Was served by Maya last night and her service was phenomenal. She was super sweet and personable all while providing top tier service. We were super thirsty, drinking a bunch of water, and she made sure our cups were always full. She is great at her job, even chatting with us after we paid out and tipped, which i know she doesn’t have to do, and as a server im sure she was busy. Goes to show that she’s working hard even when she’s already been paid. I asked her for a recommendation, she was super knowledgeable and i ended up with an amazing roll (Solana). I worked food service the last two years and even though it doesn’t bother me, I always subconsciously notice when a point of service is not met. Not this girl! Maya’s got it down to a T. Really appreciate all her hard work last night and I think it warrants a raise! I don’t ever leave reviews but i really wanted management to know how great this girls doing out there. Raise! Promotion! Send it her way!

Hubby had dinner with his Bible Study Fellowship men’s group. Dad and I had a Daddy-Daughter dinner the other night and we went to @sushizushi Lincoln Heights location. Matthew was our server. Dad had Lemonade and I had Green Tea. We shared the Shrimp Tempura (Dad ate most of them), Diamond Roll, and Salmon Sashimi. It was simple yet meaningful and we had some leftovers, which David happily ate when he got home.

The bartender was on point. The food was tasty. My drink was great.

Review: Avoid This Sushi Spot – Dirty and Disappointing I recently visited, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. From the moment I walked in, I noticed the place felt unclean. The tables were sticky, the floor looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in days, and even the sushi bar had visible grime. Hygiene is crucial when it comes to sushi, and this place fails miserably. I would strongly recommend avoidingvunless they make serious improvements. There are plenty of cleaner, fresher options elsewhere! ⭐ 1/5 – Stay away!

Heads up! The photo is from a different location!!! My husband and I just left this location after being told our server was uncomfortable because another server said we called her stupid then later said we called her dumb. Which we never did. In fact, seconds prior to being approached I had complimented her for being “sweet” after getting my husband a bottled water since she served him tap water and he didn’t like it. Never once did we call Alexis a name. To be honest, the place was empty and seemed a bit slow compared to other times we have gone months ago. I am assuming the staff and management is struggling. We happily decided to leave and take our business and tip to another location. Definitely won’t be back to this one! I have never had an issue like this before and am completely shocked. Save yourself the surprise and enjoy your sushi at another location!!! (:

If you’re craving a consistent sushi restaurant, Sushi Zushi is your spot. I highly recommend the Christina and Lincoln Heights rolls. They have great flavors and good quantity for those protein lovers. If you have an appetite, I’d recommend starting with the spicy edamame and mango poke. Pro tip: Come during the week and try the Hawaiian Poke Bento Box, which includes the mango poke and a piece of the Christina.

Google
Overall a good sushi experience. But too many non- traditional rolls...like roast beef, pasta, and cream cheese rolls. Seems like half of the rolls have cream cheese. Raw fish options are always fresh. A solid sushi choice for San Antonio. Only issue is the gnats. You will be waving your hand over the sushi to keep them from landing on your food. Also, the bathrooms and floors are never clean.

The food was nice, the portions were okay, and last time I went I really liked it. But the service was AWFUL this time. First, there was barely anyone there and yet it took them forever to seat us. There wasn’t even anyone at the host stand. Secondly, the waitress couldn’t even pretend like she wanted to be there, she didn’t even smile at me. She had a very disinterested attitude the whole time. The only problems I really had were the service, but the food was good.

Yelp
Nice location near other shops and HEB Take out entrance No lunch menu but they do offer bento boxes for lunch Judge a place by their fried rice Fried rice didn't have much taste even with soy sauce. I added shrimp but it was only small cut up pieces into the small portion May try again

Yelp
I have been to this location many times and I think this will have been my last. We got seated at a booth that was COVERED in long brown/black hairs. Like 15 strands about 18 inches long. The table had been wiped and set, but they must have been in the rag and transferred. Service was mediocre. Our drinks sat empty for most of our dining experience. The food took forever to come. The goyza was old, cold and rubbery. The wait staff were just hanging out by their sushi counter, with their phones. We waited and waited to get a bill. Finally she reappeared. And I absolutely dislike not getting a paper bill, just getting told what your total is without getting a visual account of services charged for. It's just having more negative than positive now.

Jeret G.

Yelp
The food was excellent and the drinks were good! The service was a little understaffed but good despite that. It's a nice environment.

Yelp
Amazing food. The sushi was extremely fresh. The flavor combinations that they have here are amazing! Hands down one of my favorite sushi places that I have found so far in San Antonio. Amazing cocktails! The interior is nice, very clean and well taken care of. The service was fast, the waiter was extremely consistent and did an excellent job. I give this place a 10/10 definitely try it.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Love this location! The service is always excellent and our waitress was super nice! I like how this location has both indoor and outdoor seating too. Ordered the seafood udon bowl, which is perfect for a chilly day! The broth is so rich, and there are generous amounts of seafood like crab, shrimp, scallops, etc. It's super filling!! The endamame as an appetizer is always great! Very light and tasty! Parking is plenty on each side of the building, and it's located in a convenient place in the middle of a nice shopping center with an HEB and other food and clothing stores!

Yelp
Since my last review was in 2015, I thought it was time for an update after my visit for dinner earlier this month. Sushi Zushi is really near my grandfather's house in San Antonio, so I've definitely been my fair share of times. It has a large menu (sushi to noodles to teriyaki), and is a fairly large space, too. On this visit, none of us had sushi - soups and noodle bowls only - but I've definitely eaten a lot of their sushi in the past. The quality of the food is average, nothing I'd suggest anyone go out of their way for, but it is in a very convenient location (the main reason I've been so many times). The service on this past visit was fine (really nice server) but the food was very slow coming out of the kitchen (maybe due to the fact that a lot of their orders are for pickup or delivery now?). Overall, it's fine.

Trish T.

Yelp
Ugg...hair in vege rice and tempura and vege rice so greasy...they must use old oil because my food looked orange.

Ginger G.

Yelp
We always get outstanding service. The food is always fresh and delicious. They never disappoint. Donovan was our server, and he made our experience good! Good food, a great atmosphere, and great service. What else can you ask for?

Tristan F.

Yelp
My girlfriend used to love this place growing up, but both of us left feeling disappointed. The service was slow. The rolls were inconsistent, sometimes soggy and other times with rice that wasn't fully cooked. The Gyoza came out cold. I have heard they're in deep financial trouble, and it is clear that they have really fallen off.

McKayla R.

Yelp
Wow this place has gone down hill & it's really sad. From the service to the food, it's all taken a drastic dump. Even the cleanliness and upkeep of the building itself has declined. It's a sad world in the restaurant industry after covid & it shows here.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
We usually start with Edamame and hot sake. You can get your edamame spicy but we don't because of our kids, We love the kids bentos here! They include your choice of beef, fried or grilled chicken, dipping sauce, cheese sticks, fresh fruit, choice of rice, drink, and ice cream! My son said The mens toilets were dirty. My mango poke bento was too spicy. I enjoyed the sushi sampler & kale salad. Salad needed more dressing. Server seemed busy but attentive. Lots of parking. Good cocktails.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Wednesday and as soon as we walked in there was a faint whiff of urine. We were seated and ordered our appetizers and drinks. As soon as the food came out we were swarmed with gnats. It was gross and disgusting. I used to love coming here but this place has really gone down hill. Koi Kawa has a better ambience and more importantly no gnats. Also the light above our table was blinking on and off our entire meal.

Mona S.

Yelp
A disappointment It's been a long time since we've eaten at a Sushi Zushi, and we expected a good meal. But the miso soup was overly salty, the panko-covered pork in the Katsu Don was soggy, and the Jack Roll barely had a hint of the seafood it was supposed to contain. There was no wait for a table, but we were seated in a dark corner because the well-lighted tables hadn't been cleaned yet. The server was prompt and pleasant, however, so good marks for service. There are better options for Japanese food, in our opinion.

Crystal O.

Yelp
Sushi is always on par. The only thing this time was it looks like they are doing some type of remodeling. So one whole section was closed off. Wouldn't have made a difference but just made the entire place look dingy. Did not take away from the food tho!

Gilbert H.

Yelp
We had a big party and the food took over an hour to come out. When we were about to walk out, the server brought all the food together. After receiving the check, she told me I had to pay a mandatory 20% and that I wasn't allowed to change that on the machine. We got into a "discussion" about that and she ended up creating a scene. Manager didn't even want to cut us a break on any of it. She said her grills were down, overwhelmed and any other excuse. Two days later, almost everyone from our party ended up getting food poisoning from this place. Being all the food was brought out at once and about an hour after our order was placed, it was likely from some food already prepared and sitting there waiting for the rest of it to be ready. Definitely the last time we will go there.

Queta V.

Yelp
Came to have dinner today like we usually do. What an experience The hostess has a BAD cough, no face mask and she's coughing all in the restaurant. The guy making sushi is eating a sandwich and chips where the chefs are prepping the food WOW

Maks. M.

Yelp
Wasabi is fake and the tobico caviar is a play-doh with coloring. Joe who was our server was real fast and pleasant

Alex A.

Yelp
This place has my favorite sushi roll I've ever tried and it's the bora bora roll. I get it every single time and it never fails me, also service is good. Love ittttt

Katie C.

Yelp
Currently eating here. The sushi chefs are eating in front of us where the rolls and sushi are prepared. Don't come to this location Stone Oak location is best. Thoroughly disgusted.

Steph A.

Yelp
I absolutely love the food here. Always taste great. The staff is super friendly. Place is usually super clean. The music however, makes it feel as if I'm on hold or in an elevator. So not very lively, almost close to something I'd hear at a funeral home.

Andrea G.

Yelp
It breaks my heart to write this review. I used to love it here. Raved about it to anyone that wanted sushi. The past 4 times that we've ordered the food quality has been AWFUL. Mediocre at best. Everyone is always friendly but the To go service always takes longer than an hour. And I would understand if the quality of the food was decent but it's not. I'm a little disappointed this place has gone downhill :(

Kassie B.

Yelp
Showed up at restaurant to take my disabled niece to celebrate her birthday and there was a sign in the door they were closed due to some kind a problems

Tripp W.

Yelp
Very good food I recommend it's very good I recommend highly the summer roll it's good when not deep fried

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Love this location. Our service and food was outstanding. Tried the Res Moon rolled suggested to us by Bella. It was amazing. We will be back soon.

Nanette M.

Yelp
Went to Sushi Zushi for a birthday gathering so a big party but not too big. I don't really leave reviews but this experience definitely deserves a praise. I have to say that our server was AMAZING! I tend to drink fast and my tea and water were never empty meaning he was very attentive not just to me but the whole party. Plates were also picked up promptly, some servers just leave it there until you leave. He was courteous, gave great hospitality and just did an awesome job as a server. We tend to eat out a little too often and haven't had good service in awhile and this experience was breath of fresh air. Thank you Joseph Griggs!!

Dnzel H.

Yelp
Food was honestly pretty good! I really enjoyed the Cajun Roll and my group loved all the rolls we received!

Fernanda F.

Yelp
*COVID-19 EXPERIENCE* The esposo and I order sushi for Yelps Big Night In 2.0 . Through their Instagram we learned they had a date night deal for $35. The deal consists of: - one appetizer: gyoza, edamame or spicy edamame - two sushi rolls: Bull, Cosimo, Bora Bora, LIR or Toreado Scallops. - one dessert: shortcake or krakatoa. The food took about an hour to get home, but everything was very fresh and delicious! Thank you Sushi Zushi for the always amazing service and delicious sushi.

Ashlee R.

Yelp
Upkeep has gone down dramatically over the years. Sucky cushion in the seats from not being replaced after years of being worn down. Same goes for the sticky floors, poor lighting, tables, bathrooms and really everywhere. With floors that act like the sticky fingers of a two year old it's no wonder that I constantly see giant hair wads stuck to it around the bathroom area where the floor mats are likely getting swept. It's hard to have confidence in the cleanliness of the kitchen when no where in the restaurant looks/feels like a deep clean is ever performed let alone the recommended once a month schedule my work history has me expecting from a place with this much foot traffic. Don't think I'll write off all sushi zushi locations, but with the hikes in pricing my expectations for the environment are naturally elevated, let alone Basic cleanliness you expect from Any restaurant.

Brittany K.

Yelp
Service at the bar was slow. I didn't get a menu for almost 15 min. My roll looked sloppy and the HH menu is incorrect to the online one.

Jessica A.

Yelp
Garbage! I seriously can wrap up my entire experience with this one word, but that would not be fair to this platform to describe the quality of this establishment. I'm not sure what happened during the duration of covid for this place to decline so rapidly and exponentially, but I will not be returning. I placed a pick up order that was quoted at 30 minutes only to arrive at 40 minutes and have them tell me it would be at least another 20 minutes. When I asked why, one girl was politely explaining the situation when some other employee decided to jump in and offer her words of wisdom. Maybe if she would continue to do her job and not interfere with conversations that do not involve her, my order would not run late. The manager was not much better at mansplaining the process that could have been easily resolved a a little customer service. Unfortunately, San Antonio doesn't have a great sushi scene so the food did not make up for it. I ordered a handful of their signature rolls to be served up mediocrity on a platter. The Cristina Roll was okay, but who wants to eat OKAY sushi? I will definitely be on the hunt for a new go-to place. I've heard a new one is expected to open soon in very close proximity.

Robert T.

Yelp
Unless they have added live Gnats to the menu I'm really disappointed in the location today. This is the third time we have come and we spent the whole dinner swatting gnats away. They are so big I could of gone karate kid with my chopsticks and caught some. Just ridiculous for the prices they charge! And to have this same issue for this long really shows no one cares to try to fix the issue.

Celeste P.

Yelp
Really good location for a date night, fast service. Happy hour was excellent and our waiter, Kip, was friendly and helpful. Our appetizer, boiled crawfish dynamite was delicious as usual. Kitchen really fills it up to the top!! Jack, Ragin' Cajun and California roll were all delicious.

Tyler F.

Yelp
The girlfriend and I wanted to try a new spot. We decided to give this place a try. The food was amazing! It was so good my girlfriend had to tell me to pause and breath for a few minutes. The jalapeño stuffed poppers with tuna I believe was delicious. Never seen that done before. The flavors that mixed together was awesome. All the rolls were made perfectly. Taste and presentation was beautiful. Our server was very polite and nice and made us feel welcomed. Will be coming back often.

Megan A.

Yelp
Sushi Zushi has to be one of my favorite spots in SA. My bestie Skylar and I went after a day of shopping and we were so excited to go! She doesn't get sushi much because her family doesn't like it so I was happy to show her the wonders of Sushi Zushi. She got the vegetable yakisoba to start and I got my regular (The Jack and Bora Bora rolls) and she also got the Key West. We were highly satisfied with the service although her Key West roll was kinda sauce heavy. It was a delicious meal after a day of shopping.

Cristina W.

Yelp
Sat outside with my dog. Great service, but the food has certainly Changed over time. I got sashimi sampler thinly sliced, no tuna double yellowtail. The salmon looked horrible. The fish has definitely changed. I still give good reviews on the staff!

Steve S.

Yelp
HpI am all for giving a place a second chance, but definitely will not be giving this one a third. The first time I went, I was told I had a 20 minute wait to be seated even though the place was half full, so I went elsewhere. This time I get seated right away, made my order of fired rice, sushi roll and gyoza. I get my dipping sauce for the gyoza, my roll and a soup bowl with a lid on it. I eat the roll, and go for what I thought was soup only to find it as my fried rice....ok. Waitress came by one time to check on my, but thankfully the host stand was watching and I received a refill on my tea. Had my lunch, yes lunch and the waitress came in to ask if I needed anything else.....well the missing gyoza would be nice, but by now I am chalking it up as a loss as I need to get back to work, I have been here 45 mins. I said no to desert and she cleared my table, now I timed it....17 minutes from the time I said no thank you to desert to getting my check. Thankfully the host stand to the rescue as he took my card and bill to run it through. Not the place you want to go for lunch.

Ashley L.

Yelp
Happy hour was perfect after running errands. I had the cucumber melon and tuna tower and they were so delicious. Dani was the best and took great care of us at the bar. So happy to get back to pre pandemic times!

Barrett E.

Yelp
This used to be our favorite place but for some reason the ac has not worked for at least 10 days??!! How is this possible and who is managing this place?

Maiara A.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious! The waiter, Patrick, did not hesitate to make sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend this place not only for the food but also the amazing customer service provided by Patrick.

JaDee W.

Yelp
WOW!!!!!! I haven't had sushi in a long time because normally it's over priced, I'm never full, and it's mostly rice and no fish. This place is AMAZING. First; the staff is super nice. They're taking precautions better than 90% of the other places I've been going too. They had hand sanitizer all around the restaurant; were sitting people more than a booth apart, the menu was scanned on your phone so you didn't have to touch one/ throw it out. The online menu was easy to read, easy to pull up and I loved that most things HAD PICTURES so you actually knew what you were getting. There was a wait when we got there which we didn't mind at all but the staff apologized to us for the wait multiple times which was a really nice but unnecessary gesture. They also took our food allergies very seriously. The food was WOOOOOW. Fresh tasting sushi, sauces were packed with flavor. Their special soy sauce with the orange juice is insane, I'm probably going to try to make that at home. You knew the seafood was top notch because it wasn't overly fishy like cheaper seafood is. If you're in the area, please stop by here. The atmosphere, food, & service is excellent. You won't regret it.

Kirsten H.

Yelp
Love their sushi & it is reasonably priced. Experience is always positive in restaurant & with delivery.

Delilah C.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon with two kids (4&6). We ordered 2 rolls, chicken yakisoba and the kids got bento boxes. Our server was fantastic! She took our orders quickly, didn't rush us though and gave us time to read the menu. My son is a very picky eater and I asked her if possible to remove the fried cheese and rice from his box and replace with some sort of veggie. She said she would figure it out with the chef. My sons plate came out with a bunch of sliced carrots and apples and strawberries. It was probably his favorite meal we ate in San Antonio. The rolls were tasty but the only part that caught us off guard is they didn't have regular soy sauce on the table. Instead they had their own sauce which had a sour taste to it and didn't compliment the sushi well. It was a great experience for our family, our server went above and beyond and we will definitely be back!

A P.

Yelp
I went online and had a 125.00 order in my checkout. The submit button was grayed out and I could not place my order so I called the restaurant. I explained to the young lady that their website wasn't working and I'd like to place my delivery order by phone. She said she had not heard their website had an issue and instructed me to place the order through door dash. Guess what, you didn't want to take my order so we drove over to Sushihana. I felt this was really poor judgement and you lost me as a customer.

Violetta V.

Yelp
I just want to preface this and say I've been to sushi zushi many times and have always loved it. I think it was a great spot to get sushi and had great drinks, I would love to go with my friends and family and always recommended it. But this time it was awful. I went with my family, and even when we walked in it smelled a little off which was whatever I didn't think much of it. But when we sat down we saw a few gnats, which again no big deal. However when we got our appetizers we were SWARMED by gnats. I'm not talking 1 or 2 I am talking 20 around us. It was disgusting, we had to move. Even though we moved, the gnats followed us and they were all over our food for the duration of the meal. Our server was really sweet but did little to help us with the situation. I understand what could she really do to help us but it was really disgusting and disappointing. I felt super grossed out and annoyed the whole meal I couldn't finish my meal. The food was fine but I could not enjoy it because at any given point there were atleast 10-20 gnats around us. This was really disappointing because I love sushi zushi. I have never left a bad review on any restaurant ever so you can imagine how bad it has to be for me to leave a bad review now. I didn't even get a cocktail because I was just so grossed out. I hope sushi zushi gets it together because it used to be such a great place. 0/10 experience I will never be going back.

Melanie J.

Yelp
We went on a Friday night at 7p, waited for an hour but we were not disappointed with the customer service. Our waiter was efficient & full of recommendations. Our favorites of the night were Spicy Edamame and the Cosimo Roll (need to try!). For it being a busy Friday night, our food came out pretty fast. Will be back soon!

John K.

Yelp
Not mad, just disappointed. Service is fine enough. However, the food is low quality to mediocre at best and significantly overpriced for what it is worth. Got the combination teppanyaki meal and some food was burnt, the amount of meat for the cost was embarrassing, and the fried rice I got also smelled old and probably microwaved.

Bon M.

Yelp
The sushi is good but the service is absolutely terrible. We waited 15 minutes before being checked on on a slow Tuesday.

Erica F.

Yelp
We went for quick lunch, we came here because we heard so many good things about this spot and we thought this was a must. the place is pretty ok and the decor is an average decor for a Japanese restaurant. our waiter was so cool and very nice, he knew a lot about the meals and the drinks and hes help was very important for our food order in this visit. the place was not busy at all and that was very convenient as we did have that much time to spare at lunch, the prices are a little high so be advised that this is not a cheap eats by any means, however super worth it. we were there just in time for the happy hour meals and drink so it worked out perfectly. so here is what we had: SZ MOJITO (coconut flavored) somewhat sweet but the cucumber and mint this drink is just the perfect taste you should go for that drink even if you a sweet drink lover. this drink is a must for sure i was completely taken by it and left me wanting more. CRAWFISH DYNAMITE (appetizer) i never had crawfish before so i was a little skeptical and a bit scared of what i was going to think about the dish, what a pleasant surprise! i loved it! it was spicy and fun, the risk was very worth it, what a great dish. COSIMO ROLL hands down the best sushi roll i have ever had, it was intricate and very different, nothing that i have ever had before it was an explosion of flavor with eel sauce, cream cheese and fried roll, you must try this roll for sure. MONTEREY ROLL (California roll with Monterey cheese) it also had the spicy mayo on top, and lets be honest, when theres spicy mayo you cannot go wrong, so this roll did not let us down at all, very exotic and fun. SPICY EDAMAME this is one of their signature appetizers people come here just to have this, we found out today the reason why! this was a flavor to remember and dream about for years to come (just a tip: having the sauce on the side is all and good but it does not compare to it when it is made with the sauce, so when u order this dish dont have the sauce on the side as you wont have the same experience in the flavor) VEGAS ROLL, this was a good roll but not as exciting and impressive as the other rolls we had, so you can skip this one if you want cause this wont nearly be as much as a gastronomic event as the other 2 rolls. then i went to the restroom i was mega impressed with the type of attention to detail they had, as i went in i noticed that they had a ambiance noise with water streams and bird singing it was a nice touch for sure.
