Sweet Firefly

Wonderful ice cream!! It was delicious and creamy. It was the perfect melt point. I had the Texan chocolate. It was pepper and cinnamon with chocolate. It was so good. And there was so much ice cream with the small size. I couldn't imagine getting a larger size! Their waffle cones were tasty as well! They are located in a cute shopping center. There are great trees and benches and tables in the center. It was nice to people watch and enjoy our ice cream under the shade.

We saw that Sweet Firefly was among the Top 100 Ice Cream Shops on Yelp, and what a great find! The ice cream was fantastic. I asked for a recommendation of the best flavors, and the guy said Coffee Toffee Crunch and Sea Salt Caramel with no hesitation, and that’s what I got. We need to return to try the other ones. The service couldn’t be any better, super friendly; we felt welcomed as we entered the shop. There’s no question why this place ranked high on the top 100 national list.

Even after moving from Plano to Prosper, we still make the 20-minute drive just to enjoy their amazing cinnamon ice cream on a fresh waffle cone. 🍦 The flavor is rich, unique, and absolutely worth the trip every time. A must-visit for ice cream lovers!

Women owned business :) friendly staff and the ice cream is good, has a nice smooth milky texture. I got the kookie monster and lavender honey. You can get two flavors for the 1 scoop cup which is nice and the portion is still generous. The kookie monster flavor has large chunks of cookie dough. They also have shaved ice. No toppings tho which is kinda sad lol but overall very good

Came on a date night after being recommended it by a group of friends. Lover’s Quarrell (strawberries and Nutella) and chocolate was what we got, and it was very good and tasted homemade. Not really any options for toppings, but the base ice cream spoke strongly for itself. Not my favorite I’ve ever had, but a solid place and recommendation. Bonus points for the shopping center being so cute at night!

We went to Sweet Firefly for the first time and really enjoyed it. We got lavender honey, spoocular, beltline berry, and chocolate birthday cake flavors, and they were all delicious. The shop is in a quaint shopping center. The lights made the shopping center looked pretty at night. Highly recommend!

This place has some really good ice cream! The flavors were nice. Had the lemon vanilla and bourbon vanilla. Both were awesome. Tasted the banana pudding and honey lavender and they were pretty awesome!! Nice friendly staff.

I adore ice cream and this surpassed my expectations. The employees are funny and friendly; they’ll let you take your time and offer samples of anything you want to try. I absolutely loved the coffee toffee crunch and the dreamsicle flavors. The sizing is perfect and the baby is the exact amount I want to eat by myself. Do not skip this place, it’s absolutely a can’t miss place.

Great spot at night with the twinkling lights, only thing missing is a pond. Affordability: Heck Yes, in this day & age! What I Ordered... *Coffee Toffee Crunch: 4 Stars. Not your Vietnamese coffee level, but still a good level of caffeine & toffee crunch. Great flavor to pair with another. *Lovers' Quarrel: 5 Stars. Strawberry base with Chocolate Sauce & Nutella. Never one to order strawberry ice cream, but the velvet ribbons of Nutella swirled into it completely sold me. Sad to say I didn't mind losing this quarrel. Lol Overall, lost count how many times I've been here. Always a pleasure every time. Love how there are always new flavors coming in and going. Keeps customer loyalty & excitement. ** Cool Tip: Hot Cocoa served during winter season & Fresh Brewed Coffee! Flavors I wish they had: Coffee Oreo or Cookie Butter with Trader Joe's Cookie butter & Speculoos Cookies.

We've loved this place for 8 years and drive to Richardson to savor their artisanal flavors. Recently, their staff has changed (students going away to college etc) and the new crew isn't as vivacious and kind as the predecessors. The tall guy always scoops less and another very muscular African American guy is very surly. I miss the sweet kids that were there before but their ice cream is still pretty epic.

Love this place! It has my boyfriend's favorite ice cream, Sea Slat Caramel. He loves the one here more than anywhere else. Mine is a toss up between the Coffee Toffee Crunch and the classic Oreo. Always so creamy and filled with toppings. Staff is also super friendly every time I've visited. Not a lot of room to sit here but when they don't have parties in the back, I've seen them allow customers to sit there so it's nice. They do offer pints to buy and take home as well!! Pricing is great. Would highly recommend Sweet Firefly is you want to satisfy your sweet tooth

What a cute little ice cream store hidden in Richardson. I think this is very beloved ice cream store for residents or visitors to nearby restaurants. We only came here as our kiddos were craving ice cream after our dinner outing and this place was the closest from our restaurant and also on our way back home. Perfect location for us to try. Upon entering we noticed the cute little chalkboard on the counter seating area where guests are encouraged to leave some messages or their drawing. Very cute idea! We were greeted as soon as we entered and offered any assistance choosing our flavors. The menu offered a variety of ice cream flavors as we alls shaved ice. The kids chose mint chocolate, strawberry, double chocolate and caramel. They all enjoyed it and the price was unbeatable!!! Compare to other creameries or gelato places. The staff was phenomenal. So friendly and accommodating!! Wished it would be closer to our home. But this place and staff deserve 5 stars all the way!!!

Here's a HUGE 5 Star out of this world ice cream shop that is woman owned, local and original. Their ice cream is home made, churned on site and served by local teens. The owners are fantastic and teach valuable skills to their employees. Their training is customer-centric and also impresses the importance of respect first, team work, kindness and acceptance to all. My son, who is now 24, a father and husband, worked here all through high school and would return every break while he was home from Marquette university. Now he's a successful businessman, husband and dad. We return to Sweet Firefly as often as possible. My granddaughter recently turned one and we were so happy to have her first birthday party in their darling party room. The room was the perfect size, it had everything we needed, our team members were so attentive and helpful, they greeted the guests, ensured everyone had what they needed. Bonus? Everyone ordered their own yummy cones from the delicious selection. I wanted to share my thoughts because it's so rare now a days to have a consistently exceptional experience and be able to return again and again knowing you'll be treated like family and met with smiles. I highly recommend Sweet Firefly and hope you will give them a try soon!

The workers here are absolutely sweethearts!! They were extremely helpful and offered samples and recommendations. I don't quite recall all the flavors I tried, but the one that sticks out in my memory is the Lavender Honey. I absolutely loathe lavender in food, but surprisingly the lavender here wasn't that offensive. Out of all the lavender flavored foods that I've tried, this one was the best.

Decent selection of ice cream. About 19 dairy options and 4 non dairy. I got the sweet mama (2 scoops) with birthday cake on bottom and slowpoke on top. Slowpoke is a chocolate Salted Caramel with Pecan. It's a small location that can maybe seat 14 people at a time. I went with a group after eating dinner next door. There was 20 mins until close. It must've been a long and hard day because we did receive attitude from one of thebstaff regarding going to get ice cream so late. The motto is "were glad you're here", but we didn't feel it. Overall the ice cream was pretty good.

This was the CUTEST little ice cream shop. They have some traditional flavors and some unique ones! The cream was super sweet but man so good!

Came here on short notice with my sweetheart today, and boy was it a treat! Picture this it's a slightly cold overcast day out so naturally I thought what better thing to do than go get some ice cream. Jokes aside when we arrived on the scene the strip was quiet, and there wasn't really anyone around so we had quite the peaceful entrance. We walk in and are immediately greeted by a man who served us with an easy going presence coinciding well with the overall warm & cozy atmosphere of the shop and he got us taken care of right away. Within just a few minutes we received our ice cream, checked out, and were back in the car enjoying our cream. I got my lady a cone with "Mango Sorbet" & "Bourbon Vanilla" and likewise I got a cone but with "Sea Salt Caramel" & "Kooky Monster" I tried some of hers, she tried some of mine. Let me just say the flavors were incredible, and although i'm not one to eat ice cream all that much I can say with great certainty that this was some of the best ice cream i've ever had in my life from temperature to texture to even the sweetness it was all on point and i'll definitely be back to try other flavors!

My favorite ice cream place! Everything I tried was good but my fav flavors are sea salt and coffee toffee crunch. I drive down from McKinney all the way to Richardson for this treat. So far... none like Sweet Firefly!!

Best ice cream in the metroplex belongs to Sweet Firefly. I've tried many places, and none of them even come close to this place. I like ice cream shops that offer exciting, non traditional flavors. Sweet Firefly does that. I like ice cream shops with decent seating and an environment that's warm and inviting. Yep, that's them. I like ice cream shops that offer a consistent experience each visit. Again, that's Sweet Firefly. The flavors, portions and prices are perfect. It's tucked away in an easy to miss area of the Richardson suburbs, but everyone should visit.

A pretty good and very cute option for an ice cream place. I love that they make all of their own ice creams and have a variety of pretty fun flavors, but also have some normal ones as well. They also have non-dairy flavors and shaved ice too which I thought was a great addition for those who may not want ice cream.

Great homemade style ice cream. They also do UTD discounts in you are a student or staff. Staff here is GREAT. Literally they hire the most bubbly and smiley people ever. Feels like home. Also the exterior area has nice tables to sit outside, perfect date vibes. All their ice cream flavors are yummy, never too sweet.

Some of our favorite ice cream around - our family and my sister-in-law's family as well. Bourbon vanilla with cinnamon is maybe my favorite flavor combination. Nice people and I feel the portions are generous for what you choose, meaning the cup or cone size is filled generously. Pretty typical pricing, although definitely not the priciest. I'd say fair pricing for how great the ice cream is and how they load up whatever size you choose. Highly recommended.

Ice cream is creamier than average which I personally like. We tried Bourbon vanilla / Lavender honey / Salted caramel /Coffee toffee crunch. Not terribly sweet and quality flavors! Great location with big parking lot.

I have been going to this place since 2014; I definitely love this place. I occasionally order different pints online, and order pickup is always great. My favorite combination is bourbon vanilla and cinnamon.

Wow I love the flavors at this place! I got the Kooky Monster and Coffee Toffee Crunch and they were just what I like--flavorful with a crunchy texture from the cookie/toffee bits. They have a window that you can order from, so you never have to go inside--super COVID-safe! The lady was also very nice hehe. I will definitely be visiting here again!!

Oh my god. My friends and I make the 15 minute walk from the dorms for them. When we crave ice cream we all immediately think of Sweet Firefly. None of their flavors disappoint; best local ice cream shop here! Try the Lavender Honey flavor, you'll become addicted! Also, you're free to sample any of their flavors, and sometime they'll switch out some flavors, but you can always ask for it just in case it's just in the fridge or the back or whatever and they'll gladly get that flavor for you.

Good for an ice cream stop. However, their flavors are pretty plain. It's in a good location but not the same as Henry's or Tongue in cheek. Their ice cream cakes were good though.

They say money can't buy happiness, but it can buy ice cream, and that's basically the same thing. You're money buys a lot of happiness here! Their ice cream is seriously fantastic! My favorite flavors: Bourbon Vanilla - just what it abounds like Kookie Monster - soft-batch chocolate chip cookies in blue vanilla ice cream - a signature treat Mint Oreo - puts mint chip to shame There are so many more to chose from, and everyone has different favorites!

How can anyone not love the neighborhood homemade ice cream shop? Cinnamon, Oreo cookie, salted caramel, oh my! Plus the ice cream cakes, candies, and other treats make this a fun destination for all. We have been enjoying their ice cream for years. Whenever we are back in town, we always save room for dessert here Cute plaza in Canyon Creek with a small park with benches where everyone is sitting and enjoying their treats while the kids run around. A step back in town including their under $5 for 2 scoops. Support local businesses!

This is our go to ice cream store for DELICIOUS flavors. I get the Sweet Mama size in a cup with a waffle cone on top. YUM! The staff is always professional and friendly. Try it and enjoy a walk around the patio lighted courtyard with your ice cream. It's a fun family or date night stop. You'll be glad you did!

One of my favorite ice cream places in all of DFW. Kind of tucked away in Richardson, but when I am even relatively close, my car seems to want to head that way. Definitely good ice cream.

This is one of those places that you will crave and be willing to drive across town for. We drive here from Rowlett whenever we want homemade ice cream. I love that they make snowballs which are similar to the shaved ice treats that are served in Hawaii. It's a layer of shaved ice with your choice of flavoring and then a layer of homemade ice cream. It's absolutely delicious! Each day the ice cream flavors change because they're all homemade. Two of today's flavors were Chocolate Orange and Wild Berry. It's always so hard to choose. They now have a walk up window so you can see the selection of ice creams and order at the window. There is seating outside and a park like area with benches just across the way. Give them a try and let's keep this local business going strong!

We LOVE Sweet Firefly ice cream!! Follow them on Instagram and Facebook and you can see all the flavors available. During this time of COVID 19 and "social distancing" it is so easy to place your order for some amazing ice cream pints! Just text your order (or any questions) to 214-405-4718 and then they will hand pack your ice cream for you! I gave my credit card information and what color/make of your car over the phone. Pick up couldn't be any easier - park in the handicap parking spot in front, put on your hazard lights and they will place your order on the bench. After they go back inside, you can get your bag of deliciousness ! Don't forget to leave a tip!

The first ice cream place where I finished my entire cup of ice cream and wish I had more! The flavors were amazing and not too overbearingly sweet. I got the Sweet Mama (single scoop) but with 2 flavors! The scoop size was pretty big overall. The flavors changed often but the cashier was super friendly and helpful with flavor pairings. She really knew her stuff and may have even been the owner! I got the Banana pudding + chocolate chip. My friend let me try her lavender honey and I will be coming back to get more of that soon! For the pandemic, they set up a nice little window where you can order from outside. There is a cute little sitting area with tables and benches across the street from here and its lit up at night. Super cute date night!

Such ridiculously good ice cream. I cannot say which flavor is my favorite because each one is such a burst of sweet happy, happy, joy, joy! I love that it's right next to Shady's because Sweet Firefly is seriously the perfect compliment after having a juicy burger. Beware: massive food coma!

Sweet Firefly is my one and only go-to for delicious ice cream. I absolutely love the texture and flavors they offer each time. I especially come back for their bourbon vanilla, honey lavender, and sorbets. You can get it in a cone or cup! They even offer snow cones (I haven't personally had those yet because I'm not a fan of snow cones) but I am sure it is as delicious. All their ice creams are store-made. They have seasonal flavors as well as ones that they have consistently. FYI, they do half-scoops, so you can pick 2 flavors for sweet mama, 4 flavors for sweet daddy etc. There's really nothing I can say against Sweet Firefly. It is a perfect little shop that have won over my heart. I come here anytime I'm craving some gourmet ice cream and I'm more than satiated each time. Sometimes during their busy hours/days, seating is pretty limited and it might become cramped up inside the store with long lines and customers. Thankfully, there is a really beautiful "mini-park" area just across the lot with more space and benches under the shade of trees and lights that are lit up at night. So, bring your family! Bring your friends!! Sweet Firefly won't disappoint :-)

My favorite local ice cream shop! Compliments: They have so many yummy homemade flavors. My ultimate favorite flavor is their birthday cake - it has sprinkles and vanilla cake chunks! Other flavors that are absolutely delightful are bourbon vanilla, kooky monster, beltline berry, and lemon vanilla. I've never tried their cones, but they look fresh. Complaints: They rotate flavors so some flavors may not be available on certain days. Not a lot of seats and space. Sweet Firefly can get packed around nighttime and weekends and it's an impossible mission to find even standing space.

We love this place! Great ice cream, lots of flavors and the best friendly service. My favorite flavor is the lavender honey.

I need to write a poem about the scoop of Lemon Vanilla I enjoyed at Sweet Firefly, but I'm crap at writing poems. Let's just say it was amazing. Lightly lemon. Lightly vanilla. Altogether tasty, slightly sweet and not too rich. It was the most perfectly perfect lemon vanilla anything I've ever had and now I want another scoop. As for the husband, he'd tell you the peach cobbler and bourbon vanilla are both delicious too. And what was cool was getting a half scoop of each for the nice price of a single scoop. How can you not be happy here?

They rightfully added the word "Gourmet" to their store name. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed all the flavors we purchased from them and highly recommend giving this place a chance! A few of my family members are super picky and even they were absolutely taken by the flavor and freshness of their ice cream. The taste was truly AMAZING! We will certainly be back!!!

Great experience at Sweet Firefly! The two guys working were very nice and explained all the flavors to us. My husband and I got a scoop of the birthday cake and the Andes mint valentine flavor. Both were great but the birthday cake stood out for sure. Also the waffle cone was worth the extra price!

I love this local gem the ice cream is good they make it homemade they have shaved ice which my grandson loves because he is not a ice cream guy but he does like their Cookie Monster ice cream there so very friendly and we are very lucky to have them and Richardson the service is amazing

The ice cream is good, but the prices are a bit too high. If you are comfortable spending a lot on ice cream I'd recommend it. If you are a bit budget conscience this isn't the ice cream place for you.

I love the window service & how close it is to my home. I'm anemic & I constantly crave ice but have some very sensitive / bad teeth I can't afford to fix at the moment- their ice is excellent! So easy to chew & help with cravings. They have great flavors & the tigers blood is on point! Sometimes I go with just plain ice to share with my toddler but even that's exquisite! 10/10 if they aren't open I drive all the way to Plano to the next sno own place but I prefer one close by like this. Awesome customer service they're so kind and always smiling.

I like that they let you try a lot of flavors before you choose.All of their ice cream tasted really good too. It was small inside with only a few tables so we took our ice cream and sat outside on some park benches under the trees.
