I discovered Sweet and Salty through the Too Good To Go app, and I was so pleasantly surprised that I felt compelled to write this review, which is something I haven’t done in over a year. That’s how much they deserve the praise.
I love a thicker cookie that’s soft in the middle, and Sweet and Salty absolutely nails it. Every cookie I’ve tried so far has been fantastic. Since the Too Good To Go bags are random, I haven’t sampled the whole lineup, but I’ve been impressed every time. My personal favorites are the peanut butter and sugar cookies. Simple classics done perfectly, but they also offer unique, creative flavors if that’s more your style.
The shop itself is small and unassuming, which makes it quick and easy to pop in and out. But don’t let its size fool you, this place is a standout in a city that’s overflowing with cookie options, many of which don’t measure up. My only problem with this place is that I am trying to take it easy on desserts, and now Sweet and Salty is going to make that very difficult for me.
I truly hope Sweet and Salty sticks around for years to come, because they’ve earned their spot as one of Portland’s cookie gems. If you’re a cookie lover, I can’t recommend them enough.
