I went in with very tepid expectations. I left pleasantly surprised.
I normally try to dine at local establishments, especially when I'm travelling. However, this restaurant was chosen by my travel companions, and I went along for the ride.We were late, so we weren't upset that there was a small wait for our table. Ambiance was exactly what you'd expect: lots of interesting lighting, and a lot of tourists.
There is an omakase that looks like a good deal if you go with one or two other people, but we had a large group, so we went family style and ordered a bunch of stuff for the table.
The food started coming out really quickly, and our server coursed all of the different dishes really well. The rock shrimp was a crowd pleaser. The marinated sea bass was excellent! There were assorted sushi rolls, that were all really good. Someone ordered the Ribeye skewer, that was over peruvian corn - the ribeye was good, but i could not get over the corn. They should really consider giving that corn its own dish! I ordered the mushroom tobanyaki, which was a good move, because nobody could keep their chopsticks away from that dish.
My advice would be to really take your time with the menu, and don't be afraid to get adventurous. The most enjoyed dishes we had were all sleepers, that would have been super easy to overlook in favor of a more familiar menu item.
