We stopped into SusieCakes for the first time and were immediately greeted with the warmest service from Maddie! She took the time to recommend her favorite treats, and we could tell right away that she truly loves what she does. Everything in the bakery looked and smelled absolutely amazing — it was hard to choose! On Maddie’s suggestion, we tried the peanut butter chocolate cupcake and the 7-layer bar (which has pecans and coconut), and WOW — both were incredible! You can really taste the difference in their handmade desserts. The flavors were rich, balanced, and downright delicious. We’ll definitely be back to try more! Thank you, Maddie, for making our first visit so sweet! 🍰✨🧁😊

Susie Cakes are my favorite!!!!!!!!!! I recently went and I was absolutely blown away by the quality and taste of their cakes. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The selection of cakes was impressive, with a variety of flavors and designs to choose from. I decided to purchase their vanilla, red velvet and lemon cupcake, and it did not disappoint. The cake was moist, rich, and had the perfect balance of sweetness. The attention to detail in the decoration was also remarkable. The staff was incredibly helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. Susie Cakes always meets my expectations and I will definitely be returning for more delicious treats. Highly recommend!

Delicious, beautiful cupcakes. I like a big variety, delicate taste, pretty design, beautiful packaging and timely delivery. Our go-to cupcake place for birthday celebrations at work and home.

Order a cake for my sister that lives in San Diego because I couldn’t be there for her birthday. I used Uber eats, I paid extra for them wright happy bday color pink. My sister send me this pic. First the sprinkles seems like they just threw them on the cake. Small cupcake was nice gesture, but I wished they could had called me, if that was the case I would just got her cupcakes. I wanted her to have a cake says happy bday and her name. Very disappointing.

Very cute cake, cookies and cupcake bakery, located in the shopping plaza across from Sephora and next to salt and straw. Awesome friendly, attentive staff. Prices are modest too high. They offer a vast variety of legendary cake flavors. Chocolate, coconut, carrot, lemon, red velvet just to name a few. Great cupcakes day one, but day 2 dry. When I say day 2, we bought a dozen and had 7 remaining. We attempted to each them the next day but they dried out. Which is extremely disappointing since the previous day we enjoyed them. With that being said, the cakes slices remained moist. I picked up a dozen of cupcakes chocolate, vanilla, lemon and red velvet cupcakes for a birthday party plus 3 slices of cake (carrot, lemon, and red velvet). Will try again

I was invited to a birthday party/wedding at a friend's house and was faced with your old fashioned chocolate cake. I cut a narrow, yet tall, slice, and decided to taste. I was waiting for the margarine taste to hit my palate. It didn't come. Instead, my mouth was filled with chocolate taste. I took another bite. The cream inside and icing outside were just perfect. I stared at my plate, hardly believing it could taste like my childhood chocolate cakes. I took another bite (mind you, I wasn't talking to anyone around me, I was so mesmerized). Now I'll be disappointed, I thought. Nope. Bite by bite, top to bottom, the Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake was perfection. It didn't disappoint. Shocked that I had it all (I never expected to finish it) I looked for a garbage can to shamelessly dispose of my empty plate. Thank you. I will never forget that taste. ❤️

Google
Bought two slices of cake, the Lemon and Tropical. The lemon cake was fresh and moist with the filling tasting like lemon pie!!! The buttercream frosting was too sweet and if I would have the option I would order a cake to be made without frosting! People there were extremely friendly and next time would like to try a freshly baked cookie or cupcake.

How to solve the mystery of the dry cupcake Still looking. Nothin Bundt Cakes didn't solve it. Babycakes is in the ballpark but not on any base. And disappointingly Susie Cakes also missed the mark. While on the other hand, Susie Cakes extra whipped, smooth texture, light and fluffy formulation of the buttercream icing should be patented. As a firm believer that desserts can be eaten before dinner, this quarter eaten dessert was soooo sweet, it required a dinner and was not returned to. I also tried the chocolate chip cookie. It's one of those cookies that didn't require milk. Crisp edges and just enough chocolate chips that won't make you thirsty. Yet, I still would choose Cravory, P-Zookie and the infamous Doubletree Cookies before Susie's. I'm certain Susie's treats were a hit at PTA meetings, Girl Scouts shin-digs and bakery cook-offs. Perhaps the commercialization of the ingredients sabotaged the integrity. What I find deceitful is the additional 22 cents for employee health fee that appeared on my receipt. If the business is not able to afford this cost either vote for socialism or a location that is affordable. And definitely make this signage transparent. Yelp
I'm so appreciative of the staff at Susiecakes Del Mar! I stopped by last Friday to pick up an engagement cake for my friend and found out he ordered to the wrong location. The manager was so understanding and helpful. She figured out that the cake was ordered to the wrong location and made me the same exact cake on the spot. The cake itself was very tasty! It was so moist and the red velvet flavor was so good!! Everyone enjoyed it. I would not hesitate to order another special occasion cake from Susiecakes!

Yelp
We recently tried the Vanilla Celebration cake and it was absolutely phenomenal! The buttercream frosting is superb and even the cake part was just so delicious. It was a multi-layer cake, so you can taste the deliciousness in every bite. It had confetti throughout the inside & sprinkles on top and it was so beautiful. We could taste how it was made with very fresh and only the best ingredients. The staff is very nice and helpful and the bakery itself is really cute. They also have cupcakes and other desserts there. You can order ahead and when you come in your cake or order will be waiting for you. I highly recommend Susie's Cakes for any of your desserts!

Yelp
Susie Cakes celebrated her Golden Birthday on July 15 2023 and I went to join the celebration which featured a buy one get one free cupcake deal. Vanilla cupcake had a light pink frosting which was incredibly sweet like it was made of pure sugar.  Loved the vanilla flavored cake portion which was fluffy with a sweet vanilla flavor. Strawberry lemonade cupcake had very sweet frosting which tasted a bit like pineapple to me.  Loved the flavor of the cake part which started with vanilla cake and had strawberry pieces embedded in it. Strawberry cupcake had a vanilla flavored cake base with sweet strawberry frosting. Sugar cookies had a bit of crunch on the outside while the inside was soft.  Nice sweet flavor.  Reminds me of Corner Bakery's version only fresher.  Very tasty. Molasses cookie was soft and had a fresh molasses aroma.  Very tasty. Chocolate chip cookie was soft and full of chocolate flavor.  One of my favorite cookies. Summer berry cake was moist and fluffy.  Center was filled with sweet strawberry pieces.  Loved the mix of flavors from the yellow cake, strawberries, and the whipped cream frosting. Orange cranberry cake was soft and moist.  Loved the flavor of the cranberries and the texture of the berry piece which complimented the orange flavor.  Delicious. Susie Cakes has awesome cookies and moist flavorful cakes.  The cupcakes were very good but I don't like the frosting.  Happy Golden Birthday Susie Cakes!

Yelp
Great place to get a dessert in One Paseo. The cupcakes were sweet, but not too sweet. They had many flavors and there's something for everyone here. They also have a tiny section to buy cards and other celebratory items. There's always parking, but the parking structure is a bit tight so there's always a jam. Just park in the parking structure at the top it's always open.

Yelp
I am not a big cake person, I never scream for a slice of cake at someone's party. They are always too fake tasting to me with the ganache, fondant, cheap frosting, straight corn syrup sprinkles etc you get the ick. Just not for me. However for my birthday, I knew if I was going to have a cake it had to be one that was to die for... enter SusieCakes into the chat room. Ding ding ding. I saw they had my ultimate childhood favorite cake flavor even as an adult girlie... behold FUNFETTI CELEBRATION BIRTHDAY CAKE. That's just my favorite what can I say. I put in an order for the big one to feed up to 12 I believe and it was incredible. In the pricey end but please trust me and get your next cake from here. It was plenty for our party of 15 and not a single crumb was left. It was absolutely delicious and I really don't wanna speed up time but can my next birthday come he he! Yummy If you want to try just a slice, go in and get yourself one. They have a cute selection of all of their cake flavors by the slice.

Yelp
We promised our family we would bring dessert for Easter and Susie's Cakes did not disappoint. The whole family loved it! It's personally one of the best cakes I've ever had. I adore the frosting and the layers of moist cake. I also appreciate that they were able to take in our order fairly last minute. I know Easter Sunday was a very busy time for them. Our hearts and taste buds couldn't be more grateful. Further, I want to note that when my husband and I walked in to pick up the cake there was a line. The staff was working quickly to assist everyone and they were still friendly on top of that. We will certainly be ordering again for other family gatherings and celebrations.

Yelp
This is by far the most adorable dessert shop I have seen. They have so many options on desserts too. Cake, cupcakes, etc. I got the confetti cake and it was absolutely amazing. Susie cakes is located in a cute little shopping area with restaurants, shopping and a free parking garage. 10/10 recommend!!! Service was also great here considering we came close to closing. Quick service too!!!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
First off, get their seasonal coconut pineapple cake. It's to die for, absolutely delicious, moist, and such a hearty slice! This is a pretty busy shop, but the service is quick and friendly if you're in there to just do a quick slice, cupcake, or ready-made service. I have not ordered anything from them but I have appreciated the quality of their desserts and I am possibly considering ordering from them for my upcoming wedding. It's a clean and spacious enough shop, and they now have a new points/earning system and app. If you download the app and sign-up they give you a free cupcake! That's a pretty SWEET deal ;).

Yelp
This SusieCakes is located at One Paseo. Staff are so friendly here. This place is really cute and nicely decorated. We were craving a quick dessert so I just tried out the champagne cupcake. The cream was so buttery and delicious. Didn't taste much champagne though, it was more of just a vanilla cupcake. While the cream wasn't too sweet, the actual cake was overwhelmingly sweet to me! I wouldn't recommend if you're like me and more into Asian desserts that aren't too sweet, but it was definitely worth a try! The cake was one of the most moist cakes I've ever had. Not dry whatsoever.

Yelp
Their online order system is super convenient and easy if you need a cake for a special occasion! I needed a gender reveal cake on short notice (most shops need advance notice), but they were super accommodating and were able to take my order (i just had a friend drop off the gender info for me). The cake was beautifully created, tasted amazing, and looked so professional. All i had to do was add my own cake topper :)

Yelp
The customer service is excellent here. My friend purchased her custom wedding cake from here and it was soo freaking good I had to come back and try it for myself. We got the Chocolate cake Red velvet cake Marble cake Carrot cake The chocolate and marble cakes were my favorite as I've been craving chocolate. The carrot cake has golden raisins Anna the red velvet was solid. All the cakes were incredibly moist. I highly recommend this place for cakes.

Make sure to order your cakes in advance or if it's last minute they always have an amazing variety on hand as well!!

Yelp
The place is small and cute. Cakes look delicious and so do the cupcakes. The employees were helpful and answered questions to their best of ability when asking about shipping. We got the: Peanut butter cookie, which was soft and tasty. Chocolate Chip Cookie, which my son and wife loved. And the Woopie Cookie, as the sign said "Back by Popular Demand." It was a Cookie Cookie with a Butter Cream Filling. The outside of the cookie was crispy which at that time my wife said she wished it was softer. When I got to the center it was soft and I told her to try it now and she didn't and liked that part better. Which I enjoyed the whole cookie. I wish we could've ate it there but there was only one table and people had put their stuff there. Great Place.

Yelp
Absolutely love Susie cake! My favorite cake is the celebration cake with blue frosting. If you sign up for their birthday program you get a free slice of cake on your birthday.

Yelp
SusieCakes made my cake for my small wedding, and I couldn't be happier. I could not have a cake tasting since I live so far from the shop, but after hearing others praise their cupcakes, I trusted that they would deliver a delicious cake for my special day...and they did! The cake was perfect, and all of my guests raved about it. I ordered a simple vanilla cake, which was moist and very flavorful. It's sweet, so a little goes a long way. I ordered a 9" round which was more than enough for the 20 people at my wedding (with plenty leftover afterward). I highly recommend this cake shop and can't wait to visit again in the future!

Yelp
I ordered a Black 3 tiered wedding cake for my daughter's Halloween wedding and Susie Cakes 1000 percent understood the assignment! The cake not only looked amazing but was delicious!! It was red velvet inside and was moist. They were able to do all tiers in 6layers so it had that "tall" look just like the Pinterest photo I showed them! Wedding cakes can be expensive and this was half the price of the Flour Power quote I got and that bakery told me that they couldn't even do exactly what I wanted!! I would give Susie cakes 10 stars if I could! Thank you to your entire staff!
google avatar

Erika R.

Yelp
Only 3 stars because a big order I was picking up was allegedly stolen BUT the staff delivered it free of charge the next day. I was given the task to pick up 7 dozen cupcakes and 1 small cake for a wedding. The staff member helping me, Andrea, stated they were picked up already. The bride confirmed I was the only one assigned to do so. I pointed at the visible security cameras on the ceiling and asked Andrea if she can show me who did it, but she said the cameras don't work. She said they don't check IDs for pickups either. Did they really let a random person who supposedly name dropped the bride walk out with a giant order or were they just not ready on time although the order was placed well in advance? Thankfully, Andrea was quick to offer to bake a fresh new order and deliver it herself to the venue for the wedding the next day. She also stated that the cupcakes should be eaten the same day. The order did end up being delivered since I did see them at the venue the next day! I had given Andrea all the wedding details and she communicated with the wedding coordinator so I'm not sure how it all went about. It was a very frustrating and stressful experience to tell the bride her order was allegedly already picked up and to walk out empty handed hoping for the best. There was no apology or compensation from Susie Cakes. Hopefully they begin confirming people who are picking up orders and/or preparing the orders on time.

Yelp
Fast & beautiful work! (BEST place in San Diego to get a gorgeous & tasty birthday cake within a 24-hr notice!). The old-fashioned chocolate cake was a big hit!
google avatar

Kayiona G.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a while!! The inside is super cute and I love the teal colors. I got a red velvet and vanilla cupcake. They had the cutest valentines day sprinkles on top. My favorite was the vanilla because it was super light and had a good ratio of frosting to cake. I am not the biggest fan of cream cheese frosting, but I liked the flavors of the red velvet. I would honestly come back here to try the cakes even though the prices are a little high.
google avatar

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Enjoyed my visit here. Salt and Straw does not have good flavors this month (not a big fan of the Dec. series) so I popped in here for a sweet instead. I got a carrot cake slice, which was giant. It tasted a little too sweet but there was tons of cream cheese frosting and overall it was a very good piece of carrot cake. I also got the flourless chocolate cupcake. It's a little expensive for the size ($5 for a small cupcake) but it is quite delicious. So the treats overall were 4.5 stars and then just a little off because they aren't cheap! But I would come here again for a special treat.
google avatar

Tiffany A.

Yelp
Loved how you can get cake by the slice! And a large portion at that! Cookies were also so tempting and it did not disappoint! Would definitely try out again or even order a whole cake for a special occasion.

Yelp
Alright, please don't come at me but I have to say this gotta be THE BEST LEMON CAKE! I even added this gem to my wedding scrapbook because I would like this cake at my wedding! Super duper moist, doesn't crumble and the buttercream frosting with the sugar bits is top tier. I forgot to ask for the name of the employee who help me choose between the lemon cupcake or the slice (If she's reading this, I went around 12:30 on thursday August 10) THANK YOU!! Y'all give her raise please! Because that slice of LEMON was delicious, moist, that layers of lemon curd just added the right amount of tartness, sweet yet not overly powerful. I do love my lemon flavor things, so this isn't for everyone. Aquire taste. She also packed the box secure, tape all three flaps and packaged it so well, I had to take this back home and it was safe. I'm sorry but SPRINKLES got nothing on them LOL! (Depends on which location you go to) But I'm now a Susiecake gal. I might have to order this LUSCIOUS LEMON CAKE for my birthday. or for any occasion, heck, if you're reading this and you love cake, go TREAT YO SELF! A couple of stores down is Salt and Straw, go get yourself ice cream and make yourself an ice cream cupcake or cake. TREAT YO SELF! GET BOTH! LIFE TOO SHORT TO GET ONE DESSERT!
google avatar

Yelp
We picked up a marble cake. Really good, the chocolate chips inside were a nice touch. My only complaint is that it was SO sweet. If they cut the sugar it would be perfection!
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
I have many friends, co workers that frequent this sweet spot. The entire team at this location is so welcoming & friendly, especially Andrea the General Manager! All of the desserts are delicious and addicting but we absolutely love the marble cake, chocolate mint cupcake, nutty bar and the sugar cookies. The bakery always is so clean, sparkles like an orbit ad and the sweet aroma is hard to turn down as you walk by!

Yelp
i ordered a birthday cake for my best friend and susie cakes did not disappoint!! i emailed their cake decorator and we collaborated back and forth on what i wanted and the team made everything come to life!! thank you x100000! oh and obviously the cake was delicious!

Yelp
Great location. Love the little outdoor mall that SusieCakes is located. Store is clean, staff is super nice and they have various cupcakes and cakes on display. We grabbed the celebration cake which is our favorite. Cake was good, as always. We had "Happy Birthday" written on the cake and it came out pretty quick.

Yelp
I've ordered the mini cupcakes for my son's birthday two years in a row now. Online ordering is super easy and the pickup process is as well. The mini cupcakes are perfect for a party since most people just want a bite and don't want to commit to a whole cupcake. Bonus is that they are perfect for toddlers too! My guests have also commented on how the cupcakes are the perfect level of sweetness and the frosting isn't too much. We'll probably continue to get these for any of our events because they make the perfect dessert!

Yelp
I noticed this SusieCakes location while eating at a restaurant next door and only ever knew about the Encinitas location, so I was excited to check them out. My last experience with the service at the Encinitas location was HORRIBLE but I am so happy to say that it was the complete opposite last night in Del Mar. There were two very nice ladies working who were attentive and welcoming. I had a young child with me and they were so sweet with her. I asked if we could get extra sprinkles on her cupcake and they were happy to accommodate! It was towards the end of the day (approx 7:30pm and they close at 8pm) so they were cleared out of some choices but for being so close to closing, there was plenty to choose from. We purchased the Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate Icing, the Strawberry Rose and the Coconut. They packed them very carefully so they were still in perfect condition once we got home. I LOVE cupcakes....but I forgot how sweet SusieCakes are....for my taste, they are waaaaaaaay too sugary. With that said, that were very moist and you can clearly taste the quality in the ingredients. This location is in a beautiful shopping center that has ample covered parking and yummy restaurants nearby. It was very convenient to get in and out. Location and Service were fantastic, but I am not a fan of the ultra ultra sweet cupcakes. Additionally, they are sneaking in a 3% charge to your order that shows up on the receipt as "HealthyTeam". I didn't see any signage to inform customers on what this fee is for. If the register asked you if you would like to tip (which it does), I think they should also give customers an opportunity to accept the 3% charge rather than sneaking it in like that. I think many people don't even take or look at the receipt so most people have no idea that they are being charged extra. I also think if they made people aware, that many would choose to pay the small fee - I certainly would. Not making people aware or asking people to accept it before the payment is processed feels unethical to me.

Yelp
SusieCakes deserves a solid 5-star rating for its exceptional Graduation day-themed look and delicious taste. The cake was a visual masterpiece, meticulously crafted with intricate details, showcasing a graduation cap. The vibrant colors added a celebratory touch. As for the taste, it surpassed all expectations. The cake was moist, fluffy, and perfectly sweetened. Each layer was baked to perfection, and the frosting was velvety smooth. The customer service was outstanding, making the entire ordering process seamless. Overall, SusieCakes delivered an unforgettable experience. For a bakery that excels in presentation and flavor, I highly recommend trying Susie's Cake. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
SusieCakes is a special place for me and my wife as we got our wedding cake from here many years ago. We ordered a half carrot cake and half red velvet cake, which was absolutely delicious. Every year since, we make it a tradition to get a slice of each for our anniversary, and they are just as good as we remember. The cakes at SusieCakes are moist and flavorful, but they are also pretty rich. If they offered options with reduced sugar, it would be a game-changer for us. During the summer, they have a great berries and cream-style cake that's perfect for the season. One thing to note is that the prices at SusieCakes are a bit on the higher side compared to other bakeries. However, for the quality and taste, it's worth it for a special occasion. While I'm giving SusieCakes five stars for its sentimental value, if I were to be more objective, I'd probably give it four stars due to the prices and lack of reduced sugar options. Nonetheless, it's still a great bakery with delicious cakes that I would recommend to anyone looking for a sweet treat.

Yelp
I love buying slices when I'm in the mood for something sweet. The slices are enough to share with another person. The marble cake is my favorite. The cookies are awesome too

Yelp
Better than Sprinkles. More fluffier and tasty. Can really taste the quality here, though it's not cheap, I'll get some cupcakes here from time to time.

Yelp
Holy Mother of Cakes!!! The Pineapple cake was like biting into a mouth of coconut pineapple clouds. My mouth will never be the same- The only negative is why I waited soooo long to try Susie's Cakes!!

Yelp
Went in looking for a last minute birthday cake for my aunt and luckily there was a lemon cake readily available and my wife had some fun deciding on the color of the lettering and type of confetti/sprinkles to scatter over the cake. The cake was on the sweeter side but loved how moist and tangy it was. My aunt thoroughly enjoyed the cake and thought it looked absolutely beautiful. Service was ok. It could have been quicker but they were training someone new. Will definitely go back since I am a fan of their red velvet cake and cupcakes.

Yelp
I love Susiecakes, enough to order it for my wedding but I am disappointed from the mishap that happened with my order. I preordered a cake and 7 dozen cupcakes for my wedding and coordinated the pickup day/time with someone a day before. They went to pick up the order a couple hours after the scheduled pick up time and an employee, Andrea, claimed that someone had already picked up the order exactly at 12 noon. This stressed out not only me, but the person in charge of picking up the order. Thankfully the wedding was the following day and grateful that they offered to personally deliver my order to the venue. While a solution was provided, I unfortunately had to hear about this while I was at the spa, de-stressing before the big day. During a moment that I solely dedicated to relax, this completely inconvenienced me. While at the spa, I had to call a number of people to ask if they picked up the order, even though this task was not delegated to them. This incident also led me to believe that my email was hacked since someone knew my full name and knew the exact time the order would be ready by. So, I also had to change all my passwords because of this. I wasn't there in person to pick up the order, but I was told that no ID was checked upon pick-up, that the surveillance cameras located in the bakery are fake, and the explanation about the order being picked up exactly at noon felt fictitious. Ultimately, if somehow the order wasn't fulfilled in a timely manner, I would've appreciated transparency and accountability. Whether or not my order was "stolen," this brought on unnecessary stress on me the day before my wedding. It's been 2 weeks since the incident, and while they delivered my order, I would've appreciated an apology at the very least. I am hoping that they implement a better pick up system (e.g. checking IDs) so this doesn't happen to customers again in the future.

Yelp
I am a frequent visitor to Susie cakes ever since I moved to Del Mar. I love to bring cupcakes to my business accounts and I eat a few myself. I also buy them for our nurses and almost every weekend it has been my reward to myself to buy carrot cake slices and coffeee at blue bottle and take it with me to the dog park and eat it after I walk my furry babies to justify why Im eating something with gazillion calories, I deserve it! Lol So yesterday, I had this lady Laura helping me, she did not look happy and was obviously having a bad day. I like the carrot cake so much but not the icing coz thats where most of the calories are, so I usually remove it. There was a time there was a lot of icing on it and I was bummed coz I paid a lot for a carrot cake and threw away most of it. So when I was there yesterday I saw the carrot cake and there was kinda a solution to my problem, one side was lesser icing, yes!! So I kindly requested if I could get that part with lesser icing and for her not to tape it coz Im gonna eat it anyways. She was giivng me an attitude and just plain rude gestures. I kept my calm and still talked to her nicely and said thank you. I got to the counter and the box was taped , that was fine, I asked the lady in the counter if I have some rewards and she said if I spend 15 dollars I get a discount and I said yay great Ill have another slice of the Carrot cake. The lady in the counter was really nice. So I went back to Laura who's job I guess was to slice cakes, I told her the box was taped to just not tape the next one in a very nice way and again she was giving me an attitude and started to tape the box and I told her pls dont tape it and she said, she will cut the tape on the first box and now raising her voice, I said it wouldnt make sense to do that, just dont tape the next box, Im still trying to keep my calm, why is this girl so angry, I asked if shes ok and she snubbed and gave me a hating look. If shes not happy with her job she shouldnt take it on customers. I gave 3 stars because service is the number one reason businesses stay in business. Sometimes its not all about the food. Im just gonna drive all the way to carlsbad to get my carrot cake, oh well.

Yelp
This little cake shop in the One Paseo shopping center is a nice little treat. The cupcakes compared to a place like Sprinkles, these cupcakes have more of a homemade feel. It was a good quality cupcake, but if I'm being honest...For the price, I'd go for a Sprinkles cupcake every time. The cupcake flavors were very basic. Nothing unique about them. But again, still tasted good. For such an upscale shopping center, I think I just expected more. I would have given an overall 3 stars, but the staff was very nice and it's still a great treat to have.

Yelp
Don't mind the terrible photos we were just too excited to eat this cake! When i was in desperate need of cake SusieCakes came i a clutch! They provided not only a beautiful cake but DELICIOUS. I've never had their cake before but I'm telling you it's absolute CRACK! Everyone at the party was asking where i got the cake from. It was just that good. Even the leftovers were just as delicious as when we first cut into it. Definitely ordering all my birthday cakes from them in the future!

Yelp
Love their cakes! Wanted to try something different from the usual Nothing bundt cake option in I called in a last minute delivery order and was able to get a cake delivered to me within 30 minutes! Delivered to my office in time for a huge lunch time meeting and multiple birthday celebration! If you think the cakes are too pricey... try a sample. Life changing! No one will tell you not to order from them again! trust me!

Yelp
The lack of customer service and soft skills are definitely missing here. It's a nice store and beautiful cakes, but if your staff can't even crack a smile or even acknowledge your needs.. who would want to come back?

Yelp
Great cakes for special occasions. Had the lemon cake. It tastes like a lemon bar inside. Very different, but good inside. Coworkers seem to really know this place and brand. My first time hearing of it. But the lemon cake is very solid and firm, so no issues with if falling apart

Yelp
As my kids fell out of love of cakes over the years we looked to pies and cheesecakes and ice cream cakes and other desserts for our birthday celebrations. This year I asked for a Susie Cake, though I had never had one, as I remembered the storefront at the La Costa Town Square and wanted to check them out. My daughter ordered the 9 Inch Classic Marble Cake and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it, included those that were over cakes, and it was devoured quickly. We'll definitely be coming back for all of our cake needs and look forward to trying their other offerings. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Yelp
I ordered a cake and pre-paid. The night before my planned party, a substantial family emergency arose. I cancelled the party the day off, and therefore no longer needed a cake. I really didn't expect SusieCakes to allow me to change my order, on the day of the event. But, they were super sympathetic, and allowed me to re-schedule my cake pick-up date.

Yelp
Loved the complimentary slice of birthday cake (original chocolate cake) and the young, professional, amazing Caucasian female who helped me this evening wrote a nice message which was a nice surprise. Thank you!
