I was brought these cupcakes so I have no experience in-store. But the cupcake was extremely good. I had the coconut cupcake, I want more! It was soft cake with rich frosting. The amount of coconut was perfect. Would get again.

A good-looking disappointment. I love cakes and everything sweet. There hasn’t been a cake I didn’t like, until I ate one of Susie’s creations. In all fairness, it looked good, but the second I took a bite my tastebuds were assaulted with cheap and ultra-processed ingredients. The word “subtlety” is absent from this bakers vocabulary - cheap ingredients are attempted to be mascaraed by copious amount of sugar, which only made things worse.

Best chocolate cupcake I ever had in my entire life!!! (And I’ve eaten hundreds 😋) The cupcake and frosting were so soft and the flavor was absolutely delicious. It had a rich chocolate taste til the very last bite. When I worked for the Target in Cerritos back in March they bought cupcakes from here to give to everyone and I have been craving them ever since. 🤤

In this place, one peoson help us to pick delicious cake or cupcake.. It was my first visit and she was really friendly.. We choose chocolate cupcake and it is melting in mouth... and carrot cake is also sweet !! I remember my neighbor bring this cupcakes for gift. I really thankful to find really good dessert place !!

Update: was given another apiece and it was much better Edit: I’m not the only one based on other review. The cake was dry recently I was so surprised. And key lime did not taste as good as last year to me. The whipped cream had no flavor and crust didn’t either the custard part was good. Also service is fine and employees here tend to be sweet, but there’s sometimes like an accosting of asking if you’re ready or have a pick up order as soon as you walk in . It’s nice to greet and check in but it’s something I’ve noticed over the years that can be jarring when first walking in. Feels like there’s a method to that madness and sure there’s a reason but it feels impersonal and rushing. The best carrot cake I have ever had! I like when it’s made with more sultanas. Sometimes they make it with more sultanas (raisins)sometimes with more walnuts . Either way it’s great! And everyone there is super friendly! I even got my dad a carrot cake for his birthday and it was a hit.

Walked in and bought a birthday cake. I chose the 9 inch Celebration Cake bc the color was pretty. Ngl, I didn't like my options -there weren't that many- but I wasn't dissatisfied. Susie's is the place I'll go when I need a last minute cake.

Customer service gets 5 stars from me but this is my second time coming to this location in the evening and the cakes have been dry and lack moisture. For the price I expect better quality. I’ve had more moist cupcakes from the supermarket. Not sure if they keep their cakes overnight but both times it did not taste fresh. This will be my last time coming here.

The workers are always super kind, and the cupcake is baked perfectly with some of the best icing I have ever had. It may be a bit pricey, but it is worth it.

My birthday was in October and my husband got me a 6" classic chocolate cake from this location :D!! I've definitely had Susiecakes before at other people's parties and events, but never got it myself. Really liked the decoration on the cake, I definitely think they have a keen eye for design and aesthetic. The sprinkles and color choice for the writing on the cake was super cute. That being said, I think this was just not my type of cake and it's 100% a personal preference thing. The cake itself was good! Moist, soft, sweet, chocolately...but too sugary sweet for me? I've always preferred lighter, airy cakes and this is more of a classic American cake? Heavier and denser. The frosting was what pushed it into too sweet for me. I like more whipped creams, and this was a thicker, sweeter, heavier frosting. It's a cake that I can only have very small amounts of at a time and be satisfied. I think their marbled cake would probably be a flavor I like much more. I absolutely needed a glass of milk or tea with this. Overall though, this is a preference thing as I mentioned. For the type of cake it is it is very good! Just depends on what you want for your cake.

Located at Long Beach Exchange near Long Beach Airport, Susiecakes is known for their cakes and whoopie pies. I will occasionally come for cupcakes and cookies. On this occasion, I came to get a single "happy birthday" red velvet cake for our friend! Susiecakes has nicely decorated cakes, I feel that they are consistent, and service has always been good to me. I thought that the customer service was actually outstanding today. It's three stars for me because I feel that the flavor of their cupcakes are average. I have no complaints on the red velvet cakes or whoopie pies. The cakes are relatively moist. If you like red velvet cake, they have a cream cheese frosting. This is not my first choice, but it's a pretty decent choice when I need something as specific as a birthday (cup)cake.

I had this cake for the first time around 2014ish. It was the best cake I ever tasted. I was looking forward to trying this cake again. Telling everyone to get a cake from here. Then on Oct 13th I finally ordered a large cake for my family of 4, excited to eat it all. It was awful, I was surprised considering I picked up a cupcake while grabbing my order and it was good. Not the best cake ever but good. I still had high hopes. It was way too sweet. I've never had that complaint before. None of us could differentiate between the frosting, filling and cake. We kept picking at it and it never got better. We only had a piece each and from that only a few bites before going into the trash. We tried hard to eat it, we don't like to waste but it was trash The only thing that would make sense is if they accidentally added twice the amount of sugar to the cake. Either way, it was $85 worth of trash

Definitely a sweet treat but oh my so delicious. I got the coconut cupcake and the nutty cookie sandwich was legit heaven in every bite and I recommend if you like peanut butter flavored items. The workers were friendly and quick. Ambiance is set it perfectly so you can be in and out. It is a little warm inside but I know it's because the baked goods can't be too hot or too cold. Will be back!

The best cake ever! We got a coconut and carrot cake slice and they were both delicious. The service was excellent and I always make a point to stop when close by!

Susie! You're my new bestie. I love, love, love red velvet but I can't seem to find one that does a good one worth driving to and taste amazing. Here come Susie's cakes. She does it well and not overwhelmingly sweet. Onto the vanilla with sprinkles. I'd pass. Too sweet for my blood but my boys enjoyed this. Mini cakes are around $50, larger cakes are $65. Located at LBX, plenty of parking. Girls were super helpful when I walked in. If you'll download their app, you get a free cupcake! and each birthday, you get a free slice!

This review is *only for their red velvet cake, because that's the only thing I get here!! Their red velvet cake is in a league of its own. A little on the pricey side, but they make it the BEST. There is nothing in the world like it. The cream cheese frosting is just perfection. Not too sweet, moist, and delicious. Red velvet lovers know. It is so worth it on occasion. I ordered a 9" red velvet cake for a friendsgiving and it easily served 12 people + plenty of leftovers to take home. Convenient location and ample of parking here too!

Came here to get a surprise bday cake for my sister, it was last minute but the staff was helpful. We got the chocolate cake and a few cupcakes to try. The chocolate cake was sooo good probably my new favorite chocolate cake. The cupcakes were good too, I like the strawberry and confetti cupcake. I'm from oout of town but will definitely make another visit to get cake slices to try the other cakes.

Cakes are pretty good and fresh. I got the marble, birthday cake and and a cupcake. They are better cold in my opinion. They weren't the moistest cake that ive had. But overall its still trying some other flavI've.

I'm usually a regular at the location on La Brea & also in Brentwood.. I just visited this location today, and I didn't experience the staff to be as friendly and warm as the other locations. It felt a little more standoffish - no good vibes. Furthermore, I took home my berry cake slice & instantly noticed it's abnormally dark in the white cake area, which is not something I am used to. I usually eat my slice over a period of multiple days, and I've never experienced other locations to serve me a slice that eventually leads the cake slice to be super dense & gooey feeling. My cake slice from here, right off the bat, already tastes and feels off. I called in to inquire and address the issue & the employee who answered said this is normal due to the nature of the cake. Normally, I might actually believe it.. but the fact that I've already purchased this exact cake slice from other locations various times, and never had this occur, I'm just not sure what to believe. Best believe though, I won't be finishing this slice - it just tastes off and it sucks because the slices aren't cheap. Disappointing for sure because I usually enjoy coming here to splurge but I'll be refraining from this location.

I've tried their cakes and cupcakes several times and they never disappoint! There was so much frosting on the celebration cake I had to take some of it off!! And the cake was a little dry :/ they are friendly though and cake was decent size, shared it with my sister!

Got a birthday cake for my son from here. 1 star for the service. It was ready before we arrived, and customer service has good attitude. But the cake itself is the kind of taste you typically find in grocery store - super sweet, cheap tasting cake and cream. We threw the whole thing away after everyone had a few bites. It's not worth the money. With the same price you can get 2-3 cakes from 85 degree. Will never return.

Their Christmas Cake was outstanding. Sadly, SusieCakes is Card Only. A lot people still use good old CASH ! ! !

I love the cupcakes here. I drop by after eating at LBX across the street from time to time. I only get the cupcakes here. It's weird, I don't like cake but if it's in a convenient shape my brain tells me it's better than cake. I get one cupcake for 4.99 and request no packaging. It's gonna be devoured within the minute, why waste it. Put it straight in my hand. I don't even have photos of the cupcakes I get because I just shove them in my mouth immediately. So far all the flavors have been good. Can't go wrong with red velvet, strawberry and vanilla. The craziest one I had was a Guinness cupcake for St Patrick's day. The flavor was crazy accurate and really good. I might actually request a full-size cake for my birthday from here.

This location is still not consistent with the frosting filling in their cupcakes. I got through 75% of this last cupcake trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that there would be frosting inside, but I was disappointed again. At ~$5 per cupcake this is just starting to piss me off. I could get a larger cupcake with no frosting filling elsewhere. I don't even know if the other cupcakes I ordered were frosting filled because someone else ate them but I'll just assume those didn't have any frosting in them either. Isn't Susiecakes supposed to be known for their frosting filling??? If I'm wrong please correct me. I don't think I'm wrong though. Only giving 2* because my order was ready on time and I appreciate the 2 doors for entry (front & back) especially when the front parking is always full.

Oh my goodness! I ordered a red velvet and a special chocolate with Guinness frosting and both were delicious!! The second best cupcakes I've had I think. The best is a local lady I know in Kentucky, but these are right up there. The frosting was perfect! Better than sprinkles by far!!

Let me preface this with the fact that it was 7:40pm...20 minutes before they close. End of the day and they still were smiling Be sure to park on the correct side of the building. The back door is closed. There was a line but it moved quick. Plenty of people working the cash register and behind the counter. Now, for the cakes. The frosting is on point. Both cupcakes had delicious frosting. It was the cake portion that didn't hit the bullseye for me. It was a bit dry for the both of us. Before I really make a decision, I will need to go in earlier in the day. It could simply be the end of the day. Everyone should give this place a chance if you are looking for a cupcake on a Saturday evening.

I seen this place and wanted to give it a try because I was looking for a place to buy my daughter a upcoming birthday cake. So we came in to try a few cupcakes to get a feel for the place. The place was bright in color and really clean. It wasn't many people inside so ordering was easy. $5 per cupcake seems a bit expensive for the small size. We tried 4 different cupcakes. I didn't care about the price if the taste of the cupcakes were worth it. Turns out It wasn't worth it. The cake icing was really good on all four, however each cupcake was very dry and crumbly. At first I thought it was only 1 cupcake initially but as I tried the others it was the same thing. The box was cute but the cupcakes weren't that stable inside as a lot of the icing were attached to the paper divider. I don't feel confident getting my daughter a birthday cake from this place. But because icing was so good I am willing to give it another try and hope for better before I completely abandon this place.

Have come in a couple times since my last review. This last time had great customer service. Tried the strawberry lemonade cupcake, sooooo good. So good.

Solid red velvet cup cake. It was light and fluffy which I liked and everything you'd expect when wanting a red velvet cupcake but I think nothing Bundt cake has converted me to liking that chocolate chip bite in my cakes

Best Best Cakes EVER!!! Sweet but yummy. the red velvet is everything. The cupcakes are yummy the cookies are yummy over all the quality of this bakery is amazing

Susie Cakes at the Hangar at LBX is the only location I've been to. I Came on my lunch break and found a parking spot right out front which is rare.. Parking at LBX can be hard, especially when it's busy, particularly during lunch. It's usually takes a few min to find a space. After having lunch I wanted a sweet treat!! This was my second time at Susie cakes and each time I've been greeted in such a nice way by the staff. There wasn't too many people there once I arrived and I wasn't sure what I wanted right away but they patiently waited until I was ready. The chocolate chip cookie, white vanilla cupcake and carrot cake all looked delicious. I ended up getting a slice of the carrot cake and I was very happy with what I got! It didn't take long for the cake to be sliced and boxed and they gave me a fork and napkins so I could eat it when I was ready. The total was a little over $7 with tip included. I sat at a table nearby and dug in! I would definitely have waited a bit longer to let it get a little more room temperature but it was delicious nonetheless. It had gold raisins, pecans, bits zucchini, and the cream cheese frosting brought it altogether. Next time I'll have to try the chocolate chip cookie and a vanilla cupcake to go .

I regularly order SusieCakes for delivery when I need to treat myself. They do a dense style of cake with American buttercream. I'm usually more of a fan of fluffy cakes with less sweet frosting, but there's something about their frosting that I can't get enough of. The lemon cake is heavenly, with lemon curd filling and a lightly lemony frosting coated in crunchy sugar. Mmmmm...

If you're a desert lover like myself, and you're looking for a good cake or slices at that point, then you're missing out if you don't come to SusieCakes to get yourself some of this goodness. This place rocks.!!! service is always good, the people that work there are super friendly, and the place is spotless on top of all that. Now onto the cakes, in my opinion, these things are absolutely perfect. They're rich decadent, and I'm telling you one slice of this cake is enough for two servings easily but I do like to buy the full cake there and I'm telling you it feels like this thing weighs about 10 pounds, yes it is a little bit more pricier than some of the other bakeries in town but 100% you get what you pay for The red velvet is the best in the business, the chocolate cake is also fire, and if you want something a little old school go with the carrot cake. I feel like the cupcakes and be a little dry at times but I've never had a problem with the cakes or the slices always moist and delicious. They do an excellent job of decorating and you can also order online, which is a bonus I've got a mini Nixon cake from this place and never have been disappointed. Don't walk ,RUN to Susie cakes to get yourself a delicious cake for any occasion.

I ordered personalized cupcakes for a birthday party, it was a little pricey but it was worth every penny. Custom design was on point, everyone loved it.

1st time at this establishment as I'm a sucker for carrot cake. Super bright lit interior and extremely clean. Service was fast and as fyi, it is cashless. Now for the carrot cake, I wish I could give half stars cause it was a 4.5 for sure. Super delicious frosting and all the ingredients inside had the nice crunch and freshness you could imagine. I'll be back for sure!

Ok- my daughters love this place. Youngest turned 16 insisted she get her cake here. She tried a cupcake there that was flourless no idea why but loved it! So we pay more and get them for her. So her bday cake ..I ordered via the phone. It came out amazing! Perfect! Just as I asked for. Yes they are pricey but you get what you pay for. It's small but perfect. Thank you!! All the kids/teens loved it!! Better than the shortcake cupcakes!! We'll be back of course. Plus areas super cool! Thanks for making her sweet 16 special!

Thank you Susiecakes for making my mom's birthday cake special. I always come here every occasion when I am in need of cake. I must say, it's a little pricey but it's worth how delicious it is. I always get red velvet and I tried carrot cake this time and I think it's my new favorite.

Susie cakes is one of my go to bakeries for birthday cakes normally we order the red velvet cake which is so rich and moist and so so delicious! Always a family favorite! Today I came in for my youngest 1st birthday smash cake. I ordered a chocolate with vanilla buttercream with no inscription so I can just add a topper of my own. I ordered online a few days prior, walked in the day of pick up everything is so nice and clean and pastries are well displayed. The gentleman at the front helped me out, even opened the box and checked to make sure I was getting what I asked for and then I was off. Happy and beyond satisfied!

I've ordered cakes before and they were great but Sadly this past Thursday I bought a celebration cake for my 4 year olds birthday and it was so awful!!! It tasted like an old defrosted leftover sponge. Neither of us could even eat our own small slice, and yes the celebration cake is very sweet which is why I got the small one. I guess it was my bad luck getting an old cake

Came in for a dessert after dinner at the Hangar and decided on a piece of carrot cake. Man! It's yummy!!! I was admiring the Pineapple upside down cupcake, and I have to say I like it better than the carrot cake. Heaven!!! Go here now!

Love the cakes here but have never tried the carrot cake. I bought one for my sisters birthday because that's her favorite. There was 6 of us and we all thought the was the best carrot cake we've ever had. The cream cheese frosting was fluffy but not too sweet, the cake was really moist with plump golden raisens and shredded carrots. Not cheap but so worth it!!

Parking shared with other restaurants & businesses, you may not always get front row parking. Ambiance inside is bright and clean, staff friendly. My favorites: Chocolate, chocolate icing cupcake (chocolate lover's dream, chocolate cupcake is moist), some of my fam have mentioned it's on the sweet side, I think it's perfect, I love it, Don't forget the milk! Carrot cake (good, well balanced) Snickerdoodle cookie (soft, yummy) Aside from these items, I've tried other cupcake flavors and wanted to love them, but they were on the dry side for my taste. I usually end up sticking to those 3 listed.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I ordered 2 carrot cake slices from Susie Cakes via Uber Eats. I've done this many times before. My order was delivered to my house with the seal that Susie Cakes puts on their bags still intact. I split one of the slices with my husband and left the second for another day. My husband and I work at different work locations so we rarely eat the same things. On Monday (1/13) the carrot cake was the only thing we ate together. We both woke up on Tuesday feeling sick. My husband and I both spent the next 24 hours throwing up everything.....even water. We went to urgent care because we literally couldn't even keep fluids down and got diagnosed with Norovirus. Run far from this place. Someone sick handled our food while sick and passed it along to us. Disgusting. I used to get cake from here quite frequently but I will never order from a Susie Cakes location again.

Love coming here for cupcakes and slices. Staff are cheerful and friendly. Great location with a lot of parking.

Have a severe sweet tooth and don't feel like leaving the house? Well, this instance just happened to us and our guests. We enjoyed the meal at home and wanted to stay in the house for desserts. So, my buddy placed an order using the Door Dash app. After spending a specific amount, the app provided free delivery to my home. The delivery was not a neighborhood drop-off; the path took 20 minutes to reach my destination. What we ordered: Here is my ranking of which slices I enjoyed the most: #1 SUSIE'S FAMOUS SOUTHERN RED VELVET CAKE, #2 OLD-FASHIONED CHOCOLATE CAKE, #3 CARROT CAKE, #4 LUSCIOUS LEMON CAKE. Generally, SusieCake's desserts are on a heavy scale of sweetness over savory. I can taste the heavy load of sugar in each bite. Also, the size of each slice was quite generous, standing like a titan in its own class. I'm a RED VELVET fanboy, so this was an easy decision. The frosting was sweet, and the cake was fluffy. The Old-Fashioned CHOCOLATE CAKE was also surprisingly delicious. It tasted airy. While the cake's texture was soft, the richness was all in the frosting. The CARROT CAKE was excellent, with a lot of flavors. I enjoyed the red velvet frosting covering the cake's outer layer. Luscious LEMON CAKE is an ideal choice for people who enjoy lemonade overly sweet.

So I spent 56.71 on 2 cupcakes and 4 cookie sandwiches (and 2 number candles). Definitely overpriced. The icing or buttercream was amazing on the strawberry and lemon cupcakes but the breading did not give off that same flavor and the bread was more crumbly and dry verses moist and flavorful. The cookies were amazing. As for the customer service it started off good then the person helping me stopped helping me and started helping someone else m that walked in for a pickup order, so someone from the back came out to assist me. Didn't like that. Otherwise the atmosphere was like another bakery shop. Just need to work on the customer service aspect and friendliness.

Girls so nice and this place was immaculate . I got the pineapple , coconut , red velvet and buttercream , plus two chocolate chip cookies that saved the day from the hellhole next door navy federal . Honestly the visit here was the highlight of the trip and if it wasn't for those cookies I would probably lost consciousness or had a cardiac arrest inside that stupid bank. Thank you Suzie Cakes your cookies saved my life.

They can do better. The key lime barely tastes like key lime. No tang the slice very small for the money NO TANG AT ALL

Not sure how this cake cost me over $350 i will never order from them again. Cake was not centered and looked like a 2 year old frosted it. I was seriously embarrassed to show the guest . Luckily they were teens and probably don't care but you all need to do better or cut your fees in half x 3 . Very sweet cake but edible with milk or coffee . I feel like I got ripped off . It's actually my biggest regret purchase this year .

Great find for the best cakes ready to order and go! Trevor was very helpful to assist figuring the right flavor and size of cake for my friend, Kelly's birthday! The carrot cake was a hit at the surprise party! So rich and flavorful. Not surprised it won awards 2 years in a row for the best tasting cake in the local cities. Bookmark this folks and look for Trevor and Maka, his manager who were both so helpful for SusieCakes!

Birthday cake is yummy! Staff is always friendly. There are a couple of tables to sit at so that you can enjoy your slice of cake if you're like me and can't wait to eat it.

Baking is extremely time consuming and you have to have a lot of patience for it. Good quality baking ingredients aren't cheap either. So I would never complain about the price at a bakery. However, their cake was dry for the price. I had a coconut cupcake, chocolate chip cookie and a slice of their celebration cake The cookie was great, reminded me of homemade ones from growing up. Would definitely get that again The cupcake I thought had great flavor, even though it was coconut it wasn't overpowering. Would order it again The cake slice I ordered though was extremely dry. I don't know how fresh it was. It was a whole cake and I got the first slice of it. The people working here were extremely friendly, there was a good amount of people coming in and out picking up cakes they had ordered and then walk ins just coming in for baked goods. I think I was in there for about ten minutes total The ambiance is really cute. I also like how they have free magnets on the counter. And the place is extremely clean I'd definitely come back whenever I'm close by and have a craving for something sweet

The staff here is all very welcoming and they were ready to pack up my order. All the cakes here are pretty damn good and moist.

Customer service is horrible. Went in last week to place an order for a graduation cake. I would ask the lady at the register questions about switching the design / adding designs, all she said was "no no, we can't do that". A baker in the background turned around and asked me what I was asking for and she said "Absolutely we can do that design for you". The baker was super nice and was able to accommodate everything I wanted. My dad went in today to pick up the order and they did not have any of the lettering / saying on the cake, and no logo i paid extra for extra for... Super annoying when you place an order and they can't even get the order correct. They refunded the money I paid extra for the logo but the fact that they didn't follow directions and my dad had to tell them to do what was already supposed to be done and wait is super unprofessional. I usually go to Nonnas Mercado for all of my cakes in North Long Beach but though I'd give this place a try. Never again!!!
