"Lisa Fernandes, a former Top Chef contestant and executive chef at Dos Caminos in Midtown, opened Sweet Chili, which started off as a food truck, in November 2019. The restaurant, which served a menu spanning Thai- and Vietnamese-inspired dishes, closed in late June, the Bushwick Daily reported." - Erika Adams

Love this restaurant! Both the food and staff are wonderful. Been multiplie times now and keep coming back for more amazing food! Some particular favorites are the crispy pork dumplings, sriracha fries, Szechuan pork & eggplant and shrimp pad Thai. And the Vietnamese coffee tiramisu for dessert! And pre-covid the inside dining was cozy and now with outside dining the outside eating spot is done really nicely. Love it here and highly recommend!

We ended here by mistake and boy was it worth while!! Let's start off with the appetizer, french fries with sriracha & aioli, had us ALL hooked. We wanted to go back the next day just for this lol. We all had different plates and everyone left satisfied, full, and loving the food. Pork belly sandwich was good, wontons, and different chicken with rice bowls 😋😋. This is a place to go and try. The whole time we were there our waitress was lovely & we noticed that there were a lot if deliveries being picked up, we now understand why.

What can we say… Easily one of the best places we have eaten in Bushwick for as long as we can remember! From the atmosphere to the ownership and the quality of service we received nothing was less than five stars… Every single appetizer, cocktail and entrée we unique in flavor and made with love! So happy we found this spot and thankful to only live a few blocks away. We will be back before you know it. Steamed Dumplings to die for ❤️

What makes this place is the service. Nicole and John are just amazing people. Originally my friend and I were going to Northwinds, but they were full in outdoor seating and these people did not look like they were going to move for a long while. We noticed immediately next door was Sweet Chili. We were so happy to dine here. Only 1 table was occupied, but by the time we started ordering, the place was full. We dat down at 555pm, 5 mins before the end of happy hour and John allowed us to order happy hour drinks and food. We ordered the $1 dumplings and $1 wings. The wings were ok, but the dumplings were really good. I ordered the Bangkok Mule, and it was very refreshing. My friend ordered the Pandan painkiller which has alot of rum, but was very subtle in in strength. It was really good. I then ordered a Liquid Pad Thai, again a really good drink but felt light or maybe I had too much already, who knows. The drink did not last long and then I ordered the Spicy Watermelon drink and that was amazingly refreshing. Meanwhile for food, I ordered the combo which included a vegetable roll, General Tso's chicken and broccoli with rice and i also ordered the papaya salad. The papaya salad was not bad, not as spicy as I was hoping for but very edible. During this whole time, both John and Nicole kept checking back and they are both awesome in terms of customer service. Nicole is beautiful inside and outside. They both recommended good menu suggestions and they were spot on. I made sure I gave them a nice tip for their services. It was certainly worth it. I would without hesitation return here even just for the drinks.

I would honestly give them place between 3.5 and 3 stars. They have outdoor seating which is great and they take your temp. It took us a very long time to order despite not being the busy. The wings had a great sauce but it was so hard !! It was like eating old wings that were refried a bunch of times. I didn’t go during happy hour so would not recommend full price. The dumpling were alright. I also got the pork belly which had the same problem of feeling like it was old. The problem here is that the meat didn’t feel fresh. The sauce on the other hand was amazing. Very flavorful.

Amazing food and service (and bonus points for super fun music too)! I ordered the Maple Miso Tofu, which was beyond delicious! Honestly, I love tofu dishes, but have had many terrible ones. This one is definitely crave-worthy, even for meat eaters. The cocktails were also fantastic, and they have an amazing happy hour, with drink and app specials (hello, a scallion pancake app for $3?? AND it was SO good!). Absolutely recommend, both owners came out and greeted us, and were beyond hospitable.

Cozy, vibrant, and, most importantly, delicious. My wife and I couldn't get enough. If you have room for it, definitely grab a side of the maple bacon or bok choy. Interesting flavors in a place you feel cool hanging out in. Highly recommended!
