Find hearty, casual fare like burgers, patty melts, and fried chicken sandwiches available alongside a well-curated list of cocktails, beer, and wine." - Erika Adams, Tanay Warerkar, Bao Ong
"Sweet Afton in Astoria is much nicer than your average drinking spot, and there’s a full dinner menu for when you and your date both need to dig into why you're both tired of living in NYC, yet you can't think of anywhere else you'd rather live. The space has exposed brick walls and leather banquettes, and at night there are little candles on the tables. They make a good burger, as well some other things like a couple of salads and a falafel sandwich." - team infatuation
"While a lot of bars this year seem to be going in a disco or neon direction, Sweet Afton wants to take you back to the Roaring ’20s. The Gatsby-esque party at this Astoria bar will go from 9pm to 12am, with an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and party favors. Tickets are $100." - bryan kim, will hartman
"After you eat brunch at Sugar Freak, you’ll probably need to sit for a bit, and then you’ll be ready to stand and make the two-block trek to Sweet Afton. At which point you’ll order another drink and probably need to sit again. Luckily, Sweet Afton’s patio is the kind of place where you’ll want to day drink (charming lights, open air, etc) and also has enough seats to rest your 60% alcohol and 40% maple syrup body." - hannah albertine
