Went in for a last minute father’s day cake last month and luckily they had some pre-made cakes available. Got the sesame, red bean, and vanilla one. The 6” one was perfect for 4-5 people and it was delicious! All prices and flavors are listed on the wall and the cup sizes are displayed as well.

Sweet Dynasty in Sunset Park of Brooklyn is where I get all my birthday cakes since I first found them. This time they worked out a master plan with me to bring an ice cream cake to my wedding banquet. Everyone was hesitant at first about it thinking it was a typical sponge cake, but after the first bite, all that was left was the plate. They enjoyed it so much, some even reached out to ask where I got it. Don’t miss out!

The black sesame ice cream is to die for. Prices are reasonable and their list of flavors are amazingly great, allowing for a number of different combinations. We always tend to get a couple of cakes for different occasions (or just to casually eat!). Owners and workers are really nice and their turnaround time is great, having called the night before and receiving the cake the next day. Highly recommended!

The black sesame ice-cream is the die for!! I got it for my birthday and mah god I am coming here every year for my birthday but also just to satisfy my sweet cravings 😋 they have so many flavors to choose from and they all sound amazing. We ordered two ice-cream cakes (lychee/strawberry and Black sesame/vanilla) and they were cute and delicious. If you do order, please call them a least a day ahead so they can prepare it for you. The have different sizes as well but we got the small one.

Its hard to find a good quality ice cream place that also features Asian flavors! Everyone was incredibly helpful and so willing to help me decide on what I wanted. The ice cream itself is so creamy, flavorful, and melts at the perfect rate unlike some other ice creams that melt instantly or don’t melt for minutes and minutes. The black sesame and lychee are incredible! SO flavorful, creamy and you can taste the quality in the creams and flavors. I 100% recommend this place to everyone, especially if you enjoy flavors such as black sesame, red bean, lychee, milk tea, etc.

After standing at the counter for several minutes for the only guy working at the store to come around and take my order, as a first time customer I asked a simple question of how much ice cream is in a small serving. The guy first answered that it's more than one scoop. I asked again implying him showing me the serving cup, as I'm trying to watch my intake. He then immediately walked off from the counter, waved his hand dismissively, said the place is not for me, and my question is apparently very stupid. And it "makes him feel stupid". I was going to bring several friends to try the place out however I'm glad I came here alone first, as at least my friends now don't have to have this horrible experience.

I purchased the cake a couple of weeks ago for my son’s Batman theme birthday party after I saw a photo of a similar cake that they have posted online. Little guy was ecstatic after seeing the cake. The lady on the phone who took my order was patient and accommodating. I made the order last minute and she was still able to fulfill my request. Our favorite flavors are sesame, red bean, milk tea and lychee. The sesame flavor is strong, but pairs well with red bean. Those 2 flavors were a major hit in my family. My parents asked for seconds every time we order from Sweet Dynasty.

Best ice cream in Brooklyn ! I drive over an hour just to come here. Now that they have the Edison location I can go there more often. I ordered my moms birthday cake from here and it was better than I could of imagined ! Ordering process was super simple. 10/10

Ordered ice cream cakes here several times. Owner is accommodating with last minute orders, even for holidays. There are pre made flavors so I was able to order a cake a day before pickup. They have many flavors to choose from but their specialty are Asian flavors like black sesame, red bean, durian, etc. which you won't find at a Carvel. Black sesame flavor was a personal favorite and a hit with my family. Strong flavor compared to tarp and red bean, which was a more subtle flavor. You can pick two flavors for the ice cream cake. Additional flavors costs more. A 6in cake is about $36 and 8inch is about $56. Not sure if this place is cash only so I would bring cash in case. First time I picked up, they accepted cash and card. But the second time I picked up my cake, the guy said cash only. Small family business -- definitely recommend if you're in the area and want some ice cream or need an ice cream cake.

8 inches ice cream cake has gone up from $41 ( 3 years ago) to $52 today. You can pick two flavor. The design of cake is the same as 3 years ago. Customer service I'm from the owner old man hasn't changed. . No mall shake. Only smoothies and slushies offered. We ordered vanilla and mango icecream cake. It was ready when I got there. Name was misspelled but corrected right away. Icecream cake offers mild sweetness which fit our preferences. It would be great if the flavor of both icecream will be more bold. It can be they use less artificial flavoring and used more natural ingredients instead. The texture of icecream was smooth and creamy.

The vanilla was smooth as expected. However the strawberry was icy like I was eating shaved ice..

Small friendly family owned ice cream store in Brooklyn. I ordered an ice cream birthday cake here and asked the lady owner to make a rose covered design for me which she did beautifully. They have unique asian ice cream flavors that are creamy and not too sweet. You can ask for an ice cream cake with any of their flavors. I used to go to a similar store in 8th ave that had shut down so was really nostalgic for me. Very affordable and good quality ice cream!

Came to this place based on a recommendation from a friend. They recommended ice cream cakes but didn't have an occasion. Opted for the 2 scoop for 7 dollars. Kinda wished the scoops were bigger. The lychee flavor was really prominent and really good. There were pieces of lychee in there as well The milk tea was surprisingly good as well. Can definitely taste the tea They weren't too sweet which is a huge plus. Will try ordering a cake from them next time

I love their ice cream! I come here to get my family's cake every time we have a birthday. Just call in and tell em the flavors you want, what you want written on the cake, the size, and when you want to pick up. They're very efficient and friendly.

My family really enjoyed the cake from here that my sister in law got for my Dad's birthday :) I decided that I also wanted to order a cake for my husband as he enjoyed the cake. We got to try the milk tea and the pistachio flavors which were nice and creamy. When I decided to order my cake, I was lucky enough to get to speak with the homemade ice cream maker himself, Ming! He was really cool, friendly and we ended up chatting for almost 30 min! I got to find out how much goes into the process of the ice cream he makes and the passion behind his products. It was really nice to know how much quality means to him and how much he's doing to maintain the quality and prices despite the rising costs of everything nowadays due to the pandemic and everything just being harder and more expensive to get. Unfortunately I won't get to meet him because he won't be there the day I'll be picking up, but I hope to meet him soon! Looking forward to trying the black sesame and lychee cake I just ordered! This is really my favorite Asian flavored ice cream shop. We've been going here since they were at their other location and now they moved to 5th avenue. We love buying ice cream cakes here. You can choose different flavors and they decorate it so cute with mini cones on top. And yes we order ice cream cakes in the fall & Winter too!! Sometimes you just need that Asian flavor ice cream craving and their ice cream is super rich and creamy. Owners are really nice and friendly, too. Tip: call in advance to place your cake orders!!

We got a three tier ice cream cake with 6 different flavors. We have always ordered one tier for the family but they were able to do three with no problem. I added my own cookie decorations for my event. It turned out beautifully. Their cakes are not too sweet and flavors are on point. It was amazing. We will continue to order from them.

Their cakes are always delicious. We recently had a party for my one year old twins and they did a good job with a three tier cake. Everyone was impressed.

Looking for unique ice cream flavors, you should definitely try sweet dynasty. You can order a custom ice cream 72hours before hand. They have 6in, 8in and 10in. If you have a last minute party to attend they do have some pre-made cake ready. Just ask them about what flavors they have. They also had two or three mini cones on top of the cake depending on how big your cake is. You can let them know which flavored mini cone you would like.

An amazing ice cream shop with Asian inspired flavors as well as the popular American flavors. I called to order a birthday cake on the day it was needed and I love that they usually have cakes pre-made for emergencies and last minute celebrations. The lady I spoke on the phone was very friendly and accommodating. You can tell she really cares about her customers. The shop is also a family owned business, worked by the lady, her husband and other family members! So it's nice to be able to support local businesses, especially during this time. I ordered a 6 inch cake with 3 flavors inside: milk tea, taro and lychee. Their cakes range from $25-$45 based on size and # of flavors, which I'd say is a pretty great deal. I also ordered a pint of black sesame ice cream on the side, which was $6.50. Not only are the prices at this shop very reasonable, but their ice cream is delicious too! My family and I loved how fragrant each flavor was. The ice cream is super creamy and not too sweet so it will satisfy any Asian parent :) I've been coming here for some time now and don't plan on changing that! I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to make a stop here!

Love the ice cream cake I got today with same day pick up. I called them to place an order and it was ready in a few hours. Used to have to go all the way to Chinatown ice cream factory but this spot is just as good and much closer. They have Asian inspired flavors like taro and it was delicious. I got a 6" cake for my grandpa (taro + pistachio) for $27 and fed the 4 of us with still about half the cake left. Would definitely come back!

My brother came here for the famous ice cream cakes. He was very happy with the cake, it did not disappoint at all. I would recommend everyone to come and try and experience your tastebuds for the best cake.

Sweet Dynasty, you get a 4.5 stars from me! I can't give you full marks, because some of the ice cream flavors aren't as good as the others (so limited flavor combos for best ice cream cake), but you'll have my business whenever someone's birthday comes around. I no longer go to Baskin Robbins, Carvel, or Cold Stone for ice cream cakes because they're too heavy and too sweet for my palate, while Sweet Dynasty has all the Asian flavors and lightness of a perfect ice cream. I've been buying ice cream cakes from this establishment for several years, multiple times per year, and the owner is so, so sweet and nice. My family usually orders over the phone, and then we go pick up the cake a couple days later when it's ready. The communication and customer service is great, especially when you talk to the owner directly about what you want for your order. Sometimes, some of her employees are a bit rude and standoffish if you catch them when she's not there. We've tried a variety of ice cream flavors, and we've settled on milk tea and lychee being the best of the best. Unfortunately, this means that's all we're going to be ordering from now on, unless they introduce more delicious new flavors. The milk tea is light and soft, and the lychee is pleasantly fruity without overwhelming the palate. It's a good refreshing dessert after a hearty birthday dinner. The mango flavor is not good, it's not fresh at all. It is also more sour than sweet, so I think this is a solid miss. The taro is alright, but I think it can be a little chalky-tasting if consumed in large amounts. When we tasted it from the sample mini ice cream cone on the top of the cake, it was fine, but not so as a whole cake layer. Both the chocolate and vanilla are pretty standard as they get. I would rather pick the more exotic options, as you can get chocolate and vanilla ice cream cakes from anywhere. I didn't care for the mint ice cream either, which I tasted from a mini ice cream cone topping. I've heard they have durian flavored ice cream, but I'm not a fan of durian, so I'm hesitant to order a cake with an entire layer of it, but perhaps I'll do so to mix things up a bit. Oh, and the matcha flavor is alright, but as I'm not a matcha lover either, I haven't gotten this in an ice cream cake as of yet. But I think it's a solid option, especially for people who like all things matcha. You can't go wrong with the milk tea and lychee combo though, and it's very affordable at $27 for a 6 inch cake. I'll be back on the next birthday!

Bought ice cream cake for dessert for a medium group gathering. Everyone enjoyed! I got medium size which is a good size for about 9 people. I got taro and milk tea flavor!

So for my birthday I wanted an ice cream cake and sent my husband over. And, what's even more appealing is that they have asian inspired flavors! Hands down, this was the best ice cream cake i've ever had. So the flavor of the cake was milk tea and coffee. The milk tea was my favorite. So rich and creamy. Even my mom who's not a sweets person nor does she eat ice cream, loved it! It was a pre-made 8in cake ($45) but you can order a custom one in advance. I loved that it had 3 small lil ice cream cones on top and my son even ate it. Overall, it was very good but the writing could use some work. My husband said the guy who took his order was very nice and friendly. Definitely will be ordering more cakes from them in the future!

Tonight, we celebrated my dad's birthday. My sister picked up a black sesame cake from here. It was yummy. If you like the dessert, you would love the cake version. I'm not keen on exotic cakes however my parents are big fans. I recommend trying this place if you like these hard to find flavors.

I ordered a 6" taro and green tea icecream cake it was delicious. $27 for a 6" cake. I also order two pint lychee and sesame. The icecream wasn't sweet and has the perfect flavor.

My go to place for ice cream cakes in Brooklyn! I am so glad to have this spot available in my area so I don't have to travel too far with an ice cream cake. The staff here is always super friendly and inviting. I've gotten the past few birthday cakes here for my family and they all loved it. The most memorable flavors here are the lychee and milk tea. I'd love to try some of the other flavors such as almond and pistachio as well, but they never seem to have it. I like that they offer the mini ice cream cones on top of your cake which is a great way to try a new flavor or get a flavor for yourself that the birthday person may not like. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place to anyone that needs an ice cream cake for any occasion!

I love this dessert spot. The owners are so friendly and such a joy to talk to. I have ordered multiple cakes here for all different family gatherings and everyone of all ages rave about how much they love the flavors. Our family's favorites are milk tea, green tea, black sesame, and taro. We've ordered larger cakes for small gatherings so that people can bring some extras home. I also love the mini ice cream cones that are on top of their cakes because they're great treats for the smaller kids. I am most definitely going to be a longtime customer here.

I explained my preferences for the cake and chose the flavors. The cake came out perfect. The standard cakes comes with two flavors and cost additional for each additional flavor. I ordered a six inch cake with three flavors (milk tea, matcha, and sesame). Milk tea was a huge hit. It tastes exactly like milk tea. I'm very happy to find a local Asian inspired ice cream shop in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back hereto try other flavors or if I want to order another ice cream cake.

Milky and delicious ice cream. A friend had bought me my favorite flavors taro and milk tea ice cream cake decorated with a lavender flower design for my birthday so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to gift someone else a delicious ice cream cake! The strawberry has chunks of real strawberry in it and the milk tea has the yummiest strong and true flavor. The owner included a scoop of taro and a scoop of lychee on top. Whenever there's a celebration, my friends and I will continue to share your amazing creations!

My favorite ice cream shop in Sunset Park. My mom loves ice cream so I've been buying her birthday cakes from Sweet Dynasty for the past 2 years. Both times I was very pleased with their service. Our favorite flavors are Oreo and Taro. Sweet Dynasty's ice cream is prefect for Asian families because they're "not too sweet" as per my Aunts and Uncles. I love that I can pick 2 flavors for the cake (which comes with a few mini cones) and add additional mini cones on top. The cones cost extra but they are worth the price because both the kids and adults love how small and cute the cones are. Sweet Dynasty cakes are always a crowd pleaser and their service is always fantastic. Highly recommend!

Both birthday cakes: strawberry/cookie and cream and black sesame/ milk tea. All so so genuine to its name. We tried mango, lychee, and green tea also. All really good and unique. It's so tough to pick which is my favorite flavor as they all so good. The only man over the counter were very helpful and friendly. Our next birthday cake will be lychee and taro! Will definitely be back very soon.

This is probably the only ice cream shop that has Asian-style flavors (ie taro, green tea, red bean) in the area. I've been here a few times, and I always seem to come back because their ice cream is that good. Keep in mind that they alternate their flavors a lot. Every time I go, there are different flavors featured. The prices are decently priced as well. It is $3.25 for a scoop. The last time I was here, I ordered a 6 inch birthday cake for $25. We got two flavors: taro and milk tea. Both were equally delicious and not too sweet. Give this place a try! You won't regret it. They are cash only.

Great place to get ice cream if you want flavors such as taro, red bean, black sesame. The staff is very friendly. They'll let you try the flavor before purchasing. They also have cakes, smoothies, bubble tea, and slushies. TARO Ice cream: It was a pretty purple color. It was sweeter than I expected. However, you can taste the taro in it. It wasn't just a hint of taro, you actually have that taro flavor more than a milky flavor.

AWESOME job with the customized Elmo birthday cake with lychee and taro flavors. Normally customized cakes require at least a few days advance notice. But I got tasked with ordering a last minute birthday cake. I only gave 24 hours notice and the owner was able to get the job done! He was so accommodating and such a pleasant guy to work with! Will definitely be ordering more cakes from here!

Found this spot based on the Yelp reviews... it did not disappoint. I called in on a Friday evening and spoke to the owner about a custom ice cream cake for Sunday which is short notice... and was told I could pick it up the next day. She was so friendly, helpful and super patient with my indecisiveness. I hadn't had her ice cream or any of the Asian flavors before but I figured taro would be a more mild flavor to start off with. I ordered a 3 layered 6 inch cake: Taro, Coconut and Cookies & Cream, the decorative ice cream cones had a scoop of Black Sesame & Milk Tea Ice Cream. (It is delicious. I can't stop snacking on it. Smh.) At pickup I sampled a few (really good) flavor combinations with the flavors I'm not familiar with. Basically- I'll be back. Delicious, customizable ice cream cakes and amazing customer service!! To those not familiar with some of the Asian flavors: I think taro is a safe bet If you're a little unsure and /or ordering without taste testing. Otherwise the flavor combinations the owner suggests are spot on!!

Durian is not a fruit that I like. But I had to try the homemade durian flavored ice cream. Clearly both the fruit and the ice cream are tastes that I haven't acquired--yet. I say yet because there's a;ways hope as in I find myself stranded on some deserted far away place and there's a choice between death or eat durian. While this may be a difficult choice I'm fairly certain that I'm likely to much on durian. Strictly for sustenance but I digress... There are amazing Asian flavors of ice cream served at Sweet Dynasty. My favorites were red bean, taro root, black sesame and green tea. There are many more flavors that I hadn't the opportunity to try. In short, Sweet Dynasty in my opinion is better than any other place located in such Asian neighborhoods as Chinatown and Flushing. Yesterday I left with six pints of ice cream and I don't want to tell you how much ice cream I have left today.

My new Go-to ice cream spot in Brooklyn. I love the milk tea ice cream. I cannot wait to try lychee, almond and durian. They didn't have every flavor listed on the menu probably due to covid.

Surprised that I have no heard of this place even though I have lived in this neighborhood all my life. This is a great place to come if you want tasty ice cream cakes for an extremely affordable price. For a two flavor cake it is $25 and the cakes are a pretty decent size (perfect for desserts after a meal). The milk tea and sesame cake was absolutely delicious, the flavors went really well together and it also tasted very authentic. The lychee flavor was also delicious but I found the mango flavor kinda meh. The mango flavor was definitely not as strong compared to the other three flavors above but it was not bad. The designs on the cake were pretty basic, but from looking at the images on yelp it seems that they can do more detailed images if the cake was requested ahead of time. But overall, great place for an ice cream cake and I would definitely be back in the future!

I have loved Sweet Dynasty since back when they were still located in 8 ave and the store name was No.1 Best Ice Cream. Although farther now, they have not lost loyal customers. After all, they really do have the best ice cream. My family love ordering their ice cream cakes for birthdays and other special occasions. I'm actually a pretty picky eater, but I have not tasted a flavor that I did not enjoy - as long as it was made from them. They even made durian taste good, and that says something. If you want custom flavors for your cake then you should call ahead to make sure that they can prepare in time. Otherwise, you will be able to pick a pre-made cake.

My sister ordered a medium-sized cake, which was able to feed small slices to 5 kids and about 8 adults. She called one day in advance to place an order. The 3 flavors of ice cream chosen were red bean, lychee, and black sesame. I love anything with red bean in it and this ice cream was no exception. The red bean layer had a slight red bean taste, and it wasn't overly sweet. However, the red bean pieces in the ice cream were a little hard, which was expected since it's ice cream. With that in mind, maybe the red bean can be crushed prior to making the ice cream mixture for a smoother finish. The lychee layer was really sweet, but it definitely had lychee flavor. I'm glad the the whole cake wasn't lychee flavor or else it would be inedible. The black sesame layer wasn't bad. Slightly gritty, but you really can't notice it unless you're really trying to analyze every little thing about it. Overall, the 3 flavors chosen were delicious and I'm even considering to get cakes from Sweet Dynasty for every birthday party!

Fantastic, tasty ice cream cake. Flavour selection changes per seasons. The usual staples of Vanilla and Chocolate to Rum Raisin, Taro, and Durian. Owner is nice and chats up a storm with incoming customers. Choose from the booklet for customize cake design, bigger size cakes can hold more ice cream flavours. Family and friends enjoyed this great dessert addition.

The sweetest owners ever! I almost always order ice cream cakes here for loved ones birthday. Last minute I ordered a black sesame and lychee cake for my mothers birthday, and they craft it up and had it ready to go for me to pick up. They deserve nothing but five stars with their service and the unique flavors they offer. I appreciate this little spot in South Brooklyn. Support your local businesses guys!

Ordered a birthday cake online through yelp, which is though Grubhub the day before picking up. The menu is easy to choose from, the different flavors of cakes, the different combinations of flavors on a cake and the different sizes and prices. I ended up choosing a milk tea and cookies and cream ice cream cake for 12 people , cod irked it and paid for online. Didn't like the fact that it says pending and waiting for confirmation. I called in a few hours worrying that the order wasn't received and that it was never confirmed. I was helped immediately, they confirmed my order and notified me that it wasn't in their part that theh can't confirm the order, it was part of Grubhubs, they don't allow confirmation one hour before pick up which doesn't really make much sense especially when it comes to birthday cakes. But the man that helped me was very helpful and made sure my order was correct and everything was set. The cake was ready on time and the flavor of the cake was really good. Only complaint is the decorations of the cake never seems to change, a bit boring is my only complaint, other than that, the ice cream flavors are good!

Ok, they seriously won all my votes. They are hands down my favorite place to get ice cream cakes. Since i've learned abt them in June this year, ive been gettin cakes from them literally every month and for every occasion, birthdays, mothers day, fathers day.. and many more to come! They have premade cakes that u can pick up on the spot or if u know what u want u can call literally the day before and they will make it for u! One time i even called the morning of and she was nice enough to make it for me and have the cake rdy for pick up by 5pm. Ive also had to get a cake from BK to Qns and the lady on the phone reassured me that the cake wont melt cos she had taken cakes from BK NY to NJ. And it was true, the 2 cakes we brought to queens did not melt! So far, we've received tons of rave on the milk tea flavor, black sesame and taro. They also sell ice cream flavors in pints. Theyre cash only and their number sometimes do get busy (and their VM isnt set up) but try again, u will get them.

The owner is very accommodating and nice. I ordered a two tier baby shower ice cream cake about a week in advance and it was not a problem. She sent some photos of some of the cakes she's made in the past for me to get an idea of what it would look like and even opened her store a bit earlier for me to pick up the cake from her. With the two tier cake she also recommended 4 flavors for me to choose from. Overall very satisfied with the experience here.

Absolutely lovely! Loved my ice cream cake - it was green tea and sesame flavored. I especially loved the sesame ice cream! I've visited Sweet Dynasty often, before they moved to this new location over 6 years ago, so the flavors definitely brought back some nostalgia. Owner is super friendly, too.

I've always known this shop as the brooklyn ice cream factory when they were still located in 8th Avenue! Their cakes are SUPER cute and tasty! I recently ordered one for my boyfriend and the service was amazing. It was simple and picking up the cake was hassle free! Their cake designs are simple but they will put little ice cream cones and different flavor ice creams in there as part of their design! Good way to let customers try other flavors! I ordered a taro, lychee cake and it was good! Entire family enjoyed it and no complaints of it being to sweet. Plus side- everyone enjoyed the flavors! Will definitely be back to try other flavors! As far as pricing- I think it is pretty worth considering the quality. 6 inches- 2 flavors was 23. 8 in i think was 38 but if I need a cake in that size- I will definitely going back to order!
