Swagyu Burger Bar

We look for interesting destinations that give incentive to run. We found Swagyu Burger Bar in La Mesa and plotted a 5 mile run to get there from home for a good cheeseburger at the end and got way more than we expected! Top tier burger for sure and the vibe made enjoying the food even better. Friendly staff made us feel welcome. We will be back!

Went for lunch today, ordered our food and 2 waters, the water was only half full, waitress felt like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Food came out quickly. But we never got refill on water, never checked in on us after our food was delivered, waitress was just on her laptop the whole time. Fry's were under cooked and had soaked up so much beef tallo that they were not good, maybe the oil was not hot enough, zero crunch on the fry, just kinda soggy. American burger with added bacon was good, bun was great and very good cook on the party and bacon. Western burger had too much sauce that overwhelmed the bun and patty made it tough to pick out any flavor other than the sauce. Overall would not recommend, there are so many other burger spots in San Diego.

I had been to the PB location prior, and the La Mesa location was all of that and more. The burger was perfect, fries great, and Sarah’s service was phenomenal. Will definitely be coming back!

Best burger in East County and it ain’t even close! The flavor of Swagyu’s meat (Even the boo-boo $8 burger) is unmatched, it makes Beef n Bun taste like A55 n Bunz. Speaking of, Swagyu’s bun stays crispy and dry while you experience the waterfall of Wagyu fat oozing out of the patties. The American cheese taste better than everyone else!! Is it homemade? Gots to be. The pickles are for sure homemade and they are the perfect balance of sweet and acidity with a perfect snap. The sweet potato fries are GOAT’ed as well…SO GOOD! Besides the food, Sarah the manager is fantastic and takes GREAT care of us when we are there. Pour up a frosty Buenaveza (literally the draft metal is frozen) or your favorite cocktail and this is the by far the best upscale burger experience in East county. Well done Chef Brown and team! Edit: anything slightly off-color in my review is attributed to Sarah, who pours cocktails HEAVY. Carry on y’all 😎

Everything about this place is so perfect. Fast service, amazing burgers and fries and a full bar to sit at. Buenaveza is a beer on tap that i never tried before….10/10. Sweet potato waffle fries 10/10. OG burger with a katsu cheese ordered on top and western burger with the katsu. AMAZINGGGGG. Huge shoutout to the GM Sarah for excellent service and the rest of the staff. I will be back for another wonderful experience

Full service bar, amazing food,very family friendly. Service was amazing! I ordered the OG and let me say it was 100% worth the money spent! The two girls behind the bar were very friendly and super attentive. Will definitely be coming back for another drink!

Amazing! Big Swagyu fan and stopped by at the new location sitting at the bar for a burger and beer! They have a crazy selection of cocktails and nice tap beers. buenaveza and a smash burger delicious!

Delicious as always! And I love that they have different kinds of Wagyu to fit your budget. The sides are amazing, especially the fries and onion rings!
