A Distillery for Metallica’s New Whiskey, Blackened, Will Open in the Bay Area | Eater SF

"Billed as the collaboration between Metallica and master distiller Dave Pickerell, Sweet Amber Distilling Co. produced Blackened — a blend of bourbons, ryes, and whiskeys selected by Pickerell — and is helmed by CEO John Bilello. The company deliberately avoided overt Metallica branding on the bottle, but worked with Pickerell and Berkeley-based Meyer Sound to age whiskey in barrels that were blasted with Metallica music as a kind of "musical stamp." My wife told me she was taking the kids to a new candy store. Appalled at her thinking I don't want to go, decided to hop into the car. I've been to quite a few candy stores in Pennsylvania, Florida, Nashville, Canada and Vegas. This was the coolest one I been in yet. I love the soda bar and the atmosphere. I also like they don't carry the usual candy you see in most candy stores. This place has a wide variety of candy I haven't seen or seen since my childhood. I mean they had Barnone candy bars. Love it! A huge selection of soda pop and energy drinks. The girls got fresh made energy drinks at the soda bar. Super delicious!! If you live anywhere near Sioux Falls, you must stop by this place. Owners are awesome!! Definitely will be back after I finish my freeze dried ice cream sandwich!!

I could talk all day about how much I enjoy this place, not only is the selection of candy great but their lotus energy drinks are amazing! The only thing that makes this place even better are the people who work there. The owner is very sweet and kind, and Maryland is the best. When going to pick up a lotus drink, I am always certain that I will be greeted by Marilyn with a great big smile and a warm welcome into the store. She addresses me by my name, which she remembered after the first time in the store, and she always knows when she sees me that I am there to get a drink on my lunch break. She is such a highlight in my day. I can not recommend this place enough!

Stopped in for the first time today. There is a great selection and everything is reasonably priced. The owner is the sweetest and gave us some extra goodies. Our kiddos were very happy and can't wait to go back!! Highly recommend checking it out!!
