Food is amazingggg!! The portion sizes are very good and worth the money. The service is great, any questions you have about the food they answer. The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming. Definitely coming back :)

Pork yeero was 10/10! I added spicy feta and taziki on mine and loved it. Hands down best gyro I’ve had outside of Greece.

Chicken yeero was my favorite so flavorful juicy w the sauce inside. Also pork on the stick wonderful and crispy. The fries are great too also the falafel tasted good soft inside crunchy outside w hummus dip

The menu is misleading, the writing is small and no prices shown. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, they asked if I wanted to add any toppings to it, I added cheese and a fried egg. They didn’t tell me it’s $1.50 for Cheese and $3.50 for a fried egg. $16 for the burger. Fries were - $7? I mean cmon now. Drink $3 so far it’s $26. So I’m thinking this place should be good for a $25 cheeseburger. Also I got a gyro, and baklava. $21 With tax it was $50. Then they want a tip for punching my order into the register? Not cool. Nice place, but not wonderful, feels like a rip off. This place is clean, located right by the train, pretty easy to find parking. Suggestion: Lower the price of your fries and extras, and don’t upsell me. Or I just won’t come back.

Recieved delivery. Ordered Beef souvlaki. I think the packaging of my food was done poorly I would never put cold food in the same container with hot food. In addition condiments in the plastic containers were placed on top of my food, which I’m sure was on top of the counter before it was placed on top of my food. Sogginess was present. To add insult to injury I believe I was eating lamb and not beef, not a fan and will won’t be returning. Sweet potatoes fries were good.

Fantastic food , huge portion. We had the platter for 2 , we had to take home the rest we couldn’t finish .

The food looks amazing and the portion size is good. I like to say I'm rating this a solid 3.5 ⭐️. The chicken was a bit over-cooked and dry. It wasn't juicy or flavorful as I've had in comparison to other Greek restaurants in Astoria. The rice wasn't aromatic. Both the tzatziki sauce and the SVL sauce was mediocre. This was our first time dining here. It could be an off day. It's a great value for the portion size. The handcut fries was the only thing we enjoyed here. We won't be coming back.

Good food. Huge quantities. Great prices. It doesn't get better than that! I went back two days later for more. The platter I ordered was almost bursting at the seems and fed me for two days- it also reheated super well in the toaster. Definitely my new go-to place when I look up at 9pm and realize I'm starving. I start walking, order on my phone while I walk, and it's ready when I get there.

There is no argument that this is the best Gyro spot in all of the Astoria. You guys really need to try a variety of their dishes because they're all delicious. Grab a friend, a beer and share a mixed platter for 2. I warn you have to be hungry. They do not skimp. Super affordable as well.

I have enjoyed SVL for years and I am not sure why I never reviewed it. Chicken Yeero or Chicken Souvlaki are where it is at for me. But as a plate with greek fries. A side of feta is always an option. Chipotle Aioli sauce rounds out my draft picks at SVL. There is also a Chicken Yeero Sandwich that you can order as a lunch special.

Solid Mediterranean fast casual experience in Astoria. David our server was great. Burger was well seasoned and tasty. Their Greek fries had a wonderful feta on top as well. Slightly on the pricier side but a nice option for really good food!

Great service, really helpful with suggesting what's popular, and customized the order perfectly. Lots of souvlaki options in the neighborhood so the bar is high--wasn't the best but was certainly not bad. The ingredients seemed fresh enough. Prep was a bit haphazard (ingredients not spread somewhat evenly through the sandwich), the halloumi needed to have been charred more (it retained its water-logged texture and taste, indicating it was too directly-out-of-the-package vs. grilled properly), and the pita was pretty chewy. Slightly more expensive than other places offering halloumi gyro, by only about a dollar or two.

SVL was our first stop on an Astoria food tour and it was a very solid start! We chose to share some yeero shots and pork Souvlaki. The meat was delicious (especially the souvlaki!) and the shots were bigger than I thought. Service was quick and friendly, and the interior was bright and welcoming. We left feeling very satisfied - would return!

I always crave for a good gyro and you can't beat the quality in Astoria. Greek community and a chain version with an assortment of combos and fun sides. Quality gyros and generous portioned too. What I like about this place is they do it the authentic way with cramming in fries into the gyro. The beef strips are not as salty as most places serving the gyros. Also a great lunch special and happy hour meal deals. Service is very attentive and they were very nice about guiding a first timer like me to this establishment. This place has a nice large seating area for diners to enjoy their trip here. Very clean and well maintained. This was a good tip and can always count my local Astoria contact born and raised here as she knows her food and Greek food choices nonetheless.

Very generous portions for their takeout platters. We ordered 7 plates for 7 people totaling $120 and it easily could have fed 10 guests. The kebabs had a nice charcoal smokiness and crispy exterior. Very fresh salads.

Entrance is actually on 31st St, not 30th Ave, just south of the Starbucks. Delicious salad bowl that was completely customizable, priced similarly to other places, and prepared quickly by a helpful staff person. Attractively designed interior with comfortable seating.

Great place for gyros! I ordered the chicken gyro online and it was delicious and extremely full. I would come back here again for this again! The space is smaller than the one in Steinway but still nice with plenty of seats. They were quick with my order!

It's close to the subway which is handy but honestly I found this spot very underwhelming. Inside it looks like a fast food joint, order at the counter and they bring food to you. We stopped by for a quick lunch and ordered the lunch special (chicken gyro and fries). From the reviews, photos and website I was expecting something better. The portion of fries was huge and they were pretty good, but the gyro was tasteless, there wasn't much chicken or salad inside and only a skimpy smear of tzatziki and the gyro was bulked out with yet more fries. Maybe the fact that there was only one other table occupied should have been an indication? Maybe it's better at night than at lunch? Maybe the lunch special isn't the way to go? Anyway it was a disappointing lunch and I won't revisit. (Looking through the photos here I see there are a lot that are 5+ years old so maybe it has changed hands?) An easy pass for me, there are better options in the area.

Was staying at work late last week one night and ordered for delivery - and was surprised with how large the portions were and how good the food was! I had a rice bowl with chicken yeero, and while the adding of toppings and paying for each got pricey quick, the size of the bowl made it definitely worth the price. Others ordered a variety of sticks and found them flavorful as well, and the avgolemono soup also got rave reviews! Definitely will be back!

STAY AWAY. poor customer service and very rude and lack of customer satisfaction. I placed an order today and they wouldn't deliver it due to a miscommunication. Yet they take your delivery fees and tips?? Picked up the order and quality food was poor. Chicken souvlaki was DRY as possible. Gyro platter was $26 for a box of French fries and enough gyro to feed a cat. This place is as bad as they come for Greek food, The other location is much better if you want SVL for Greek food. Take my honest advice.

Great souvlaki and yeero. Their pita sandwiches are phenomenal and never fail to impress. BYOB makes this an easy stop when friends are visiting.

I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that I moved so close to SVL Bar because I eat there all the time! I love the souvlaki sticks and just tried to bacon wrapped ones and I'm not sure I can get anything else ever again because it was that good! I also love the pita sandwiches, lunch special and the salads are always fresh.

What a gem is SVL Souvlaki bar! I was craving an authentic beef and lamb gyro (yeero) and came across this place while searching Yelp. They have a wide selection of gyro sandwiches and platters and sides. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro sandwich with the works and a sour cherry Greek beverage. The sandwich was overflowing with beef and lamb and fries. The meat was perfectly seasoned and succulent. It also came with the appropriate amount of feta and tzatziki. The young ladies at the register were friendly and attentive. If you're in Astoria, don't hesitate to give them a try. You're in for a treat!

IMO still the best chicken Yeero locally on Astoria NY . They deliver really fast and if you do pick -up they hustle to have your order ready ASAP. The mixed grill for 2 is the best bang for your buck - I always manage to have lunch/dinner for the next day . The grilled meats heat up lovely the next day in the toaster oven.

First time here and wanted to sample more of the menu. Was craving some Greek food and wanted to try something besides the food trucks. We got the mixed plate for 2 during the Saturday Special, which came out to be around 7-8 dollars cheaper than the normal and came with 2 cans of soda/water. The girl at the counter, Mia, told us the food would be a lot yet we still insisted since we were ok with saving some for leftovers. It really is a big portion! Definitely felt like it could feed 4 people. This is a good deal if you plan to sample their food with a bunch of people! I loved that I was able to used the pita and make my own little gyros, with the sauces and fries, and the meats in my own way. Delicious food, loved the pork. Only thing that wasn't the best, were the fries. They were already cold by the time we got back. If you're looking for street food, but want to try something besides the food trucks, this is a good option! Their SVL sauce was pretty good too!

Fresh great authentic food at the heart of the Greek community in Queens. It was my first time but certainly not the last. I wanted to order everything. The beef stuffed with feta cheese is the best thing since sliced bread! Who ever invented it should have a statue erected in their honor. Chicken souvlaki was fresh, a very satisfying portion of both. It came with cut of fresh lemon and flat bread that was also fresh and delicious. I ordered the Greek fries with oregano and feta cheese. It was delicious I just expected it yo be shaped as potato chips not as the regular fries, but otherwise... the best fries.service was also great. Very accommodating! Come hungry! Leave happy!

One star is for the food. Pros - It was amazing! Also, the amount of food. We ordered the mixed plate for two which was MORE than enough to food for our party. The bathroom was clean but dark. Cons - Price discrepancy for the mixed plate. Some places have it posted as $29.99, other places it's posted as $49.50. Customer service was VERY lackluster. The guy seemed to have a slight attitude. No AC, they left the doors open so the place was very humid. No Ice, so our water was warm. Then the guy had an attitude with me for taking a few napkins to go. Nope, we will not be returning

OH. MY. GOOOODNESS. If you like/love Greek food you will really like this establishment. Had the chicken yeero and it was made to perfection. Very well prepared and it was DELICIOUS. They have multiple locations in Astoria so you can visit either one but I went to the one on Astoria Blvd. Also the locations where SVL Souvlaki positions themselves are pretty genius. LOL. Why? They are all located within close distance of a gym and train station. Especially the Astoria Blvd location. It is on the same block as CrossFit Queens and FlexFiit. Oh it is right next to FlexFiit. So if you just had that total all out in the zone workout and you are famished that chicken yeero is going to be mighty tempting. Definitely going to try out the other offerings for sure. The drawback I find with the Astoria Blvd location is that they have no paper menu and it is on the TV screens and they scroll through fast so you will be a bit overwhelmed with the offerings because you have so many choices to choose from to build your yeero, bowl, etc.

Decent Greek food for take out. The portions are not the largest and I find the prices to be astronomical for the amount of food you receive. Each sauce comes separately and you have to purchase each one to make the meal on the tastier side... so the price just keeps climbing and climbing. For take out if you feel like splurging I guess it's a good spot but not the best bang for your buck.

Coming back from Costco my sister in law and I were getting a bit hungry. Passed by SVL Souvalaki Bar many times. My sister in law was craving gyros and we passed by and saw a sign on the window for a lunch special. We got the special which was a chicken gyro and some fries. The fries came in a small box well seasoned really yummy The gyro was good a bit salty for my taste and I didn't like the fact that it had fries in it. We did a pick up to go order so we got to see the inside for a little bit. The inside was nice and the order was freshly made and the meat looked very fresh. The place smelled really good.

Saw the reviews to this place and found parking right nearby so decided to go this restaurant. You enter and there's a place to order and pay up front and give tip. Afterwards, you can sit anywhere either outside or inside. There's a menu that you can get from scanning a qr code or you can look up on top and there's also a huge menu (like a takeout place). While you sit they call out your name and bring it out to your table. We ordered the Saturday tray special for two people and you can also choose to get the four person tray too. They give you so much meat, you can either get fries or rice (chose rice, but they ran out), salad, pita bread and they give you tons of sauces. It's so much food that you'll definitely ask for a take away box. I suggest this if you would like to sample all different types of meat. This place was pretty popular as so many people came trickling in until it was time to close. If I'm ever in the area, I would like to go back.

Great spot for a cheap no frills bite to grab and its the perfect spot to fuel up after a long day or before going out. I loved that they had lots of protein options for all preferences, and I got a chicken yeero. The sandwich itself was a little dry, not sure if that was the meat or the lack of toppings even though I had asked for all the toppings.

My favorite Greek souvlaki spot in USA. No other place compares sorry! Their gyro is crispy, their fries are well seasoned. Ask a little extra tzatziki on the side and you are good to go. Try it, it won't disappoint.

Honestly, I eat here 5-6 days out of the week, sometimes 2x a day.. ha ha. I love this place, they're good and they're food is always so fresh and consistent. I order the chicken sticks and their hand cut fries .... The fries are top tier. Did I mention the food is always FRESH. Best in Astoria and I don't say that lightly.

Never had the LIC location, but this one is great for delivery/take out. Love all the souvlaki, but also have to say their tzatziki is very good.

Glad I gave this place another shot! Major hit or miss depending on what you order. Several orders placed on seamless. THE GOOD: - Horitaki salad - Fresh ingredients, quality feta, and a great value! - Gyro sandwich - Beef/lamb - an up-charge but worth it. Also love that the add fries to the gyro like they do in Greece. Customizable so you can add/remove items and sauces. A MISS: - Gyro sandwich - Pork - I was quite unimpressed with the quality of the pork used - very fatty. This could be personal, as I don't enjoy fatty meats. - Grilled Halloumi - Lacked any seasoning unfortunately. OVERALL: Fast & a good value, if you order right!

Ordered delivery from here and had a great experience. My boyfriend and I shared the Horiatiki salad and Chicken souvlaki pita. Portions were big and everything was super tasty.

I have been to this place many times last year, always good. I went today and got a Pork Yeero and pork souvlaki and both were so fatty, couldn't eat it. Also got the Spanakopia and it was so greasy. Not sure if I will go back.

Came in to try this place after someone recommended and it did not disappoint! You pay at the register and they bring the food out to you! We ordered the mix plate for 2 for $29.95 and it came with alllllll types of Greek meats, a mixed spring salad, mini pitas and their signature sauces (tzakiki, SVL sauce, mustard aioli, chipotle aioli) and your choice of rice or fries. It was an amazing deal and the plate for 2 can easily feed 4 people. The meats were flavorful and I loved the idea of mini pitas instead of the typical one. The place was kept clean and has a lot of street parking outside! I recommend giving this place a try!

Astoria, Queens is widely known for their myriad of Mediterranean restaurants. Located right off the Astoria Blvd train stop, SVL Souvlaki Bar, boasts some of the best Greek food the neighborhood has to offer. Highly recommend taking the train in otherwise be prepared to hunt for parking for ~20 minutes unless you get lucky. Served with a salad, pita and chipotle aioli, the Souvlaki Platter is a must. The meat is well seasoned and juicy showing a high level understanding of how Greek food should be prepared. Overall, pricing tends to sit on the higher side of the neighborhood but the portions are large leaving you barely enough room for dessert. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very casual, almost reminiscent of a fast food chain but the food delivers far beyond that!

Astoria has many Greek restaurants, but this is by far my favorite spot to go to for souvlaki and gyros. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Astoria Blvd stop of the N train. The vibe here is very relaxed, almost like a fast food restaurant but much, much nicer. You order from the counter and they bring the food to your table. There's a soda fountain where you refill your drinks. And plenty of high top tables and seating. I love the way the food is presented. They use metal trays, bowls and scoops--very cute, modern and trendy looking. The food here is absolutely fantastic! Meats are well seasoned and juicy. The food is on the pricy side, but portions are large, and the food is delicious. On our last visit here, we ordered: Chicken gyro platter: with French fries, chipotle aioli, pita bread and salad. The chicken gyro was tender with just the right amount of fat to keep it moist. The fries were well seasoned and not too oily. The chipotle aioli had a nice spicy kick and was delicious with the fries. Pork souvlaki platter: with lemon potatoes, tzatziki, pita bread and salad. It came with two skewers of pork souvlaki meat and couple of wedges of lemon. The lemon potatoes were very soft and had a nice olive oil/lemon sauce. I've yet to try any of the desserts here as I tend to be too stuffed by the end of the meal. But I'll be back soon and often. I highly recommend this place!

This was my first time at SVL, the atmosphere gives very nice vibes. This store is definitely much more welcoming than the one under the train on 31st street. The size is so much nicer (based on the view from outside). The food here is definitely tasty but in my opinion can be a little salty. A friend and I ordered the plate for 2 and I will say that they're heavily heavily undercharging. We paid $40 for a $60-70 meal. The food was very tasty and gave us a chance to try all their meats, the salad and fries. The fries and salad are great, the chicken was also really good. I'm not a huge fan of sausage but it was good. All the food was super fresh and there was no shortage of it. We had a friend eating with us and still had enough to make a stuffed take home plate. I don't think there's anyway to make the food less salty but I think that would be optimal. Parking in the area isn't easy but after 7 meters are usually free and so it's within reason. Definitely worth the trip! Staff is also very friendly

The quality is garbage we ordered with a girl on the phone that was completely lost I said the order three times and asked her if she got it right ? She said yes and the order was wrong anyway. But that is not even half the problem. We ordered greek gyro sandwiches x 4 and we received garbage all FAT COMPLETE AND UTTER CRUNCHY FAT THATS IT NOT MEAT JUST FAT SO BE AWARE !!!!!! They used to have good meat in the past weve been coming here for a while and now THEY ARE SAVING MONEY IT IS DISGUSTING. MAKE SURE THEY DONT START USING PRINTED FAKE MEAT TO MAKE A DOLLAR . Also the owner was always there and used to greet you now he is gone I guess the focus turns to just ,money money money.

chicken is dry, flavor is mid. extremely overpriced too. the people behind the counter are nice at least. not worth going here tho, there are many other much better greek food options within walking distance.

Stoped by the try the pork "yeero" pita. It's everything it should be and pretty close to what you'd get in Greece. I always wish places put more tatziki into their sandwiches. The portion sizes and pricing all make sense too.
