For our wedding, we wanted something unique. When talking to Heather Anne a couple of months ago about this idea, we knew right then that she could make it come to life... and boy, did she DELIVER! We absolutely LOVED the cake and so did our guests. It was truly a magnificent piece and I still can't get over how beautiful it was. Thank you so much for working with us and making this dream come to life!

If you're looking for a wedding cake, look no further. We only gave SHA one inspiration pic because we couldn't find a cake we liked better - until we saw the one they made for us!!! I seriously can't believe how beautiful it was and how much thought they put into it. The flowers they used were the ones we had at our wedding! It was the perfect amount of intricacy and simplicity. And the flavor!!! Not only beautiful, but absolutely delicious. We chose a lemon lavender cake and it was excellent. Many of our friends and family complimented how good it was. Seriously - could not be happier. Worth every penny.

We absolutely loved our wedding cake!! We did a vanilla praline with apricot jam filling. So yummy! Everyone was so kind specially when we had to postpone and move our date. the bakery was flexible and professional! Would highly recommend them and will use for future events. This cake was everything I could have hoped for and more! The custom signature vintage cake was the perfect option to help me celebrate a golden birthday! I cannot recommend Sweet Heather Anne enough for all your cake needs! When we got engaged, I knew as soon as I saw Sweet Heather Anne's cakes that they were the only cake baker we could possibly have for our wedding. Their cakes are personal, incredibly beautiful, and unbelievably delicious. They are also amazing to work with! We were supposed to get married in May, 2020 but had to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic. Sweet Heather Anne was super accommodating throughout this whole process and even made us a complimentary mini-cake on our original wedding date! I cannot wait for the full-size cake in October!!!

Sweet Heather Anne is actually the some of the most delicious wedding cake you will ever eat! And (more importantly to brides), they were so easy to work with from our first meeting. We met and they sketched the design for our cake, then got to taste 4 flavors, and we had thorough communication throughout the planning process to make the big day stress free. We ended up having less guests last minute and they were able to work with our changes in the week or two before the wedding. They independently talked with my vendor and florist to make it a smooth process. We had chocolate salted caramel and lemon raspberry... would recommend!

We used sweet heather anne for our wedding cake in the fall of 2023. The process to create our perfect cake was so easy and one of the most fun part of the process! When we chose our flavors they had a super cute setup for us at their shop in Ann Arbor with little mini cakes to try based on the flavors we preferred and even had mini cakes for us to take home! They hand drew the cake right in front of us which was unexpected and so much fun to work through with their cake designer. From there they got to work and had everything set and ready to go for us on the wedding day. They even have an option to save the top tier or they will make you a new cake for your first anniversary. We opted for the new cake :) It was a pleasure working with them and we would recommend!

I wish I could give Sweet Heather Anne way more than five stars! For my birthday this year, I ordered a cake from them during their summer sale, and my family and I love it so much! My dad actually said "this is the most perfect cake I've ever had." I chose their chocolate cake/pistachio buttercream option, and it is absolutely delightful. The chocolate cake is perfectly moist, and the perfect amount of decadence so that it is never too much. The pistachio buttercream and the outer buttercream of the cake are both excellent - light, airy, and never too sweet. I can really taste the freshness of the pistachios in the pistachio buttercream! I've also never had a cake that cuts as wonderfully as this one does - I used a butter knife and it slid through the cake like butter and made picture perfect slices. The online order process for this cake was quick and easy, and my cake was ready on time. Furthermore, their cake shop is super fun to visit and all the staff are exceptionally kind. Look no further for all of your cake needs - my family will definitely be coming back! Thank you Sweet Heather Anne!

Sweet Heather Anne baked the wedding cake for my Wife and I wedding in 2018. We elected to have the cake in two different flavors which were Vanilla Praline and Raspberry Rose. It tasted excellent and looked even better. We were very happy with the outcome. Their business also offered a free cake on the first anniversary of our marriage. Due to life happening, were not able to contact them in 2019 which was a year after we got married. I contacted them a few weeks ago as our 3rd anniversary was coming up and if it was still an option to receive the cake on our anniversary. Due to Covid, they were only taking email communication. They responded quickly and said that it would be no problem with providing us with our complimentary anniversary cake. We thought that this was such a nice gesture, especially after everything going on nowadays. Sweet Heather Anne will continue to get our business in the future. Thanks again!

While living in Kerrytown, I frequently drove past Sweet Heather Anne, which ultimately drew my curiosity to their Instagram page. There I discovered their beautiful cakes and other tasty-looking creations. Although I had never tried a single one of their desserts, I knew that Sweet Heather Anne was going to be my destination for my wedding cake. Once engaged, I scheduled a tasting for my husband and I. Prior to the tasting, we were asked to select four of their flavors. At the tasting, we were served slices of cake and talked to one of the designers about our vision. We knew that we wanted a smaller cake and lots of other goodies to create a dessert table spread. She sketched out the cake and we selected the types of display glassware we would like to see at our event. YES! Sweet Heather Anne does not just dump beautiful desserts at your venue, they create a stunning display on beautiful cake stands and other crystal plates and containers. To our delight, the tasting cakes were generously sized and we got to take plenty of leftovers home where we finalized our cake and dessert spread. We decided on chocolate chocolate top and strawberry vanilla bottom for our cake. We were serving both layers to our guests. Sweet Heather Anne offers the option of a new cake top for your 1-year anniversary! While we still froze two pieces, we definitely wanted to enjoy a fresh cake on our anniversary. We also opted for chocolate salted caramel mini cupcakes - GET THESE! Chocolate sea salt cookies - THESE TOO! And, two types of macarons. For macaron flavors, no official list exists - You can literally let your imagination run wild. We were offered some guidance when we asked for suggestions. We ultimately went with a purple-colored raspberry and gray-colored Earl Grey tea flavor (purple and gray were "our colors"). OMG! That tea flavored macaron was off the charts! For all this, we thought the price points very reasonable, particularly given the level of service. On our wedding day, all of the desserts were a total hit. The level of service and quality at Sweet Heather Anne is unmatched and I give them the highest recommendation!

I can't believe that I have never reviewed this place. I have taken a few classes here that have been great and I've gotten things at their weekend bakery counter. During the Stay Home order, they had a cookie decorating kit that included baked cookies and icing to decorate them. They also had a Quarantine Cake Club. The April cake was a chocolate malted milk cake. Very, very delicious! I'm looking forward to the May cake. Hopefully, in June you will be too busy doing wedding cakes to have the Quarantine Cake Club.

everyone here are gifted artists! The beauty they create from frosting is mind-boggling! I had a beautiful cake made for my granddaughters Grad party. It was so beautiful it served as a center piece for awhile! The taste was fabulous as well!

It's been amazing seeing how so many businesses have made changes to their models to adapt given the pandemic, and Sweet Heather Anne has been truly inspirational. When you're primarily a wedding and special events bakery and the wedding and special events industry essentially grinds to a halt you'd expect them to shut their doors, but not SHA! During the height of shelter in place they created cookie kits to entertain kids and families with sweet treats, they created a "pay it forward" initiative to send cakes of gratitude to healthcare workers, they've created a quarantine cake club to join where you can get a delicious and unique cake from them once a month, and they've expanded their offerings of signature cakes you can order from them a couple of days in advance to mark special occasions like small weddings, birthdays, graduations, etc. Just because 100+ events aren't happening right now doesn't mean you can't celebrate milestones in more intimate ways and they're helping folks do that. It's lovely. Being an amature baker and cake decorator I usually make all the cakes for family functions but when my mom and grandma's birthdays rolled around this month my pandemic anxiety/depression fatigue prevented me from having the energy to make something special. So, I went to Sweet Heather Anne's website and promptly placed an order for a raspberry rose buttercream flower cake and my husband picked it up, curbside, a couple of days later. The cake was, as expected, completely gorgeous and tasted even better. I may have also added a couple of cake cups to our ordered to get my chocolate fix in. YUM! This September marks my husband and I's 5th wedding anniversary and though we can't celebrate with a big trip as we had planned, you'd better believe we'll be placing an order for a cake to celebrate. I look forward to indulging in it, just as we had with all our friends and family 5 years ago. Times are weird and hard but good food truly does bring comfort and a lot of joy.

Picked up two cakes in a cup to share with my fiance. We are trying to help local places out during the quarantine and I'm so glad I picked up these sweets!!! Basically they are cake and frosting extras in a little tub. SOOOOOO DELICIOUS! We don't need a whole cake sitting around and I was able to get two different flavors. The strawberry frosting is to die for!!! Tastes like fresh berries. And the chocolate??? Well let's just say i took more than my share :) Business is easy to pass by on the north side of town, but easy to get to from the expressway. I will definitely keep an eye on this place, especially with wedding plans in the works.

We selected sweet heather Anne because they were the preferred vendor for our venue waterview loft. We were not disappointed! The staff was very flexible and open to our vision of what we wanted. They worked with us so that we were able to stay within our budget for the number of guests we had which almost never happens in the wedding planning process. So it was refreshing to leave there not hemorrhaging money. They also have a large variety of flavors to choose from. We went with pumpkin maple in a sheet cake and strawberry vanilla in our main actual cake. We also received a free cake in our wedding cake flavor on our 1 year anniversary! This was great because the idea of a year old frozen cake top was not something we wanted to do. The only downside was we were told there wouldn't be any cardboard between our cake layers on our wedding day after there was cardboard in our cake tasting cakes. Sure enough, their was cardboard on our wedding day. So it made it really awkward when we went to cut the cake and couldn't get through it. However it was a minor detail and we still got to enjoy it.

By far the best cakes in Washtenaw County! I purchased a Signature Macaron to be delivered on May 30th to celebrate a special occasion that has to be rescheduled due to COVID restrictions. It showed up promptly and in perfect condition, looking exactly as beautiful as advertised. Even the smaller cakes have the taste quality and detailing of an expensive wedding cake. Thank you Sweet Heather Anne for helping my fiancé and I celebrate our wedding day at home!

These cakes have no rival in the Ann Arbor area, and likely even the state. I particularly recommend their chocolate chocolate cake, but you really can't go wrong. Their macarons are the softest, airiest most flavorful example you'll find this side of the Atlantic. This business is still operating despite COVID - and what a treat it is! Whether you choose to have your cake delivered or to pick it up, their staff is friendly & professional. Their prices are reasonable considering that you are getting an artisan cake - so it doesn't matter if you are celebrating a birthday, wedding, or just making it through the week, a cake from this establishment is likely not out of your budget. Pay them a visit; you won't regret it.

I popped in yesterday to pick up a curbside order. Ordering online was a breeze! The checkout process was easy and seamless. Whenever I travel to Ann Arbor, especially with young kids, I'm always nervous about parking and the lengths I may have to go through to lug my kids around to pick up items. Sweet Heather Anne's is right off the freeway and has ample parking in the rear. I simply pulled into a spot, called, and my order was delivered right to my car! The cookie decorating kit I had ordered was packaged perfectly, taste amazing, and was a lot of fun.

Just visited their dessert counter to pick up their Thanksgiving holiday cookie set! The cookies looked beautiful. The water color sugar cookies were especially pretty and tasty. However, the macarons were kind of crunchy, not really what I was expecting.

Sweet Heather Anne is located just a little off the UM campus. The shop is quaint and cute, decorated by a variety of wedding cake designs, biscuits, and macaron gift boxes. I ordered a 6" peanut butter chocolate crunch cake off of their Easter menu. The buttercream was soft and tasted subtly of peanut butter. The quality of the layer of chocolate ganache was good, especially in Ann Arbor, but could be better compared to cakes from Patisserie Tony Wong in Hong Kong. The macarons on the cake could be better and leans towards the harder side. But overall, I'm sold by how gorgeous the cake is and the slash of watercolor that decorated the exterior of it. The cake was reasonably priced and could feed at least 8 people. Would definitely come back and try their cake-in-a-jar next time!

I've had cake from here multiple times now. The cakes are pretty. Service is fine. But the last time, the cake itself didn't taste as fresh. A bit dry and almost too crumbly as if the cake had been previously frozen or a bit older. The icing and filling were really good, though.

I love Sweet Heather Anne. I have gotten several cakes and macaroon orders from here. The women that work here are always so friendly and their cakes are just amazing. Their buttercream is perfect- not too sugary, the perfect balance! Their macaroons are always perfect amount of crunch and softness. They also sell AMAZING salted chocolate chip cookies. I can't recommend them enough! Thank you to everyone on the Sweet Heather Anne's team for so many amazing and fantastic desserts!

Our cake was a masterpiece, a site to behold and exactly what we wanted: no one would politely turn away a slice on our magical night. It had to be a must-have. Meeting this dynamic duo was a treat from the start. We knew of their commitment to only seasonal, fresh, local and all quality ingredients going into the tasting, but we had no sense of their vast imagination. They swiftly concepted a design that reflected details from my dress and surprises for my groom, given that he of course would not be seeing my dress in advance. So, that was something amazing to anticipate, along with their tapping into the floral at Planterra Conservatory, our venue, and our palette. The cake literally delighted everyone in attendance. We incorporated two flavors, as well. Our cake was unforgettable inside and out. Still the subject of the post-wedding chatter (its quality, flavor and gorgeousness of simple mirroring detail). How often do hear this? I'd say nearly never.

Our wedding cake from Sweet Heather Anne was amazing. They were one of the preferred cake vendors for our wedding venue, Waterview Loft, and I was so excited because I had been following them on Instagram for years, just because they were a local bakery making beautiful cakes. It was super easy to set up our free tasting with four flavors online, and when we decided to add a fifth flavor at the last second, they easily set that up for us, for an additional $10. Our tasting/design appointment was hands down my favorite vendor meeting of all wedding planning. We got mini cakes of each of the flavors we chose in advance, with plenty leftover for us to take home and enjoy later. We easily decided on Raspberry Rose and Caramel Praline, which were unique and delicious. Then we got into the designing. I brought inspiration photos from cakes we both liked, and I explained to the designer Katie that I thought the embroidery on my dress might make a cool design. She got really excited and sketched out this unique cake based on my dress and accented with flowers from our bouquets/centerpieces, all while keeping the picture of the dress hidden from my fiancé who wanted my dress to be a surprise to him. It was such a fun, delicious, and customized vendor meeting- I left feeling giddy. After we left I had no further communication with Sweet Heather Anne because they took care of everything without needing any further direction or input from me, which is great when you're planning a wedding with a million things to keep track of. On our wedding day, they delivered the cake, set it up, and decorated it with flowers provided by our floral vendor. The only sad thing is I never saw them in person the day of the wedding to thank them for our beautiful cake! We will be back for our free mini cake on our one-year anniversary so we can re-live our Sweet Heather Anne deliciousness!

Popped by their dessert counter and bought a slice of the adorable raspberry rose cake for $7. So delicious and crumbly--not overly sweet either! Their dessert counter is absolutely dreamy and the lady that I talked with was so warm and kind!

Wedding cake tastings are incredibly overpriced at this bakery. The quality of the cake and buttercream is less than ideal. They do make pretty cakes, but they are dry & frosting is much too dense and oily.

If your looking for a fun bachelorette party, this is it! I haven't been to a traditional class at Sweet Heather Ann but I assume that they are just as fabulous. Heather is smart sweet and accommodating and it is a great group activity. Everyone leaves with delicious cookies! I would also recommend SHA's dessert counter. I can't get enough of the macarons! I always make sure to stop in for some when I am in Ann Arbor.

Sweet Heather Anne was AMAZING. I didn't know what to expect, having never worked with a bakery before my wedding, but they were wonderful. They were very friendly, responsive and professional. Their talent was also truly astonishing. My husband and I had a constellation themed wedding with navy and gold colors. We asked them if they could make a tiered "constellation-inspired" cake. Not only were they not put off by our strange request, they wanted to know if we wanted specific constellations and even came up with a beautiful idea for the top that fit perfectly. See the pictures. They should speak for themselves. Additionally, their cakes delicious!!! We had chocolate chocolate and raspberries & cream. My husband and I got another taste of the cake this September when we picked up our complimentary anniversary cake. It was even better tasting than we remembered : ) I would highly, highly recommend this bakery for a wedding or large event. Also, their smaller baked goods, including their cookies and cake-in-a-jar, are really good too!

I love the artistic design of their cakes. I have never tried any of their cakes before. I decided to go to their dessert counter to buy the macaron for gift. The service was nice the store was pretty. However the macaron and chocolate chip cookies were very disappointing. I am not expecting to get macaron of the level of Ladure in Ann Arbor because that will be unfair. I tried many macarons before and there were many hit and miss from just across the stores. So, I decide to buy 1 $2 macaron along with one box of macaron for a gift. But this macarons are just off. The texture was too hard (cookie hard). It was as if you bite into a biscuit. While the macaron that I know of are supposed to be crispy shell but then soft in the middle. The cream should be more buttery and not runny. I am not sure if this is another version of macaron that I am just not familiar with, but to me it is just way off. The salted chocolate chip cookies that I tried are rock hard. I am definitely having a buyer remorse and wish I can return the purchase for the gift set macaron that I bought.

I will start my review by saying that I am a "cake snob" since I did previously work in a bakery. Also, I am more about having the cake taste amazing than look amazing. Fortunately, Sweet Heather Anne was able to accomplish both with my wedding cake. For the cake flavors, we chose the almond apricot, the Mexican spiced chocolate and the lemon Damson plum. Our design was simple but beautiful. I could not have been more pleased with the final product.

Reading all the positive reviews on WeddingWire.com truly blew my mind. After a little investigating I found that a vendor can remove any unwanted review from WeddingWire, thus providing the facade of perfection. I find it is horribly bad business practice to remove unpleasant but honest reviews and shows how unopened to criticism this establishment truly must be. Here's what I originally stated on WeddingWire: I sampled cake from here and honestly couldn't recommend it to anyone. The consistency and texture of the cake is very close to a dense bread. As off-putting as that sounds, it gets worse. Not even the frosting could salvage this bland disappointment. Literally it tastes like the cake is covered in pure lard. It doesn't matter which "flavor" you order, there's barely a difference in taste between the frostings--aside from the toppings they coat them in. The cakes looked so good, if only I could eat them with eyes. Sweet Heather Anne, my palette deserves an apology! I have been meaning to give this place a try for quite a while now. I was so excited that I remembered to stop by on Fri. because, they only have counter hours on Fri. (10-6) and Sat. (9-2) I was so looking forward to sampling a piece of her cake and hoping to be able to use this place as a local cake maker for events. Alas, she said they had no cake!! She had baked one cake for the counter and it was already sold out. I was so disappointed because, it was only about 1:30 pm and they were still suppose to be open until 6 pm. I mean I would completely understand if I arrived 10 minutes before 6 pm and they were all out of an item but to arrive when they have only been open for a few hours and then be told that they are already sold out of their main item....what a disappointment. So instead I ordered a cookie, macaroon, and brownie. The cookie was a little dry but, had a great chewiness to it and a good flavor. Overall I would give their cookies another chance. The macaroon had too much filling and the shell was dry. Overall, I would not order their macaroons again. The brownie...well to be fair it didn't get eaten for 3 days.....so I think I will probably stop by again (this time earlier) sample their cake, cookies, and give their brownies another shot. Their cake decorations are just so stunningly beautiful online; I'm really hoping their cake baking technique matches their decorating skill. Will update when I make it back up there. :)

I ordered an engagement cake from Sweet Heather Anne recently and the whole experience could not have gone better! Let me start by saying that I am ALL ABOUT cake. After many hours of watching cake shows on TV and even working in a cake decorating studio one summer I had really high expectations when ordering my very own fancy cake. Heather was incredibly friendly and receptive of my ideas about an engagement cake based on the movie "Up." In the end the cake looked amazing. You could tell that there was a great deal of artistic thought put into the design, especially the great color choices. The fondant work was impeccable (very important to me!) and the figures on top were just perfect. Finally, the whole thing tasted amazing too! Everyone at the party was impressed and happy. Hooray!

After using Sweet Heather Anne for several other events, we also hired them to make our wedding cakes. We were beyond pleased! The cakes were delicious and made for some beautiful photos. Can't wait to use Sweet Heather Anne again!!

I hate to do this to a small business, but j was so disappointed in the cookies here. I am really into cookies and I bought a mixed dozen for my family Christmas party. They were beautifully presented snd yet some of the worst cookies I've ever had. The ginger/chocolate was a weird combination that did not work. The Mexican shortbread were soooo dry, and these are usually a favorite for me. The chocolate stars were like burnt brownies. Giving two stars only because the presentation was pretty and the iced sugar cookies weren't bad. Hopefully their cakes are good!

I had a wonderful experience working with Sweet Heather Anne for our wedding cake. When I first found out that a creative cake place had come to Ann Arbor, I was anxious to try them out for our upcoming wedding. From the tasting to the consultation, everything was perfect. Since my husband couldn't attend the tasting, they even offered to pack up extra samples for me to bring home. We also inquired about the dessert table options and they sent us home with a complimentary box full of all their goodies. We loved the Mexican shortbread and macaroons! For our cake, we had it split between chocolate buttercream with chocolate cake (super rich and perfect for a chocolate lover) and raspberry buttercream with vanilla cake (fresh raspberry puree in the frosting). Yes, their cakes are denser than your commercial grocery store cakes or even some traditional bakeries, but this is what sets them apart from everyone else. With a variety of gourmet cupcakeries here in Houston, Sweet Heather Anne's cake style is very similar and would easily be able to compete with the best of the best. They pride themselves on using local ingredients, sort of a farm to table cake experience. I can't say enough great things about this bakery. They are definitely focused on custom work, but are absolutely great at what they do. During the entire process, they kept clear communication with me about payment deadlines, questions I had about delivery, changes I wanted made to the design, etc. The cake turned out perfect and we received so many compliments on it!

I love this place! The flavors are so delicious and well composed, the ingredients are awesome, and the best part is they really care about giving you what you want.

I highly recommend the macaron workshop with Claudia at Sweet Heather Anne. She is a lively, friendly, and witty teacher who gave us a variety of information and tips on materials and techniques not only for macarons but for other aspects of baking. The atmosphere was friendly and informal, and the class was a good blend of demonstration and participation. We each left with 24 of the most amazingly beautiful and delicious macarons - praline, pistachio, and chai spice.

The ladies at Sweet Heather Anne were a true pleasure to work with. I was able to set everything up through email, which was very helpful when planning a wedding and working full time. It was easy to send picture ideas and I always received fast responses. At the taste testing and vision planning we had a great time going over ideas for the cake, and they were so helpful! I was so excited to see the outcome of the cake! On the wedding day when my Groom and I walked into the reception tent I kept saying "I just want to see the cake!" It was a surprise for him so he was excited as well! We went right over to the cake table and were both in complete awe! It was the most amazing cake we had ever seen. It was the perfect surprise for my groom! We didn't want to cut it at all, at least we have the pictures. We were receiving compliments all night over the cake. Everyone was telling us it was the most amazing cake they have ever seen at a wedding and how it was so "us". I am so happy and couldn't thank them enough for making our wedding cake so memorable.

Honestly, I am SHOCKED by these other reviews of poor service. I cannot give Heather and the staff at Sweet Heather Anne high enough praise! They are truly amazing and made my day so special and joyous. For my wedding on May 12, I ordered cupcakes (mexican spiced chocolate, strawberry vanilla, carrot ginger, and caramel praline crunch), a top layer cake, groom's cake, as well as cookies for favors. Each item was absolutely delicious and my guests did not stop complimenting the sweets! As for the groom's cake, I gave Heather a few ideas and she went above and beyond to make the most AWESOME lego cake in the shape of a block M (go blue!). My husband was stunned and said he cannot wait to order another custom cake from her. Furthermore, my sister purchased cake truffles from SHA for my bridal shower and they were unbelievable! I go to SHA on Fridays just to get more. I'd also like to mention that Rachel, the business administrator, is so professional and provides such quick responses! I had the pleasure of ordering two cakes from Sweet Heather Anne. One cake was for my 3 year old son which was Thomas the train and one for my oldest daughter that were born on same day and they made a frozen cake. The appearance was very neat and looked very professional. They were two different flavors and the taste and texture were to die for. The staff treated me excellent and kept me well imformed on my purchases. I will recommend these professionals to everyone i know.By the way they have a desert counter that serves cookies and other deserts. My husband and I hired Sweet Heather Anne to make our wedding cakes and we were completely blown away. We had to communicate with their staff mostly over the phone because we live in California but they were more than accommodating and a pleasure to work with overall. When it came to the cake tasting all I can say is YUM! Every flavor was incredible! We ended up choosing the Mexican spiced chocolate and the damson plum. We came up with a design idea which they easily turned into reality and made a large center cake with trees and adorable little birds on top and they then made 4 smaller butter cream cakes with varying designs on them, they all turned out impeccably and people at the wedding could not say enough great things about the presentation and the taste. The only thing I would take away stars for is that it is a bit pricey, however you are paying for amazing quality and in the end it really made our day that much more special and was well worth the extra money.
