In the mood for delicious Thai food in downtown Aspen? Sway Thai Aspen is a must. Excellent service; high quality, fresh ingredients; thoughtfully prepared; central location; upscale & classy feel; not cheap but relatively affordable compared to most options in town; paid parallel street parking during morning/afternoon, evenings free; intimate bar; moderate noise level but lighting was a bit too dark (was hard to see detail of food & the person sitting across from me); overall, great food, service & experience. Highly recommended. Support your local small businesses & restaurants.

Google
Gorgeous restaurant with great food and lovely service. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The appetizers were the highlight of our dinner. the dumplings and summer spring rolls were absolutely delicious. The staff were so kind and attentive! Also, the candle in their bathroom smells amazing! I’m tempted to track it down for my own home. 😄

Wow! Stopped in for happy hour (4-5pm) and it blew my doors off. 1/2 price any liquor(including top shelf) beer, wine and small bites. Daniel the bartender gave phenomenal service- he was very knowledgeable, personable and made a great cocktail! 10/10 recommend!

Google
Came here with high hopes, but unfortunately the experience didn’t match the price. The food looked nice and was decent, but nothing really stood out for the cost. The bill came out to $134, which felt way too high for what I actually got. The portions were on the smaller side, and the flavors were just average – not something I’d expect at that price point. Service was good but overall I left feeling disappointed and not like I got my money’s worth.

A few days ago we had dinner at Sway, and it was the highlight of our trip. First of all, the service was outstanding, our server Jose was Phenomenal really attentive and warm also knowledgeable we really enjoy the time we spent there. Ambiance was warm and really inviting, the food was out of this world. We really recommend Sway definitely coming back!

Google
Dined at this Thai restaurant and had a mixed experience. The ambiance was delightful and cozy lighting that created a vibrant atmosphere. The service was excellent; our server was attentive Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. Many dishes were on the sweeter side, which is unlike the bold, spicy flavors I typically associate with Thai cuisine.

Google
One of our best dining experiences. Amazing choices dor vegetarians. Not your run of the mill asian menu. Rather each dish was unique and so well thought. Everything had a different taste and we loved it. As you can see didnt do a great job at photos as the food was amazing and clicking photos was an after thought in cases. Their Eggplant based dish was amazing!! Highly recommend who wants hot, tasty, unique menu. Esp vegetarians

Google
Great food and service, the dumplings are delicious. I think we got almost half of the menu and everything was great.

Yelp
If you're looking to elevate your next large gathering to something unforgettable--Sway Thai Aspen is the only way to go! We recently enjoyed Sway Thai Aspen as part of a large‑group catering over the weekend, and they delivered nothing short of a culinary highlight that felt like dining out...while still being at home. Sway's team made it seamless too. They handled a large‑party order with ease, arriving with everything clearly labeled and perfectly transported to be plated and served at our private gathering. Having enjoyed Sway at their beautiful Aspen location...I can attest that there was not a degree of delightful difference in quality, taste, and sheer enjoyment of every bite when ordering for a large group gathering. I can't recommend Sway Aspen's catering highly enough for large groups. Whether you're hosting friends, family, or co-workers, they'll bring bold, elevated Thai cuisine, effortless service, and a truly memorable shared experience.

Yelp
Every visit to Aspen this place is on our list. Usually just have the staff decide our menu and they've never steered us wrong. Vibe fits perfectly and I can't wait to come back soon. Thanks Sway!

Yelp
Happy hour, 12-5 is absolutely incredible, literally 50% off every cocktail as well as 6-7 really good appetizers. Way good deal! All of the food is fantastic. I have nothing bad to say. Even the service is great. The Thai snack papaya salad is SO good. But also hot!!

Yelp
This was the best place we ate all week in Aspen! Everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere, it was perfect! We didn't have one bite of food and recommend EVERYTHING we got!

Yelp
Stop here for dinner after skiing. We had a party of seven. The beet salad was good as were the dumplings. No one really liked any of their main courses. The Pad Thai and the vegetable fried rice lacked flavor. The steak was not very flavorful. The green curry and yellow had flavor and were good. Service was excellent. Cute little restaurant with bench seats located in the middle of town.

Yelp
Stopped in aspen on our way home for some lunch. Sway didn't have a wait which was great! We sat outside on the patio and it was very nice. We arrived during their happy hour which was a surprise. We ordered a couple of plates to share for the table. The short rib fried rice was my favorite and a close second was the crispy shumai! The happy hour was a very reasonable price and we were all full by the end. If you are in town you should check out Sway!

Yelp
Great service, ambience and excellent food to top it all! Loved the lighting here, really adds to the experience. Their drink menu is excellent, tried their 'same same tonic' which is made with galangal and lime, gin and tonic, best drink I have ever had. Minimalistic but so so good! For the appetizers their vegetarian momos really hit the spot with the sauce it came with. Green curry was so good, not that spicy but really good flavor! The best part was the dessert, jasmine tea pannacotta was the best dessert I have ever had! Subtle flavors of jasmine tea, shaved ice and crispy meringue. I will never forget how special it felt to be devouring this! We had a great time here! Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Sway Thai Fusion was recommended by a friend who lives in Woody Creek. She said she had a fantastic experience so of course she wanted her Florida friends to check it out. We arrived and the ambiance was really artsy and earthy. Loved it! (Taurus vibes!) We were seated right away and the seating was roomy and comfy. I loved that their menu was a manageable size and there weren't an astronomical amount of choices. We asked our server, Daniel (who was fantastic btw), for suggestions and we were steered in the right direction! First courses included the appetizer special - salmon miange, and dumplings crispy pork + shrimp * fermented black bean, kewpie mayo, herb salad, red nahm jim. Ohhhh my gosh both of these were so freakin' good I was making all the food noises and couldn't stop! lol The dumplings were covered in crispy shallots and the spicy sauce was whoooo spicy but the flavor--mwah! Couldn't have been better. Those salmon bites were served on bai cha plu (wild pepper leaves I believe) and wow, were they just succulent. The salmon was fatty and rich. The lemongrass was so refreshing. I could have eaten twenty of those things, but I digress. The second courses were the chicken pad Thai and the panang curry with short rib. I say that I've never had a panang curry like what Sway offers. The pad Thai was beautifully prepared. They didn't mail it in. The most commonly ordered Thai dish was definitely given its due respect. But that damn panang curry. It was so unique and earthly! Not the pink/red/creamy typical panang curry I've had in the past. It was a deep brown, almost like mole but with coconut cream added and the meat was juicy and tender. My mouth was overjoyed. Let's get to this dessert though! I want it right now. I think I'll want it everyDAY for the rest of my life. It was a banana mousse brulee. Typically I never get dessert at Thai places b/c they are just wack. Either over sweet or just not my thing ("fried" ice cream, fried banana, etc.) But this dessert was one of the top ten desserts I've had this year so far. I was like a bananas foster creme brulee. It was so freaking good, I wanted to order another one immediately! But I was afraid the Aspen Task Force of Acceptable Social Activites would swoop in and arrest me for big back behavior :( Overall, I was thoroughly pleased and I can't wait to return. I hope Sway can hang in Aspen's highly competitive restaurant scene. I don't drink so I can't speak to the cocktails but the food was spectacular. Thank you Sway, you have my heart! Another review giving it to you straight, no chaser! Enjoy! ;)

Yelp
LOVE. This place has a cool, dark vibe inside for dinner service. The server was attentive and helpful. The food was the star! We had the chicken wings and the short rib dumplings to start. Then shared the brisket pad Thai and chicken curry. Honestly it was almost too much food for just 2 of us. I would have skipped the dumplings (they were great, just our least favorite). They also have a great selection of cocktails, wine and saki. I will definitely be back!!

Padma L.

Yelp
The food was tasty . However the waitress described the entrees as Family portions ... Not!! They are enough for 1 person only . We were 4 of us and ordered to share and were disappointed about portion size . Ambiance was great , with patio lights and outdoor seating. Weather was great !

Anna S.

Yelp
This place was definitely a food highlight for me during our time in Aspen. Maybe that's because we had only been eating at Italian restaurants up until then, but I really loved my curry at this place. Not sure if my family would agree since they had some complaints about the dishes and service, but overall we had a very enjoyable time. We all agreed that the green curry was the best but that the pad Thai and fried dishes were either too bland or too saucy without flavour. We actually ended up sending almost two full plates back. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my curry. Maybe I just got lucky and ordered the right thing but I loved my dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
The service and the food was outstanding. Had the green curry, lotus salad and the pork dumplings. Will go back!!

Yelp
Food here is incredible! Pretty much anything on the menu is perfection. One of our favorites was the crunchy dumplings, so unique and delicious. We got the medium sized beef rib and it was cooked perfectly! Usually don't order slow cooked meats at restaurants but they definitely know what they are doing here.

Yelp
Beautiful interior. Warm, dim, trendy with polished finishes. We sat at a high top and got reservations the day before. Food: Best tuna poke bowl I've ever had. It had so many flavor layers. Killer. The Colorado Lamb Ribs were delicious too with generous portions. We got a side of bok choy to round out it out. Those three orders were plenty of food for the two of us. I would recommend ordering one small and one large plate to share for parties of two. Crème brûlée was definitely worth the calorie splurge, do not miss that dessert. Price was pretty reasonable! We got out with one drink each, three food orders, tax and tip for $180. That's practically a sale for the Aspen culinary scene! My only critique was the timing, hence the four stars. Our drinks were late coming the table and came a few minutes after our food...which came all at once and was not staggered. Didn't love that. The best part about enjoying a meal out is sipping on a cocktail whilst waiting for food. They missed the mark there. Also it was a quick turnaround. The entire dinner was about 50 mins. Shuttled in , shuttled out, I would have preferred to linger

Yelp
Super nice staff , very good food, a welcoming vibe at the door. Give it a try. The pork/shrimp dumplings, brisket fried rice & yellow curry were especially delicious!
google avatar

Steve Y.

Yelp
Beautiful lighting, nice ambiance and delicious food. The Yellow curry was absolutely amazing. Relaxing atmosphere and pricing is Aspen Reasonable!

Yelp
The interior decor of the place attracted us as we were passing by. Once we stepped in and had food, the food too impressed us. The server was courteous and attended well. I wish the serving size for the delicious food was more.

Yelp
Unless you love very spicy food, do not go there. I could hardly eat anything. My partner who likes spicy foods even said that most of them would be inedible for an average person. Too bad. We had such a high hope......

Chris L.

Yelp
We got fried rice - phad Thai - friend lobster - best fried rice we've ever had, had fresh Thai basil in the rice, the phad Thai was also one of the best we've had, was skeptical about the green beans, but I gave it a perfect crunch! The fried lobster is another level. It comes with two dipping sauces, and it has this black pepper coating on the outside of the shell that is on another level. So good!

Yelp
I've been a long time fan of the Austin location so I was tickled to find this one! It is FANTASTIC!!! Amazing dishes, fantastic service and a very clean and welcoming setting.

Adam W.

Yelp
Incredible food and services, went back twice while in Aspen. We did not mind the price, the food was just too good!

Todd S.

Yelp
We came here, hopeful for a delicious Thai meal and while the steamed vegetables shumai and fresh spring rolls were fabulous, we got a salt and pepper lobster that tasted like ammonia. The manager agreed. We then got the Seabass and it tasted like ammonia as well. For those of you who don't eat a lot of seafood, when you eat seafood that tastes like ammonia that's because it's old. To finish on a positive note our server was also exceptional.

Yelp
As you can see I love Thai and highly recommend them. Everything was a A. We loved the variety of dishes and service.

Yelp
Sway is a phenomenal place to eat. To date, one of the best Thai meals I've ever had. I came here for dinner. The ambiance was chill. The service was top-notch. The food was fresh, delicious, and high quality. I recommend the pad thai, green curry, and dumplings.
google avatar

Amiel C.

Yelp
One of the few great restaurants in Aspen. Without any pretentious, wholesome modern Thai cuisine, and attentive service. It is a must for anyone coming to Aspen! Everything on the menu was to die for. From the salad to pot and shrimp dumpling to prawns to son-in-law to whole fish, you simply cannot go wrong!
google avatar

Hayley B.

Yelp
Amazing Thai restaurant in Aspen!! Great vibe, great food, and great service. Eduardo was our server and gave us awesome recommendations. It's share style with apps for a little taste, but large portions for "entree" dishes. We had 3 people, got the prawns, crab & shrimp dumplings, "son in law", and the crab fried rice. All delicious!!! We had lots of leftovers. Yes it's pricey because it's Aspen, but great value and totally worth it. Highly recommend. Still thinking about this meal daily lol.

Ashley B.

Yelp
We had Sway cater a dinner party for a group of 10 people and it was great. The quality of the food was impressive - it was as if we were eating at the restaurant. Food traveled well, had depth of flavor and made hosting easy. I highly recommend.

Gigi T.

Yelp
Service was great! Food, wonderful. Restaurant looks nice has a good vibe. However we and few other guests were seated behind a screen that sort of cut us off from the rest of the restaurant. Wish they would remove that screen!

Debi F.

Yelp
This is based on a takeout order. Outrageously expensive for Thai food in any city. Its expense and lack of quality of the food encourages me to tell folk that they are better off having Thai food in the cities and towns in which they live. To top it off, when I asked for the pad thai not to be spicey/hot, it came spicey. So much for paying attention to the customer. The ambiance inside seems quite nice, the bar included but its not worth it. I have to give a one star rating just to get this posted, but in reality I give it a zero. This is not a place I recommend.

Anon Y.

Yelp
Found a piece of rubber band in my crab fried rice. I have never had a good experience from ordering takeout from this restaurant. Love eating in the restaurant and the service is typically great, but it is absolutely unacceptable to have foreign objects in food. Had to throw my meal away out of fear of what I was actually consuming.

N S.

Yelp
I HIGHLY recommend this spot. Amazing food, staff and service. My boyfriend and I are vegetarians and the staff took note of that to recommend dishes that would fit our dietary restriction. The fresh rolls were so amazing that my boyfriend and I came again the next day to have some as a quick bite. I am assuming either it's the owner or manager recognized us from the night before and welcomed us in. When I'm back in Aspen, I'll definitely be back!

Katherine W.

Yelp
Great overall. Flavorful, dish3s. Large ortions. Friendly, attentive, very professional service and nice ambiance. old priprice point for Aspen

Sam B.

Yelp
The food wasn't great - none of the kids could eat the kids fried rice and the adults had stomach aches after eating. They charge you a mandatory 20% fee for takeout... I have never seen this before it needs to be explicitly stated if they are going to add that to your bill when you come pick up the food. I would not recommend.
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Omg the thai coffee martini is insane. Daniel our bartender is amazing and the drink is even more amazing!!!!! 10000/10

M R.

Yelp
What a great experience!! Excellent staff, service, and food. For those reading the reviews and seeing comments about prices, please remember you are dining in Aspen. Considering the quality of service and food coupled with the location, the prices are actually on point. We will be back for sure...

L Z.

Yelp
With all the amazing dining options in Aspen, Sway still stands out as one of my favorites. This was hands down the best Thai food I've ever had; ridiculously delicious!!. Every dish was bursting with bold, authentic flavors while also feeling fresh and innovative. My favorites were the eggplant, crispy vermicelli noodles, and pad thai. Can't wait to try the curries next! We were there for a ladies night out and the modern atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between intimate dining and a lively, inviting vibe. Perfect way to fuel us up for a night out. Definitely a must-visit for any food lover in town!

Lily O.

Yelp
The BEST Thai food I've ever had! Every dish we had was amazing. My personal favorites were the Thai Basil Eggplant (I don't even like eggplant and I wanted to order a second round of this), the Crispy Pork and Shrimp, and the Pad Thai (the best pad Thai I've ever had, melt in mouth amazing). But honestly, order the whole menu and die happy. I will be visiting this restaurant every time we come to Aspen now - best food, beautiful setting and vibe, and top notch service. It's a must visit!

Loyal C.

Yelp
Sway is the newest restaurant in Aspen & I was super excited to try it, however I was very disappointed with both the food and service! My friend and I ordered 2 dishes - mine arrived 15 minutes before hers and by the time she got her food, I was already done. The food tastes very average and the spices are not authentic or tasty! It's overpriced for average Thai food! It's hard to make bad Thai food but Sway is definitely among the worst restaurants in Aspen! I don't think it will stay open for too long!

david w.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance were all perfect. The short rib curry is worth trying. Brussels sprouts were excellent. Would recommend this place.

Jeff M.

Yelp
Great addition to the Aspen dining scene. Didn't feel jammed in. Food was great. Service was great.

Raadha V.

Yelp
Food , Service & Ambience is all good. Healthy food but little expensive. Small but Scrumptious plates. Very artistic presentation of food. We sat outdoors and they had a warm heated open space.. watching outside beautiful fall color trees and we had our dinner. Warm Saki drink in crisp weather is good .
google avatar

Joel S.

Yelp
We went to Sway for dinner the other night and we were very disappointed. It began with the hostess trying to seat us old folks on high chairs at the front when there was appropriate seating in the rear. Then the Thai beer we all ordered came in cans, not bottles. Not good. The service was okay but we ordered pad Thai and though it was tasty it was lacking in the usual ingredients for the dish. We're locals who eat in restaurants often but we won't be returning to Sway.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
We were there over Presidents Day week when visiting Aspen. Food was fantastic and ambiance was great. I especially liked the various vegetarian and vegan food items. A very welcome change from all the steak and Italian places in Aspen. We were at a table with a larger group but the bar also looked like a great place to grab a cocktail (great cocktail menu) and some tasty food.
google avatar

Kristy V.

Yelp
Ambiance is stellar. Don't skip on the eggplant dish. Delicious. Pad Thai is also a must. Cocktail menu is varied also. Will be back!
google avatar

Kristen Z.

Yelp
We had the best dinner at Sway Aspen! Jon was an incredible server with the best recommendations for drinks, curries, and rice. His menu knowledge was immaculate, we loved his sake recommendations. This Thai restaurant is what Aspen needed and Jon and his service is what makes restaurants like this even better!!

Nelson A.

Yelp
Man, I hate to let the secret out, but this place is fantastic. We had oysters, tiger cry, bok choy, son in law , short rib dumplings and everything was so on point. Don't believe me? Your loss. Just don't tell anyone else about it so it can stay easily accessible to those who know. Jk, check it out!
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
Great addition to the Aspen food scene. Finally some legit Thai food at reasonable prices. Cocktails were great. Will definitely be back!

Edward H.

Yelp
Great new restaurant in aspen! Among the best Thai food I've had in my life. One of the friendliest waiters in Colorado. We left Sway very happy and will definitely return. Bravo.
