"I learned that Marriott began as a group of family‑style restaurants called Hot Shoppes, and when the Marriott Marquis opened it revived some Hot Shoppes menu items chosen by Bill Marriott — including the beloved Mighty Mo small hamburger — which still draws fans at all hours and even has a Facebook group called Friends of the Mighty Mo and Hot Shoppes that posts old ads and memorabilia." - Eater Staff

Google
This place is THE BEST! My wife and I stopped in over the weekend and were amazed by how large the selection is way more than we expected. Everything was well organized and it was easy to find exactly what we were looking for. Glenn was incredible to work with. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, and he took the time to answer all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed. You can tell he really knows his stuff and cares about the customers. We were genuinely impressed and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Google
We had an amazing experience in this shop! Got to try tons of insanely delicious and insanely spicy hot sauces. Glenn was helpful and awesome when walking us through the various products. He's fun to talk to and hang with. if you're passing through town, definitely worth a stop in.

Google
Great variety of hot sauces, fun unique flavored sauces / dips. Organized. Suzie, the owner, is clearly passionate, super laid back and helpful - he shared some cooking tips for a Jamaican rub we purchased , also some history of ice cream from the area ( the sole reason we chose to go to Nina's for ice cream ) . Definitely would return and recommend others to stop by.

Google
Huge variety of hot sauces. They are very knowledgeable and ask the right questions to find out what you really like. Also you can taste the different sauce to pick your favorite. Great store.

Kiera M.

Google
Glen was an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable host in his hot sauce corner of the world. His shop has personality and a hot sauce for everything. Be sure to take him up on a sample (or three)!

Google
Glenn was spectacular. Knew his stuff, friendly, had great recommendations for novic and spice aficionados alike. Great experience with the amazing variety and wonderful humans. Can't recommend enough!

Google
Any and everything you’re looking for will be found here. Whether it’s a very mild, and delicious jam/sauce or a crazy hot sauce/spice. Everything here is incredible. The owner is very knowledgeable and is willing to answer any questions you might have. There is something for literally everyone and this place is why I come back to New Hope!

Google
What a cute little find! My husband and I visited last week and enjoyed browsing and looking at the different sauces. The gentleman working was a pleasure to talk to and very helpful! We left with a few sauces that we are excited to try

Yelp
We were out of our pineapple habanero hot sauce that works so well with beans and legumes so we stopped in to see our buddy at Susies. You can find whatever suits your tastes. The scovils are listed everywhere and you can even sample various hot sauces. If you aren't sure which hot sauce to pair with certain foods, the owner will make suggestions that you will absolutely be thrilled with. Stop in for your hot sauce needs. If you are an Eagles fan, you can even pick up some quality merch as well.

Yelp
Being the spicy fiend that I am Suzie's first had me with the promise of hot! But while I entered just expecting to close our New Hope weekend rendezvous with finding a novelty hot sauce (of which they have plenty of), I didn't expect to find so many other great items of the spicy persuasion! While I love my spicy foods, I'm also not that big on anything insanity ghost pepper style. So I appreciated that each product display was also marked with a spice scale that helped me confirm that I shouldn't prescribe to the saucy medicine of Dr. Assburn or Professor Phardtpounder. But I also enjoyed the helpful suggestions and good humor of the deadhead (owner?) working there As you'd expect for a Hot Shoppe, the main event was the hot sauces, and Suzies had a bunch of them from recognizable names to plenty of harder-to-find items. But I was also impressed to find plenty of spices, chocolate, popcorn, jellies, pickles, and then some for sale! In the end, I left with a HOT Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning, a bourbon chipotle BACON spice grinder that I use on all the things, and habanero ketchup that I've grown to crave which is very rare for a ketchup hater like me! And since New Hope is a destination that isn't always easy for me to travel to, I've grown to appreciate their online store which has all the things!

Yelp
Visiting New Hope? You definitely need to swing by Suzies Hot Shop. My mouth is watering as I write this review, just thinking about the delicious hot sauces and miscellaneous items throughout the shop. This is a great place to snag some unique goods/gifts, you can definitely find something for anyone here. They have savory, sweet, and everything in between. Add a little spice to your life and hit up Suzies.

Yelp
Great service! Very knowledgeable employees with good recommendations! We appreciated the recommendation of the perfect hot sauce to go with oysters and that we could try the sauces!

Yelp
Visit Date: April 11, 2021 I came here with the guy I'm seeing when we were in New Hope together for a day trip. He knew the guy who works here because he comes to New Hope often. There's so many different hot sauces here and the owner of the shoppe, I believe his name is Glenn is very knowledgeable about them. I bought my brother in law a hot sauce and bought one for the guy I'm seeing I had no idea he liked hot sauces. Definitely if you're a hot sauce fan or know someone who is stop by this unique little shoppe. There's grateful dead stuff inside on the walls and there's a pretty tree outside that the guy I'm seeing called the Magic Tree. I did my nature shit in front of it.

Yelp
Stopped here on a weekend getaway. The amount of inventory was surprising, as was the extensive knowledge of the owner. We had a BLAST chatting with him, sampling various hot sauces, etc. There is something here for everyone's taste, so don't be intimidated. I picked up a sauce called Sling Blade that was wonderful. We also sampled some Reaper Brownies, which were amazing. Recommended if you're looking for new sauces to up your culinary game.

Yelp
Hi there my Adventurers! This place is AWESOME SAUCE! Haha All types of hot sauces! Like legit ALLL flavors and spiciness ! I picked up a really good one that was flavorful and had cilantro infused. The owner was extremely nice answering all of our questions and explaining what the stickers mean. Also really great part was that they had locally sourced small batch made sauces. Help support local farmers!! I recommend this place for all your hot sauce needs. Happy yelping !

Yelp
Great selection. Friendly and helpful owner. Took my teenager there for his birthday and he found a great selection of hot sauces to choose from!

Yelp
If you're hot sauce lover then this is the place you need to come to if ever in New Hope. They offer a wide variety of free samples to try. Lots and lots of Hot sauce options and some of them just have a crazy name everything is color-coded from mild to medium to hot and also some of the bottles have a smiley face that mean there locally made. The owner was a real cool guy very laid-back and friendly offer to help with anything but wasn't overbearing which I hate. Just the right customer service that you get in the small town, I love it. While checking out he informed us they'll have some YouTube videos soon so I'll definitely be looking out for that. Definitely one of the stores I'll pop back into when back in town.

Yelp
Amazing selection of sauces, you could spend hours in there just browsing. The owner is also very friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
I was not expecting such a uniquely extraordinary place. I went in, thinking maybe I'll buy something since I do like spicy as well as souvenirs from traveling. The prices were a bit high, but I expected as much from a shop catering to such a specific market. There is a wall where you get to sample all the hot sauces, but we got bored/lazy since we had had a few drinks and itched to go to another bar. Before we left, however, we saw some sweets by the cash register and thought they looked interesting. We asked the owner to try it, and he got out some samples. Upon closer examination, he decided that the brownie was too old and didn't want to leave a bad taste in our mouths, so he gave us smores instead. WOW. This went above and beyond my expectations! I was so blown away by how spicy it was (I was expecting it to be weak, like most American food is). The textures were pleasant and varied, and it was not overwhelmingly sugary. We decided to take a chance on the brownie, which was SPICY AS HELL (my first time acquainted with the ghost pepper). You've been warned. Really really regret not getting the smores the first time around. Also really really regret not coming back for them after we had a few drinks and forgot. Doh!

Yelp
Suzies is true to their word that they have it HOT. Sauces, chips, nuts, spices, rubs and even chocolate. Their store is quite impressive! They have the standard brands, the not so well known and then next to the register in a glass case are the sauces that are beyond intense. A handful of specialty items---Cheech & Chong, Kiss and Lynard Skynard are just to name a few. If you have any questions the staff really knows their stuff and are happy to help. Want a sample? You don't even have to ask because they have self-serve samples on wall displays. Just make sure you bring a bottle of water in case you need a cool off.

Yelp
Was excited to try Suzie's Garlic Habanero Pretzel Bites. Was very very disappointed I love garlic pretzel bites & I was excited to have that heat. They're hot but lack any taste. They're very bland and I don't taste the garlic. If you only want heat & to chew on something, this is for you, otherwise I'd skip them. I wish I didn't spend $10 on something I won't finish & my boyfriend won't even try after I said how tasteless they were. I haven't tried other products but given this disappointment & waste of money I don't know if I will.

Yelp
Have been a longtime fan of this shop. The new owners have done a fantastic job curating excellent hot sauces, rubs, spices, tobasco sauces and all many of spicy products us pepper enthusiasts. The shop has had a makeover in the past year, and now has more space, a better organization of sauces by type and origin, and expanded collection, plus the option to taste many different varieties displayed on the walls. Ask for a sample of the spicy peanut brittle and you'll be certain to go home with a bag. I'm a huge fan of Blair's Q Heat line of sauces and would recommend picking them up here. These guys know their stuff and will answer any questions you have.

Yelp
Found many delicious hot sauces from different traditions and all around the world here. Never been disappointed.

Yelp
If you like hot sauces, this store is for you. And no, I'm not just talking about Frank's hot. While they don't make any of their own hot sauces, they have a quite a selection to choose from, and they offer free samples! Now that's hot!

Yelp
Hidden gem in the city. The guy who runs it is friendly and very funny. Had as much fun chatting with him as I did shopping there. We picked up a variety of sauces and some Bloody Mary Mix. The hottest sauces are good and pretty hot, but could be hotter - that said, I have a very high spice threshold. Anyway, cool little shop with a large variety and knowledgeable person behind the counter.

Yelp
I love this shop and always make a point of stopping in whenever I am in New Hope. Their variety of hot sauce is overwhelming and beautiful. They have samples of which you can partake, but partaker beware, they are pay for play if you want something to drink after making a flaming-mouth mistake. Highly recommended for all of your spice-ass needs.

Yelp
Interesting little retro shop. I didnt buy anything, but the experience was worth stopping in. The ladies at the counter were hilarious and such characters. honestly, I would go back to listen to their banter. Def check out the fun goods.

Yelp
Love this place. I go in every time I'm in new hope. Love everything about it, except the owner is always smoking cigars in there and it smells awful. I can get past if for a great selection of hot sauce!

Yelp
Went in yesterday in search of a tasty new sauce to add to my fridge. This place has an awesome variety of hot sauces, bbq sauces, rubs, and assorted other hot things. Two really cool things that Suzie's does: 1) label every sauce by the amount of heat it packs & 2) allows you to sample any sauce they sell. When I heard about the second part, I knew I had to stop in. I sampled about a dozen different sauces along my search for a new one to take home. Hot sauces with lime and garlic, bbq sauces with bourbon, and wing sauces live garlic parmesan. Some decent taste but there was one I really loved, a BBQ sauce called Porkalicious. Just the right flavor I'm looking for to top off my ribs or pulled pork. Sad part is, they were all out of Porkalicious. The owner did give me recommendations that he thought would be similar, but I couldn't pull the trigger on any of them because they didn't match the flavor I was looking for. Hoping to get back up there when they restock in time for my summer grilling adventures. Some tips: -Use a new spoon every time you sample. -Don't expect Giant/Walmart prices, local businesses need to make money. -Sample some sauces with 2 red dots. It's just something cool you can say you did. I had two, one didn't bother me, the other sample contained a seed that I bit into and lingered for about a half hour. Totally worth it tho.

Yelp
I now know where to buy my hot sauce. Friendly owner. Great selection of hot sauces and spices. Highly recommended the habanero maple syrup they have there. It's obvious the owner has a passion for hot sauces. If needed, he will guide you in the right direction. He also plays great music in the store.

Yelp
I left this shop with a burning mouth and a giant smile. Gary (or maybe Rich? I somewhat forgot his name while he was shoving tasty hot treats at me) is a laid back hippie man who is a font of pepper knowledge. I went in looking for a pork rub and was immediately rewarded with a long conversation about what kind of pork I wanted to cook, what my thoughts on "spicy" were, and from there was pointed towards the best rub ever. As I was being rung up I was seduced by the hot dark chocolate level two: oh the top of my head burned and my eyes watered and I was in love. Try it! Try it! Try it! This little shop is a must-stop if you find yourself in New Hope!
google avatar

Yelp
AWESOME. You can try almost all the flavors including the Trinidad Pepper flavor (the hottest). Suzie's has sampling stations all around the store. Lot's of fun. Great stop. The hot sauce is like 12 bucks each but some of them taste like they're worth it. I cried after eating the Ghost Pepper and had to sit on the bench (another great reason to stop if your feet hurt), my wife and friend marched on and tried the Trinidad which made my wife sick (she probably needed food in her stomach first...we were about to eat afterwords). But it was worth the experience gave us a lot to talk about!!!

Yelp
Suzie Hot Sauce is a great place -- if you like spicy things. This little shop in downtown New Hope, PA offers a wide array of (obviously) hot sauces, salsas, rubs, chips, dips, and other assorted hot stuff. The service is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. In fact, you can try nearly anything in the store (and they do offer bottled water and other beverages if things get too spicy). Prices are reasonable, but not great. But as folks who buy gourmet hot sauces know, this stuff ain't cheap! Here's a list of some items that I've bought there that I really enjoy: - Kalahari Pepper Co. African Rhino Peri-Peri Pepper Sauce - Hot (my personal favorite!!!) - Scorned Woman Hot Sauce (this stuff's really hot!) - Blair Q Wasabi Ginger Sauce (not that spicy, but extremely good) - Crazy Jerry's Margarita Salsa - Butt Burner Hot (I know -- the name is ridiculous, but this salsa is superb!) If you don't live in the area, or you simply don't feel like driving to New Hope, you can visit the Suzie Hot Sauce website (at www.suziehotsauce.com/ ) and make your purchases online!

Sara G.

Yelp
Amazing store with a super funny and helpful guy at the front! You can sample pretty much anything and they have an amazing selection. I have been able to find something every time I've come here and I have always been supwr happy about all of my purchases :)

Yelp
My favorite store in America - without question. Glen is the man! Deep hot sauce knowledge, always a character. And the stuff in here is AMAZING! Every time we are in New Hope, we are at Suzie's. See you there!

Yelp
THE place for hot sauce and other condiments- a huge selection! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Love , Love this place. Cute, The entire store is hot sauces, They carry just about every one you can think of, & if they don't , look for it, order it. They revamped/ remodeled since I went, Every-time you bought something there, they would take your picture, put it up on the wall, I was up like 2-3 times. Just had to hunt got my pic, was with a Polaroid camera. So cool, the owners were so nice, certain hot sauces you wanted to taste, they had small tasting spoons for you to taste _WOW!! I bought like 2-3 . Then again likes mines Hot & Spicy!!! Spicier the better.Maybe that s because of the region I was from? Hmm...maybe.I was eating hot stuff before I could walk..that may do it. Go to New Hope, like spicy, stop in-its the best!!!
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
I go just to buy the super hot pretzels - you haven't lived until your hair starts to sweat.
google avatar

Yelp
Love talking about classic rock and hot peppers with the guy there. Keep on truckin'!!
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Owner is awesome. Best place to get a great locally made hot wing sauce, Griffin's. So many sauces to choose from.
google avatar

Dave J.

Yelp
This is a very nice and comfortable shop. The owner and staff are really nice and know what they're talking about. They'll answer any questions you may have. You can also sample just about anything in the shop. They make it known that they also support local businesses by either buying their products or even promoting or helping other businesses in town. Definitely a must-go place if you're in New Hope. It's almost a guarantee you'll leave this shop having purchased something.
google avatar

Erica M.

Yelp
This place was fun and I really enjoyed that you could sample all the hot sauces. My boyfriend was able to find a Costa Rican hot sauce that he LOVES and hasn't seen at any stores since he took his trip. My only complaint was that the woman working (apparently the owner's daughter) seemed apathetic and didn't know much about a lot of the hot sauces. She was nice, but just didn't seem to want to be there/help us. Oh well - we got 2 bottles of the Lizano sauce, so we left happy!
google avatar

Melinda L.

Yelp
A truly unique shop. The dude who was running it the day we visited was helpful and cool. We bought a friend some hot sauce and myself a jar of pickles. While I like the pickles, I just wish they had more of a bite to them. Overall it was a very cool time.

Mike A.

Yelp
If you've got $6 to but awful hot sauces in a super market, you have $8 to buy local, handmade ones here. Holy. Smokes. The dude inside is extremely chill & they'll let you sample anything - support small business and get your wing/sandwich sauces here!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
One of the top 5 reasons I need to get back out to New Hope again. There were so many brands, nearly all of which I'd never heard of before, but you can try before you buy, so the eclectic selection isn't too intimidating. The guy there was really nice and helpful. Great music in the store too.
google avatar

B H.

Yelp
Not many towns have a hot sauce store. This one shines not just because of it's rarity but also because of the owner's expertise. A passionate, fun loving guy, he gives you the low down on the details of each sauce. You want something you can't get anywhere else? He's got local stuff (when in season). Like fine wines, some of his selections are single origin harvests. He doesn't make them himself, as far as I'm aware, but he carries some rare ones. You could fly all over the country, or make it easier... just stop by here. BTW, He sells Spicy maple syrup from Vermont, one of my favs.

Ryan L.

Yelp
Bloody awesome place! Went there and spent about 40 minutes chatting with the guy behind the counter. Ended up buying a few bags of the Habanero pretzels, some of their chocolates and sauces. I'm in love with this place and can't wait to go back.

Steve C.

Yelp
What a great time we had. The store is well stocked with surprises at every turn. We went into the shop to pick up a hot sauce but were amazed at the variety of products. We never thought about eating jalapeno chocolates or peanuts with a "punch". They were great. Plenty of items to sample and we were thrilled with our purchases.

Yelp
as a 15 year customer, going back to the founder, i'm always impressed by the knowledge ,friendliness, and laid-ack environment at suzie's. if you can't find it ,ask..if they ain't got it, they'll get it...main reason i go to new hope--hope suzie's is there till i'm gone...suzie's will 'warm' up to you,try it!
