We've been ordering Lucilas Cakes all my life, and they never disappoint. Most recently we ordered a cake for my baby shower, and the final result exceeded my expectation. Not only was the cake delicious and absolutely stunning, but the team at Sweet Art Cakes worked with us to bring our vision to life within a reasonable price based on our budget.

Delicious cake, great Staff; their suggestions made the difference. I had ordered two cakes from them, both to travel on a plane. This time was an international destination and both made it in perfect condition to the final destination. Ordered delicious velvet cake. Thanks guys! ❤️

I cannot say enough good things about this Miami staple. The quality and care of service from the staff as well as their friendliness goes a long way. They are attentive, detailed and ensure you will receive the cake you envisioned. My family has been buying their famous rum cake for years, and knew that's what my husband and I wanted for our November 2023 wedding. Eva, the baker, crafted a cake that was beyond my expectations and guests kept asking for seconds, and thirds.

I would like to say that the cake was delicious, with just the right amount of frosting, just the way I like it : the cake had rum and filled with dulce de leche inside. Thank you very much , Maria Laura . I told you that I like to leave comments when I receive good service .

The best bakery in town for all your customs cakes and more. I am very, very pleased with the service, the professionalism and care of the bakery’s personnel. My daughters birthday cake was more than I imagined. It was so much better than the picture I submitted. It was our main attraction at her party. The guests were surprised at how delicious was. Charged me $35 for a wedding cake tasting, all other vendors we sampled (three different locations) didn't charge me a cent. This was supposedly on the list of vendors approved for Doubletree Hilton in Biscayne. Try sweet art cakes up the street, they wont charge you $35 for a wedding cake tasting like this place will. Do they expect to gain a customer like this? Nope! Pass Update ( I'm a little confused at the owners comment) She states in the comment that I commented on the wrong business, but yet the header or my complaint says "Lucila Cakes Bird Road". Sweet Art Cakes actually did us right and gave us the tasting with all we asked for and did not charge us. So let me clarify - SWEET ART CAKES was the business that I would recommend. Lucila Cakes had us scheduled for a tasting , then told us over the phone our cakes for tasting were given to someone else! They told us to come in and they slapped together some little cakes hastily. Then charged us $35 (the only place that did) Sweet Art Cakes did not charge us and gave us a free tasting as most places do. And to further clarify , I am complaining about Lucila Cakes off the highway next to the rental car . I have read since the business change ownership is gone downhill and through my eyes that's believable. If the owner of Lucila wants me to remove my review, I suggest she credit the $35 that was charged to my credit card for a crappy cake tasting that Saturday.

Thief's ! Never delivered cake for a my friend with cancer that passed end left everything paid for her 4 year olds bday ! And it was confirmed! Still waiting on reimbursement!

Ok, so this is very confusing. We have been fans of Lucila cakes from their days at the Bird Road just west of 57th location. When they moved to the building with the self storage above, on the south side of Bird road, the quality seemed to remain the same. Then we saw that the Lucila name was on the new shop on the north side of Bird just east of the Palmetto. I went in with my kids, the owner was there, told us they were the original Lucila and seemed very eager to keep his old customers. He was very nice that day. Friday, my son called to order a cake for my other son's birthday. The person on the phone was very dismissive and said they didn't take orders for small cakes. When they went in person to buy the cake, they were "served" by someone who had no interest in helping them. She said she couldn't write "Happy Birthday" on the cake and she said "don't refrigerate the cake" Well, by Saturday, the cake began slumping and leaking syrup and the taste was not up to the standards that we were used to. We will not be going back to this shop and will try "Sweet Art" at the self storage place again. So I'm giving "Sweet Art" 5 stars and the one at 7455 Bird Road 2 Stars!

Please do not order from this company, go to Edda's instead. Not only did their website not have the right information regarding which location was open, they also didn't inform me that it was delivery only so I showed up at both locations without them telling me anything. I never got the cake and I was promised a refund for weeks. So they kept the money I paid them and did not provide me with a cake. If you want your money stolen then go ahead and book here but stay far away as possible if you can!

FRAUD ALERT: DO NOT purchase anything from this place. We visited in person and ordered our wedding cake from here for $1,150. They never delivered the cake and left us with nothing for our wedding! When confronted on the phone about it during our wedding they promised to refund us but it has been months and we still have not received our refund. Alejandro Perez keeps stringing us along saying we will see the refund soon but has never actually sent us our money back. DO NOT trust this place or purchase from them.

Purchased a cake and the cake was dry, no flavor at all. The design was cracked all around the cake. To top it off they misspelled the name. I received a few IG messages from someone that promised me that a manager was going to call me, and replace the cake or give me back my $200.00. Is been a month and no one has called me. Stay away from this place, the service is horrible and unprofessional

I have been meaning to come back and complete a review for Esther, I want to say that reflecting on my experience. She is beyond excellent! I was being an unruly and sensitive customer about a cake for my father and the way she handled it without me requesting that of her was impressive. I highly recommend working with Esther her goal is to make your special occasion, just that.

Wow, this place has such a beautiful cake. We order one for my friend's birthday from here and I loved how they were moist and with a tiny bit of Rum. The flavor was really good and even though they are not cheap, it's totally worth it. Thank you!

I ordered a cake for 30 people from Lucila's for my office birthday event yesterday. At first I was a bit nervous because when I called they asked me to text them what I wanted and to send them pictures. We did not go with what we originally had planned and instead opted for a simple birthday cake. Again since most of the communication was done by text, I was a bit nervous that it would be made and on time. I called the day of to confirm and to my relieve everything was good to go. We picked up the cake in a little shop. The shop itself is very simple and doesn't have too much decor. When they opened the cake we could smell how delicious it was going to be! It looked huge and I was wondering if there would be a lot leftover. For 30 people it was $56, which trust me it was worth it. In an office of about 24 people, we usually have about half of the cake left over on birthdays. When people heard it was Lucila's rum cake, everyone wanted a piece! Diets and everything pushed to the side. Once we all tried the cake it did not disappoint. WOW! It was delicious, every bite. The cake itself was perfect, moist, and the right amount of sweetness. To say the least, none of the cake was left at the end. We are so glad we chose to order from Lucila's and will be looking forward to ordering more in the future. P.S. There are different locations, so make sure you are calling and looking at the right one. The address here is correct for this particular location.

Been going to Lucilas for many years and their cakes never disappoint. However, recently, the company was taken over by different owners and their classic recipe has been a bit different. Definitely liked it better before. The people that seem like the owners are a bit rude and make their own pricing as they go or make changes to orders and try to up charge without notifying me of changes. Besides that, their new location is very cute! I love their catchy pink theme. Still hesitant to return.

They are very overpriced. The products they display are beautiful. The product they deliver is so far inferior its unimaginable. I wouldn't recommend this bakery. If you do business with them, be careful. I'll never again.

Esther did my daughters Tiffany and Co cake and not only was it beautiful it was amazing. Guest were texting me if I had any cake leftover because it was that good! Esther thank you the cake was exactly what we wanted! You did amazing. I will be back soon for another cake!

This is possibly one of the worst bakeries in Miami. The picture speaks for itself. You order one thing and they're delivering you some inferior product

I heard many great reviews about the cakes here so I decided to order my mother's birthday cake and give it a try. I stopped in maybe five days prior to the pick up date and ordered a one level, rum flavored, naked cake. It was a very simple, medium sized cake that served around 15 guests. The only prop I had on the cake was a "Happy birthday" prop, however, I was told that it can be personalized. I want to say that the only inconvenience I had was that I was promised it would say "Happy Birthday Mom". Unfortunately when I went to pick up the cake, I was given the prop I was originally demonstrated which read "Happy birthday". Not to mention that the prop alone cost me $15 extra on top of the charge of the cake itself. I was a bit disappointed to say the least. The excuse I was given was that the suppliers were out of town. Was the cake good? It was great. Was I provided the best service and given what I was promised? No. Service goes a long way.

Excellent service as always! I have been buying cakes from this place for the last 25 years and not once have I not received the best service and quality. I was incredibly impressed this time because I always go inside to design my cakes but now that I have a busier schedule, I had to call in and explain what I wanted. The staff member gave me her personal number so I could send her pictures of what I wanted and stay in touch for any possible changes. The cake turned out perfect as you can see in the picture below and the flavor is never compromised. Highly recommend this place! Best cake in the world.

AMAZING job by the team here! Ester (one of the owner) greeted me when I came in. She was absolutely wonderful. I had been sick and only had an idea of what I wanted. I showed her a couple pictures while we both used our phones to figure out exactly what we should put on my promotion cake. She let me sample the cake she had in the store and boxed up samples for me to take to my husband. She let me know that my hubby and I were welcome to drop by anytime that weekend to do a full cake tasting of all their flavors. Although, her team had never done a military promotion cake...they NAILED IT! Everyone was asking who did my cake. I wish I would have taken her buisness cakes! THANKS for helping make the day super special for us! I've posted picture below. I got married and promoted around the same time. As such, we put Bott names on the cake and officially changed my name after the promotion. It was a fabulous day!!!

My family and I have been turning to Sweet Art by Lucila for decades. Their cakes are always moist and delicious. No matter what design I've wanted on the cake they have always gone above and beyond to get it perfect. From birthdays to bridal shower to baby shower and just recently my daughter's first birthday which was Frozen theme.... they've nailed all of the cakes!

NO STAR IF IT WAS ALLOWED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My family has been ordering from here for over 15 years. I STRONGLY believe as they have become bigger and have obtained more clients their customer service has goes down COMPLETELY! We recently ordered a cake which was suppose to be ready for pick up Saturday at 4pm. We arrived at 4:18pm and the lady in the front stated "oh, that one is not even half done". She reviewed the order form and confirmed it was due for pick up at 4pm, her response was, " is that we are in the habit of thinking the client party is for Sunday since we are close on Sunday". Extremely rude, careless and unprofessional. They would only refund $50 after the cake was not ready, after dealing with the rudeness of these two ladies in the front. I will admit their cake are delicious however, my family and I REFUSE to give another dollar to them. We have had cases in the past where the cake wasn't ready and we needed to wait up to 45 minutes however, we never Found this to be a deal beaker until their customer service got worse and worse! Came in one day confused because there's a couple "lucila" cake stores in the area but came to try the vanilla rum cake and these are not the original owners. I think it's just a coincidence they try to use the same name. Better vanilla rum cake and service at the birdroad official branch with the black and white canopy !

I have to say we loved our wedding cake but we were promised an 'anniversary cake' to have on our 1st anniversary- all we had to do was call and we could pick one up...well I've called 4 times now, have spoken with 2 different people, left messages and no one calls back! Not sure what is going on but it's a shame bc we had a really great experience last year.

I ordered a cake for my friends 40th bday party. I called into the Doral location and was able to go back and forth via email to complete my order. I ended up needing to pick up at the Bird road location. Well, the cake was amazing. It was their rum cake which is one of the best and everyone was happy. I had my wedding cake done by them years ago and I would totally recommend them again. I am only giving them a 4 stars this time really only because the bird road location is terrible!! It's poorly marked so I just drove in circles looking for it. It also justlooks crappy from the outside. If you have never ordered from them before, don't let this one location turn you off, their cakes are really great!

So I had to leave a review, I wanted a Thomas the train cake for my sons 7th birthday, I usually go to divine delicacies custom cakes for my cake purchases however the customer service was horrendous for me this time around keep in mind I have been using them for 5 yrs now, anyhoo I researched and came across this company, and I must say it was a breath of fresh air they made me feel completely comfortable and made sure they understood what I wanted I sent them two pictures and she just got it, it was easy to make my deposit and the prices were almost $250 cheaper than Devine, when I went to pick up my cake everything was ready and exactly how I imagined it to be, not to mention my son was completely blown away this is my new spot to get my custom cake. I got the vanilla rum cake and it tasted amazing. Ps. This is a franchise I can't speak for the Doral location but this location on bird rd was literally everything.

I would leave 1 star if it were possible. Rude rude rude. Came in looking for a pineapple upside down cake. They had 2 but would not sell them because they "are too old". So why display them? One lady was on the phone the whole time so a 2nd lady came from the back. Extremely rude, condescending and dismissive. Will never buy another cake from this bakery.

Lucilas on Bird Road is simply the best! They care about their product and the clients and they went above and beyond for me. I had order my sons Baptism cake at Lucilas in Doral. I gave them 2 pictures showing how I wanted the cake to look and paid in full. When we picked up the cake it was nothing like I requested and had it been presentable I would have used it but it was horrible! There was no way I could use that cake in the reception and they told me they couldn't do anything else for me. I panicked because my event was the following morning so I immediately called Lucilas on Bird Road thinking it was the same owner and to get some assistance but they are a franchise. The owner told me she would help me and by the end of the day she had exactly what I wanted and it was DELICIOUS! It was so good that I didn't have any left overs and returned during the week to buy some slices. She was caring and professional and went above and beyond so that my son could have a beautiful cake at his reception. I truly recommend Lucilas on Bird Rd.

I want to start by saying I believe in order to succeed in business you need two things; personality and commitment. I find the owner lacks the former. You walk in and you aren't greeted by her at all, you're lucky if she even knows you're there. She has a couple girls that work behind the counter, very friendly. The cakes are very delicious but at times I've found the cakes dry, there is a variation of moist that I can never seem to find consecutively here. It's a flip of a coin! All this is easily forgotten once you bite into a good batch of cake, but the owner really needs to take notes from other cake vendors and their ability to please their clients. Personality is huge in this type of business!

Very disappointed! I've ordered three cakes from here and I will tell you it is the best rum cake in Miami. However, the decorations are not that great and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a cake for my Moms birthday a week ahead, confirmed design and it wasn't ready when I picked it up! They hadn't even started on the decorations! I'm not paying $100 for a cake that you can't call me and ask a question or barely do nice decorations. I'm done and very sad because the cake tastes amazing.

Judging from the looks of this place, I should have known it would have given me issues. So I wanted a cake from another competitor in the area (I think we all know of which I speak), but specifically a carrot cake to take with me in vacation for my boyfriend's birthday. At both locations, carrot cakes are considered custom, but here they only needed 2 days notice instead of 4. I initially told them I needed it by noon to 5:30, but then called them the day after I placed my order to change the time to 9:30 am-10:00 am. The lady said she would call back to let me know if it was possible... she never did. I called back and she said 10:30, but they can try for 10. So the day for me to pick up comes, and I come in at 10:00 am. I asked if it was ready, and she said no not until 10:30. Then I was like what's the big deal, why are they so set with this 10:30 nonsense? Then I found out that it's not made there, the factory makes it and it gets delivered at 10:30. How weird though, it's not made fresh. Who knows where this factory is. Other then that, the shop was all barren and plain. I didn't feel that they were the most helpful people, and the carrot cake was just alright, you can tell the icing wasn't fresh because it was toughened. But definitely not worth all the trouble.

I would ask Esther for the rest of my life to make me cakes! My hubby and I LOVE her cakes so much during our tasting, we went with them for our Wedding cake and even my bridal shower cake. The cakes where so moist and had the perfect amount of flavor in them. Her cakes are so amazing, I was giving out her info at my bridal shower AND my wedding! Our guests LOVE LOVE LOVE the cake we had!! She was very responsive and flexible when I was asking for a cake pretty last minute for my bridal shower. I will forever be coming to her for cakes! Xx

I always love Lucila's cake, however, later I was very dissapointed going to 2 placed owed by Venezuelan people. They had no clue of how Lucila's cake was. About a month ago I find out about this place in 7120 SW and birth rd. Thanks God!!! This is the original and only good Lucila's Cake in Miami!!! Great cakes and amazing people to take care of you. Esther is amazing and so all her staff. From now and them I don't go anywhere else to get my cakes

I have never written a feedback comment, but this one is a must for the vegan community.I have been plant based for over 5 yrs now, therefore, I have had my share of svegan cakes. My husband purchase my birthday cake from Lucila Cakes and was that a horrible mistake. It was the worst vegan cake I have ever had. It was hard and not fully cooked. It tasted like raw dough . I was only able to take a bite of my slice. In short we called to ask for a new cake or a refund. Mind you this was a cake for 20 people for $$80. They told us that we would receive a call back and we are still waiting!! My birthday was in April. I strongly recommend Sweet Art Cakes Miami, the BEST vegan cake you will ever have.

I placed an order for my daughters first birthday two weeks ago from today. Today I went to go pick up the cake and my order was nowhere to be found. I was furious. They are making the cake today but I am still mad because I have other things to do to prepare for my daughters birthday. My husband and I spoke to the same person who placed our order, nonetheless we had the order form but on their end they had no explanation. Once I receive the cake, it will be the first and last time I come here. First time here and already a problem. I do not recommend.

Terrible customer service ordered a cake to be ready by 11am was not ready and no desire to make it right cake was ready 1 1/2 hours after requested time frame. The cake was damaged they blamed on humidity ! Never coming here again

Ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday. It was delicious. Christie the lady who attended me on the phone was so helpful. When I went to pick it up it was ready to go. PERFECTION!

I stopped here for bday cake on the spot right after hurricane Irma. I had tried somewhere else near Lucila but they didn't have anything ready for the day. Fortunately, I remember seeing Lucila and we stop there. We tried on the spot a slice on the rum cake and was delicious. The ones that they had on display were plain with really generic decoration. I asked if they could do one with dulce de leche with cream and dulce de leche outside and they did it right there. The cake was delicious.

The graduation cake was sensational. Every guest like it. My son, the graduate loved it. I was very pleased.The cake was beautiful and tasteful. I was concerned about the delivery. I placed the order several months in advance. So, I called them several times few days before.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from the person that answers the phone to the manager Esther. Will never recommend buying a cake from there again...My event was on this past Saturday and when I went to pick up the cake they had made a mistake and sent my cake to another location. I told them to return my money $100.00 and it's Tuesday, August 9 and I haven't received my refund. Every time I call the office everyone is busy or leave a message and someone will call you back. HORRIBLE PLACE
