"Sweet Dixie Kitchen went viral in 2017 when a customer spotted Sweet Dixie staff carrying boxes of Popeyes chicken into the kitchen, with no mention of this outside product on the menu. The Long Beach restaurant has partnered with Popeyes to introduce the chain’s first chicken sandwich. Sweet Dixie Kitchen will sell Popeyes’ buttermilk-battered chicken sandwich on a brioche bun today and Friday, slightly before Popeyes introduces it nationwide on August 12." - Mona Holmes

We were visiting long beach and it was mother's day . My daughter took me to another spot first. My boyfriend woke up later and he took us to sweet Dixie and I wish that was my first spot because his food was amazing. The place is small but has a lot of charm. I really enjoyed the family feel to it and service was excellent. Oh and they had free mimosas for mothers. Definitely will go back when visiting area.

My husband and I were in town visiting and decided to try out this place since it has the same name as our dog haha. Once we arrived there we found out the name changed to Arize Kitchen, but figured we’d try it anyway. Oh my goodness. I was so pleasantly surprised. I had the grits and eggs and it was SO TASTY. The spices they put in there were such a unique combination I’ve never tried before. Really cute homey atmosphere, and dog friendly on the patio! The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. This is our new favorite spot in Long Beach.

First visit and I can say this...it won't be my last! The decor is very warm and comfortable and everyone's dishes looked (and tasted) great. I chose the Buffalo Chicken & Waffle and it they delivered. Kudos to the chef and staff!!

I wanted to love this place, but they have horribly long wait times (even when they are not busy) - The front end staff is not very friendly at all, although our waiter was nice. - The food is very homemade tasting and lacked seasoning . . . will not be going back.

Great little breakfast spot near Long Beach. Fresh biscuits, go for the deelish avocado toast and salad. Not thrilled about the gravy for biscuits (had to try). Sweet atmosphere and cosy decor. FYI only bodum coffee and cash payment.

I was welcomed immediately and immediately felt comfortable and at home. The menu was very unique which was what I was looking for and the food was amazing!!! I highly recommend Sweet Dixie Kitchen if you are looking to impress yourself and others.

Happened across this lovely country garden style café whilst biking the off streets of Long Beach. Fairly quiet spot and there are plenty of green things to provide shade on the wide sidewalk. My server brought water, as requested, and it was iced with slices of orange, lemon, and cucumber. Perfect to cool me down. Beer and wine selection looked good, but, since I just learned that Thursdays are free NA beverage days, I opted for their peach, basil lemonade. A fabulous flavor combination I've not had in any beverage, this stuff ROCKS. I can't wait to make some spiked with, uum, I don't know, Asti Spumanti if sweetness is desired. Prosecco would work. 'Course a shot of Eagle Rare would be perfect. GWOS. I had the meatloaf burger. Spicy (not very) Aioli dressing, provolone, heirloom tomatoes, arugula and a homemade bun. This all wrapped around a 2" thick slice of meatloaf as good as anybody's momma ever made (sorry moms). You know as soon as you chew the first bite, before tasting, the texture was perfect. Tomatoes were ripe enough to melt easily into the whole, not very common, but chefs who choose heirloom usually know ripe. Lots of stuff to try here, but the meatloaf will lure me back on a regular basis. Just don't go in a hurry. This ain't no fast food so relax and enjoy watching the city move.
