Went couple of weeks back for a lates breakfast. Ordered their signature dish Crispy Onion Rava Dosa, Poori Chicken, Ghee Podi Idly. Their Rava dosa never disappoints me but somehow it did not meet my expectations. Will give a pass this time as most of the times it was good. Poori and chicken is decent so was Ghee podi Idly

Went to Swadeshi today for some groceries and found they have a great collection of plants — gongura, rose, tulsi, and more. If you're looking for plants, it's worth a visit! After shopping, I tried their weekend special goat biryani at the restaurant — it was delicious! Perfect spot for both shopping and a good meal.

The appetizers at Swadeshi Frisco are exceptional, especially the pepper chicken fry. The meat is incredibly tender and just melts in your mouth. The snacks are also delicious. This is a must-visit restaurant in Frisco for anyone looking for comforting, homestyle food.

I’ve noticed that the Swadeshi Store offers vegetables at significantly lower prices compared to other stores in the area. The quality is good, and the prices are very budget-friendly, making it a great choice for daily shopping. This kind of pricing is especially helpful for families trying to manage expenses without compromising on freshness or quality. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking to save on your grocery bills.

I had a wonderful experience at Swadeshi! The food was absolutely delicious – full of authentic Swadeshi flavors that felt both comforting and refined. They were perfectly seasoned, and the gravlax was so fresh and flavorful. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff made me feel right at home with their friendly service. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into both the food and the overall experience. I’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy genuine Swadeshi cuisine!

I love the chaats and biryanis here. Especially the masala puri and dahi puri are the best. The staff here are very warm welcoming. Make sure to taste their masala chai.

Swadeshi is a friendly, no-frills spot in a strip-mall that consistently delivers bold, satisfying Indian flavors. Think generous portions, authentic dishes from all regions of India—especially South/Andhra specialties—and a modest but welcoming atmosphere.

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this store. I purchased a few hair color packets that were supposed to have a valid expiry date from 2023 to 2025 which are displayed on outer package. However, upon closer inspection of the individual packets inside, I discovered that the actual expiry dates ranged from 2020 to 2022, making the products not just expired but dangerously outdated. This raises serious concerns about the integrity of the business practices here. It seems likely that the store tampered with the outer packaging to deceive customers into thinking they were buying safe and fresh products. Selling expired products is not only unethical but also poses a health risk to customers. To add insult to injury, they charged $3.99 per packet for this expired product, which is utterly unacceptable. I urge the store management to take accountability for this and implement stricter quality checks. This kind of deceitful behavior is not only harmful to the customers but also damages trust in the brand. For potential customers: I strongly advise you to double-check the expiry dates on all products before making a purchase here. Be cautious, as tampering with dates appears to be a possibility.

Yelp
lots of varieties to choose from. food is delicious and prices are reasonable. lots of veg and non veg options to choose from. will definately visit again.

Ram S.

Yelp
very filthy all through the place and crowded and there is chaos inside all the time with no one following any rules of standing in line or waiting their turn. food used to be good but with growing business, quality and taste has gone down.

ravi c.

Yelp
Ordered Chicken tikka kabab and butter naan online. Stopped by the time I received the alert. Kabab was ok, it is dry in the corners and did not have spice. Butter naan was tough and chewy was not enjoyable!

Chaitu A.

Yelp
Wow this place is packed and has a lot of varieties to offer. I can not fathom how this place is managed and designed. It is such a complex setting and I don't know how they pulled it off. Self service ordering works flawlessly. Items arrive reasonably fast. People are friendly. Food was good. Options that come with food are great. Giving Sambar and 4 types of chutneys for most of the south Indian items is amazing. I felt that the value is good. Then the meat section, diary.. what not. Just one stop for all Indian needs. I wish they open a franchise in every major cities. This is golden.

Srija R.

Yelp
Food is amazing We ordered dosa (if you like dosa try telling them to make it crispy) it taste so good and try there dhahi puri Samosa and sugarcane juice is so yum.must try those and the service is good and ambiance is also good A good thing is they have grocery store included in it.so we can shop the groceries and try there yum yum food

Yelp
I had no idea Swadeshi was at this location. It's an Indian Supermarket with a restaurant on the side. I love samosas and I heard they sold them. I decided to give the place a try. The samosas are really delicious, they have lots of other foods from their culture, but I went for Samosas and it was a win for me. They Supermarket had fresh mint so I picked some up, I love fresh mint. I will be back for more samosas and maybe try something else.

Kibui B.

Yelp
Sitting behind the Racetrac on 121/independence is a supermarket(store) and a restaurant serving some serious Indian fare. I swung by for a quick meal, and I must apologize for not taking pics of the cakes which look absolutely amazing or the array of food available. My plate came out on about 5-6 minutes and honestly don't why it took so long, there was no line. That kind of thing irritates me immensely but we will move along. The tables are all right next to each other so the ambiance isn't the best for an extended sit down. This is a spot where you come in, get your food, eat and bounce!! That said, the thali is fantastic value for money. It come with a papadam, which is a light crispy deep fried dough.....like a big chip made from gram flour. A chapati(tortilla) and then an assorted if daal(lentils) and 2 types of chicken, a soothing raitha(yoghurt type dressing and two types of rice; one plain, they other full of flavor, nuts and spices. Food is very good!!! Value for money, this could be a meal for two if they aren't trying to gorge themselves. Free water available from a dispenser so I got some of that too. The mango lassi was $4.99 and it was tart and not sweet enough; I added half my sevaya kheer to it (think a milky pudding with vermicelli rice, cardamom, almonds ) I would go back for lunch and maybe dinner. They have a massive menu and dosa bar so I will be taking wife and kids to try it out.

Marilyn B.

Yelp
The food is good, a little on the spicier side but that's how it should be, I'm warning you to order that lassi, your going to need it. This is a store that added a eat in dining area the tables are on top of each other. If you are ordering food to go, it's fine but you can't take Dosai or puri to go, that's not going to work, these are dishes that you need to eat fresh from the stove. It's a must. However if you are ordering rice and curry dishes by all means take it to go and eat in the comfort of your home because this place is packed like a can of sardines. Let me explain how this works you have to first get in line, order your food, and then go to the separate stations to collect your food. It was a little chaotic for me. Although the food was good. I enjoy eating in a peaceful environment. Maybe the next time I'll get hang of it and this was just the learning curve. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Anyway you got your food, you need a table, after this fiasco's and you finally sit and get to eat, the food is tasty and you will be glad that you came. I had the pan puri- sorry my pics aren't great. There are so many amazing dishes to try at this place. Things that you ordinarily wouldn't get at a restaurant or only get in India. The menu is so vast. You need 10 minutes to just read. Also Maybe lunchtime is less hectic.. They also serve fresh, fresh, sugarcane, juice, and fresh pomegranate juice. I was just overwhelmed with all of the amazing foods that I've only seen in India being served in Texas. Definitely check this place out.. But be forewarned of the chaos. They also have amazing looking fresh sweets, I wish I tried them- next time.

Ashwin K.

Yelp
Chaotic and crowded, and food is too overpriced for its quality. A $6 drink had only around 6 oz and the walkways are barely large enough to get through.

Shoba S.

Yelp
If you want great food - this is the place you come - Please don't care too much about ambience - you won't get it!! But the food / snacks/ cakes/ fresh juice/ falooda/ sugar cane juice etc makes up more for the very regular ambience. I love their paneer tikka masala/ veg Manchurian and their snacks variety - panneer puff/ cream bun/ all kinds of pastries / made to order cakes/ masala peanuts etc. it's almost like you are in India! Now they have also started selling vegetable saplings !! With an attached Indian store - what more do you need??

Rabi V.

Yelp
The food has become poor to worse. Now that they have thousands of Indians moving to the area - their service has gone bad with an absolute indifference attitude. Very sad.

Rekha S.

Yelp
I ordered Chicken pulav and desi yogurt on June 8th for dinner in uber eats. In addition to the food, the restaurant packed a long hair piece of the restaurant staff in the chicken pulav box mixed with the food as a compliment to me. I did not see it until one day later after receiving the order. This caused disgust. I threw rest of the food and informed uber eats for the refund to pay. It's food safety regulation issue which the restaurant violated, and action should be taken. Uber eats responded to my complaint saying they have directed this matter to the restaurant and take the appropriate actions. So far I have not received the refund nor the response from the restaurant. Shame to this restaurant and never ever order any kind of food from this place. Food also not tasty and hygienic. Worst restaurant.

Siva A.

Yelp
Beware that even if you order in App, you still have to stand in line for payment and pickup. App doesn't have payment option. Dedicated mobile orders line is also used as walk-in order line so you still have to wait in line to make payment so I advice don't download app and pay here. Also employees or good but most of the older people may be managers are rude when you ask about anything they say just wait we are busy in very rude way. These management people or very rude and head-weight people may be they became like this because of lot of business they see. There more better place who respect their customers with good food than this place And ambience of this place is very bad you can't go lower than this.

Ma R.

Yelp
Worst in person experience ! In there and 4 items to be picked up from 4 places. No structure or process. Rude staff ! Horrible place

Ramya R.

Yelp
Went to this place to grab some evening snacks and Irani chai. They have quite a few options in both vegetarian and meat snacks. We ordered chilli chicken and veg-puff. They both tasted good but I must warn that they mix a lot of fried green finger peppers with the chili chicken and I recommend not to get tempted to eat a lot of them or else the next few hours you will increase your trips to the restroom ;-) Irani chai was good and I would suggest you to order "strong" chai as the regular chai might be too sweet. They have outdoor seating available and we had a good time that evening eating spicy snacks with piping hot chai.

Prag R.

Yelp
This is one of the most popular places I have seen and been to in Dallas. After hearing the food being so good, planned to come down for dinner yesterday. The place was packed, packed as in there wasn't any way for us to walk. The tables were full, there were people all over and the lines were long. We didn't want to wait for hours to get our food, so grabbed the falooda and sugarcane juice to go. Both the drinks were good, will come back to dine in someday.

Shy S.

Yelp
First time visiting this place. Don't think I'll be going back. Stopped by for some bakery/sweets to-go. Made no sense that I had to order at the cash register all the way on the other side where the desserts were completely out of sight and expected to know what some of the unlabeled baked goods were called. So inconvenient. Instead, the dessert section was completely blocked with people waiting for their orders as instructed. Not a customer friendly set up. Poor customer service. Desserts were decent once we navigated through the chaos. They had all sorts of fun cake slices with Indian sweets incorporated. Decently priced too.

Chaitanya Y.

Yelp
Same food quality all the time. Their biryani is prepared right to the order. FISH FRY is must try starter.

Harish V.

Yelp
Good place to get Indian Groceries, Snacks and Irani Chai. Pros: ------- Good Food Grocery Free parking Patio Inexpensive Cons: ------- None to me

Santy C.

Yelp
11/2/2022 @5.45pm. They need to realize they are in business because of their customers. The restaurant ordering and pickup could be improved. Some bad apples fulfilling orders spoil the experience. You don't leave the customer waiting especially after receiving a partial order. On top of it, you will get some attitude if you remind them. Swadeshi - teach your staff some manners.

Bob J.

Yelp
The place has always been a unorganized disaster but the dosa was good. Now they got a new dosa guy and the dosa is horrible. Now it's not worth going to.

Kalyan V.

Yelp
Just ordered 4 naans, they said 10 minutes but took 30 minutes. I'd avoid this place on Sunday

Josie M.

Yelp
The restaurant side can be overwhelming if you're not familiar with what the foods are called or what process is the first time you attempt to order food. We went Saturday afternoon which was busy but not unbearable. Note that you can wait quite a while for your food order, about 20-30 minutes, but I attribute that to they're making it as you order. I found the cashier staff person helpful. We identified ourselves as not knowing how the process works. Also note, not everything on the appetizer menu is available. You may have to have a plan of options if what you ask for isn't available. The food is good. You can get their recommendations if you are uncertain what to ask for. We ordered a chicken appetizer, noodles, and a goat dish and asked for naan bread. It was all terrific!

Abhijit K.

Yelp
Aa always.. food is very good & service is quick. Only problem is it is too much crowded. Yesterday had goat karahi, saag paneer & samosas... absolutely fantastic... enjoyed all the food

Eric C.

Yelp
First visit to the food court was A+! It's much larger inside than I anticipated with plenty of seating. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Tons of premade entrees and a huge menu if you prefer made to order. I opted for the butter chicken and chicken tiki masala. Both came with multiple options of 2x rice or naan. The food was delicious and they give large portions. Each dish is easily two meals. It took about 20 minutes to prepare. They offer 10% discount for cash.

Neena R.

Yelp
The food was fresh and price is reasonable I love how they have so many varieties This is my go to place if I want to have snacks or tiffens Can't wait to try biriyani

Tommy N.

Yelp
Amazing food that we get take out! Great desserts and if you want plenty of groceries!

Adiyana S.

Yelp
Best informal snack place near Dallas, TX. My favorite meal is pani puri, my husband loves the samosas (with corn and the one with onions). The sugarcane juice with ginger is very unique

D B.

Yelp
I am very displeased from the absolute disorganized, chaos, and lack of hygiene this restaurant is operating under. No social distance is maintained here. Staff does not care about the mess the dirty floor and tables are left everyday without any deep cleaning Bathroom is in nasty condition All plastic ware is kept in open with no protection from airborne germs There are no sanitizer stations or bottles for customers Staff is unable to explain what's in the food. Their normal answer is 'something like that...'. No idea what that means. They have no care for customers with dietary restrictions from nut or dairy allergies. Again people who work there are very rude and are not trained to answer any questions. I hope the Frisco health department sends health inspectors to investigate the restaurant operations. Owner needs to step up his care for his customers, employees, and improve hygiene!!!

Maggie K.

Yelp
What more can this store offer, it has everything under one roof. It has Indian groceries and a cafeteria which has plenty of options. Love the street food menu, especially drew my attention to gauva chaat. This chaat was brilliant and my tastebuds were so happy. The spice was spot on with amazing flavor. A small container which could feed two easily was priced about 5$. This cafeteria also has fresh sugarcane juice and green tender coconut, yet to try them on my next trip. The groceries are much cheaper compared to other Indian stores. Can't wait to go back more often to try more of those street foods.

Sandeep G.

Yelp
Well this is again a review for the cafeteria and not the store. The chaos continues and if you can deal with it then it honestly offers consistently good flavorful food which is not just spicy hot. The prices are decent and paying $11.99 for a serving of Chettinad Chicken may sound pricey compare to say $8.99 at other comparable establishment in the area, but it comes with 2 butter Naans and not just measly portion of rice. The Tikka Kababs we ordered were great that to at a price of $7.99. But then why just 4 stars, you may ask. I will give you two reasons. The Papdi Chaat and the Pani Puri that was served was unrecognizable. I have not had hot (temperature) yellow peas gravy in either Pani Puri or Papdi Chaat ever in my life. Not bad as far as taste but certainly not something I will ever get here again. Second reason. We ordered the Chaat for dine-in and the Chettinad Chicken and Tikka Kabab to-go but the servers missed the to-go instruction and they served it as dine-in and had to ask them to pack it to go. Let me add two bonus reason. The place is Chaotic. I had to pick-up my order at three different counters. They took my mobile number and informed me that I will get a text as soon as the order is ready but instead someone shouted my name!! Bonus 2. The folks managing the Chaat counter are operating in a very large space as they also manage orders that require Parottas and Tea and sugarcane juice. Getting their attention and the food quick (unless it is chaat) can be an issue. They don't do it intentionally but 2 people managing a large diverse portfolio can be challenging Suggestion to the management. You serve good food. Good flavors, good variety but the place is chaotic and looks a but run-down. Please try and spruce up your image. I have been there a few times (this is my 3rd review) but I have only seen once someone cleaning up the tables!

Muthukumar K.

Yelp
One word to describe the experience - chaos. Loud music make the experience from bad to worse. food quality is hit or miss. Dosas are bathed in oil. Same with curry. Fresh watermelon juice is pre made and pretty bad. Always crowded with no place to sit. Management can make simple changes like serving all the food from a single counter and reduce the music volume to make it better.

Pritha A.

Yelp
It was Saturday morning 10/10/2020, came in to place a to-go Breakfast combo order for three, and three separate Entrees. Let me say that it wasn't crowded and the people behind the counter were too busy talking amongst themselves and they packed my food, and I left with an eagerness to enjoy the breakfast combo!!! Got home and to my utter disappointment, the combo was short changed missing three Dosa's and was missing my 1 entree!!! Lesson learnt!!! Never leave this place without examining the contents!!! And they charged for all these.

Arun S.

Yelp
Authentic Indian Street, food and great menu of items, including Halim and chicken pakora. Loyal and regular customer !

Deborah S.

Yelp
We came here with our son & his fiancé before we we catching a movie. Our son used to deliver meat here and said the food was fresh, fast & delicious! He was right! We had Butter chicken, and curry mutten and other dishes. Everything was tasted great!

Jabeen L.

Yelp
First visit, found the food delicious. It was crowded, loud and not very clean but was excited at the find. Second visit, food was just as good but really got turned off by the dirty tables, floor, smelly trash bins, loud music amidst the crowd. Sadly my husband refuses to go back there. I will visit but only to get items to go. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene is definitely a must at this location.

Sanket A.

Yelp
I love the food here. Have taken to-go vegetarian options from here and each time the food exceeded my expectations. The staff is very accommodating too. Portion size is very decent too. I love their kadhai paneer and garlic naan and will soon be back for more.

Nitin S.

Yelp
This is a review after about 4-5 takeout orders over the past couple months from Swadeshi Plaza. I wanted to give this time since a lot of Indian places start off great and then quickly go downhill. First off if you are expecting ambience or good service then this is not the place for you. This place specializes in food that's more the Indian spice level and significant portion sizes. Bulk of the business is take out although they have a big seating area. As for food, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, methi chicken, Andhra chicken are some good chicken curry dishes. I also highly recommend their biryani - especially chicken65 and goat. The nan is also really good and always freshly made.

Siddharth M.

Yelp
This is one of the most popular places in Frisco for food but I'm not sure why. Me personally I do not like this restaurant. For starters one day I wanted try the panner Frankie and believe me when I say this jr was one of the worst foods I have ever tried. Another day we went to order samosas we ordered them, we payed and everything but just two minutes later they said they didn't have any and we had to change our order. Food overall is not very good I would not recommend to everyone.

Ramana K.

Yelp
One of the best place that I've been in recent days, delicious food we tried different chatta and pani poori, quality, quantity everything is good. Definitely highly recommended for friends aNd family to hangout. It's became a hangout spot for me and my friends everyday. Hope they continue their quality of food.

Jonathan P.

Yelp
Great place! Legit flavors! The authenticity of their dishes is reflected by the fact that there was a line out the door at 8:30 pm and we were the only non Indian customers. I'll be back next time I am in Frisco.

Ranjith T.

Yelp
Over crowded, rude staff and aweful food. Ordered pav bhaji, pav is cold and hard as if taken from freezer bhaji masala is bland without any taste. Only svaing grace is sugarcane juice.

Balaji B.

Yelp
Ordered veg puffs for my son's birthday party, everyone liked them.I surely recommend their food.

Ram D.

Yelp
Purchased a jack fruit (but not meant to be called as fruit) in store .It was green and when I insisted someone to cut , I was refused by the workers in the store . After 2 days when i cut the fruit ,it was a total waste . In their sale receipt , they have said NO EXCHANGE FOR MEAT, FROZEN VEGETABLE & DAIRY PRODUCTS ,yet the customer representative is refusing to accept the return of this item . I would never recommend this store since they don't honor they own words and the customer service is very poor

Rc M.

Yelp
This place is hit/miss on some visits the food is good on some visits its bland... Tried their chai/chats/food/curries

Ketan G.

Yelp
Be prepared to spare an hour to just get your food on the table if your are coming to dine in here over the weekend or if have ordered pick up. This place is extremely busy. There are three separate lines one to order the food, one to self-pick up the ordered food for dine in and one to pick up the to go food. Its quite confusing and chaotic and seems like the food is being served for free. No doubt the food is good and nothing to take away from the chefs to preparing such great food.....but for me the inconvenience outweighs the taste(that's why two stars). What is the point if you are having to wait for hours for dine in as well as to go orders? The management and organization needs to improve a lot. Once the food is ordered they say they are going to send the text but often the text isn't sent, so you have to check with them back and forth if the food is ready. Its madness. They need to handle the demand better otherwise the customers will be lost due to bad experiences.

Tena S.

Yelp
This used to be a really good place. However recently I went to in person and found the hygiene to be completely unacceptable. In the current environment, it is a bit most important that the basics be done. No thank you I will not risk getting sick by food contamination and improper hand-washing. Oh yes and the finger nail in my food Was beyond disgusting

Ranjani R.

Yelp
Tried everything on their menu. Now we go just for ghee Kara dosa, bhel puri and pachadis. If you haven't tried their tomato, eggplant, beerakai pachadi , do try them, it is spicy but tastes very good

Michael J.

Yelp
It was easily over an hour before our food was ready for the driver to even pick up. They were very rude and unfriendly when I asked what was causing the delay. Looking back we should've just canceled the order and gone with something else. I realize that it takes awhile to get the food ready and get it out however if you're running that far behind maybe you should stop taking orders for a bit and focus on getting the orders you already have in backlog finished and out. I can't bring myself to try it again.
