13 Hidden Restaurants in Waikiki, Honolulu | Eater

"Even when it’s warm out, locals say bring it on to hot pot. Just look at the consistently packed Sweet Home Cafe, which feels like a sauna with all the roiling pots. Compose your pot in three steps, beginning with a choice of broths that range from sour cabbage, tinged with tamarind, to healthy herbs, reminiscent of Chinese medicine but actually delicious. Serve yourself from the fridge, where a plethora of ingredients include spinach-tofu and roe-filled fish balls, then face excruciating decisions at the sauce bar (you can only carry so many tiny dishes at once). Finally, dive in — but eat quickly. After an hour, a bowl of free shave ice, packed as joyfully as an unbridled hot pot, is plunked in front of you. It’s the sweetest way for the servers to tell guests to chill out and move on. [$$]" - Martha Cheng

Great hotpot and great service!! So many broths to choose from. Lots of good side dishes as well. Their beef, lamb, and shrimp were good. Didn't have any other proteins. Veggies were fresh and clean. Beer was cheap. What more can you ask for!

Love this cafe! Very interesting concept! You can choose a few different broths and ingredients to create your own soup. It’s not just eating, it’s an entertainment. Really cool place to spend time with friends.

We found this place by accident, but it was one of the best places we ate in Honolulu. It's vegan friendly, great fun, sociable eating, super tasty and the staff are really friendly. It's also great value in a resort where it's easy to spend $50 on a quick snack!

Healthy and Delicious! Choose your broth and meat, then your vegetables. The Taiwanese style shaved ice is complimentary at the end of the meal! Hidden gem. Servers are awesome!

Prob my favorite hot pot in Honolulu. The house special broth is a great start. Beef tongue is good. They have a good selection of greens and meats to choose from and a complementary sauce bar. Free desert if you done for over and hour. Pay by the color of the plates you choose.

Really good and cute hotpot place with a large selection of items in the refrigerator. Very easy to follow the pricing structure, and everything tasted fresh. Sauce bar could have better selection but it was well-kept. Service was great and they even had a basket to put my bag in. I went with a group of 4 people and our total was around $100, which I thought was inexpensive for the amount of food we ate. They have a stamp card too where you get 1 stamp for every $20 spent. I just wish there was not so much plastic waste with the amount of saran wrap they use for a single plate!
