The 16 Best Restaurants In Venice, Italy 2024

"There’s almost always a line at Gelatoteca Suso, but it usually moves pretty quickly. While the gelato flavors change seasonally, some of our favorites have been walnut with caramelized fig, a double caramel and toffee mix, and a dairy-free raspberry and chocolate sorbet. It’s a good place to come if you’re gluten-free or vegan—they have gluten-free cones and certain flavors made with rice milk. Take your gelato to the nearby Rialto Bridge and watch the sunset." - gillian mcguire

9 Best Gelato Shops in Venice | Condé Nast Traveler

"Gelatoteca Suso is a classy gelateria with more than two-dozen Instagram-ready flavors like mascarpone with fig and walnuts, Orient Express (with ginger and cinnamon), and passion fruit. It’s clear the folks here take gelato quite seriously, as evidenced by the artful presentation, immaculate storefront, and the employees’ sleek, black-and-red uniforms. The shop is also keen on experimentation; a riff on Japanese mochi, for instance, stuffs peach, pistachio, or chocolate gelato into rice pasta." - Jenna Scatena

Best Gelato in Venezia! They offer a variety of flavors. Gelato is smooth and not too creamy, nor too sweet. And I LOVE the fact that the cup option comes in a wafer cone. Additionally, the place is nice and clean. The staffs were nice and friendly. And don't be startled by the long queue because the line actually moves really fast. It's worth queueing!

I had my very first gelato in Venice at Suso, and it was such a wonderful experience! The two female staff members were incredibly kind and welcoming. They patiently explained the flavors, offered samples, and gave great recommendations based on what I might like. Their warmth and friendliness made this visit even more special — it wasn’t just about the gelato, it was the memory they helped create. I chose a cone with three flavors, and every single one was absolutely delicious. Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Thank you to the two lovely ladies working there — your kindness turned a simple dessert into a beautiful moment in Venice. Highly recommended!

Only three stars because it was not the best gelato I had in Venice. I got two scoops and both very sweet. Overall it was much better than many other places but I believe given its price point, the quality could have been better A two scoop gelato costs us 6.5

Five stars for their great gelato - we came here twice. Definitely a step up from the average Italy gelato shop. Opera and pistachio flavors were amazing. My wife also enjoyed all the flavors she got here. That being said, don't get a milkshake here, wasn't too good. Lastly, I never ended up fully understanding their pricing (some flavors seem to be a bit more expensive than others) but it should come out to more or less 5.50€ for a two scoop cone.

One of the best gelato that I have ever had! The texture, consistency, flavour...everything was perfect! It is a bit more pricey than others in the area.

The best ice cream I have ever had, bar none. I think I’m skipping dinner and going back for more. I had the marostica and I highly recommend it. If you love chocolate, the dark chocolate looked unbelievable. Always a line but it moves fast and worth the wait. You are allowed one sample taste.

I'm in love with Suso for real. We tried pistachio, lemon(?), another very orangy mandarin flavor I couldn't remember and a chocolate something. The trip was a month ago so I couldn't recall exactly what we've had but I can tell the flavours was literally magnificent. The store is close to Rialto bridge so easy to find, a bit packed with the queue but worth waiting and staffs were friendly too! Good experience overall!

The perfect place for a sweet treat after lunch or dinner. I went twice whilst I was in Venice. There’s a wide range of flavours and they all look delicious. I went for the cheesecake flavour and vanilla the first time I went. Both were delightful with a creamy taste.
