Let’s Go On a Boba Tea Crawl Through Nashville | Eater Nashville

"In Midtown, the shop earns extra points for a fun mural, a sticky-note wall customers can personalize, and cool rounded bullet-shaped cups; we noticed the tea here is made using the familiar powders so you'll find honeydew, taro, and matcha alongside more inventive seasonals like a summery watermelon fruit boba tea and a winter chocomallow slush topped with torched marshmallows." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

As someone who’s incredibly picky about boba, I have to say this boba tea shop exceeded my expectations! The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced—not too sweet, just the way I like it. The tapioca pearls were soft and chewy, with just the right texture (a rare find!). Place is cute too

Drinks were of high quality. Quick to grab our drinks. Only complaint need more enthusiasm from the worker here.

Ever since I moved to Nashville, I’ve been on a search to find my go-to boba 🧋 spot. Quite a few highly rated boba tea spots disappointed me in the last few months. So, I asked a bunch of locals in a group on social media where they go. A lot of them named something in Franklin, but in Nashville, Sweet Dots had the highest votes. So I decided to give them a try with “high expectations”. I’m so so happy to report that they’re the best boba tea spot I’ve tried in Nashville. 1. Their regular boba had the best texture, was sweet, and soft. 2. Thai tea at 3-dots tasted amazing. Though I might do 4-dots next time since their sweetness level was good, not too sweet. 3. The staff was so friendly. I’m not sure if they were owners but they were very happy to greet us even late in the day. The only reason I’m giving 4.5, is because I think the decor can use an update. I wish they had cute chic decor that I can use to post about them on social media. The sticky wall is vibrant but the indoor seating can use some color and life.

It was amazing because it was so delicious. It's the best milk tea ive tried ever Please try when you're thirsty with toppings!

Google
My favorite Boba tea place in Nashville. I'm a boba tea lover, went to most of the places in Nashville and the surrounding area. This place has a very good tapioca ball. Teas are also good. Has many choices.

Google
This was such a great boba drink! Ordered online and it was ready quickly. Nice looking store and great service. Love that they have non-dairy options, I will definitely be back!

Google
For our on campus event, we ordered catering from Sweet Dots! It was super easy to request and they prepared the drinks for us just in time! Everybody at our event loved the drinks — some would even come just for the boba!

Google
Delicious drinks! I talked with Daniel and Lin, and they were both very friendly and nice. We struck up a conversation while I waited for my boba, which tasted as good as it looked!

Yelp
Love!!!! Always looking for a good milk tea spot & Sweet Dots did not disappoint. Ordering online was very easy, and there is paid street parking right outside. I was able to walk in, let them know the name on my order and be on my way. It was really good and $6.82 for a 24oz Thai MT which is good pricing for what you're getting. The inside of the business is pretty small so I wouldn't plan to sit there after you order though.

Yelp
I love boba and milk tea, but unfortunately, this was a wasted trip and a waste of money. Customer Service: There was none. When we walked in, a lady just looked at us without a greeting, and throughout the entire ordering process, she didn't say a single word. A simple "hello" goes a long way, and when staff can't even acknowledge customers, it's a clear sign of poor service and an overall bad experience. The Drink: I ordered a taro milk tea, and yikes--it was awful. It tasted like mostly water with some skim milk. There was no taro flavor at all, just a bland, watery mess. It was so disappointing that I had to go to Boba & Bites afterward just to get a decent milk tea. Ambiance: there's a small seating area tucked away in the back. Looked decent. Save yourself the trip and just go to Boba & Bites--it's way better, well-balanced, and actually worth the money.

Yelp
Located in a funky part of town, I enjoyed my TaroTea although it wasn't super hot. Ample seating inside & definitely friendly service! Can try this spot again and choose another flavor for kicks!

Yelp
Cutest staff and delicious bubble tea! They have non dairy milk options for vegans. Very great level of sweetness and perfect chewiness to the boba Indoor space is in the back where you can sit!

Yelp
Tried my friend's fruit tea and it was not good - too sweet, clearly made with syrup. There's much better boba in Nashville like Eat Bubbles and Sharetea!

Yelp
Love their boba, and the staff is always very friendly!! They're super accommodating about caffeine, so I always tell them to make any drink with water instead of the tea, and it's always a super easy switch! I honestly don't think it ruins the flavor of any of the drinks, even the milk based ones! They have the BEST ube milk boba that I've had: it is SO sweet and decadent. The tapioca pearls are a nice texture, chewy and soft. Some boba places give you giant drinks but the standard here is a smaller 16oz size and I kind of like that, as it isn't too overwhelming. I've also tried the oreo dots drink and it's good, just definitely borders on being a milkshake.

Yelp
Coming from out of town and a place that has numerous boba options, I had a boba craving and came here because it was closest to Centennial Park (where I was). Upon coming in, we were greeted nicely by the staff. The prices were comparable to prices back in Maryland. I was surprised that there were a handful of spots in the area. Anyway, the place is clean and cute. There's a kiosk to order but we just ordered at the register. I had a regular black milk tea and boba. It was pretty solid and the boba texture was good. Behind the counter there's a spacious room to just sit and chill. I wish they'd have games to play while enjoying your boba but it's ok! I still enjoyed sitting and relaxing there. The staff was friendly and the place was overall great. I recommend it! If I am back in the area, I'll be back - especially to try the baked goods.

Yelp
I absolutely love, sweet dots! the service was very fast and friendly and the Boba texture is perfection. I don't have any complaints about this location at all. I definitely would be a regular if it was closer to me. I got the strawberry Matcha with tapioca Boba and it's such a nice sweet treat in my opinion.

Yelp
Yum! This place is great! I got the plain black tea but it was the right amount of sweet. I also tried the banana one which was REALLY delicious!! Definitely check this place out! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Honesty, pretty good boba and pretty good flavor! Had a plethora of boba in nyc and their boba comes closest to the ones I've had in New York. Would def be back and cute seating in the back! Great workers and service too !

Yelp
A hidden boba place in this tea (Not really). They do have the Asian cute looking bear at the outside wall. Service is fast. It is a cute and cozy place to chill with friend or even coworker for gossip.

Yelp
Sweet Dots is a cute boba place on Elliston. We walked from Vanderbilt, but there is some street parking (maybe a lot. I'm not sure). The staff is super nice and welcoming. I really enjoyed my Thai Milk Tea. They have very friendly prices. My tea with boba was about $6.50 (I got the larger size). I wish they had a few more flavors, but I'm sure you can find something great. Of course you can customize your drink with topping and sweetness level. There is a seating area in the back of the store. There's about 6 tables with plenty of space. When I went it wasn't too crowded. Overall, cute place. I would definitely visit again.

Yelp
This place was super cute but the boba was trash. My friend and I both got different teas and both really lacking in flavor. Mine tasted like watered down and made my kidneys and stomach hurt after drinking. My friends popping boba would pop at the tip of straw and hers made her stomach hurt as well. Service was also super slow with only 2 customers ahead of us. Granted they had Uber orders so I'll give them that. And the macarons were really yummy. Best part of the experience. Would not come back here ever, there are better boba spots around.

Dave M.

Yelp
Dead roach on the floor they also had good boba, but mostly the roach, his name is Booty Bouncer Joe, make sure to say hi if you see him, but boba is seriously amazin!! I recommend you come here and get some

Yelp
the only boba place that will not frown for asking extra extra extra boba.. they even smile when they hear you asking for more toppings lol of course you'll pay for those extras been too many boba places and so far this is my number 1 place to go! and the service superb!!!! ambience was simple and clean

Yelp
Stopped by today and the lady who made my drink licked her fingers while she was making my drink and the wiped her finger on the rim of the cup. I waited until some customers left and said to her I saw you licking your fingers and touching the rim of the cup while making my drink and that she should be more careful. Her response was "sorry." I wasn't sure if I should ask for a new drink or what but I winded up taking the cup anyway. The worst part was it was all happening directly in my face. Disappointed in the lack of customer service and hygiene on the company's behalf. Don't go here if you want a drink that has someone else's saliva on it !!
google avatar

Andy N.

Yelp
The boba was less than subpar. You can tell that they use artificial powders to create the flavors rather than real ingredients. As I sipped, I had some of those hardened powders along with my boba. The tapioca was a bit stale, and after I finished my drink, my stomach was tossing and turning.
google avatar

Shirley C.

Yelp
Cute bubble tea shop! I've gotten both the brown sugar milk tea (which they market as the Sweet Dots Original) and the lychee fruit tea. Both had balanced flavor profiles and the tapioca pearls were cooked well although they did get firm after sitting out for a while, so I recommend finishing your drink relatively quickly. I also like that they offer a variety of toppings that I haven't seen at other places in the area, including popping boba (cherry, yogurt, and rainbow) and brown sugar boba. Their sweetness scale is a little unusual in that they use a "dots" system where 1 dot = less sweetness, 2 dots = normal sweetness, 3 dots = more sweetness, and 4 dots = double sweetness. Service was friendly but maybe a little slow although there was only one person working the counter, so the delay was understandable.

Yelp
This place is so cute! From the post-it wall to the cute cups, I absolutely loved my experience here. I tried the sweet dots original milk tea with two dots for sweetness, and it was a bit on the light side. I would probably get three dots next time. The flavors were great though! Not the powder milk stuff, but actual milk. I also got their Oreo dots for my husband, and it was more like a Oreo slush. They were a bit on the pricey side, and they both really yummy. I would definitely come again when I'm in the area next.

Yelp
I have traveled around the world trying different bubble tea (thailand, hawaii, california, peru and many more). I used to manage a bubble tea stop in NY so finding GOOD boba in nashville has been a challenge. This place was amazing, the boba is perfect! Best place for boba i've found in nashville so far!! I got the black milk tea, with very minimal sweetness and oat milk.. so so good! I've gone 3 times in one week. If you're a bubble tea addict like myself, definitely give this cute little shop a try! Some days are busier than others, i did notice there is some new staff in training so be patient. Other times there is no wait, some times 15 minutes, but worth it if you're not in a rush. We took a picture after trying it. The picture had to wait

Amily H.

Yelp
dead cockroach on floor if you see him say hi to booty bouncer Joe. boba was amazing but cockroach was best. 10/10 would recommend say hi to BBJ.
google avatar

Lara S.

Yelp
Went back and got the taro milk tea, but this time it was very watered down. It didn't have much of a taro flavor and they didn't put enough boba. I've seen some reviews saying similar things about it being watered down, which is unfortunate for the price.

Yelp
I love this place! The boba here is fantastic. The workers are super friendly as well. Shoutout to Lily and Wonjun for being the best and hardworking bobaristas, especially on a busy Tuesday night.

Yelp
This cute boba shop! It's Instagram-worthy to take pictures outside! The store is pretty big. There are seats in the back area. The store has a lot of post-it as decor, which is filled with fun comments/drawings. There's post it and pen available if you want to add. I had the taro drink which was delicious I would note that if you order less ice they will charge you. Overall it's cute, and the drinks were good. If I'm nearby, I wouldn't mind stopping by for a treat!

Yelp
Wow I'm surprised to find such yummy bubble tea in Nashville! Consistency of the boba is perfect and loved their honeydew milk tea!

Kris G.

Yelp
I Tried this location for the first time on 11/19/23. Me and my family arrived around 2:30pm, and the young lady that was the cashier didn't greet us as we entered the store she just looked at us. I ordered a Passion fruit tea which tasted like flavored water. When the drinks were done she slammed them down on the counter with an attitude. Her customer service was horrible, and I almost asked for a refund but I just won't return again!
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
It is so nice to finally have a boba place that is at such a convenient location. I absolutely love this little shop, and plan on visiting here more often. The teas are great and they come in such cute packaging. I love their selection and all the ways that you can customize your drink. It's definitely worth the visit plus the shop is super cute with all the post it notes left on the walls from visitors.
google avatar

Abhi G.

Yelp
Not the best boba in town but the location is convenient! The bubbles themselves are way too squishy but the flavors of the tea are pretty good. I've only had the passion fruit and the peach and Thai tea but it's pretty good.
google avatar

Bruna K.

Yelp
Honestly we had a disappointing experience. The system was down so they wanted us to order online where it had way more fees (they even charge you an extra dollar for regular milk). I ordered 2 other drinks with this one included but didn't bother with the pictures as they were all the same. The girls working the counter were talking about how they were out of matcha and decided not to tell the customers (gave us really watered out drinks), they charge more for putting less ice which is so strange, the boba pearls were unfortunately rock hard and the drinks overall were extremely sweet even after asking for less sugar.
google avatar

Bri J.

Yelp
Came here on a whim one day after visiting buffalo exchange across the street. It's a really cute boba shop. You can write on sticky notes and put them on the wall which is always fun, right? They have a nice selection of drinks to pick from. I asked a worker what her favorite was and she recommended the strawberry matcha, so I had that with oatmilk. Everything is reasonably priced, for the most part. They charge $1 to use oatmilk instead of regular milk which is a bit wild to me. But the drink was so freaking good I don't even care. This shop is 15 minutes away from me, but I'm driving back out there today just to get boba again. It's definitely worth trying if you're in the area. Or even if you're not.

Yelp
I was so excited to find a "bubble tea" place near me. I just moved here recently. I went in around 3:30 PM on my break from work. I walked in-no one said a word to me or acknowledged me at all. After standing in the wrong line for about 10 minutes, one of the customers informed me of the kiosk where you place an order. I placed my order and stood waiting along with six or seven other people who the employee didn't even make eye contact w/ any of us. She was the only person working at the time and I'm sure everyone in there would be understanding if she acted like she remotely cared AT ALL that we were all standing there watching her act as if she wanted to be anywhere else but there. My order for a small tea took forty minutes to make. I will definitely not go back again. I have never in my entire life left a review but if I were the owner of that business I'd want to know how my employee was treating the customers!!

Hailey A.

Yelp
I love this place! It is my favorite boba in Nashville. Kimmy is always so helpful and personable. Great time all around
