"This venerable Japanese restaurant, led by creative director Daisuke Utagawa and executive chef Piter Tjan, is a Chevy Chase standby. Seeking traditional hand rolls and sashimi? This place has plenty to explore on the regular menu, including a sweet and spicy roll, soft shell crab roll, and crunchy shrimp roll. The singular lunch bento is a popular choice." - Missy Frederick, Tierney Plumb

"Hidden behind Wisconsin Avenue in Friendship Heights, Sushiko serves generous bento boxes at lunch to go along with sushi and sashimi specials. The hot rock wagyu ($19) is one of many excellent hot options. Sushiko also has a happy hour (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) that includes $5 prices on hand rolls, lychee martinis, “lounge lemonades,” and rail drinks." - Lisa Ruland

Lychee Martini is a must try. Great selection of on menu and foods are fresh and fast served. Decoration is simple.

Google
Sushiko is a good addition to Chevy Chase restaurants. The sushi, well prepared -I didn't think that their home sake, which was unfiltered was really any good. They should replace it with filtered sake. In my opinion their other Sakes are too pricey. I had a very nice waiter. She was very helpful and the usual problem in Washington these days their kitchen closes at 9 o'clock, we were served the check because it was time to get out. I sympathize with you know people wanting to make it an early night but no kitchen should close before 10 PM if you asked me especially on weekends but that's an opinion -seaweed salad had mesclun at the bottom-overall a nice place.

Food was good but too small portion for the price they charge. Fish was fresh and the drink was delicious.

Google
TRULY MADLY DEEPLY the best sushi place in all the DMV. It’s hard to put into words how much my family & I love this place. The sushi honestly is better than Japan - it’s soooo fresh & delicious and it melts in your mouth kind of good. So creative and wonderful. All the staff are truly amazing - sooo kind and lovely. Peter the sushi chef is a wizard and the best of the best. My mouth is watering thinking about the sweet & spicy roll 🥹We’ve been regulars for years and have spent many many beautiful life moments here from birthdays, to anniversaries, to introducing my partner to my family, to new years to Hanukkah & Christmas to time together back from school, to life and death and rebirth and everything in between. This spot has a heart of gold both food wise and sushi wise. Cannot recommend it enough!!!!!!!!!!

Google
Last minute Wednesday night stop & it was a perfect choice for an easy late night dinner. We have been before and always love quality of the food. This time did not disappoint! We picked the Bento Box - easy and quick. Service was excellent!! Food cam out quick, high quality, good quantity and absolutely delicious!! I enjoyed a beautiful, well balanced cocktail as well. Highly recommend!!!

Google
The place was beautiful for a start! First time trying sushi especially presented so beautifully. The hostes were more than helpful throughout the entire time and checked in on us constantly! It’s a place I will bring back friends and family.

Google
I ordered take out and while waiting was told to take a seat at the bar. After five minutes of sitting at the bar upper management came over and brought over two people said they needed the seat despite the entire restaurant being empty and said our food would be out shortly. They were not kind about removing me from my seat. This was after I had already paid for all of my food and was about to order a drink at the bar before being interrupted. Furthermore, when my food arrived, my cucumber rolls came already falling apart.

Google
Amazing place- we love Jason— he’s absolutely the best ever! He’s always been super knowledgeable and will give us recommendations. He’s also super happy to see us and remembers us even though we don’t go there often and that means the world to us. Really cool guy and a great server. He is the reason why we go back. 4 stars because the busgirls are weird and have staring problems.

Yelp
I am a Bethessa native and I have to say down Sushiko is my favorite sushi! I have been to many places in the dmv and the quality of the food is top notch and melts in my mouth. Thank you for making such wonderful food. -Anna-Marie Voorthuis

Yelp
This place came highly recommended by one of my friends as one of the better sushi options in the area. My friends and I came for happy hour and very strangely got seated in the restaurant section and ignored for sometime until we inquired. We were told happy hour was not offered in the regular seating section and redirected to the bar, where we were offered both the happy hour and the regular menus. I had salmon crudo and chicken karage and the food was okay but the portions were quite small. My friends had rolls from the regular menu and also tried the hand rolls, which turned out to be a large block of rice and not at all what they were expecting for a hand roll. Overall mediocre sushi experience. Easy metro access.

Frank Y.

Yelp
The best of many unspectacular sushi options in MoCo. Salmon avocado is usually fresh and California roll is made with real crab unlike most. Eel roll and yellow tail roll are also solid, and takeout service is extremely fast. Also usually have some fresh sashimi specials but does not live up to expectations given price. Have not dined in yet but atmosphere and staff seems friendly when I've gone in to pick up food.

Adria M.

Yelp
Great spot. Validates parking. Ordered off the Happy Hour menu that had very reasonable prices and allowed us to try out a lot different of things. Would love to come back.

Inga N.

Yelp
This went downhill since I discovered it a couple of years ago. Every time it is worse than the one before. The time before the last I thought I wouldn't come again, but came again and it was worse. The taste and qualitynis just not there. It is not bad, just very mediocre, not worth the money.

Jenny L.

Yelp
Great place to grab lunch - got the $32 bento box and the fish was super fresh. Went on a Saturday around 11:30 and it was pretty empty and the service was very quick and attentive. They also do validate parking!

Patty H.

Yelp
We love Sushiko and are so happy it's reopened. Tonight we started with the hamachi crudo, so gorgeous, and the Brussels sprouts, which were both salty and sweet - delicious! The bento box is filled with gorgeous nigiri and sashimi, the sashimi was pristine, and the rolls were amazing. Service is always good, with generous pours of wine. It's casual but sophisticated at the same time.

Abe K.

Yelp
Without breaking the bank, you still get high quality sushi here. The only complaint I have about the sushi, and it's really a small complaint, is the sushi comes out very cold, as if it just got pulled out of the fridge. Cooling the fish is necessary to firm up the meat but serving it as such is a little displeasing. Service is great and there's validated parking. This place gets very crowded so make sure you try to get reservations.

Mariana C.

Yelp
Delicious sushi and great service! First time here and will definitely be returning. The hostesses were especially kind to our party. I also think that the prices are very reasonable for sushi and I was very happy with ours choice to come to Sushiko!

Nicholas R.

Yelp
Solid restaurant with great service. Rolls and sashimi are both tasty and never disappoints!

Marisa H.

Yelp
I am so glad Sushiko is back up and running. They were my favorite happy hour place pre-pandemic. While they don't seem to be running HH deals right now, the bar is open and they are still providing amazing takeout. Last night we ordered the bento box and the udon. The bento box is stuffed with fresh nigiri, sashimi, and your choice of roll. All the fish was super fresh. I love their seaweed salad and they give you a big portion. It also comes with miso soup. I love the packaging as well. There udon is delicious and I love that they package the noodles separately from broth so it doesn't get soggy. They come with two tempura shrimp and they add a little container of togarashi spice. It was super quick. Only took 20 minutes from order to pickup. I will happily get takeout from here soon.

Javed S.

Yelp
The sushi and appetizers are very authentic and the taste shows that a lot of thought went into making them. The service is quick and accurate. We ordered the Omakase Sushi (8 piece's).

Peter J.

Yelp
This place is as good as you let it be. Get the specials, Omakase, and whatever the chefs recommend. Summer special Chirashi was the best I have ever had outside of Japan and better than most there.

Miles C.

Yelp
We ordered the bento box special. Lots of food but it all tasted the same. The cocktails were great though.

John C.

Yelp
Delicious sushi in Chevy Chase area. Much bigger place than it looks from the front window. After reviewing several YELP friends and reviews I was ready when I walked in. Salmon ceviche, Brussel sprouts and Wygu appetizer to start. Element roll, spicy tuna and double salmon rolls with the pannacota for dessert. Great meal and great recommendations- Thank you to my Yelp friends.

Dave H.

Yelp
The shrimp tempura roll was pretty good, but the double salmon roll was laughably bad. Better than Whole Foods sushi, but not by much.

Mark L.

Yelp
Back again recently on a very busy Saturday night. We didn't have a reservation but we were able to sit at the last open table for 4. The service was not as rapid as the first visit, but it was instead very well paced throughout the entire meal. The four of us tried a variety of appetizers and fish - all were fantastic. Have to add a star. Love this restaurant.

Dana S.

Yelp
I love Sushiko and go almost every time I work at my part-time job, which is located in the same building. At first I would always get the shrimp tempura roll, and now I am locked in on the tempura udon. It is so perfect and delicious. The food feels very high quality, and is certainly not cheap. It is definitely worth a try to any sushi/Japanese food lovers.

Judy P.

Yelp
Always super fresh, well-crafted sushi and maki rolls. Also great cocktails and nice patio seating.

Karima L.

Yelp
The best takeout sushi sashimi bento in the dmv! Great price for so much food and it's always incredibly high quality. I've ordered multiple times and it never disappoints. Highly recommend.

Mary W.

Yelp
Wonderful experience last night celebrating a birthday. We started with the warm spinach salad, edamame and the crispy Brussel sprouts - all very tasty but especially the crispy sprouts, those were a big hit with the entire table. We ordered several rolls of sushi, including the soft shelled crab, shrimp tempura, rainbow roll, sweet and spicy and my favorite with the tuna tartare. So good. All of it. Excellent. Our server and the hostess were friendly, warm and kind. Pam extended excellent customer service before we even arrived as I called with questions about my reservation. She made the birthday celebration extra special and seated us in a lovely booth. The restaurant itself is lovely. I will definitely be returning - before last night I didn't think I liked sushi. I was wrong. Kudos to sushiko for showing me how good fresh (melt in your mouth!) sushi can be.

Mandy T.

Yelp
Exquisite settings, top-notch food quality, but will burn a hole in your pocket. Would recommend trying at least once

Nilsu G.

Yelp
For several years, I was deterred by reviews focusing on being overpriced. I also didn't realize, looking from outside, that the restaurant expanded into quite a sizable dining room indoors and didn't want to overpay for sushi takeout. I am sure COVID has impacted a lot here, but looking at very old reviews I can see why it has survived all these years. I was very pleasantly surprised with the extensive menu, admittedly at DC prices but nothing to a shocking degree. The ambiance was nice enough for a weekday dinner, and service was quite timely and friendly. It did somehow feel like the tempura batter lacked some salt, but nothing that the tempura sauce couldn't fix. Overall, a decent option in the neighborhood given the lack of immediate Asian options within the block.

Alienor B.

Yelp
Ive only gotten the sushi. Its bad the rice falls apart when you try and pick it up the salmon tastes not fresh and it's hard to eat. Mediocre

Meejee K.

Yelp
Love this place so much and Pam was an amazing server We both had the sushi omakase, wagyu, and fried yellowtail appetizer.

Lew H.

Yelp
Going to a new sushi restaurant is always like rolling the dice. Will I understand the menu? What's the difference between nigiri and sashimi? Will the fish be fresh or will I spend the night puking my guts out??? Luckily, Sushiko is top notch and a great place for sushi - no puking even entered my mind at all! We went there with a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The sushi was inventive, beautifully created, well formed, delicious and filling! The fish was fresh and tasted like sushi should - pure and luxurious. The supply and variety of toro was impressive. The accompaniments like jalapeno, cream cheese, avocado, etc. were simple additions to the star of the show - the fish! The accompaniments added to, and did NOT distract from, the beautifully prepared seafood. The delivery and presentation were outstanding - the plates were even completed with beautiful orchids to jazz up the sushi. I would say that the sushi was prepared and served flawlessly! The atmosphere was adequate. Not overly decorated and not overdone. The dining room was surprisingly small for a Washington DC area restaurant. All in all, the decor was good. The bathroom was modern, well designed and VERY clean (a good sign in ANY restaurant but IMHO especially important in a sushi restaurant). The service was very good. Our server was Jason and he delivered some of the finest service ever. He was knowledgeable about the menu and the fish being presented. He was patient - we had many questions and he never hesitated to answer or seemed like he wanted to move on to other tables. Very well spoken. He certainly added to the dining experience very nicely. I can recommend Sushiko whole heartedly and without reservation (and certainly without puking)!!! The food is great at Sushiko!!!

Thatcher W.

Yelp
I have not been to this place in over 2 years. Now I know why. Their sushi quality is abysmal almost taste on the verge of spoiling. Tonight Order two rolls tonight that I had to dump down the garbage disposal. $50 of garbage! This place used to be very good before Covid. Now it is crap on a good day. Woodmond Grill's sushi is far better and fresher.

Gloria C.

Yelp
Great hidden gem in Chevy chase for sushi!! Came here for a friend's birthday dinner. I would've never found it. It's hidden behind Tiffany's store near the Safeway. There's a little lot in front of it that has two hour free with validation. That you can get from the restaurant. It is a little pricey but they had such fresh tasting sushi! They also have an affordable omakase that I unfortunately didn't get to try. But I def want to come back to try it! They have a range of prices for their rolls. Everything I tried was delicious, but a little small. I didn't leave full, but I was content. Best fresh sushi I've had in the Rockville area! I'm happy to know there's a good sushi place that isn't quite a trek into dc!

Robert C.

Yelp
Had dinner here with friends who recommended the place, but I was not at all impressed. The food was way over priced - $13-$19 for sushi rolls and the options were limited. And the Bento box was $31. There were no options for a large platter or "boat" that we could share. Friends thought that the menu had changed. It used to be a book instead of this very hard to read one pager. I had to borrow reading glasses. While the sushi we ordered was good we did not find enough options to make a meal and I left hungry. There's too many good sushi options around to warrant going back.

Morgan W.

Yelp
I never write bad reviews on Yelp, but given the cost of the food I'd rather others not shell out a chunk of change for this. The fish was great quality, but the sushi was so disappointing due to basic mistakes and carelessness. Please do not put very bitter fake wasabi on such nice pieces of nigiri. Such beautiful pieces of fish treated so poorly :(. And the roll I ordered was hacked up in pieces that were nowhere near uniform. I regretted trying this place instead of my usual choice for higher end sushi - Ogawa. Ogawa is the real deal, skip this.

Sharlene S.

Yelp
Really lovely experience. Service was good and good was so darn tasty. The decor is simple, serine, and pretty. Lots of flowers, great pillows in bar lounge, rock structures and dim lighting. Felt sexy and relaxing at the same time. Allasa our server was super attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and personable. Now onto the food! Brussel sprouts- literally the best I have ever had. Flashbfried to perfection and tossed in a sweet spicy soy glaze. Ahhhhhh!!!!! #besteva Chicken gyoza-nicely flavored, no filler all chicken and veggies, nice pan fry. Spicy tuna roll and Shrimp tempura- both super fresh, rolled tight, nice presentation. Eggplant- lightly breaded and seasoned. Served in a broth. The long it stays in the bowl the breadcrumbs come off and you end up with a crumby soup. Sounds weird, was weird, but I drank it all. Haha. Lobster and scallops- nicely flavored, the green on the side really pulled the dish together. But we only got one tail and one scallop cut up. Come on, lay it on for that price, can we at least get two scallops. #imworthit Sundae-light, sweet and different. Vanilla ice cram, sea salt, milk curds. Served with almond cookies and a Raspberry and lemon sauce. Ginger champagne- really tasty Just go try it out. You won't be disappointed.

Alice J.

Yelp
A gorgeous, upscale Japanese restaurant with tasting (chef) menu and understated elegance. Service can be hit or miss, and toilet is definitely up to par with the rest of the restaurant (too cramped, dirty and lack of upscale feeling). A number of dishes are worth the price. See my pictures. The grilled yellowtail cheeks are beautifully presented and masterfully executed. Grilled with salt only. Simple. Garnished with lemon. You get to enjoy the freshness of it. It's quite substantial too even though it's advertised as a small dish. To use soy sauce at a place like this would be sacrilege. We mostly stuck to tasting the fresh taste of the food presented without adding any thing. The grilled baby octopus and tender and delicious. The sweet flavor of the pickled daikon balanced off the salty flavor of the octopus. Amazing dish. The mussel miso soup is excellent. Love the broth. Do try their freshly ground wasabi! Pricey at $7 but it's fresh. The grill-at-your-table wagyu beef is pricey. Quantity is tiny. Taste is ok. We've had better (grill at your table Japanese grill). Won't come here just for this.

Annie T.

Yelp
Came out to celebrate my birthday. My partner took me for a surprise dinner. Sadly they don't have any birthday specials like a free dessert or anything, but still great for birthday celebrations. I originally thought this place closed down, but randomly found it recently. We're glad we did. We enjoyed the service and the food. Do expect it to he busy even on a weekday. I recommend getting their hot tea to go with the raw fish. We ordered a little too much. The total was a little over 200. For two omakase dishes, 3 rolls, 3 appetizers, and 1 big entree. Their edamame was steamed well and delicious. Both udon and miso soup came out extremely hot which was great since we were cold. The fish was fresh and very pretty. The servers did a great great job explaining each andcrecomendibg the dishes to us.

Justin D.

Yelp
Beautifully crafted nigiri and rolls of sushi! Great drinks and great dessert as well. My server Jason is super knowledgeable and attentive. Really loved this spot!

Madison T.

Yelp
So my first time was a few months ago and I went with my family. We got the salmon ceviche and Ooommmgggg so yummy, I highly recommend!!!! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing.

Evelyn T.

Yelp
I have been here several times, and to be honest, I've always had a great experience. It should be 4.5 stars, but since the food has consistently been good for each visit, I can almost say it's a 5 star (I kept toggling back and forth between 4 and 5). First off, I never realized how amazing the happy hour is here! I've been once, but I guess I forgot how great the prices were, but I remember the food being amazing. My friend and I went here for restaurant week (my most recent visit), and the fish was super fresh and great. Off the restaurant week menu, we ordered the miso soup, the sashimi, and I ordered the nigiri option while my friend ordered salmon that was cooked as raw as possible (which they got right)! The miso soup was honestly too salty...and I kept chewing into crab shell in the soup X:. But it was still enjoyable! In terms of the sashimi/nigiri, sushiko did amazing by the salmon. I almost ordered more. The yellowfish was also great, but the tuna was lacking a bit...I was surprised at how thin the cuts were and chewy it was. The salmon avocado roll was awesome, which happens to be my favorite go-to roll. My friend loved the miso salmon option, she kept raving about it throughout the meal and even when we went to the bathroom! The sweet potato puree was a great touch as well. Last, the green tea ice cream was truly the perfect dessert. I don't like ice cream, but the taste got me going--and I finished a whole ice cream, which I rarely do! I want to give kudos for a waiter tonight, although we had to flag him down the first time, he was super attentive of our table afterwards despite us being a bit away from the main part of the restaurant, and split our ordered lychee drink into 2 glasses for us because we both just wanted to try just 1 (and I honestly drank too much this whole week). Thanks so much!! And yes, the lychee martini was well worth it. Definitely order it :)

Ann P.

Yelp
Great service and a perfect date night joint. They were super accommodating with our newborn and our large uppa baby stroller. If you have an uppa baby you know how big they are and the restaurant was so flexible and made sure my hubby, my baby and I were comfy. The food is delicious and simple. Very fresh uni and scallop which were my favorite dishes.

Kathryn L.

Yelp
What a engaging atmosphere of Service, Fusion Style Sushi, Décor & Ambience. Nikki, our Server was the champion in extending amazing table service during our evening. Her jovial & precise engagement with accommodations, food & wine knowledge unequivocally enhanced our satisfaction. First time dining here. Due to a Friday night we made reservations with a request to sit in the private dining area, that ended up being an intimate space offering 5-6 comfortable leather booths. Other optimal seating preferences are at the Sushi Bar, Bar Area - Pub tables & a small alcove with sofa seating & four mini cocktail tables. There's a spacious enclosed sidewalk patio. Our joyous meal of Japanese flair consisted of Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Salmon Ceviche, Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll, Tuna Six Ways(Nigiri), Tuna Tataki & the Sweet & Spicy Roll. A bottle of Punto Final Malbec accompanied our meal that had a surprisingly fair up-charge. The price-point was reasonable for the quality & proportion of the food as with the location. Daily Happy Hour from 5:30p-7:30p. If driving, they offer parking validation. On Metro - Red Line-Friendship Heights & Sushiko is located behind Clyde's. The creative, exceptionally palatable Sushi & our Server Nikki's A+ service, provided us with a splendid dining experience. Look forward to a return visit.

Una D.

Yelp
I came here after a heavy bout of tennis and I really was craving sushi. This really hit the spot. I got the spicy tuna roll. It was quite good!. I do wish that the portion size was a bit bigger given the price however I was happy with the quality. There is no parking lot and it is easy to find parking in the neighborhood and walk. Service is all fine. I did not even endorse because at the time I visited they were only doing takeout. I'm glad I had the experience and I would probably come back

Judith T.

Yelp
Good food but way overpriced. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars. I'll be back when they bring back Happy Hour even if a bit more expensive. It used to draw an interesting crowd too. That was one of the most fantastic values in DC.

Angela P.

Yelp
Update: Chef Henry & Peter, the original chefs of Sushiko has made an epic return and he's on fire!! I'm so excited to hear the omikase portion of Sushiko will be open soon. Totally worth the blizzard weather out here to hear the good news.. There is no secret that my favorite place to foodie out on sushi is still Sushiko. I love that the quality of the raw offerings are paralleled in focus with the cooked dishes as well. It's always neat to see surprises on the menu like the hot stone wagyu and they always seem to have a rare, fresh catch to excite us with. My recent favorite discovery is their diverse sake and wine list. As a DC native I've searched for years with the best of both worlds and have yet to find a better selection of junmai daijinjo. Not to mention picks on the wine list from Orin Swift... heaven. See my previous review for my favorite dishes. Tips: private lot behind giant - parking 2 hour free with validation.

Marc F.

Yelp
What a great experience all around! Went here for the first time and we were blown away with the quality of the options and food. We have the tenderloin that is cooked on a very hot rock, the sauce was so good and meat excellent. Sashimi was very fresh and the rolls were some Of the best we have ever had. We will be back. One thing you will get with my reviews is a straight forward honest review. I So sick of reading about these rude customers of establishments who are probably a pain to deal with complain about the smallest things. Yelp is to review the experience not complain behind your computer because you were too scared to bring up your complaints at the time service was given. Most restaurants want you to be happy and will do all they can to make sure you leave happy!

Jamil S.

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant. They have an extensive -- and expensive -- Japanese menu. I enjoy dining there when I know in advance what I want to eat -- when I don't, I tend to overeat and overspend. One quality of Sushiko that tends to be overlooked is that it is a good place to bring teens who are unfamiliar with Japanese cuisine -- they can order a variety and taste from the plates of others. For me, I find I can get good Nigiri in other restaurants where the pieces are smaller. At Sushiko, the Ramen (noodle), Shumai (dumplings), and spare ribs -- i.e., cooked dishes that Sushiko makes very well and are not similarly good elsewhere. Finally, I find service at Sushiko to be outstanding.

Jill B.

Yelp
Another great dinner ... ask for Pam. She is awesome. The shrimp tempura rolls were so good !

Leanne G.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great service. Higher prices than I would have expected for a $$ restaurant. Had dinner here with a group of six adults and two kids. They were able to seat us without a reservation and were accommodating of our needs - including splitting the check 5-ways. The food was delicious and fresh. I had the wild mushroom soup in a light broth. It was very delicate - a nice alternative to miso. I also had the hamachi crude which included sashimi hamachi, grapefruit slices, jalapeño, and an amazing sauce that I wish I could have drank. Although the portion was small, it was amazing. But that just wasn't enough food so I had to get a roll, too. Very nice ambiance. It was too loud to hear our whole party, but that wasn't unexpected. Overall, delicious food and good service, but a little expensive.

Hala M.

Yelp
I love their sushi and the service. Every thing is fresh, been going to SushiKo when they were located in Glover Park!

Fred K.

Yelp
My parents wanted to dine here and have been here previously and enjoyed myself. We had a good time here. Originally we came here for their happy hour specials and the menu was quite limited. We ordered drinks with Zack, a friendly bartender, who makes some excellent dry gin or vodka martini's, then proceeded to sit down at main dining room! My party had a real good time here and this the four star ratings. I did go a little overboard, so the price was a bit high, by getting the toro tuna appetizer ($39.50) and waygu beef on hot rocks appetizer ($16?). Felt luxurious, these two food items. Yum. If I could afford it, I would order just these two dishes and be happy man. The sushi/sashimi didn't disappoint, but for the rolls, I think imo, put too much rice. Save room for their desserts too. Nicely decorated space with great service. Highly recommend this place for special occasion place or get a drink or two and some apps with their happy hour menu.

Crystal Y.

Yelp
In town for a few days, I was craving some sushi and found Sushiko. I was seated at the bar without a reservation and the $65 five-course omakase caught my eyes. I went for it and did not disappoint. Started off with a crab meat on seaweed and cumber as appetizer, then came the sashimi of salmon, toro and kanpachi. My favorite was the duck breast on porridge with sakura. I almost licked the plate lol The porridge has a smokey flavorful from the duck and it was heavenly. Then came the nigiri of California uni, seared toro, otoro and kanpachi. Lastly it's a homemade cherry blossom and honey ice, which was honestly a bit disappointing as I didn't taste any cherry blossom and it became very sweet very quickly. Being the only sushi place nearby, I am happy to return. They do get busy so be mindful of that if you have a larger party.

It was a very pleasant evening. We were four people, spanning three generations. The older members of our party were known to really enjoy Japanese food. The younger ones had limited previous familiarity. These blends of taste needed to be addressed. Oand our choices of foods succeeded in blending good balance and a very pleasant blend of tastes. We had an excellent set of Pork Ribs -- those were adequately cooked but still very juicy. Those were followed by crispy Brussel Sprouts, which were delicious. And then, each of us followed with a Sushi Roll. Mine was a Sweet and Sour Roll. The salmon and rice were perfect -- and the complement of sauces, spices and attached veggies lent truly outstanding balance. I recommend this restaurant very highly.
