Yelp
I was out and about in Murray, and craving something sweet. I pretty well know my options in the area, but I decided to check Yelp, and as so wonderfully happens sometimes, there was a new business I had never heard of! Sweet Hazel popped up, and after a quick perusal of the website and Instagram, I knew I needed some of her sugar!
As a sucker for chocolates, my attention was immediately drawn to the special Valentine's Day Box. Though it was the day following the holiday, I crossed my fingers there might be some left. To place an order, you request it on the website (payment is not required at that time), and can input when you would like to pick it up, as well as any other special requests. With little hope, I asked if they had any of those chocolates left, and sent my message.
They responded right away, but I did not see it until a half hour later so responded then, and then I got a response a few hours after that. Not a big deal though, and I was so pleased because there was a single box left (like it was meant for me!) and some cookie dough truffles, too! All in all, I was able to order and pick up the same day, a couple hours after requesting. Not too shabby! Now, for cakes and baked goodies (you read that right, they are really more of a bakery!), I am sure you will need to allow additional days, but it is nice to know ready-made treats may be obtainable on the same day.
Check SH's website and Instagram for a more detailed idea of what they offer, but basically there are a couple chocolate candy type things, and many baked goods beyond just cake: tiramisu, cannolis, pies, muffins, etc. Oh, and did I forget to mention it is all vegan?! As on omnivore, I can report these had no discernible difference from standard candy, and that is really saying something! Some items are available gluten free, and it sounds like they are happy to accommodate custom requests, too.
Now back to my treats! All of the chocolates were good to great, with the caramel reigning supreme. This is going to sound weird, but it had this almost elastic quality that I really enjoyed! I also adored the cookie dough truffles. Not only were they a perfect replication of that favorite of forbidden treats, but the shimmery glitter covered hearts were gorgeous! The chocolate is lovely (traceable!) Callebaut, and the sort of dark that is mild and close to milk in it's sweetness, but decidedly still dark. I dig it!
Prices seemed similar to other bakeries, and in some cases, a little better. I paid via Venmo. For pick up, SH's entrance is on the side of the building. Fee, who assisted me with my order, was so nice and a pleasure to work with. I will absolutely be back to try the Peanut Butter Cups, Snix, and Crunchies. I need more of that glorious caramel in my life!
