The Fried Cheese Wonton was sweeter than I'm used to, but they were delicious! The Volcano Roll is delightfully spicy, but not too too spicy. The Lobster Roll was fantastic! Definitely our favorite. The Pork Gyoza was pretty standard and delicious as you would expect. From someone who is nervous to try new places, Sushiya did not disappoint!

I’m from Taiwan, and finding sushi this perfect here was such a delight! The sushi was incredibly delicious and truly authentic. The environment was quiet and peaceful — my mom and I were tired from walking, and sitting down here to enjoy such tasty, reasonably priced food made us genuinely happy. If you come across this restaurant, you absolutely have to try it!

I love Sushi Ya! They serve quality sushi at a reasonable price. Their plating is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for a small gathering. Highly recommend! 🍣✨

Food tasted great! I lole the simplicity of the place and the prices are good desl for the quality being offered. They do takeput not sit ins. Grest miso soup and sushi, the wontons tasted a bit too sweet not crunchy enough.

Ordered takeout for dinner on a weeknight. Everything we had was delicious and tasted fresh. The sushi fish was so good, it melted in your mouth! We paid under $60 for all items pictured, which was more than enough for 2 people. Will definitely be back.

This is a no frills, mind your business, know what you want, get in get out place. But food is fresh and really good portions for the price. Go inside and wait quietly till someone address you. If you’re gonna get offended because some basic American manners are not address then leave this place alone with your sensitive ass review. Or get delivery. There’s no seating. We got a soda, 6 rolls and sashimi entree total was $118. Next time tipping more. This was bomb. Fed 4 adults and everyone very full. We ate everything. There were no leftovers. They are rolls are packed with fish and toppings. They don’t skimp. They give good rice ratio. You can tell they’re not trying to pad the rolls with rice. This is my go to sushi place.

I see this a very highly rated sushi place. There could be a tiny possibility that most of that isn't for the vegetarian sushi. Though the menu had a ton of vegetarian options, the rolls themselves were only so-so. Pumpkin tempura roll and sweet potato tempura roll lacked a bite that's generally expected out of them. I did like the shitake cucumber roll though and the spicy tofu avocado roll wasn't too bad either.

Thought I found a new chicken wing spot, but received raw chicken instead. You will be hearing from my lawyers

Please bring back the Eagle Wing roll, it was literally my favourite chef roll in Philadelphia! The new Chinese fusion menu looks good but your sushi was always the highlight, would love to see that one come back

Sushi Ya was pretty solid on their 3 roll lunch special, with tax it's $15. The miso soup is standard with all of these take out style sushi spots. It's okay, bland ish, and had ONE tofu in it. It's a pet peeve of mine that all these places skimp on the cheapest ingredients, both the seaweed and silk tofu are pennies when you divide it into a soup. I got the spicy shrimp and avocado, shrimp tempura, and yellowtail jalapeno. All were well made for the price and standard. I wouldn't hesitate to order from here again when craving a decent deal for sushi rolls

Nothing out of the norm. It was difficult to place my order at first, my phone call kept getting passed on to the next person because they couldn't speak English very well but eventually my order was placed and the sushi was decent!

I was actually very very surprised that their sushi was so good. I had been avoiding them for years. Then a friend had gotten the lunch special and I could not believe that I liked their sushi rolls. That prompted me to place my own order. It's a takeout spot so you aren't going to make dinner plans here, but I will recommend their sushi. I may have to peruse the menu and see what else I can try.

Quality takeout sushi for an unbeatable price! The fish tasted fresh, great ratio of fish to rice, and very convenient pickup system. 3 rolls and a soup for lunch under $15 with their quality is an amazing deal. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a lunch option in the area!

I've been ordering from here for like two years and it never disappoints. I get the three roll combo and i'd call it a good deal. They don't skimp on the fish or put too much rice and everything tastes very fresh and good quality. You get a soup or salad with the combo and I think it's cheaper to call in than to order on an app.

Food, and service was great. They took care of us even tho they are just delivery. But they accommodated us. Thanks for that extra push. Very tinny place but cozy.

This spot is my go-to on Uber Eats and have never been disappointed with my order. I live in North Philly, so my orders arrive relatively quickly. Everything is always fresh and the perfect temperature when it arrives. I usually order during lunch time and order the sashimi lunch or 3 roll lunch special. The lunch specials are great deals and the fish is the best I've ever gotten through delivery. I've only gotten the salad a few times but I love how there's masago in the dressing. High recommend!!!

Ordered the 3 roll lunch special for pickup. Food was done on time which was convenient for a quick grab and go because parking around this area is pretty limited. Lots of different roll options you can choose from for the lunch specials. The sushi rice was nice and soft, flavored right, and the fish was fresh. Came with a choice of miso soup or salad.

Fresh fish served in good portions and at a near reasonable price is difficult to find. Sushiya accomplishes that. I ordered the Tuna and Salmon Lunch. Six (6) pieces of sushi on rice, and a spicy tuna roll, served with a green salad, and my expectations were exceeded. You have a choice of soup or salad. My only gripe was that the salad is nearly all lettuce. Otherwise, it was a delicious lunch that hit the spot, and I'd highly recommend.

We love this place! Apps & Entree: The food is always fresh and of high quality (not to mention delicious!) I had tried sushi maybe once before trying this spot and I look forward to coming back and trying new rolls! We enjoy the vegetable dumplings, edamame, & Fried veggies (super filling). Desert: I'm a stickler for a traditional tiramisu but I love their tiramisu cake, so light and delicious! But, their chocolate slice is to die for! It's rich but as soft as a could. I enjoy the green tea mochi for a light treat. It's so refreshing and tasty. Same goes for the Taro boba (bubble tea). Both the Mochi and boba were first time tries and I just hope they taste as amazing everywhere! The owners are a lovely couple that enjoy sharing their culture and food with the neighborhood. Which really makes the whole experience so much better. Can't wait to order from here again!

Visiting from Boston, and this is the first time trying this place for myself. I've tried many places from all over MA and NY, and this place is one of the best for take-out/delivery! 10/10 sushi and very friendly staff! Things that set them apart from others: 1) The fish quality (amazing) 2) The fish to rice ratio is one of the best that I have ever had. (the spicy rolls had a good amount of fish to them vs. tempura crumbs in other places) 3) Reasonable price for the portions/quality If you are ever in the area, give this place a try! I'll definitely be back every time I visit Philly.

When it comes to sushi, they do not mess around. Super fresh and quality food! Let's dive in .... Bubble Tea (5/5): We got the mango milk tea and the flavor was sweet and milky and the tapioca balls were perfect. Far exceeded expectations but the drink leaked slightly. Edamame (3/5): Cooked fine but missing salt. Spicy Kani Salad (4/5): This is a quality dish with nice flavor and texture combo between the kani and cucumber. Would have been nice to have this over a larger bed of lettuce and greens. Tokyo Dumpling Soup (3/5): The miso flavor is nice but the vegetables sadly have little flavor. The dumplings fell apart a bit and the inside of them were alright. Spicy Scallop Avocado Roll (5/5): Wow -- they don't mess around with quantities. This roll was overflowing with scallop and avocado! Both were incredibly fresh. Philadelphia Roll (5/5): Similarly, this roll was packed with fish and avo plus they include a nice dollop of cream cheese. Vegetarian Dragon Roll (5/5): Honestly one of the best vegetarian rolls I've ever tried. The shiitake, avocado, cucumber and crunch come together quite nicely for the perfect flavor and mouthfeel. Peanut Avocado Roll (5/5): Really good with lots of peanut and plenty of avocado too. (Notice a theme here?) I'm stuffed after this! TL;DR: Best sushi I've tried in Philly so far and you won't leave hungry. Will 100% be back!

I have ordered takeout here at least 10 times in the last few months and it is consistently outstanding. Very reasonable prices for very fresh sushi.

I ordered online because they seem like a pick-up shop. I had the 3 roll combo of spicy tuna, spicy shrimp avocado roll, and yellowtail jalapeño roll and vegetable tempura as a side. It came with a free miso soup, utensils and napkins. They were ready to pick up in 20 minutes. The food was a good amount for two people and really yummy!

Absolutely delicious! Definitely my new go to Japanese spot. Everything I ordered tasted amazingly fresh and high quality. I don't have a single complaint. The sushi & sashimi for one was perfect and the pork gyoza must have been great because my girlfriend ate all 6 before I could try one lol. The taro bubble tea was delicious as well. Stop looking for a place to eat and just order from here already!!! This place just opened and I really hope they does well because food this good at a fair price needs to succeed.

I ordered from DoorDash and it was good. The sushi was so delicious. The pieces were so big and fresh. I enjoyed my sushi a lot and would order again!! It came fast and they were okay with my request. I had wanted 2 orders of the Philadelphia roll instead of 1. The DoorDash didn't have that option but I added it as a request!

This 'hole in the wall' spot is literally the best takeout sushi restaurant in Philly.

I am in love with this place. It's close to Temple University, has amazing sushi, and wonderful staff. The order is always ready right on time and the fish is always fresh. Also, they have great Thai tea, just the right amount of milk and tea. Their prices are affordable and arguably serve better quality fish than some of the higher end restaurants. Definitely try it!

By far one of the best sushi spots I've come across in Philly the lunch specials are fabulous and will absolutely be ordering again!

I am not exaggerating when I say the food at this place is EXCELLENT. Two days in a row now we've ordered and I have not one complaint. My go to sushi spot from now on and I've been telling all my friendS! P.s if you're debating on the fried cheesecake, just get it! It's amazing.

I just moved to the area and decided to try this sushi spot on a whim - DELICIOUS and such kind employees! Very yummy and would definitely recommend their dinner special for the price and taste

Hidden gem. Ordered a tempura chicken roll and it was very fresh and delicious, so much better than all the other chicken restaurants around here lol. The drinks were also great! I'm always happy to find anything taro flavored

The sushi here is some of the freshest I have had in Philadelphia. The rolls are a great size, if you order one of the specials, you get a lot for your money. So much better than anything else in Northern Philly.

I live a few blocks from this place and I can't believe I didn't know about it sooner! I ordered the spicy crunch crab roll. I love spicy and this was the perfect amount of kick. I also got the crab wontons. These were also great! Ordered on Grubhub and it said it would be ready in 30 minutes, they had it ready in 15. The girl handed me the bag right as I walked through the door. Great customer service!

Wow! Fantastic addition to the neighborhood! Great value, fresh, delicious flavors, generous portions, friendly service. We got a yummy, just-right-sweet bubble tea, seaweed salad, and a dinner combo w three rolls and miso soup. Everything was ready early, packaged perfectly, and really delicious! Quite literally the freshest sushi for the best price. I've never been disappointed ordering from here. I almost want to give it a bad rating so it doesn't blow up and get busy The fish (especially the salmon) is always so fresh and the workers are nice and quick. 10/10

I have lived in the neighborhood for many years and I was so happy when this place opened up. I typically get the lunch special and I have rarely been disappointed. The price for the portions you get are typically amazing, especially the amount of tuna and salmon in the rolls. Highly recommend trying them out!

Love it here so fast and good! I'm vegetarian and they have many vegetarian options. The matcha bubble tea was gross and tasted like straight powder but the mango one made up for it.

My new go-to sushi spot for sure! The food was delicious, and they even gave us a free order of mochi ice cream which was so nice. Will definitely be ordering again.

just enjoyed my first order here: my verdict is that this place is solid. sashimi, unagi dan, all the salads, a quart of the ginger dressing (yes, i took a gamble and won big time) = perfection. will be back again and soon!
