Google
Dont pay attention to snotty negative reviews on this place. They are THE BEST ice cream ive ever had. Very homemade, creamy, quality ice cream. I got the orange creamsicle, and strawberry. So naturally flavored! And my husband got the mango sherbet. He was also equally happy. Highly recommend!

Google
Favorite ice cream place by a long shot. My past visit I had a Fig Sorbet and was so happy. Everything has been so good. Always at least 4-5 vegan options!

Google
This is the best ice cream I've ever had! We went on a weekday with no line. They had about 12 different unqiue flavors to choose from. Many of their ingredients are locally sources and the ice cream is hand crafted. I got the Milk & Cookies and it was very creamy with high quality flavors. This isn't just your average Ice Cream parlor.

Google
Sweet Action makes fantastic ice cream. They have creative, bold flavors like watermelon mint and ube that are truly delicious. I also really appreciate their wide range of vegan options and unique ingredient combos. But honestly, I’m really disappointed in a recent design change. They’ve covered the glass with wallpaper, and the ice cream is now stored in stainless steel tubs that you can’t see into. As a customer, not being able to see the ice cream takes away so much of the experience. It feels disconnected and sterile, which is the opposite of what an ice cream shop should be. The flavors are amazing, but the visual element matters too and this change makes it one of the least enjoyable ordering experiences I’ve had at an ice cream shop.

Google
This place had a line to the door when I arrived. But the wait was worth it. I could not decide between Mighty Mint and Chocolate Mint, so I asked for a bit of both in a single scoop cup, which was perfect. I tried to decide which was better between the two and I couldn’t decide! Both were so good! Staff were very friendly, and I like their no tipping policy. I found parking on Broadway right in front of the place. Excellent ice cream experience!

Google
I went during a cold night. I got the Vegan Cinnamon Girl…DELICIOUS! Also their waffle cones are super yummy. There was a line but it was well worth it.

Google
Some of the best ice cream I've ever had in my life! Definitely check it out. Favorite flavor: Salted Butterscotch 😋

Google
Came here with some friends last night. Pretty solid ice cream. Would give five stars if the guy helping us out wasn’t so aggressive with his service. Ain’t no way you’re making customers feel bad over some ice cream, dude.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this chic little ice cream joint. It's located right on Broadway in a very eclectic part of town. It's a very queer area and the LGBTG patrons are my tribe. I feel comfortable among my kind, that's for sure. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The place is clean, well organized and I really enjoy the huge open window space looking out on Broadway. It's a great way to people watch, enjoy the evening and eat ice cream. I ordered a scoop of pina colada sorbet in a waffle cone and it was pure heaven. Creamy, smooth, cold and yummy. I love this area of Broadway and now I have yet another reason to spend time among my people.

Yelp
After a mid-day walk on the hottest day in over 2 weeks, I needed a place to sit and cool off. Since there are few shaded benches on Broadway, I came to Sweet Action. I noticed 2 new alcoholic ice creams &1 alcholic sorbet plus new ice creams. I chose the Coffee Road with coffee ice cream and pecans. The server mentioned that it had pecans in it. She said some customers recently complained about the nuts but didn't read the menu board. It clearly indicates nuts. Maybe scanning phone screens too much, people are losing comprehension skills. The Ice cream was smooth and a little sweet with crunchy pecans. Plenty of indoor seating with their unique garage door counter. You can buy pints and I saw new dairy-free frozen desserts in a cookie. Also new pup cups. They do not accept tips and only take credit/debit cards.

Yelp
If you're in broadway and looking for something sweet, come to Sweet Action. They have a nice selection of flavors to choose from and they have a nice variety of GF and Vegan choices. They have samples to try. It's a nice little spot with plenty of seating. A nice place if you're looking for dessert after dinner. I got the banana toffee and that was actually really delicious. However, when I sampled it, I didn't taste any chocolate chips but it did come with chocolate so not my cup of tea. Otherwise, it tasted like banana bread as ice cream. The flavors do change so there's always something new to try.

Yelp
Stopped by Sweet Action for a treat on Mother's Day after lunch nearby. It was nice and quiet and calm inside when we arrived. We were greeted right away and were able to try some different flavors. They have a lot of gluten free and vegan options to choose from. I tried the French chocolate and hubby tried the salted butterscotch. Our son had a vanilla bean cone with sprinkles. Everything tasted great and the employee working all by themselves was super friendly and helpful!

Yelp
Yes, Sweet Action is a bit pricey for ice cream but is heavenly and 100% worth it IMHO. I got one of their seasonal flavors of orange cardamom (and I believe something else I'm forgetting what it was) and it was amazing. None of their flavors were too overpowering and they meshed really well. In short, this ice cream is awesome.

Yelp
I love Sweet Action! They have the absolute best flavors and EVERYONE can find a flavor that they like. They also have ice cream sammies and stooper dupers! A strooper duper is an ice cream sammie made with their housemade version of a stroopwaffel, housemade caramel, and sweet cream ice cream! It is absolutely delicious!! My favorite ice creams right now are Thai Tea and Vietnamese Coffee.

Yelp
This place is so cute and the ice cream is yummy! I like how they stay open pretty late. The service was awesome, she allowed us to try as many flavors as we wanted until we chose what we liked. She also shared which were the best sellers, with an overall great attitude she seemed very happy to help which always makes experiences that much better. Salted butterscotch is a 10/10! Me and my friends loved our ice cream.

Yelp
Super cute spot with great service. All the flavors sound so cool !! I don't feel like I choose any basic flavors. Everything was amazing.

Yelp
This has been a long time favorite ice cream shop of mine for the past 12 years! Always willing to go outta my way to enjoy this spot!
google avatar

Alisa J.

Yelp
Great ice cream! The consistency was super thick and creamy. We tried root beer, whiskey, salty butterscotch, and pistachio lemon shortbread. My favorite was definitely the pistachio because the chunks of shortbread were so good. I also loved the butterscotch. The root beer flavor was super intense and I thought the whiskey one was pretty good but not my favorite. Because there is alcohol in that one the consistency is a bit different. Service was super nice and the store was actually super clean.

Yelp
Listen, this is the best Ice Cream in Denver and it's not even close. Their flavors are always innovative and they rotate them out seasonally.

Yelp
My daughter had a craving for a nice milk shake. After having a dinner at an exquisite French restaurant only 5 minutes away, we came here for a little scoop of ice cream and an exquisite milk shake. And Sweet Action actioned to take care of us!! This place doesn't have a massive selection of ice cream to choose from. But they have interesting/intriguing flavors no other ice cream places have such as Stranahan's Whiskey Brickle, Strawberry Chamomile, Lavender Caramel to name a few. What's great is that each flavor is marked with V for vegan, GF for gluten free; I appreciate this conscientiousness to serve people with dietary restrictions. This place is so generous about giving out samples/tasters. My daughter asked a sample of three different flavors; the young lady behind the counter said, "No problem!!" They truly want you go have the flavor that suits your palate. My daughter picked Lavender Caramel and something else for her milk shake; I chose Colorado's proudest, Stranahan's Whiskey in a kiddy cup. They surely took care of our sweet tooth after our dinner; this ended up being an exquisite action to end our night!!

Yelp
After dinner, I wanted some ice cream for dessert so stumbled upon Sweet Action. Tried some samples of a couple of different flavors and decided on the Whiskey Brickle. Good, but why is it so pricey?!?
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! I had to buy a tub to take home. Love the inventive flavors. I didn't loooove a few that I tried but that's what's fun about creative flavors-- especially at places that are constantly introducing new ones. The carmelized pear was so good! The person working was also so nice and patient as I decided what to order haha.

Yelp
After being back in denver for a couple years I finally made my way to Sweet Action on Broadway! And it just have been in the stars because right after we got there the line grew by 10 people. Must be why they limit tasters to two flavors, totally makes sense now. I tried Gansito and Cold Brew and they were out of this world. The flavors were outstanding yet not too sweet and it was oh so creamy. Love the garage door opening where you can sit at the counter and get some quality people watching. Add this one to your list!

Yelp
My favorite ice cream spot in Denver. So many inventive flavors and old favorites. My go to's are always the STRANAHAN'S WHISKEY BRICKLE and Salted Butterscotch. Today I tried the Orange Honeycomb and it' was very delicious. A new favorite. Worth driving out of the way for a sweet treat.

Debra T.

Yelp
Went in for a milkshake. They had neither milk nor chocolate ice cream. They offered me a soy shake which I turned down.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Great spot, service is slow and casual, price point is high but tip is included. Love the Thai iced tea ice cream.
google avatar

Yelp
When I think of iconic ice cream in Denver, I think of Sweet Action. That "little guys" ice cream has nothing compared to Sweet Action. 9 out of 10 times I end up with the Stranahans Whiskey Brickel. Dreams are made of this ice cream. To boot, the staff is incredibly welcoming and diverse. The space is open to all. Tips aren't accepted because they pay their people a living wage. No little guy could touch this place!

Yelp
This last weekend, my partner and I had a friend in town who requested we do an ice cream crawl. Let me just tell you, it was a blast. My partner had never been to Sweet Action, so when we found ourselves on the south end of town, I insisted we start our weekend-long ice cream crawl there since it's a shop with some quirkier flavors. When we arrived we spent the longest time pondering the menu. Our friend determined she could get six flavors in one bowl by getting three scoops and utilizing the split option for a dollar more. She has a nut allergy, which the person serving us on Friday night was amazing about considering when choosing flavors. She was able to choose from a broad variety too, which was also ideal for this adventure! I also chose Sweet Action because they have dairy-free options. I am dairy-free, for the most part, so it was great to have various options despite my limitations. I tried the Smoked Chocolate Cherry Torte. The first smoke-filled bite hit hard, like eating barbeque, but once it tapered I really enjoyed the flavor variety. It was a really fun flavor to try. Sweet Action is a fun stop for anyone who likes quirkier flavors of ice cream. I think if you're a classic ice cream purist, it might not appeal as much. However, it is fun to have such wild flavors to start conversations with your friends.

Yelp
This place is by no means not tasty. However, what they charge for ice cream is insanity to me, so I can't recommend it. The ice cream always taste too thin to me, so I'm guessing they add too much sugar or something. I really want to like this place because it's convenient, but boy it's always a disappointment Also the lines can be really slow :(
google avatar

Min-Ru G.

Yelp
Awesome. I have dairy problems but their ice cream is sooo delicious. They have non dairy options which is great for me (strawberry chamomile). They also do collabs with local businesses (Stranahan's whiskey brickle). I would come back often and recommend others to get their ice cream.
google avatar

Chae C.

Yelp
Not sure if the same lady still works there but last time I was there, she had a disgusting attitude with every single customer. I asked for 2 samples and she told me to pick one and refused to give any of my friends more than 1 sample. What kind of rule is this? I've been to sweet action so many times and this has never happened. Then absolutely hilarious we were charged a service fee after. I'm all for tipping your service workers but not like this.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the branch and barrel coffee honey swirl and the salted butterscotch. The staff told us the salted butterscotch was one of their top sellers, and I could clearly taste why. I got both ice cream in the cone, and they were both rich in flavor. I didn't like the waffle cone itself. The staff were really friendly during our experience.
google avatar

Kyla P.

Yelp
Smooth and almost sticky like consistency ice cream when you dig your spoon in and lift. Customer service was awesome too. I think we went at a bad time because the flavors were very safe and nothing too exotic enough for my preference. The most exotic flavor available that night was a strawberry balsamic goat cheese ice cream flavor but I had a pizza similar to that at dinner before this place.
google avatar

Rachael M.

Yelp
Great service tonight at the Broadway location and we had some really delicious flavors! Check out the maple biscoff and the salted golden Oreo, both amazing!
google avatar

Danielle F.

Yelp
Super cute environment here & the prices are fairly decent considering the sizes & great taste! Customer service was awesome as well & they have really cute seating areas outside on the patio. Inside smells amazing!

H C.

Yelp
The innovation of the flavors at Sweet Action is very impressive as well as variety of non dairy/vegan flavors. I got a scoop of their vegan chocolate walnut brownie with the vegan chocolate sauce and almonds on top. The ice cream was impressive with the blondies but definitely needed the sauce and almonds on top as the base wasn't extremely rich in flavor. A cute inside with plenty of places to sit.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Locally made ice cream with a great selection of flavors makes Sweet Action a cool place to stop! There is also some clever merch to purchase if you're so inclined.

Daija C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to get hot chocolate. When will you guys start serving hot chocolate for the 2024 season?
google avatar

Josephine F.

Yelp
I've been in here a number of times for a reason. There hours are very convenient for my odd work schedule and late night craving for good ice cream! There's a speakeasy downstairs that I've been in once, but I always come back just for the ice cream. They have original flavors that I believe they make in house. The service is always great too!
google avatar

Karen N.

Yelp
Had the strawberry chamomile, and it was sooo good! Might be my new favorite flavor. I heard so many good things about this shop that I had to try it myself! Thankfully there wasn't a long line, so it was a quick stop. The shop is in such a cute little area too. I definitely recommend sitting outside!
google avatar

Jess Y.

Yelp
Such good ice cream! They're also the friendliest and very family friendly. There's endless options to choose from in terms of flavors and toppings, and the portions are pretty big. There were 3 of us and we all shared one bowl and it was more than enough! Service is great, you don't wait too long and it's nice enjoying it indoors away from the Denver sun

Yelp
I'm not sure what the woman working behind the counter had against my girlfriend and me, but it was just an off vibe from the beginning. My gf wanted a kids cup (no she's not a kid) and the woman said she couldn't because it's kids only. Fine, then my gf asked for a single cup but just "not that much." I'm not sure if there was a misunderstanding, but the woman was just not having it. I really can't describe how rude she was, it was just a bizarre reaction. She said my gf was making a big deal out of it, and I assure you she could not have been nicer. All she wanted was less than a single scoop, we would have paid full price for it if we were told to. Just so rude and nasty for no reason. My gf was so nice and didn't want to cause problems, and this woman's rudeness really affected her. Needless to say we'll never be going back.
google avatar

Joon K.

Yelp
Ice cream was tasty but don't like their practice to add 18% staff fee without disclosure.
google avatar

Shruti J.

Yelp
Update: try the Mango Chimango - it's an obvious mango ice cream with pickled (I think) mango slices in tajin like spice! This ice cream took me back to Tulum! Highly recommend this flavour!

Cecilia S.

Yelp
Don't even think about going to the speakeasy in the back if you still have a vertical ID!!! A friend and I were visiting from out of state and were recommended this place! We went to the back freezer and had our IDs ready. The waitstaff who answered immediately denied my friend with her out of state vertical ID because it was vertical. If that is their policy, I believe there was a nicer way to go about it. She immediately denied us and slammed the door. Didn't even look at mine. Rude.
google avatar

Anders Christofer C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite night time ice cream places. Their strawberrry is one of the best I have had and the staff is super nice. Always parking available
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
I really didn't need dessert on the night we came to Sweet Action Ice Cream. I was more than full. For some reason, I couldn't pass up a highly rated ice cream shop that happened to be on our way home. We did the usual sampling to aid my indecisive self. Whiskey brickle stood out, obviously. As well as a decent selection of vegan options. Salted butterscotch was another attention getter because that salty + sweet combo always hits the spot. Some other cool flavors like lemon ricotta were out, as well. I didn't regret my choice to indulge here at all. Double scoop was devoured in no time!
google avatar

Angelica B.

Yelp
Milk & Cookies Deliciousness! So hard to pick from! The Stranahan's was also amazing! But beware.... It has whiskey
google avatar

Morgan S.

Yelp
The service was great but the flavor wasn't there... I did not take photos cause I was out with family. I visited Sweet Action right after having dinner at a restaurant near by. It smelled amazing in there! So sweet and heavenly! I was excited they had a lot of fun flavors and options! I got a classic Vanilla Bean Milkshake! The size was huge and perfect!! Everyone knows what vanilla bean is suppose to taste like so I was really excited. When I took my first sip, I was a little dissatisfied. It barely tasted like vanilla. I honestly thought it was a little on the bland side. I was kind of upset I paid close to $9 for a bland milkshake. My friends got other flavors and they all seemed to like theirs. Over all I just wish the flavor was there cause the size was right, but the flavor wasn't there for the price.
google avatar

Karri S.

Yelp
I got the Stranahan's Whiskey Brickle based on a recommendation. The first bit had the essence of whiskey but after it just tasted like sweet cream. Maybe it was the sprinkles that changed the flavor? Black pepper wasn't anything too special. My partner got a large sundae and it was put in a cup so all the components were layered and had to be eaten from top to bottom. One of the layers was the Andes mint ice cream and it was so minty it overpowered the rest of the flavors. We were generally under impressed.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
What a gem of an ice cream shop! They have a unique variety of delicious flavors, from fruitier ones to candy-based. Service was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Cool music playing and lots of seating space! I had a cup of the M&M ice cream and it was great.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Nothing curbs a craving for ice cream like seeing the sick staff blow their nose flip the tissue around (ensuring that snot touched their bare fingers) and blow their nose more and then not wash their hands! This guy then went back to work switching out things of ice cream. Touching everything! I saw him switch between working the kitchen to working on papers and he never washed his hands. All he did was wipe them on his pants. Both staff members seemed indifferent in their work.
google avatar

Mariah D.

Yelp
I love this place! Went last night and there were a lot interesting flavors. I was boring and got mint chocolate chip, but with marshmallow topping and she roasted it for me! I also took one of the cookie sandwiches home with me and it was so good! Saw on the packaging after i ate it that it was dairy-free and vegan (i am neither) and had no idea. Very impressed
google avatar

Judy P.

Yelp
So sorry I didn't take a photo of my delicious butter pecan cup of ice cream. It was worthy of a whole album of photos. Seriously I was shocked by how much I loved it. My husband had the salted butterscotch and the two really worked together. I put a few dabs of his with mine and it would work well as a swirl in the butter pecan. It is what seems very costly but we both had to say it was worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Environmentalists and hippies will admire and praise this place, as they follow a sustainable business model. They also use compostable and recyclable packaging. They resource fresh ingredients from local sources, including the most important of them all, fresh Colorado dairy. I also think about where the ingredients come from, but for other reasons: taste, health and support of local businesses. During a hot summer day, ice cream naturally came to mind. We have our go-to place for frozen custard, but this was convenient for us. Packed with patrons trying to cool off, seating was limited with only a few tables available. My favorite part is the open bar arrangement, indulge in ice cream and people watch strolling the sidewalk. The staff was very pleasant and let me taste a few flavors. I like how they have some unique ones, and apparently routinely change. I ordered the Stranahan's, in a form of a shake. It was delicious, but in all honesty, once you have frozen custard, it's almost impossible to dethrone. I would have named this place "Sweet Ass Ice Cream" for its delicious and sweet treats, but I'm sure some mother would frown at this. Great ice cream with appreciation for the local community.

Yelp
While in Denver for vacation, my partner suddenly craved for ice cream after a Rocky Mountain hike. He bookmarked "Sweet Action" on his phone and insisted on checking it out. I then looked up the Yelp reviews and noticed there were close to 1000 of them! I guess I'm just here to render my two cents. Of course, my expectation was high, but I think "Sweet Action" delivered it. This location of "Sweet Action" isn't really close to downtown Denver, but it's a short 10-min Uber ride or 25-min bike ride to the establishment. Due to COVID-19, they didn't have a full selection of ice cream flavors listed on the menu board. The young lady behind the counter told us to come near to the front to see what they had to offer that day. I ordered the green apple peanut butter root beer float and it was quite delicious. They used the locally-made root beer. As you all know, it's always a good idea to support local businesses. It's even more delightful to see that many local businesses use locally-made products. My partner had a couple scoops of ice cream in his cup, but it appeared to be more than 2 scoops to me! The portion was very generous and there was nothing to complain about. We weren't allowed to eat inside. Thankfully it was a gorgeous day out and we were able to find some random fountain bricks, sat down, and devoured these bad boys. We jumped on the Uber bikes and headed back to downtown Denver after the treats. The calories were burned, yet the memory of yummy taste still ingrained in my head...

Yelp
Colorado has one of the warmest summers. Denver in particular has no shortage of ice cream shops at all. In the Broadway area Sweet Action is an oasis where you will find happy people winning the battle with this heat! Sweet Action is made in CO. Sourced and handmade with all the other good stuff that goes with it. Like compostable and recyclable packaging. But they start with the most basic fresh CO dairy! Mooooo! Or COOOOOO..!:) We did the scoop and milkshake route. I had two scoops of their Ginger flavored ice cream. They didn't disappoint. This was spicy but just enough. It comes and goes. Creamy. Otherwise it's useless to me if it's not. Company's milkshake was raved about all the way to the trash receptacle which didn't take that long. It was the Stranahan's Whiskey Brickle. Yeah it's CO whiskey with pieces of butter brickle toffee! ***Two Signature Flavors*** The most famous-Butterscotch. Second most famous-Stranahan's Whiskey Brickle. A few chairs inside otherwise you can stand outside and enjoy!
