but that alone is worth coming in for. Can't go wrong with any menu item.

So happy I found you! The outside of the store does not tell your amazing story of true quality all the way around. I love sushi and your Truffled Salmon has a smooth taste and is absolutely delicious. The staff is hardworking and driven to satisfy the customer. We often come for lunch but tonight we came for dinner. We ordered a lot of specialty rolls: Crunch Roll Cypress roll Rainbow roll Salmon roll Snowman roll Superman roll Edamame - hot steamed and salty Chicken gyoza - ordered two rounds bc they were really good Fried baby crab - really crunchy and not greasy Mochi ice cream - green tea and mango - cold and tasty Crème brûlée - don't recommend - strange consistency Hot green tea - wasn't great. Lots of tea residue at the bottom of the cup (it seperated from the water quickly) and left a strange after taste. Service was great. They were very attentive. We were seated right away and the food came out in a timely manner.

This place was packed! By far the best-freshest sashimi and sushi I have had (unless I have caught it myself). The customer service is above-and-beyond any other sushi establishment. Today was the Blue Fin Tuna carving day and it did not disappoint, in fact the experience was above-and-beyond my expectations, simply amazing!

Sushi was decent and the service was great--until I found a curly hair in my last piece. Ruined the whole meal.

Good sushi, the service was decent but not amazing. I felt rushed during dinner and didn't really get to enjoy the meal. The Jon-sushi items were subpar and didn't really seem like it was made in house. The ambiance is okay, typical sushi joint in Orange County. The chefs were nice however you could tell they were extra friendly with the regulars and just normal with outsiders. Kind of felt weird.

My favorite sushi spot! I like their chirashi don and unagi don. So fresh and so delicious.

Super duper delicious!!! The service was helpful and helped me pick out which udon to eat Curry udon is a recommend and the california hand roll along with the salmon hand roll are a good add on to this delicious meal!!!

We are not sushi connoisseurs, but our friends are, and this is their favorite place for it in the middle of ample other opportunities in SoCal. We do know that everything we've tried here with their guidance has been wonderful. It's especially fun to sit at the bar and watch the chef at work and listen to to him converse with our friends, who are regulars. Our son lives in Silicon Valley, where he too has many options for sushi. He ordered takeout here at our suggestion while in the area, and he agreed with the quality. It's a small location and gets crowded, so go early or late if possible.

This is a solid sushi spot with good service. The ambiance/interior is cute and there isn't a large amount of seating but we were always seated quite quickly. It most definitely isn't the best sushi I've ever had as there are many spots that compare in the area but the quality is fresh and the service has always been fast. There's a nice bar view too.

Very cute place but service and food could be better. We ordered: miso soup: soup was lukewarm Edamame: only top few had salt sprinkled on top Avocado roll: rolled really right with little rice and too much seaweed on the outside Cucumber roll: good but nothing special Vegetable roll: I didn't like but my husband said it was the best one (only one rolled with the rice on the outside) There were few customers in here and the rolls took 20+ minutes to come out. Could it be because the cook was drinking beer on the job? ‍ we only noticed he was drinking once the rolls finally came out. I'd skip and find a better spot in the area.

So this place is AWESOME! So first the sushi, I loved it! it has a variety of flavors and rolls, the chef was so nice and helpful. The service and waitress were nice and gave me their opinions about certain rolls and appetizers. Thank you! Next is the event! They rolled out a 230lb tuna fish and cut it right in front of us. But first, they let my niece and nephew (Niblings) go to the kitchen and see it. This was so awesome and a great touch by the owner!! Then the cutting began, it was an event and cool to see, we had kids with us and their excitement made it better. But then the pieces came out and my 8-year-old nephew had the first bite which got applause from everyone and made him feel super special. George, I think the owner, said they do this every two weeks so it was an event. The people that came to see this were so cool and so fascinated with all this, it made the tuna cutting better. Sushi World see you in two weeks!!

Delicious. Reasonably priced. Great service. Fun! I think I've found my fave new local sushi spot, and if I'm being honest, I almost don't wanna tell y'all about it, because I selfishly don't want wait times to go up, haha! But here I go, telling y'all not to sleep on Sushi World. It's sooooo yummy! Absolutely loved everything we ordered, especially the truffle salmon sushi, that I can't stop thinking about, SO good! All the fish is so fresh and buttery goodness. There was some sporting game on during our dinner and the entire sushi counter was having a blast, cheering. Super fun vibes. The staff is super friendly and service was fairly quick. I'll be back, real soon!

Came in the area to charge my vehicle and found this place, and tastes good and surprisingly fresh! All staffs were friendly and I recommend you to come in monday tuesday all day happy hour.

*This review is specific to the service* The food is fine but the service is awful and don't bother to order take out. The person who took our order told us a 20 minute wait for our food and then we waited 45 minutes on a (very clearly) not busy night. And on top of it both people were extremely rude. It was a small order of sushi (nothing cooked) for just 2 people. So disappointing.

Had a great time at sushi world! I had such a wonderful variety to choose from, the service was great and they were not pushy, and I did not feel rushed to leave. I was meeting with a friend I had not seen in about 20 years, and I was worried they would rush to get us out. As I have experienced with other sushi, restaurants,. But that was not the case and I felt so at home, it was so enjoyable and the server was so attentive. Thank you, sushi world.

We have been loyal customers, even though it seems the food quality has declined in recent months, and that one time the beef teriyaki was so tough and gristly that it couldn't be chewed. I just stopped ordering beef teriyaki. Problem solved. The staff makes an effort to provide good service, and we realize it's a tough time for small businesses, so we kept coming back. But on June 26, the table top was dirty and our arms were sticking to it. So we watched as customers left, and staff would quickly do one swipe at the table as they walked past. That explains why our table was dirty. The lack of basic cleanliness has pushed us away. Maybe we'll return someday, but we're going to try other places in the area.

Poor quality fish and small rolls. Caterpillar roll -my god the eel tasted fishy. Fish isn't suppose to taste fishy. Fishy fish means it's lived it's last speck of shelf life. This eel in this roll has to be the fishiest eel I've ever tasted. Bentley -one of the better tasting rolls. Love that eel and spicy Mayo sauce (not sure if the orange sauce was spicy Mayo). Mixed tempura -was okay. No complaints Fish quality is questionable. Salmon had no bite to it. Rolls were smaller than my usual spot.

Seriously, this is my girlfriend and I's favorite sushi spot. Service is always great and the food is amazing. The total vibe of the place is so us (there's a samurai cat mural on the wall). Couple of our favorites are the jalapeño yellow tail and jungle fever roll. Definitely check it out. Staff is always very friendly, it's kind of a community service experience where you will be helped by multiple servers, but our main person tonight was Zach. Always a great night when eating at Sushi World

Best and freshest sushi I've had in a while. Most places I've gone to actually tell you that the fish you're ordering is the correct fish when in actuality it's another fish due to cutting costs. This place however is true to its word on fish quality and I know this because I actually see them cutting fish when preparing! There is also pictures showing them doing so. The tuna here is out of this world and is what tuna is suppose to taste like. Not like many other places whom use different fish and add a little bit of coloring to trick their customers. This place is amazing! You get what you pay for and it's delicious! A+++ the staff is ridiculously nice too and are fun to chat with.

We come here regularly because we, love the food and the service is good, but recently, I had come by to eat alone and ordered albacore belly, yellowtail belly, truffled salmon and aji mackerel. I've ordered these before in the past, but there was something particularly different about the flavors this time around, which might've explained why they took longer to bring out the food - where it felt like more preparation was put into it. I could really pick up on subtle flavors that weren't there in previous eats, which made it so much more delicious. There were these extra textures and flavors that I don't know how to put into words other than it was just really really good. I hadn't originally paid attention to another observation in which the sushi was lined up a certain way, but after eating most of it in order, I realized that if I had stuck to the order, one piece ended up complimenting the next one!! I'm already happy with this place but this just upped my love for their food just that much more.

found a dead cockroach under our table by the door. Told management and they mentioned that they run in cause the door is always open. I had to ask them to please sweep it away. Sad cause we liked this place.

Great food and good service. Love my spicy tuna rolls. The staff is friendly and always very attentive to what I need while eating.

Quality of the food was amazing! Service was quick and informative. The chefs were amazing. They seem to really enjoy working there. I like how they all get very personable with the customers. This might not seem like a far drive but i do drive about 25 mins to them just to eat and head back home. Its a great drinking spot too. Im a light weight so i couldnt handle the sake bomb Definitely recommend! Go for the omakase 2!!!! Not 1 lol I love chatting with alan. He is too cool.

My local go to spot. They take care of my family and are warm and friendly. Food is consistently good, so if you haven't been here, it's a must try.

Honestly, I want to keep this place a secret for as long as I can... it's been my favorite sushi spot for the past 2-3 years, and nothing has been able to beat it! I even moved from the IE to LA, and my bf and I still drive the hour for this place! The salmon is always fresh and they don't skimp out on the portions! And the yellowtail carpaccio... that would be death row meal (with the spicy garlic edamame as a starter of course). Their food is so so so good!! The servers and chefs are always so nice and welcoming, and the ambience is nice too! At first, I didn't think much of the place because of the name, but I was very wrong.. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi (or don't go.. so I can keep this place a secret for just a little longer!)

The quality of the fish is great! The Superman no rice roll is delicious. The service is wonderful and the staff remembers my orders. The Ambiance is nice and lively.

Although this is a very small restaurant, the quality is superb! The best sashimi I have had. You can't beat the freshness. The slices are I good size and not too think. Service is accurate and friendly. My favorite place. Wish I could get there more often but is not close to me.
