I went to Swan Dive for Emo Night. I ordered two Jack and Cokes from two different bartenders, and I got charged two different prices for the same drink. When I pointed it out to the bartender who rung me up the second time — who was a woman with long black hair, glasses with thick black frames, and tattoos — she was incredibly rude to me and gave me attitude during our whole interaction. She refused to do anything about it and doubled down on the higher price, even when I asked her to talk to the bartender who charged me the lower price and described to her what the other bartender looked like. Luckily another bartender, who had blonde hair and a mustache, overheard the conversation, asked me what was going on, and immediately offered to fix the situation. Unfortunately I was not able to get names of the bartenders (I think the person with blond hair’s name is Tim?), but thanks to him, we were able to get everything resolved.
I have worked in customer service my entire working career, and I used to bartend too. I understand that mistakes happen, especially in a fast-paced environment with loud music. I even told the bartender who fixed my tab that I was willing to pay the difference for the drinks if I was charged in error and the correct price was actually the higher amount. What I don’t appreciate is how poorly I was treated by the female bartender when I pointed out the difference and how unprofessional and defensive she acted. That kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and needs to be checked. The only reason why I am not giving a one-star review was because of the other bartender’s professionalism and initiative. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back here.
