Sweeney's on Boylston

I have never written a food review but this was amazing and I had to post. It was the best burger I ever had with the crispiest curled fries and the dessert, OMG the biggest most delicious I have ever had with the perfect crispy outside. The music was great the ambience warm and homey and our waitress, Kiley, was awesome. If you are coming to Boston put this one on your list! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent customer service and a very good pint of Guinness. The bar staff are extremely polite and very attentive. It was a great find! The food choice is good value for money. Highly recommend Sweeney's. Keep up the good work 👍🏽

We reserved a table for dinner on Christmas Eve, which may have contributed to the overall experience. My wife ordered the Blackberry Mule, which both looked and tasted like something we might have drank in college, far too sweet, lacked any garnish, and served in a standard pub glass. It was overwhelmingly sugary and ultimately undrinkable. She didn’t want to risk the headache it would inevitably cause, and it was sent back. We started with the Brussels sprouts and pot roast sliders. The Brussels sprouts included bacon, potatoes, and apples. The apples were an unexpected addition and not our favorite, however the dish was overall enjoyable. The pot roast sliders, however, would have greatly benefited from an au jus or some type of sauce, as they were a bit dry. For our entrée, we split the fish and chips. Combined with the appetizers, it was more than enough food for two and did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the service fell short. Our water glasses remained empty from the time we finished our appetizers through the end of the meal. Given the price and the overall experience, we likely won’t be returning and cannot recommend it.

Possibly the best ham sandwich I've ever had, and certainly the best soup and sandwich combo. Flavors were perfect and size was very generous. Decent selection of beers on tap too.

Stopped in for a quick bite at the bar, had The Lenox absolutely delicious. My bartender John was great he introduced me to Snakebites and I tried one. Definitely would like to go back for date night and check out the upstairs area.

After all the hype food was good, atmosphere was good but SERVICE! Service was NOT good! If you are there with a family (kids) you don’t get the service you should because you aren’t there to drink and keep the drinks coming! The waitress was to busy worried about bussing tables and working tables she thought might tip better (it was obvious) Definitely want be back and that’s sad because overall it was good! Hire better people!

We went to this this restaurant today and we sat upstairs, at the time they had a party of three with drinks, we ordered as soon as the bartender came over, we ordered two appetizers and one sandwich. It was one thirty in the afternoon. Approximately 10 minutes later a party of four arrived as well as two tables of two and one table of 5. The party of three that had drinks ordered their meal after us. After 30 minutes I asked if our food was coming, the bartender said yes, another 10 minutes pass and everyone who was seated after us had already received their food, I asked again and finally after 50 minutes our food came out and was cold. I mentioned to the bartender and the front of the house person that this was unacceptable. There was no apology, no acknowledgment, they dropped food off and took off, they were oblivious. This must be the standard at this restaurant because no one cared. I paid my bill and left. I would never go back there again. Good luck if you choose this restaurant, you will be ignored and have cold food.

EXCELLENT SPOT!! We were just wondering the street after shopping at the Prudential Tower. They just opened the upstairs so we got it all to our selves! Which we loved (great service!) the FOOD!! OMG the Clam chowder is a must try!! The Beef sliders were delicious as well as the Corned beef and Cabbage Sandwich. Beer selection is good as well, I loved the cider on tap. Music was great not too loud and had TVs all over.

Would love to put 5 stars but with this new menu change I cannot. This is a late night industry watering hole. To take the Quesadilla, chicken fingers and the fries off is just sad, it's been replaced with a $30 burger and pizza. This new menu is deeply disappointing. Will be back, simply because your bar staff is amazing. However, consider giving the people what they want, which is late night comfort food.

Welcome to the neighborhood Sweeney's!! I used to frequent Sola's whenever I was in the Back Bay so I was sad to hear they were changing ownership. However I stopped in after work last week to check out Sweeney's and it is just as welcoming as before, glad to see some of my favorite faces were still serving me pints behind the bar! You can't beat the staff there and I was pleasantly surprised with the new menu offerings. I love the Irish influence in the cuisine. It is a must see if you ever find yourself looking for some comfort food and a cold Guinness!

Do not go here. Service was so poor and staff was not helpful. Please do not go here and I will be telling more people to not go here.
