I LOVE the boba here. It's at a great price for something so delicious. Coconut watermelon boba was so good. They use REAL fruit as well. It's honestly so addictive that we inhaled the boba once we got it. It's to go only. All seating is sealed off, so that's the only downside. The cafe is clean and the staff is very kind as well.

Cash only if you ordered less than 15 bucks! Not surprised by the female server’s attitude especially the mean lady Grinch after seeing other shop reviews. I travelled through flushing and other Chinatown, no one could do worse than her. She speaks Cantonese with the male server, but speaks English to other mandarins speaker. So arrogant and disrespectful. That was my first time trying herb jelly and they listed two options(regular one, D1 and the lingchi one, D2). I had difficulties to choose between these two, so I asked for a recommendation. She just made things worse by saying they are all the best sellers only taste different and start look at screen….??? Just tell me how lingchi tastes like so I can pick one…. I eventually bought both (D1 and D2) and saw Grinch had his first smile ever, and the only difference is one tastes bitter than another. you are just making costumers confused. Don’t waste your money and time. Customers deserve better places to have desserts.

I ordered a brown sugar milk tea and really enjoyed. Small space with friendly and quick staff. Small/limited selection was my only reason for 4 stars. I still enjoyed my order.

Came here for the matcha sugar boba milk tea. As the name implies the tea was sweet, a little sweeter than I like. However the tea was still very good. Add extra ice on a summer day!

Google
Cute little dessert shop service Asian desserts, waitress was helpful in describing some of the unknown ingredients and giving suggestions. Highly recommend the mango sticky rice dish with coconut milk, refreshing, sweet and delicious!! Cute spot!

First time trying this place as mango mango at next door was full. I like that they have the option of herbal jelly and tofu pudding, which bring me back my memory from my childhood in Hong Kong. Notice the herbal jelly is not really a dessert, it actually tastes bitter, but I know it helps to cleanse your toxin from your inner body. I highly recommend the tofu pudding, as it’s soft as silk. Not many places in NYC can do it to this level. Definitely I will try their mango dessert when I am back next and there are many options from the menu.

Looking to extend our Chinese food dinner, we went to this place that was recommended by the restaurant hostess (from Hwa Yuan). This place is focused on Chinese desserts. But be warned, it is very tight inside with very limited seating. Thankfully, there are many pictures on the menu making it easier for newbies to get an idea of what they would like. However, the accompanying descriptions are very utilitarian and short but not actually descriptive. For example, "mango pudding with bird's nest", is presented matter-of-factly as if you were ordering a cheeseburger. What the hell is a bird's nest in the context of food? Turns out, you probably don't want to know. It actually is a bird's nest that is built out of ... that bird's saliva. It's a delicacy but unfortunately, the bird is endangered in many places so get this while you can! But the place is cute, the food comes out looking exactly like the actual pictures. We also got what is literally just called "banana split" - which is a banana split in half surrounding 3 scoops of granita-like "ice cream" in mango, coconut, and black sesame(?) flavors with a muskmelon ball, honeydew ball, and sliced strawberries with sprinkles on top. The fruits were delicious and light and the "ice creams" were all tasty and not melted. All in all, a fun experience having our group squeeze into this tiny space and enjoying new tastes and experiences. Tasty food, good service, and reasonable prices - a winner in my book.

I tried two of the petite cakes from here and I thoroughly enjoyed them both! The one on the left is the boba black tea and the one on the right is caramel mocha. Both had great texture and taste. I would highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp
Gasp! I'm sad to see that this place is marked as closed, but I think I do recall seeing a bubble tea shop in the works at this location. Nevertheless, to remember what it once was: As small as the shop was, they offered a surprising amount of treats. As petite cakes were becoming more popular, Sweet House also jumped on the trend and sold Asian-flavored mini cakes. I got the mango coconut sago and matcha red bean, and they were so beautiful. But what made me actually step foot inside was that I saw they had a mango and coconut drink similar to Mango Mango's iconic snow white mango slush-o. I love that drink, so that's what I ordered, and wow! I was really shocked at how similar it tasted to Mango Mango's bev. Sadly, I wish I had more chances to support this business.

Yelp
Passed by this little shop many times but never tried until recently, did not disappoint. The menu is a bit overwhelming, as there are so many options and varieties to select. Service was decent, since it's made to order and they were preparing other orders;as well as delivery orders. Def will return it try out other things soon!

Veronica L.

Yelp
Went around 9:15 pm, since most dessert spots in the area were closing. I liked that this place was still opened! I ordered R15, which is the Sago with Mango & Coconut Juice, Topped w Grapefruit + Mango - I thought it was overall fine. It was ~$8.50, which is standard for an nyc dessert. It's $10+ for credit card charge, otherwise HAVE CASH AVAILABLE. They accept Venmo as well! The cons of my dessert was that the grapefruit bits seemed like they were pre-peeled, so they were a bit tough + dry. The mango ice cream also seemed to be pre-scooped then put in the freezer, as it was a bit icy. At least the mangoes were sweet and in season. There aren't really seats inside + expect a long wait. It's a bit cozy inside with everyone waiting, and they simply call out your order + bring it to you when it's ready. I'd come back to give it another shot, only this time try one of their dessert beverages!

Yelp
If you're looking for a place to sit and sip, this is not the place for you. This is definitely a place to pick up a drink and walk around with to go. If you come here during the summer, there's no AC so it can get hot if a lot of people are packed in. It can be kinda slow because there's like two people working. We ordered the mango drink and it's so delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day. It's like a mango jelly drink with real mango bits so the drink uses real mangoes and not that powdered stuff. Really delicious and highly recommend if you like mangoes.

Luis B.

Yelp
This spot's immense popularity is well-deserved - it's truly amazing. Our taste adventure included delightful glutinous rice balls with sesame and peanut and an amazing Thai tea boba.

Yelp
I hate leaving negative reviews but my all around experience here was uhhhhh... not the best. First of all there were so many items on the menu that I felt overwhelmed. I like having options but it was to the point that reading through the menu felt like a marathon. Then I went inside, which is very very small, to find a group of teenage boys waiting for their orders. They reeked of the strongest body oder that only a boy that age can produce and in that small space it just... sat there. And I know this isn't the business's fault, but I really should have just left then. The order did come out quickly, but from the first sip I was disappointed. I didn't do much research before walking in because I figured any boba in Chinatown would be at least decent but to be honest the Trader Joe's packaged boba was better than this. You could bite through the pearls instantly and the syrup was basically non-existent. The tea was decent, but it would be pretty pathetic to mess up a jasmine milk tea. I definitely will not be coming back.

Hailey S.

Yelp
A friend and I were out late one night looking for a boba spot that was still open, and Sweet House in Chinatown came through! I like how I was able to adjust the sugar level and how they used fresh ingredients. It was very tasty! They offer a wide variety of drinks and desserts for everyone's palate, so you're sure to find something you love.

Sandra L.

Yelp
Really affordable and great! This dessert was very filling and only like $8. Most places would charge more. Enjoyed the fresh fruit a lot. Would definitely come back.

Jannet C.

Yelp
I came here to get a dessert drink. They have a large menu with all types of desserts. I decided on the mango juice, coconut, palmelo and sago drink. It was nice, sweet and refreshing. I do agree with other reviewers that the service there needs much improvement. They have a large menu that I was hoping to get some help with, but it took such a long time for the lady working there to take my order, and the lady that works there just told me to look at the menu and was too busy to answer any questions. I would've liked to order other things if she could take the time to make suggestions for me. Even though the drink was good, there are lots of other options for dessert in Chinatown. With the service not being very friendly, I would probably choose another place for dessert next time.

Trish L.

Yelp
I was craving for delicious taro and glutinous rice ball sweet soup. Found this place on Yelp near work and went to pick up a coconut taro ball rice sweet soup after work. The taste was not even good, it's overly sweet and you don't even taste the coconut milk flavor and the portion is pathetically small for $7.50. For the same type of sweet soups, Meet Fresh in the new flushing mall was 3-4x the size for $9.98 and way more delicious when I had it a couple months ago. Unless you are desperately craving for it, go to flushing mall and you would have your value met for better taste. I'll not return to this shop. I'm very disappointed.

Yelp
Great spot if your looking for something open late night. Lots of variety on the menu, from cakes to boba drinks and more traditional puddings and jellies. Everything is also packed nicely for take out, drinks are double sealed which I appreciate!

Hank C.

Yelp
One of the few places open after 10pm on a Monday, they served up desserts in the HK style, hot dofufa, bubble tea, some grass jelly, fruity drinks. While not a full bubble tea shop it has a lot of fruit and other combination desserts and mini cakes. I tried a base bubble tea which wasn't too sweet, the tea was ok (a red or black tea with milk), and the bubbles were chewy and not too sweet. Friendly server and cash if under $15.

Lucy L.

Yelp

Yelp
This place is always my go-to when I'm craving sweets in Chinatown. It's definitely a take-out place. There's no dining inside, but there's a park nearby where you could sit! My go-to order is C4 which is mango and coconut juice with sago and mango glutinous balls if I'm craving an actual dessert rather than a drink. The owner is super nice and hard working. Definitely will always stop by once in a while to satisfy my sweet tooth!

Jeannie T.

Yelp
I think I've passed here several times and in my mad rush, I never came in to actually buy something but I recall viewing the menu a few times. This time, hands free and ready to take my time - ordered a bunch of desserts and it hit the spot. I wanted to pick up a small dessert for my family as we were not looking to buy a whole cake and given the bakery I wanted to go to was closed, the poster on this front window drew me in. I quickly ordered the 4" chiffon lychee Rose cake. Absolute beauty in presentation and the lychee slivers were a nice surprise. The hint of rose was a nice top note. But the sinful item I really wanted for myself aside from the cake was the peanut sesame dessert. I love that they had it warm and ready in minutes. I couldn't wait to dig in. Smelled delicious the second I opened it. Even more delicious once devoured. LOL. I'll totally return for more. The third dessert I also picked up was the red bean and coconut pudding. That was refreshing in itself. I would buy that next time as well, no sharing next time. Service could use a lighter touch as I was confused with the drink options and I was gruffly responded to rather than the warmth the menu reflects. Nonetheless, I'll chalk it up to her being busy.

Alice D.

Yelp
Came here with my friend who highly recommended the place and it definitely didn't disappoint! There's no doubt that this had one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever tasted - the mango and watermelon drinks were true to their name and really hit the spot on a hot summer day. My friend doesn't like the jelly, but I thought it balanced the mango drink pretty well and added a different texture to the otherwise just pure mango. Regardless though, both drinks were very delicious and I'd highly recommend this place for any fruity drink!

Tim Z.

Yelp
A small place doing take out currently. Some really authentic Chinese dessert options here. Came here to eat some grass jelly and it did not disappoint. It was soooo good! Pretty cheap for Chinatown as well. If you're looking for some Chinese dessert, this is the place to go! Can't recommend it enough!

Minly L.

Yelp
A very small dessert place in Chinatown, it is a super cute and quaint spot. I got the tofu pudding; a bit mild in flavor but still pretty enjoyable. A few of my friends got the fruit drinks. Ye true star in my opinion. The fruit was super sweet and the jelly bits were truly mind blowing. My friend got the aloe and another the honey. The aloe actually tasted like pandan, not bad but advertising wise could be a bit misleading, imo. The honey jelly was super tasty, would go back just for that. Overall, super tasty!

Mosa H.

Yelp
My go-to dessert spot in Chinatown! It's located on a cute street with lanterns, near the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. I love the selection of mango-themed desserts- mango pudding, drinks, and more. I recently tried the Mango and coconut milk with sago. It was thick and refreshing. The mango flavor was strong and paired great with the coconut milk. I wasn't sure how I would feel about sago but it went well with the rest of the drink. Another favorite is the tofu custard. I usually get it cold, and it comes with small cups of simple syrup. It isn't sweet at all without the simple syrup and its texture is like the smoothest silky tofu you'll ever have. The desserts are $6-10 which are pricey for Chinatown but not expensive at all for Manhattan.

Amy L.

Yelp
Cash only for under 10$, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. The drink was really good though and it tasted like fresh watermelon. There was even actual watermelon in my drink! Would definitely come back here!

Nicole B.

Yelp
Sweet House is an absolutely amazing treat and truly unique. Their drinks honestly can't be compared to anything else I've ever had. It's like a mix between dessert and bubble tea if anything. I discovered them one day when I was looking for a dessert place, and now EVERY time I visit NYC, I come to Sweet House every day. The employees even recognize us because we come so much now. C4 and C11 are my favorite drinks. The C4 is truly addicting. It comes with mango, aloe jelly layer, and coconut. The C11 is strawberry yogurt that is in smoothie consistency with a aloe jelly layer. Both drinks just taste so refreshing, and you can put in the fridge or freezer to save for later and it still tastes amazing later.

Masumi T.

Yelp
I was full and most places were closed but sweet house was still open and their desserts were colorful and looked good. I went with the Tofu Custard with Grass Jelly and Taro Balls. I think it was $6.50 cash only under $15. I tasted each ingredient to see if they were sweet and happy that none were. The bag included a small container of simple syrup which I poured a little of. I like how you can control the sweetness. The dessert was great. Lots of grass jelly and the taro balls had a nice chew. I would definitely order this again and maybe try it with maple syrup.

Justine W.

Yelp
I always make a pit stop here whenever I pass by! I recommend getting mango glutinous balls or the c4 drink which is the mango coconut sago drink. Really love the mango ice cream they use, it's so good. The interior is small and dine in is not available yet. They do get busy at times. However hours are not that consistent, at times the store doesn't even open until 2pm.

Elaine T.

Yelp
Super refreshing drinks that use real fruit! Came here on a Saturday night and got the mango and coconut with grass jelly. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they use real fruit with little to no added sugar. The mango and coconut paired really well together and the grass jelly was just the right amount of bitterness. For $6 it's average priced; they don't accept credit card for small orders but they do take Venmo as well as cash. I would definitely come here again!

Camille C.

Yelp
I love this place so much!! The mango coconut smoothie with aloe jelly is my favorite dessert in New York. It is so unique and every time I come to New York I make sure to get it and bring all my friends here. 10/10 since opening!

Rachel L.

Yelp
DELICIOUS Silky daufufa (tofu pudding), flavorful mango pudding, and fruit cut fresh to order. No seating, and they're super busy even on a weekday night, but 100% worth it. I ordered in person, but I noticed a lot of people picking up... I will definitely call/app order ahead next time.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
I was looking for dessert around the area and thank god this one was opened. I got the sago with mango and coconut juice top with grapefruit and mango combo, mango pudding with mango combo, and sago with fresh mango and mango juice for takeout. They don't offer dine in yet so everything was takeout. I've also tried their petite cakes which are really good! Especially the earl grey one! Out of the 3 I got, I really liked the mango and coconut juice topped with grapefruit and mango combo. Each dessert was about $6 and they take card for over $15!

Tina G.

Yelp
The waitress here is extremely rude and the drinks here are mediocre. Would not recommend anyone to come here, since there are much better options for boba in Chinatown

Kelly Z.

Yelp
I decided to give this place a chance since I always go to Mango Mango. I ordered the R15 for take out: Mango pomelo sago with coconut and mango juice with mango ice cream and I paid an extra $1 for the big sago balls, totaling $7.57. My order came in two containers. The juices were served separate from the sago, mango, pomelo and ice cream. Both sagos were tasteless. The mango juice was made with mango syrup and ice, which is gross and for some really I had a sheet of sago that was crunchy in my dessert. I'm not such how they serve such tasteless desserts. Also, I paid $1 for 8 big sago balls, where mango mango give me 1/2 a container with at least double that.

Caroline N.

Yelp
Passed by and saw a new dessert place. There are 3-4 tables to enjoy dine-in. There is not a lot of space for waiting inside might consider waiting outside. I ordered fresh mango and pomelo to go. It came in 2 containers: fruit in one and liquid in another. The mango was indeed fresh though something was a bit chilled to the point of frozen and needed to thaw out. Not bad though I might dine in to get the full experience.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
A cute little dessert spot in Chinatown! I ordered the mixed fruit sago with mango juice base. It was really refreshing! All the fruits were fresh and it didn't taste watery like most dessert spots. The server was very nice and sweet. They have a pretty big selection of dessert to chose from. I hope this place do well. I will be back to try their warm desserts.

Jess Z.

Yelp
Mango Mango used to be my go to until I started going here, I still love Mango Mango, but I prefer going to Sweet House. If you also enjoy Mango Mango then Sweet House definitely will not disappoint. Sweet House has a great variety of Asian desserts and drinks. I highly recommend going to Sweet House if you are ever in China town area. Words cannot explain how delicious Sweet House's drinks and desserts are. Their drinks are so fresh that they taste like you are eating the fruit. All of their fruit drinks are wonderful, but my personal favorites are their special drinks, Mango juice with Mango jelly and their Watermelon juice.

N C.

Yelp
Love it! Good drinks! Good Service! Best in Chinatown! Many other similar places in Chinatown but this is the best! I go there every time I'm in Chinatown. Highly recommended!

Jennifer T.

Yelp
My favorite hk dessert spot in manhattan! The desserts here have the ultimate asian compliment -- fresh and not overly sweet. The menu is large, but you can never go wrong with one of their mango desserts (my favorite is the mango pomelo sago). The only con is that they're too popular these days and desserts almost always take 15+ minutes. But I guess they're thaaat good. That, plus they no longer offer dine-in options due to COVID.

Seelia Y.

Yelp
I came here with my mom after walking around Chinatown. The interior is cute and bright, but there is not a lot of space inside to sit. The tables are marble/marble-like which is cute. Service was fast and the server was kind and patient to answer our questions. We got the mango ice cream in mango sago and the tong but lut (tong yuan covered in peanuts and sugar). The mango ice cream in mango sago came in a really pretty glass and it smelled good. The mango ice cream felt more like ice and it was hard so that made it hard to eat. However because the ice cream was cold, it kept the mango sago cold and enjoyable. It's not overly sweet and the mangos on it were naturally sweet. The tong yuan in the tong but lut we're steaming and that made me excited because I've been to places where they served luke warm tong yuan for this. Because the tong yuan didn't have any flavor, the sugar and peanuts made it taste really good. I recommend coming in to check it out!

Dew P.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings here.. im always excited to find a place that has taiwanese desserts as they arent so easy to come by. So having something is better than nothing however... We ordered the red bean soup with taro balls and tofu with boba and brown sugar... the taste was disappointing. I think it was due to the freshness of the ingredients - both desserts were bitter. Maybe if the ingredients had been fresher the taste wouldve been different or better.. so a bit disappointing.

Tiffany G.

Yelp
I love supporting small business--especially now! Sweet house is a really cute mom and pop dessert and drink place in China town. I like that the drinks are unique from other bubble tea places. Always refreshing and not too sweet! Also... the drinks are so cute. I like Their C12 drink a lot

Kitty W.

Yelp
YUMMY!! Hubs ordered their coconut sago and sesame paste and both were absolute hits. Sago was cold and refreshing and the sesame paste was thick and full of sesame flavor. I loved that the sesame had a touch of bitter undertone to it but was also perfectly sweetened. Fans.

P ..

Yelp
Cold custard tofu with ginger syrup was delicious. The sesame balls in warm soy milk was even better. 11/10

Sandy Y.

Yelp
Terrible service. The women has the most hostile attitude. Would never recommend or go back again just because of her. The husband is super sweet and nice every time. But she brings out the worst manners possible. I as an Asian girl only asked her for recommendations, no response to rude. She then goes "what do you want ! ?" I told her I'm just looking give me a second and there goes a HUGE SIGH PLUS SIDE EYE. I then ask her if she's got something they usually have, but turns out they temporarily don't have. Giving answers like " UGH eyeroll and unwillingly to service me" As if I'm suppose to know they don't have it. Then two other girls came in speaking English, she used the most loving voice to service them. ITS LIKE SHES DISCRIMINATING ME BC I CAN UNDERSTAND CANTONESE CHINESE. Well guess what, I'm born and raised here and I'm not going to play your silly games. All because You're Internally racist. Nice desserts tho. I do like them.

Yun Y.

Yelp
Horrible service . Dirty sanitation. Bad food . Disrespect for consumers. Don't go this store.

Jessica L.

Yelp
Came back and Tried their C4 and it is addicting and so good and refreshing. Been coming back here whole Covid. Definitely recommend. Outstanding. I sAw they recently added bbt. Haven't tried it yet. But will soon

Natalie W.

Yelp
The cold tofu custard pudding is absolutely amazing and the amount of syrup they give as well is perfect. The cold one is definitely great for the summer time with the heat. They also have a hot version which is great for winter.

Emily J.

Yelp
This local Chinatown dessert spot hubs traditional and non traditional Chinese desserts. It's a small four table cafe-esque spot so be ready to wait if the cafe is full. The menu while not extensive does contain options to suffice the needs of even the pickiest of eaters. We tried the Black Sesame Combo and Tofu Custard. Black Sesame Combo is your typical shaved iced infused with black sesame and topped with a bit of fruit like melon and kiwi, topped with canned I think lychee. The sweetest topping was the canned lychee. It's not too sweet but definitely quenches the sweet tooth. Tofu Custard was literally claimed by the waitress as a top seller but honestly it's just soft tofu served with simple syrup on the side. Nothing impressive here unless you're a health nut. There's ample options and definitely recommend coming to try! Side note It's relatively cheap comparative to other neighboring dessert spots like St Marks!!

Gavin L.

Yelp
I visited this place thinking that it would sell high quality traditional Cantonese desserts. Unfortunately, this place was just not very good. We ordered the red bean dessert, black sesame dumplings, tong but lut dessert, and a couple of Chrysanthemum teas to go. The owner was extremely rude and obviously did not want us there. She was rude to us and the other customers in front and behind us. It was clear that our business wasn't welcomed. Each of the desserts were expensive and came in extremely small portions. They were all bland and had no flavor. Overall the experience was pretty bad, I hope that others had better experiences.

Kait M.

Yelp
Nice little shop for refreshing desserts with fruits! Came here with my family after dinner one day because we were very full but wanted a light dessert. They have other asian desserts like black sesame paste with taro balls, tofu custard (dou fu hua), glutinous rice balls (tong yuan) with peanuts and sesame, etc. Some desserts are sweeter than others, so it depends on what you're in the mood for. Sometimes I specifically crave these types of desserts, so I come here when I'm in Chinatown. They offer a very good selection of desserts that won't be too heavy after a big dinner.

Julie Ying X.

Yelp
I came here for dessert after dinner on a Thursday night. The place was completely empty. My sister and I shared the hot tofu custard (you can get hot or cold) and the mango pudding with mango combo (diced mango pieces/mango ice cream). My sister really loves tofu custard and their ginger syrup that came with it was delicious. It came in a cute wooden pail which was made for Instagram. We got hot tofu custard since it was cold outside. I enjoyed the mango pudding with mango combo more. The diced mango pieces were ripe and fresh. The mango pudding had a strong mango flavor and it didn't taste artificial. The prices were not bad since the portions were larger than I expected. Service was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back and try their other desserts.

Cindy C.

Yelp
This is a great place for desserts. Highly recommend the tofu custard pudding (dou fu hua), which comes with a brown syrup. We ordered it chilled but it can also be served warmed up. It came in a aesthetically beautiful bucket with extra serving bowls to share amongst friends when we ordered in (not sure if that will be the same if you order for take out but still recommend getting). Overall, my friend and I found it super refreshing and not too sweet and are both excited to order it again.

Steven C.

Yelp
Not a big desserts person but I will never say no to their mango ice cream. So good and creamy, perfect combination with the sago, grapefruit and coconut juice!
