Svaneke Røgeri

We had the smoked salmon with potato salad and fish n chips. The food was really good. We enjoyed it. The guy who took our order is impatient and seems to be annoyed for no reason. We knew what to order and it took 10 seconds. We don’t understand what is wrong. However the girl working next to him was nice.

Excellent place if you to try freshly smoked herring and mackerel however I would not recommend fish and chips or the other deep fried fish and French fries. The French fries were so deep fried that there was only crust left and the fish was too deep fried too meaning it was more crust than fish. But try the smoked things and you won’t be disappointed. We went for smoked mackerel, herring and eel.

The best food at the most reasonable cost in Svaneke. In fact the food was so good we dined at Svaneke Røgeri on two consecutive nights. During our visits we tried the fish and chips, fiskefrikadeller, smoked prawns and the smoked herring with potato salad. It’s say to say I would recommend them all! In addition to having delicious food the customer service was excellent! Everyone we were served by was happy and made great recommendations. Furthermore, the venue is cosy and very clean and situated overlooking the sea. Best of all - DOGS ARE WELCOME! 😁🐶

Hands down the best smoke house on the island! Beautifully situated in the sunny town of Svaneke near the sea, this smoke house cooks all the sea food you could ever want: Trout, shrimps, salmon and of course herring - all smoked on location. Grab a lunch and buy yourself some fish to go while you’re there!

Very authentic they smoke the fish in the ovens right behind the counter. We had the warm smoked trout and the “solstrejf” which is the famous Bornholm’s dish. Both were absolutely delicious. The place has some nice benches and good parking.

The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. All of the dishes were served very fast too, despite the queue. I had fish and chips but I have also tried the smoked shrimp and smoked herring. I'd definitely come back!

It's the real deal—a truly great Danish experience, unique to Bornholm.

Bornholm is a treat in general, but certain places simply stand out from the crowd. You nearly cannot get a bad smoked fish in Bornholm - but what about the best of the best. Look for the five chimneys with the cannons in front, and you know you are in the right place. The fish is no other than outstanding every time, we are there. The accompaniment is indifferent, as the fish simply takes your taste buds on a genuine exotic journey leaving you in a drowsy state of happiness afterwards. Herring, salmon and eels are without comparison, but my favourite will any day be their smoked trout. I am smiling, while writing this... You can bring home fish, or have it shiped regularly to your danish home address, when treating your guests. The prices are high - but fair for Bornholm in general. The view from the restaurant is beautiful and the staff is always awesome and speaks Danish, English, German and Bornholmsk ;-). A warm loving recommendation from a big fan that tried smoked fish many places in DK, but always ends up in Svaneke for the best.....
