Suze Restaurant - Review - Northwest Dallas - Dallas - The Infatuation

"Your friend surprised you by taking you bungee jumping at the Zero Gravity Thrill Park and now you need somewhere nearby you can sit for a while to let your heart stop racing. Go to Suze. With white tablecloths and a sleek bar, the interior can be a bit formal, but head outside to the patio and order a few of the affordable appetizers and salads - like a bowl of mussels or the pizza-like lovash." - Landen Kerr

Fantastic little neighbourhood wine bar. Service is phenomenal firstly - no notes. Every dish had us stopping to say wow. Generous size of focaccia (absolutely not complaining). Fresh ricotta was a lovely dish to complement. Panisse and anchovy starter was delicious and moreish. Caramelised artichoke casarecce dish of the evening. The filled pasta (bottoni) was also yum but serving size is small for $32 and as a main. Fish was cooked well. Pomme puree serving size is also on the smaller size, but very rich so perhaps just the right size :) Lovely little venue, very inviting and warm. High recommend

We got the bottoni pasta, the casarecce, the raw fish, the ricotta, the foccacia, and the grapefruit non-alcoholic drink. Highlights were the ricotta which suited the fig perfectly and paired well with the focaccia, the caserecce was al dente and had a nice umami flavour. Regrettably, we were late to our reservation but got some attitude from the waiter and were also rushed with our courses which took a bit of shine off the night.

Wow the food is delicious! The chicken liver parfait is a must try. The focaccia is huge but delicious and the home made balsamic and olive oil for dipping was just heavenly. Could definitely share one piece between 2 but worth having one each if you order other saucy dishes for mains. Only thing we didn’t like was the greens side which was too oily and very plain. Desserts were great and we really enjoyed the complementary Turkish delight with the bill. There was a black out that night so made for a very dark dining experience. The downstairs also smelt like sewerage :( luckily we dined upstairs only. Very limited coat or hanger space upstairs. Our waiter also kept taking our napkins to wipe the table which was a bit distracting. But overall great dinner and would return.

Walking into this beautiful venue and being welcomed by the team set the tone for the night, the staff were attentive without being intrusive and they were really knowledgable about the entire menu and were able to provide recommendations on the great wine list, as well as help steer us towards one of the best dishes I have had in melbourne to date - the ricotta is next level! Our entrees included the focaccia, and chicken liver parfait the portion sizes were generous and cooked too perfection. The pork was to die for, like, I would go back just eat the pork. Service was exceptional because these legends understand hospitality, they understand how to create a memorable night and I look forward to the many more successes they will endeavour. We were fortunate enough to snare a booking for Suze and it absolutely lived up to expectations! Incredible relaxed yet attentive hospitality met amazing food and great drinks. Really knowledgable staff were easily able to provide recommendations on the great wine list, as well as help steer us towards some dishes (the ricotta was insanely good!) that we missed in our first order. Couldn't speak highly enough of this and does an incredible job of being an elevated wine bar that also feels like a truly Melbourne expression of hospitality. 5 stars!

I don't usually leave Google reviews but we had such an enjoyable time that I wanted to share my experience. On first glance, the decor is quietly stylish–understated in that the minimalism and low-lit grey-scale made it feel classically sleek and yet still comfortable to dine in. We were also seated upstairs with a view of the kitchen which contributed positively to the atmosphere. The drinks list had interesting and tasteful offerings (I ordered a delicious Saison vermouth), and the wine list similarly had decently varied options by the glass. We ordered the focaccia, anchovies, and ricotta to start. All were delicious but the ricotta with persimmon and pepper-berry was the highlight. For mains we ordered the flounder and the eggplant (the underdog) with both the leaves and potato for sides. This was the perfect amount of food between three of us sharing. The flavours across all dishes were balanced, and despite some unexpected flavour profiles, were still complimentary between each plate (just as the waitstaff had advised). I also requested a wine recommendation to accompany the mains and the Italian Chardonnay they advised paired beautifully. For dessert we ordered both the Tulumba and the grapefruit sorbetto. The Tulumba with black garlic was so uniquely delicious and an indelible note to end the meal on. Staff were attentive, thoughtful, but never pushy. Suze is a refreshing and welcome addition to the restaurant scene of the Inner North, clearly bringing their own distilled creative vision without compromising on simply good food.

It was such a lovely dining experience. The standouts for me were the focaccia and the chicken liver parfait. The focaccia was light and fluffy, though it would’ve been even better served warm. I’m usually not a parfait person, but this one was incredible—silky, rich, and beautifully balanced with the pear. No gaminess at all. The ricotta dish was fresh and nicely done. Great use of persimmon, and the pepper berry added a fun twist. The flounder was cooked perfectly, delicate and full of flavour. I didn’t try the lamb, but my friend rated it highly. Don’t skip dessert! The tulumba was a standout. Like a black garlic churro, it was unexpected in the best way. Such a lovely spot for date night or catching up with friends.

Every blue moon you have a restaurant experience that defies all expectation. Suze was that for us. In 2025 it’s so hard to find a restaurant doing things genuinely on the edge of inventiveness, a signature palette defined by certain notes instead of all of them. Suze brought it all; fine dining technique, unbelievable service and dishes we will remember forever - dare we mention the perfect wine pairing. All in a warm, inviting setting. Our favourite restaurant meal was a two Michelin star in Tokyo called Crony. This was right up there. There are very few restaurants in Melbourne trying to push the needle, Suze is one of them. Like a band playing the music they want to play instead of crowd pleasers, they march to the beat of their own drum. We can’t wait to come back.
