On the Grid : Suzanne Gardner Flowers

"Back in 1980, Suzanne Gardner decided against becoming a vet, opting instead for a job at a local florist. The rest, as they say, is history. Now 17 years into life in Liberty Village, Suzanne has seen many businesses in the hood come and go. Offering everything from bouquets to houseplants, SGF is a dream come true for the green-thumbed. Grab a Bird of Paradise for your loft, or table arrangements for your wedding. FUN FACT: during the wars, the store was occupied by women who spent their days making munitions by hand. To this day, there’s a firing range in the basement." - NUFF

I can't praise Suzanne enough! She helped me with the florals for our wedding, and I came to her with a limited knowledge of what I wanted aside from colours. She ended up making me the bouquet of my dreams and some gorgeous arrangements for our at-home wedding. Everything about working with Suzanne was a dream!

We met Suzanne, approximately 3.5 years ago - when we initially began planning our wedding. I had walked by her downtown location for years before that - always at awe at how beautiful her window displays were. Before meeting her and her staff, we had a few consultation with other florists. All of them exceptionally lovely but I felt they didn't completely understand my vision or the budget I was presenting. My request was to aim for a look and let's work to achieving that within my budget (I had no hard floral requests - just a look). Right away I connected with the SG team. They gave me options on what I saw as my dream florals. However, as the pandemic steered on, we had moved our venue and date and the vision for day of changed. The SG team took the time to meet with us - pinpoint the important focal points and once again realign to make to make my day what I hoped to happen. Suzanne never promised anything other than she will try and source the flowers from my wish list to be included in my special day. Not only did she find EVERY single requested flower in the right colours, she made the arrangements, bouquets and additional requests magical. Her eye for quality florals and her insight into the industry is remarkable. She truly loves and cares for what she does and it is noticeable. People were fighting each other for centerpieces. I loved my experience with Suzanne and her team so much - I have formally begged for a location to be opened closer to me.

Suzanne Gardner and her team designed the setting for my daughter and new son-in-law's home wedding ceremony and intimate dinner. I cannot express how perfect it was: magical, gorgeous, stunning. Suzanne was a pleasure to work with. Her design sense is wonderful. Her selection of flowers and how they work together to make the most beautiful bouquets is the best I've experienced. Thank you to you and your team, Suzanne, for making our wedding celebration as special as it was!

I bought a plant online from this store, and when it got delivered I saw that the leaves had clearly suffered from a pest infestation. The entire plant was affected. I reached out to Suzanne with pictures and to ask how to care for the plant, and she was really curt. I hadn't asked to return the plant, only for more information on treatment since it's hard to identify what type of pests. I can only assume she felt defensive knowing that she sold me a plant with a pest infestation. Anyway, shortly afterward one of my other plants was infected by spider mites and I had to isolate the plant I purchased from Suzanne. I've been trying to keep the plant alive but, as anyone who's had a pest infected plant knows, it's an uphill battle. It really bothered me how not only did she sell me a plant (upwards of $50) that infected my other healthy plants, but she was rude when I reached out to ask for help.

Was given a bouquet for Valentine's Day. I legitimately think these are the most beautiful flowers that I have ever received. The arrangement is stunning and the quality of the blooms are beyond anything I've ever seen from any florist. I love these flowers so much, I take them around the house to whatever room I'm in so I can enjoy the gorgeous visuals all day.

The floral arrangements here are truly magical. My photos don't do the arrangement justice. I bought this arrangement for my aunt for her birthday this year and took it to her at her work. Everyone oooh'd and ahhh'd over it. The colours, combinations and types of flowers are so gorgeous and so different. So many florists do the standard 1-800-Flower type arrangements that have been the same since from 30 years ago. Not at Suzanne Gardner. The arrangements are fresh, innovative, and breathtaking. Absolutely worth the purchase. One of the best florists around. And with two studios - one in Toronto and one in Orangeville they cover a wide variety of areas. Beautiful! Suzanne Gardner along with Flower Fantasy in Mississauga are our two favourite florists!

I do not have enough words to tell you how much I love Suzanne and Nicole. I have loved popping in their shop just to see them and to grab some of the best blooms in the area. I only use their flowers for my photography, and they just know what I would love!

I am in love with this cute little flower shop 😊 We went there with two designer flower pots from umbra and the store assistant helped us to pick and plant the flowers of our choice. His arrangement was extraordinarily and they turned out amazing. I highly recommend this store !!
