Saw this place on social media, so I wanted to check it out with my son (10). Upon arrival, there was no host. Once we were noticed by a young lady sweeping the floors, we were sat relatively quick after they dry wiped a table. We weren't seen again for 15-20 minutes. We had a lot of time and noticed the flow and atmosphere. The music was loud, but not enough to drown conversations. The area in the middle of the floor had a wet floor sign the entire time we were there. It was indeed slippery. It wouldn't be a big deal, except this was a high-traffic, narrow walking path to the restrooms due to the table arrangements. It seemed like an acceptable standard to use the sign rather than cleaning/drying the floor. We noticed that the chairs, tables, and black painted concrete floors had remnants of fried food. We also saw a group with 3 classless women walking in wearing lace tops with their cheeks hanging out. I figured it was also an acceptable standard with the management because nothing was said even as they started line dancing. Just as my son's patience started growing thin and we were about to walk out the bartender noticed. She was very nice and seemed concerned that no one had asked us for a drink. After she brought us soft drinks, my son noticed they were flat/watered down. He also had something floating his (pictured). To me, it appeared like a rubber band for braces. The bartender was nice about the situation, but asked if we were sure it was flat because they "pour sodas from cans". That was questionable because, canned soda can still be expired and it would seem more logical to just serve the cold cans. It tasted like an off-brand 2L bottle that had been opened earlier and poured for us in the evening. The other questionable response was telling us that what we saw in the drink was "sugar." I've never seen sugar that floated to the top of a glass.
Besides the aforementioned, their food was decent. I can't say anything negative about anything I ate. Their menu seems built around mostly fried entrées and they do very well at that. We ordered the wings in 3 different variations. They are all fried well and had very tasty batter and seasoning. The BBQ and Buffalo sauces are served on the side instead of tossed. My son (10) said buffalo sauce tasted like Frank's red hot sauce. I didn't try it. The boudain stuffed wings were definately good, but not something I would recommend over other experiences around Houston.
