I came across this restaurant while on vacation and it is an absolute gem. The owner is from France and she is so nice. The pastries and bread are all made fresh and the baguettes must be amazing because several people came in and left with armfuls.

We absolutely loved our visit to Sweet Lily in Los Angeles! The place is super cute and full of charm – perfect for a relaxing breakfast or brunch. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We had the avocado toast and you can tell they really care about quality and ingredients.

Ici c'est Paris! It has been so long since I've had a proper baguette - le Parisian sandwich is perfect. Add an orangina, et voilà - an excellent meal!

Google
We ordered 2 breakfasts. His was ok, mine wasn't. I got the eggs Benedict, there was no description in the menu so I thought there would be classic. They come in a sliced bread, salmon on top and the eggs were tiny and overcooked kinda like microwaved. The salad was ok, just drenched in dressing, breakfast potatoes were the only thing that was super. We paid and tip before we got the food, althought after paying at register we didn't get any service. It took like 20 min for 2 simple breakfasts while the place had 2 tables already drinking coffee. We had to go get the food from the counter as nobody helped us it seemed they were only 3 people working a cashier, a coffee lady and a cook. There are a lot of imported chocolates candy and beverages, nice decor.

Google
I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place. I've never met a French bakery that I didn't love, whether in the US or France, but this one is phenomenal! I wish I lived nearby because I would be here all the time. The quality and taste of the food were so good that we purchased another meal for later and took it to go. The service was impeccable.

Google
What on earth just happened to my taste buds! thats was phenomenal. They hooked me up with a custom order with salmon and mushrooms. one bite of the potatoes was overwhelmingly good and everything after that is history! Each flavor stood out but blended in a way youll just have to experience for yourself. I can't wait to return and try some sweets! Tomatoes were mild and sweet, not tart like i dislike. everything was herby and slightly salty but above all rich and flavorful but still mild and balanced. the sautéed mushrooms so mild but the wine cut through the blend in such a bold yet subtle way. The bread is heavenly, fresh, soft but cuts easily like a biscuit and has a thick consistency while appearing airy. Eggs cooked perfect, very mild yolks and had no eggy taste. spinach and carrots, hollandaise, everything exceptionally sourced and prepared!

Google
This place was recommended to me and my wife by a friend; We had dinner and it was a great experience, the food was amazing and so was the service; even though it is a long drive for me, I am looking forward to going back.

Google
The place felt dead, and the staff didn’t seem happy—or maybe they just weren’t interested in engaging with customers. It almost felt like good service was reserved for a particular race. The ambiance was nice, but the food was disappointing. I ordered a Club Sandwich, and it completely redefined the dish for me—in the worst way. The bread was so tough that I got exhausted chewing and eventually gave up. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless dead service doesn’t bother you.

Yelp
I came to get dessert to bring to Easter dinner. This is truly French. As good as Paris, just a little more expensive. I bought 7 individual tarts and things and it cost $54. Everyone raved. It was worth it.

Yelp
I went here on a rainy Sunday afternoon with my family. Didn't realize it was closer to closing time but there were still some fresh desserts left. We ordered a chocolate eclair, opera cake, chocolate twist, almond croissant and a vanilla late and double espresso. The service was great too. Everything tasted so good! I was actually pleasantly surprised! I thought the eclair would have custard inside but it had Nutella but of course my son didn't mind. I would say hands down try the almond croissant and a coffee there. Of course next time I'll have to try their breakfast as I didn't know they also offer breakfast too. We ate our desserts faster than I can take pics so I took some pics of the place for now.

Yelp
If you love genuine, fresh French bakery items, then this is the place for you. You can even practice your French! The items are all exquisite. If you feel like a fancy dessert or are planning a get-together, the pastries taste AND look superb. Like something served in a fine French restaurant. Or if you'd like a simple soup or sandwich, grab some baguettes or other bread varieties (many available - sweet, sourdough, multigrain, brioche, regular - though, I will say, there is nothing 'regular' about the soft inside and crispy crust, just delicious, scrumptious goodness - and some heavenly creation with a trillion layers of buttery laminated goodness...) And the restaurant menu items are yummy, and fresh and delicious (made with the bread - and culinary finesse - they bake onsite)

Yelp
I stopped here for breakfast before going to Universal Studios Hollywood as it's located so close. I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! This is a cute little French cafe. The decor was very thoughtful with French flags and cozy seats. I wish it was night time as it looked like they have lovely fairy lights for the evenings. The person at the register was friendly and our food was fresh made and probably took about 20 minutes to arrive. I ordered the alpine tartine without bacon and it was DIVINE. I really enjoyed it and the mix of Brie, sour cream, egg, potatoes, and bread. I did add some hot sauce and pepper but it was very good. I appreciate the side salad to balance out the heaviness. I did not have space for their pastries but they looked amazing. I will say the one major downside is that they did not have espresso or specialty drinks when I visited which I found disappointing. I got a canned cold coffee which was okay. I would've loved a latte or cappuccino to pair with my breakfast.

Yelp
Ah, this spot held so much promise. Alas, it did not live up to the promise. The outdoor tables are close to a busy street, so unless you want to inhale exhaust, head inside. Although it was hot, it didn't seem like the AC was on inside. This made for an uncomfortable experience. It was just too warm. Ordering takes place at the counter. There is a long display of largely sweet treats. We opted for a plain croissant, a chocolate croissant, and a quiche with salad. The croissant was okay, but it was on par with the ones you get from Costco. This is NOT what I had in mind for a French cafe. The chocolate croissant was so dry and stale that it left us parched. As for the quiche, I couldn't get over the very strong mustard taste. It was extremely unpleasant, and it didn't gel with the other flavors of the quiche. Mustard and bacon do NOT go together. The crust was also disappointing. I expected a real butter crust at a French cafe, not chunky bread. Parking is extremely limited. The spots at the back of the restaurant wreak like trash due to proximity to the dumpster. However, there is a decent amount of street parking and paid parking right across the street.

Yelp
Came here for lunch during the week. I lucked out with a parking spot at a meter right out front, but otherwise, it's just street/metered parking. It was not very busy, ample seating and I dug the cafe vibe. The food came out very quickly and the portions are massive. I enjoyed the unexpected salad!

Melodie H.

Yelp
Amazing, high quality pastries. I will drive the extra mile to visit this bakery in the future!

Yelp
Cusomter service not so good, asked for cup of ice since the fridge for the drinks wasn't keeping the drinks cold. Asked 3 times till I got my food asked the guy to bring cup of ice. Silverware had all water spots, cup had water spots, had to ask to napkins and fork. Sandwich was plain literally 4 pieces of salami, mini pickles, and that's all. 15$ could've went to Whole Foods and made my self a great sandwich.

Yelp
The only really sensible way to start the day: Eggs Benedict à la française at Sweet Lily!

JustDecent L.

Yelp
Mid food, good service, and way too expensive. I got the Salmon croissant and it was the blandest thing ive ever had in my whole life, you'd think smoked salmon would have an ounce of flavor but no.

Yelp
Been over 2yrs since last visiting this place and I'm happy to see it survived through opening in 2020! Still the best French bakery items in the Hollywood/Studio city area. Delicious.
google avatar

Shilpa D.

Yelp
Had an oat milk latte and a chocolate almond croissant and they were delicious! My friend had the drip coffee and a chocolate twist (which was filled with a little custard) and she liked that as well. The latte had a European vibe (I don't know what I mean by that either) not an amazing latte but also not bad. Went well with the pastries. vibe inside was casual - several tables with communal seating. curious to try their food as well. i'll def be back for a croissant!
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed the lattes but I wasn't too keen on the different breakfast items I've tried thus far. I will give their other bakery items a try and update later.

Yelp
I love their almond croissants the best in LA True French bakery The owner and employees are really nice

Yelp
This place makes good food. Clean and simple. ...but I order it knowing the seasoning will be my responsibility. Quality always fresh - just a bit boring. Don't avoid this place, it's a classy joint, just ask for salt right away.

Dorit. S.

Yelp
Just visited the bakery. Ordered two dishes and were served completely wrong orders for both. Waiter did offer us to redo them but we were short in time and couldn't wait longer for that. First time there and never will come again. Very disappointing.

Yelp
I'm so mad at myself for not visiting sooner. This bakery is worth 10 stars... or maybe 20... or TO THE MOON! Their tarts are heavenly, staff is kind, ambiance is cozy, and there's easy street parking. Our favorite is the lemon meringue tart. If you're thinking about sharing it... don't. You'll fall in love with it and inhale the entire thing. Order at least 2 and maybe 3. Trust me. Go here and go now. It's a must-visit bakery! Thank you and I'm sure we'll be back again... tomorrow.

Yelp
Review is for the baguettes only :D Came here after it was recommended by another bakery in town. Service was fantastic! The baguettes were fresh with just the right amount of chew and bite. Also quite enjoyed the multigrain. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about it, but I can say I'm a fan. Spoke to a staff member who said they make them fresh everyday. Would definitely recommend grabbing them here!

Yelp
Located just down the road from universal studios, convenient parking and accessibility. Plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside. Display counters full of fresh pastries and baked goods along with breads. order at the counter and grab a seat. We had the croissants - one with raspberry filling and one with pistachio, they were good but should have asked for them to heat up a little. We also had the lemon tart which was indeed lemoni ! The sandwiches looked good so might go back to try

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE. i usually don't write in all caps but that's just how much i loved my experience here!! what we ordered -frenchie breakfast (the baguette with buttter and jam was chef's kiss, and omg the orange juice was one of the best i've had in a while) -salmon croissant (ten out of ten, the potatoes were also cooked and seasoned so well) the inside is also super cute as a bonus with cute small things and snacks available for purchase!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place because yelp had great reviews but after my experience I cannot give them anything more than a 1 star. I didn't even taste the food to review it, thats the worst part. So about a month ago I go in on a Sunday wanting to get a box of desserts to take to a work event the next day. The service in store was good. The employee was nice and patient while I decided which items I wanted for a box of dozen. I had also gotten one tart on the side for myself which was placed in a box on its own. When I got home that night, I opened the single tart box to have it with tea only to find a bug on it. After taking pictures for proof I immediately threw away that Tart away. Then I felt disgusted and threw the rest of the desserts away. Let me just say, I'm not one to pay $120+ on desserts but the reviews were really good and I wanted to impress, but I was happier with the box of donuts I ended up taking to the event. I tried calling the bakery few days in a row to talk to the manager but no one would answer. I live up in Santa Clarita, and work a lot, I could not drive down to Studio City on a whim to speak to a manager. Finally I got someone on the phone two weeks later and I asked to speak to the manager about what happened, they said I have to speak to the owner. Owner ended up calling me, and stated that "who knows maybe while the employee took the tart out and until it got to the box maybe the bug fell on the tart then". She asked me if I saw how deep the bug was in the tart, was it on top or deep inside. Ummm it's not my duty to dig and see how deep the little shit was in there. I saw it, felt disgusted that I paid $7 for a tart that had a bug and threw it away. She kept saying in three years this has never happened. Well I'm sorry but it happened to me. I don't like writing bad reviews, but the Owner asked me to send pictures, which I texted her, and it has been at least two weeks since then I have yet to hear back from her. It's frustrating after spending that much money I dont even get to enjoy the desserts and when I reached out I get no response. Forget getting a refund I dont want to be a Karen, I didn't even get an apology, nor any sympathy. I have worked in a family owned bakery myself and I understand her position, but to be so insincere and not even respond back? I'm hoping there is some resolution and that my incident is an isolated incident but I don't think I will ever go back here and I will share my experience with anyone who even thinks of going there.

Yelp
I've driven by this place a few times in the last year-ish and finally decided to stop in for breakfast on a Saturday. Most of their tables were full, but it wasn't crowded nor was service slow. My husband ordered a prosciutto benedict and a cappuccino (?) and I ordered the prosciutto croissant sandwich. Both were excellent! Flavorful and fresh from the bread to the salad to the eggs and potatoes. We also got a few pastries to go: Raspberry croissant - generously filled with jelly and just the right amount of sweetness. Beignet - husband said it was tasty and fluffy Apple turnover - husband also said it was flaky and delicious Pumpkin tart - this was actually, hate to say it, awful. It was weirdly savory and had a spice in it that I just did not care for, which is unfortunate because I was looking forward to this one the most. Should have stuck with a fruit tart, but I figured I'd get the seasonal item while I could. Hard pass. And a bummer because I ate this after a long day in which I got into a car accident, so I was really looking forward to this treat. Alas, that has nothing to do with Sweet Lily Bakery, but it kind of just added insult to injury, as they say. French Baguette - kind of disappointing. It was just okay. A little on the bland side, which is odd to say for a loaf of bread, but neither I or my mother were impressed. It wasn't bad. But I wouldn't get it again. Despite the last two items on my list being not-great, this place still deserves 5 stars, because everything else was absolutely delicious and authentic tasting, staff was friendly, and while it was a little on the pricey side, the quality was worth it. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The ambience of this cafeteria style restaurant was nice. The breakfast that I ordered was OK. Unfortunately, the weak link was any of their baked goods. Between what I ordered and my friend ordered, they were overly sweet and not well made. My friend also tried their baguette, which was chewy and not crispy as a baguette should be. Prices of baked goods were high compared to other bakeries I've been to. I would choose to go to Portos over this place any day. If you're going to call yourself, a bakery, your baked goods should be on point. I would not come here for baked goods ever again.

Yelp
Search for breakfast/lunch food before our flight back to Nashville. Their food selection was so much I wanted to order it all but I had to choose just one. Went with the Benedict Eggs and a few desserts MY GOD *chefs kiss*. Service was attentive and great with recommendations and accommodations. The atmosphere was very unique, relaxing with a beautiful character for bakery.

Yelp
Everything here is great, so far. Great food, ambiance, and service. I also tried both the coffee and chocolate eclairs, and they were both very tasty. I highly recommend trying this French bakery.
google avatar

Sophia A.

Yelp
Place is cute and baked goods are fresh! Thought the pistachio croissant would taste more like pistachio but you could tell it was so fresh so I can't complain. Cappuccino was good, they didn't seem to have many tea options for my friend. Overall thought they have a huge selection of desserts and workers were friendly.

Yelp
Meh. Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. No trouble at all finding a table, and the interior was very clean and bright. Service was pleasant. The croque madame I ate on site was good. But the baked goods I took home with me were surprisingly disappointing. I bought two beignets: raspberry and Nutella, and the overwhelming flavor of both was overwhelmingly sweet, with little distinguishing flavor of their own. I also purchased a baguette, but it was bland, with little of the shatteringly crisp crust or tender crumb that I expect from this classic French bread. I wanted to love this place, but I was left underwhelmed. Still, I would recommend the croque madame.
google avatar

Yelp
Right on cahuenga blvd, a quality cafe with a soft ambiance. The service has a nonchalant quality. The pastries are up to European standards. Delicious!
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
We are regular morning customers, stopping by for their delicious pastries and freshly baked bread. We also like their sit down breakfasts - the salmon benedict is my favourite. Last Wednesday we arrived home after a work trip and needed dinner. Sweet Lily hit the spot. The starters were well presented and very tasty, and our entrees were perfectly portioned and delicious. Our server was knowledgable and her wine pairing suggestions were perfect. We found street parking but our server mentioned there is free parking behind the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Original French Bakery with great variety of pastries. The also do dinner at night. The food is amazing and I love the wine selection. Definitely going to come back for more. I tried an onion soup in Paris many years ago and I didn't like it but this place changed my mind!
google avatar

Gohar K.

Yelp
Haven't been here for a while, same great food and customer service. Freshly baked baguette is my family's favorite. Perfect for sandwiches at home. Can't leave before getting some croissants as well. The Quiche is delicious as well. So glad I stopped by.
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
Perfect food is perfect. My grandmother was from France, and I have also been to France myself. I usually am very reserved with my opinion when it comes to French food because of this. The first time I came to Sweet Lily and tasted the food I cried. The flavors brought me back to my childhood. Both the breakfast and dinner are stellar choices. I recommend this restaurant 1,000 times over. I saw someone left a review on here saying the croissants are on par with the ones from Costco. They clearly have no idea what they are talking about. That a wildly inaccurate comparison. These are the genuine thing.
google avatar

Cristina P.

Yelp
We were staying in Universal City and wanted to find a quick place for breakfast/brunch before hitting the town. Found Sweet Lily on Yelp and so glad we did! While the decor and ambience looks like a family deli/store, the food screams Vive la France! I ordered the salmon croissant - loved every bite, the flakiness of the croissant, and the twice baked potatoes were magnifique. We also ordered some of the yummy pastries to go; the Coffee eclair was good (may be a little too rich for me, but it's an eclair after all), and the Raspberry and Chocolate croissants were satisfying even the next day. Loved how they also sell traditional French snacks and small groceries as well; and hearing Edith Piaf sing La Vie en Rose while having breakfast was a nice touch as well. :) If you are visiting Universal Studios it's just a short 5 mins across the highway and highly recommend it.

Yelp
Yum! Best Burger in LA. Hands down. Turns out it's an amazing French restaurant with equally yummy classic dishes and exquisite wine menu. Service is great! Natalie is very sweet and takes care of you. Good Food good music good wine. What else can you ask for? The chef/owner is very talented! We live across the street and are very happy to have this amazing addition to the neighborhood. Enjoy!

Yelp
Cute French bakery/ restaurant in our neighborhood. Everything looks delicious. The oat vanilla cappuccino was the best I've ever had. Avocado toast was so tasteful. I also treated myself to a pistachio croissant it tasted so fresh and light, so so good. The staff is super sweet. Outdoor and indoor seatings. Love that we have this cute french place here. This will be our weekend treat.

Yelp
This is based on their bakery. I heard about this place base on LA food group on facebook. They were promoting their dinner service. I got their fruit tarts lemon and pear. For $8 its nothing really all that note worthy. Just bland pastry with hint of fruit. Like the la croix of pastry. Got their Croissant too and its just okay. Base on the texture and flavor. Not as buttery or crisp as other croissants i have. Comparing it to other French bakery around the area like Artelise Patisserie, Lou french of the block, the Lodge, even the Frozen croissant at Epicurious Gourmet, the croissant was far better. Service, I don't think they wanted me there. Was not greeted at the door or even when I was hovering at their baked goods. So not really going back to try their food service.

Brian C.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed overall. We came in for coffee and breakfast. The mochas and bakery were very good. But the breakfast wasn't great. They didn't ask if I wanted potatoes or salad and just gave me salad. Not sure who is eating a house salad at 9am. My wife got potatoes and they were very good. I got the flattest omelet I've ever had and I ordered avocado on it which it didn't have. My wife got eggs Benedict and it was the smallest eggs I've ever seen and the brioche wasn't toasted. Might go in for coffee and a croissant again but definitely not for the food.
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped there to get some food for brunch. I ordered scrambled eggs with spinach and mushrooms ( it was little bit dry and not salted), also got a latte with cake tiramisu ( it was delicious ). Nice place, good price

Yelp
This is a lovely local authentic French bakery with great food, coffee, and staff. It was a great place to enjoy while working remotely for a couple of hours.

Yelp
After following on Instagram for a few months, i finally got over here to this amazing French bakery. I really wanted great pastry or an entreme of some sorts. I saw they made food, so i popped in for some lunch. I adore browsing the pastry case. Came across the quiche Lorraine and was sold. I got a chocolate eclair and a raspberry croissant because it looked so beautiful and I've never seen anything like it. Quiche was flaky, cheesy and oh so delicate and delicious. The balance of flavor and not too much bacon kept this on the lighter side. The potatoes were all cooked and seasoned perfectly. I was amazed! Usually potatoes are inconsistent or not cared for when serving, but these were great. Each piece cut about the same size to ensure proper cooking. And a the salad with a great vinaigrette cut through the cheesy quiche to balance it out. I was in heaven and the staff was so nice. It was a peaceful environment. Eclair was a little small in my opinion, but filled with plenty of chocolate cream and it was tasty. Good dough too. That raspberry croissant! I need another croissant to eat all the jam it had inside. So so good! Great texture on the croissant as well with a nice crispy exterior. I'll be coming back for more of these! Loved it,. Coming back. Taking friends. Loving the French feel

Yelp
My friend Scott who lives in the area told me to check this place out. I am so glad I did! It's a slice of Paris in Studio City, California! J'adore ça!!
google avatar

Vicki G.

Yelp
Food was good. Croissants sandwiches were full of flavor big fan of the portion and egg was delicious. Beignets we're not our favorite. They were cold but I suppose different restaurants serve them as they please. I didn't expect that, more dough/dense than expected. Also bought a baguette and a couple of desserts to go. Not sweet but just right. If you are looking for rich amounts of sweets then this might be your place. Authenticity is there, great salad dressing and the potatoes were a little more oily than I would have wanted. Self serve, self seating as well. The place can be confusing without direction. But you will figure it out. They stay out of your way and are helpful and polite the entire time. Will be back for the salmon croissant for sure!

Yelp
GET THE PASTRIES/DESSERTS AND SKIP THE BRUNCH! I came here for brunch and was a little disappointed by the food. It lacked the finesse that I typically associate with a French establishment, and the taste was meh. The beans were dry, the salad was okay, the bread also fell below expectations. Maybe it was my fault for getting an english breakfast at a french bakery. I still got desserts to go after this experience and I was so glad that I did. They were so cute and so delicious, not too sweet. Kind of on the pricier side but theyre a nice treat. I got the strawberry tart and the carribean (mango flavored) cake. Will definitely come again for the pastries/dessert.

Yelp
GREAT FOR DINNER! This is one of the best french bakeris (and bakeries all around) that is consitantlyl delicious, no matter what you order! LOVE the chocolate almond croissant. And just recently they started seving dinner. I went and had the Salmon...it was incredible! HIGHLY RECOMMEND - not only for pastires and coffee, but for dinner and wine as well!

Yelp
Great breakfast and bakery is fantastic. Not many gluten free options so I did have to suffer after tasting the treats. Wish they had more gluten free options so I could go more often. Great location, street parking if you can get it. Great service. Feels like the owners work there and are hands on. Ambiance was ok, casual breakfast/lunch place.

Ves S.

Yelp
Great coffee. Friendly staff. I work in this area and I didn't realize this gem was here! I saw balloons one day and thought it was a grand opening but it they were open for a while. Many great pastries. I came on a late breakfast break and got an almond chocolate pastry and coffee. Very flaky crust which combined well with the aroma from the coffee. Nice local spot to get away from the hustle.

Yelp
I have a soft spot for this bakery, going back to before lockdown, which is around when they opened during the pandemic. I have enjoyed their croissants pastries, and French bread. I wish I could say the same for their apple turnover. The dough had a soggy bottom layer under the filling, which can only be described as puréed apple sauce, maybe from a jar? It didn't contain a speck of cinnamon and if I were blindfolded I couldn't tell you what it was. I was anticipating some chunks of apples, cinnamon, a bit of caramelization from sugar and butter... It was not worthy of a French bakery counter, more fitting for a grocery store shelf, and not the top shelf.

Yelp
Used to love coming here but lately me and my wife have had less than favorable experiences with an employee that works there. It literally deters us from even considering it even though we live walking distance from the establishment. She's very unwelcoming and unhelpful and doesn't know how to conduct herself appropriately for a job in the food service industry, very rude person, smile once in awhile will you? I guess they got offended I described her stature and ethnicity in any way so my last review was removed, but this is mostly meant to help the business identify the issue. I don't recommend visiting this location anymore as it's pretty overpriced, they also charge you for the boxes they put your pastries in which is absurd. The service that some of the employees provide is very lackluster as others have mentioned. I recommend taking a trip to Bottega Louie instead as the quality of their food and pastries is leaps and bounds better for the money.

Yelp
We have been coming back to this place more and more often lately. Amazing food, great service, dry cozy atmosphere! Becoming our favorite spot in the hood!

We ordered many desserts for our holiday party for the first time here and here's a summary - 5/5 their petite tarts (which were not petite at all, a very good size) were delicious and beautiful - pistachio, raspberry and pear tarts were all great! 4/5 their traditional buche was also tasty and beautiful 2/5 their raspberry and coffee buche on the other hand look very nice but they do not have a cake texture, it's almost entirely moose. As a result, they don't taste as good, and they're very difficult to cut without falling apart. I'll definitely return for their tarts!
