Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint

We visited this place while staying in Jekyll Island. The food was so good, and the service was fantastic, so we went back a second time. Had the chicken and waffles and they were amazing!!! I think I could have eaten just the waffles because they were so good, but the breading on the chicken was fantastic. Also had their smoked wings and they were great. Super juicy and the taste was fantastic. They make some amazing drinks. And the staff just makes you feel so welcome there. Incredible Food + awesome drinks + fantastic service + cute atmosphere and fun music = 'winner winner chicken dinner'.

I really, really liked this restaurant, but it's fairly new and has a few kinks to work out yet. Gumbo was delicious but not served hot, one bacon wrapped shrimp, (also delicious) wasn't flipped on the grill so wasn't cooked all the way, but the flavors were amazing and I have high hopes and great expectations. Update 7-30-22 Owing to the paucity of options on the island and the amazing blues being played on the back porch of the restaurant, I revisited Sweet Georgia's. I'm glad I did because the chef has settled into a groove as smooth as the music. I was amazed by the pulled pork sandwich and stuffed by the portion size. The roll it came on was perfect, the meat was tender & slightly sweet the way hog can sometimes be with just right smokiness.

You guys need to get there ASAP and more like RIGHT NOW!! Went two weekends in a row! The only thing I'm mad about is not knowing that this location was tucked away on Jekyll Island. Dined al fresco and enjoyed the cajun crab dip, chicken & waffles (absolutely phenomenal), southern fried chicken with crazy good macaroni and cheese and collard greens on the side. For dessert, the peach cobbler is highly recommended. The seafood gumbo is also some of the best I've ever had. Everything was served seasoned and very hot! Just lick the bowl clean (greedy😋). They won't say a word if you do. The staff is very nice and engaging. Will definitely go back for a third trip very soon for the live music!!

Visited on a Sunday, food was really good. We tried the bacon wrapped shrimp and the Cajun crab dip for our appetizers. Both were good, especially the dip!!! We almost ordered a 2nd dip. For our main dish, 2 of our kids ordered the Juke burger with the steak fries and the burger was good. Our oldest son tried the gumbo with a side of Mac and cheese and it was good. I tried the shrimp and grits and it was good and my husband did the ribs with a side of Mac and cheese. The ribs were ok, but still good. The Mac and cheese was really good. The location was very nice too! Looking forward to coming back again if we’re ever in the area.

We had a great service. The bartender and our waitress was amazing. Food was delish. We had plenty left over and ate later on that day and it was still delish. Place is beautiful and whoever picked out the playlist knows great music. We'll definitely return whenever we are on the island. Ps. The only negative is the gratuity charge. It was pretty large lump sum.

Our food was good, but a bit pricey. The staff was very friendly and our food came quick and hot. We sat outside to enjoy the breeze from the ocean. There's a QR code on the tables to view the menu on your phone and place your order. Parking was plentiful and right near an outdoor mall.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is very clean and well-designed. Our food was freshly prepared and served hot. The Shrimp and Grits was the best I’ve had. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the macaroni and cheese recipe was excellent. We will definitely return. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

It is a short staffed and apparently a fairly new joint. The juke box has great selection. The place is lively with lots of upside. The food was good. I had the fried chicken. The staff is stretched thin, but good. I hope they succeed. They have a lot of upside.
