I eat out a lot and have a taste for quality ingredients. I think this pastry shop has some of the best pastries you'll find in northern California. I particularly favor the ham and cheese croissant. I believe that it is the best I have ever had and will ever find. No photo. You're just going to have to trust me when I say, after you eat this sandwich, all other ham and cheese croissants or versions of this sandwich will be ruined for you. It's the ONLY one. This particular visit I got the chocolate croissant. Chocolate is folded throughout every layer of dough and inside. It's everything you want and more from a chocolate croissant.

My fave bake shop worldwide. I come by anytime I'm in the area. Pics: 1) prosciutto croissant sandwich. 2) beef dumplings with roasted vegetables soup. 3) pumpkin chai.

Google
A tiny unassuming shop on a main road in Sonoma County with one of the best croissants I have ever had. I say this as someone who has been to Paris twice, and over 50 countries world wide. The croissants are sizable, buttery, flaky on the outside with a delicate and tender inside, and with excellent lamination throughout. The other pastries like the Reese's inspired cronut, the Kouign Amann, and the morning bun are all also very tasty with the same buttery texture with some added flare. They're not too heavy handed with the sugar, cream fillings, or flavors. Everything is delicate and divine. Do not miss this place when in the area.

The churro poptart was delicious! The poppy seed muffin was awesome and the iced mocha was delicious. It was a nice and quiet place outside seating is available and staff were nice. I also got the chilaquiles and those were really good. My friend got the breakfast burrito and she said it was delicious as well. Highly recommend!

Google
Wow, fresh, creative, delicious, charming - this is my new favorite breakfast spot in Sonoma and Napa County. If you see their homemade pop tarts (hand pies), get 'em! We had the blueberry and strawberry and they were so flaky and natural and delicious. Loved their chicken sausage English muffin sandwich, with a touch of tang from the mustard and a side of fruit. Creamy cappuccino. Outdoor seating. Shoutout to Jud who was so helpful and sweet to us and our dog. 5 stars!!!!

Google
Stopped in for the first time. Had THE BEST BUDDHA bowl! Seasoned beautifully without the addition of a heavy sauce. Also enjoyed a hot matcha and a GF blueberry/lemon almond teacake. DELICIOUS!!

Google
Love, love, LOVE this sweet little shop with tasty, freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches but the standout stars are the baked goods. Each one is even more delicious than the one before. Croissants, muffins, scones, and even gluten free items my friends swear by. Highest quality in a cozy setting.

Google
First time in this version of the space now called Sweet Pea Bake Shop. Has a good vibe, relaxing, coffee, espresso and all the caffeine drinks are offered. Had a very tasty Spiced Apple Scone and S’more Cookie. Lots of original items with their unique twist, both pro-gluten and gluten free. Flavors were seasonal, fresh and all bakery treats were appealing. The shop is clean, organized and staff was helpful and attentive.

Yelp
We've stopped here multiple times to pick up pastries while in Sonoma. for a small bakeshop/cafe they have a good variety of pastries and baked goods available (so long as you don't arrive towards the end of the day!). Coffee is good quality with lots of different flavors available (including Pandan, Ube, and Horchata). On our last visit we saw people eating savory dishes and didn't realize they had items on their menu like burgers, super food bowls, and sandwiches. I'll need to make it a point to stop in for lunch next time as the food looked delicious! There is a small parking lot adjacent to the businesses with 2 dedicated spots for Sweet Pea if needed.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
My favorite bakery in Sonoma. I die for the berry crumble bar. They have house made pop tart puff pastries plus many unique and also usual suspects. They also serve a small array of breakfast and lunch items; I love the vegetable hash bowl. Cute spot, street adjacent but tucked behind a big redwood tree, with quaint indoor and outdoor seating. Really wonderful people work here! Just all in all a lovely stop, whether you're grabbing treats quick for a Sunday morning at home, coming out for a reflective cup of tea on your lonesome, or meeting a friend for coffee. Plus side if you're crafty, it's right next to Noma Knits which has tons of beautiful quality yarn.

Yelp
The iced oatmeal cookie I got from here was one of the best oatmeal cookies I've had in my life!! I wish they could deliver them to PA for me. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We LOVED this place! We ordered a chai with almond milk, strawberry matcha, fruit danish, and pistachio scone and everything was great. When going through Sonoma we will definitely be coming back!

Mark B.

Yelp
I enjoyed their healthy oatmeal, apple, raisin, cranberry muffin and coffee. Their community table is pretty cool and their Wi-Fi is strong. Had a nice conversation with the owner and Baker.

Yelp
Sweet Pea! Aww.. a cutesy name for a cutesy bakery in a woodsy little shopping strip. The glass bakery case isn't big but it's contents are impressive, filled with almost storybook-esque, oversized pastries. The tallest cinnamon rolls you've ever seen, the fattest, most sugar-dusted-sparkling donuts, the most caramelized galettes. Enormous scones. They have a couple gluten free pastry options and then plenty of gluten free hot breakfast dish choices, like chilaquiles, avocado toast, and the "bird's nest" (a hash browns and sausage concoction). If you show up right at opening you might have to wait a minute because they seem pretty busy getting fresh baked goods out into the case. Jon had the ham & cheese croissant drizzled in a mustard dressing. It smelled soooo amazing!

Kel H.

Yelp
Such a fun find! High quality food and delicious pastries, plus an excellent ube latte. Be prepared to wait a bit for your hot food since it's all made to order, but trust that it's worth it! There is decent seating indoors and a few outdoor tables as well. Breakfast burger was a messy but delicious indulgence and the breakfast burrito could easily feed two. Ingredients all seemed to be very high quality, especially the bacon. We are already planning a return trip to try the breakfast sandwiches and chilaquiles.

Yelp
Business was closed due to lack of staff. Pathetic and I will never go back to might be good but you'll never know

Eric B.

Yelp
I came here 3 times the week before Christmas and now twice (so far) in the new year and I have to say this place is outstanding. The quality of every single item I have ordered has been outstanding. Some of the best I've ever had....their love of baking (and cooking) really shines through. Wake up Sonoma and check this gem out!

Robin B.

Yelp
We just don't get to come here enough. But it's always such a satisfying treat! Husband brought me home an Ube latte a weekend or two ago and I just had to go back for another yesterday 6/2. I had the earl grey scone and he the oatmeal cookie with a dirty chai (and of course my 2nd ube latte in a couple weeks time span). Thank you so very much and my humble apologies for pronouning your kind staff. I only caught myself after we were in the car in traffic. My husband was caught off guard my my awkward lapse too. Forever a work in progress on this planet. Peace n Sweet Peas forever

Tania H.

Yelp
OMG, the best! My mom was French so we learned early on the difference between a bakery (Boulanger), and pastry shop (patisserie). Sweet Pea has the best pastry I ever remember enjoying. I had a pastry that had a flaky crust with a flan center, and fresh berries=heaven. The pastry itself was so flaky and light. I'll be making special trips to Sonoma just to come here. Please open a shop near Walnut Creek!

JoAnne B.

Yelp
I just picked up my prepared food to go special they are offering and each mouthful is met w ohs and ahs from me that is surprising even me. Man is it good! First the amount of food that I was given was very impressive, First course is soup w chicken wings and a hard boiled egg. Main course: meat and veggies and boy were the veggies good. Brussel sprouts asparagus, blackened cauliflower, chunks of summer squash and with a tiny bit of something that is sweet ( I think it is tomatoe). With a perfect fried egg on top. And a large container that has 2 wantons or egg rolls and noodles. there is also a small container with a piickled liquid and carrots that I think is palet cleanser. It will be topped off with a chocolate and white cream cake I put in the fridge. I've had lunch and am looking forward to sharing the remainder with a friend for dinner. I can't wait for next week to see whaat they offer and I'm hoping they are doing thanksgiving meals.

Tracy M.

Yelp
Needed to get some food before some wine tastings began haha. This was a great place to start! I love Chilaquilas so I was sold and the half order was enough for now. The avocado toast was filling and had a nice touch of bacon. Coffee was also excellent here. Service was really nice. Food took a little bit but they were busy on a Saturday morning so expected. I enjoyed that it was just a cute little cafe and not too crazy of an atmosphere.

Giselle S.

Yelp
I've driven past sweet pea a dozen times & always forget to stop by, not today! I came into the cute bake shop today and was surprised to find they offer more than pastries & coffee. They offer lunch & brunch, chilaquiles, bahn mi, salads & more! Today, I stopped by for a coffee & pastry (or a few). I ordered the iced horchata latte it was prepared perfectly with the right amount of sweetness & coffee so that neither are overbearing -- just delicious! I wanted to take one of each of the pastries, they all looked so good! But I only took 3, the blueberry pop tart, flan danish & banana nut muffin. I have only eaten the flan danish so far & omg it's sooooo good!!! The pastry is soft & crumbly & the flan inside is so yummy, I will for sure not be forgetting this place!

Nory S.

Yelp
I try to support Filipino businesses. Great breakfast place. Can walk to from Square.

Kary A.

Yelp
Such a cute little shop! They have indoor & outdoor seating. Started off with an iced Horchata Latte with a strawberry basil scone. They were both so delicious! Coffee is nice and strong yet not too sweet. The scone was soft inside but crispy on the outside, and the strawberry & basil balanced very well. I also got a BLAT with salad. It was bigger than I expected, so I only had half, but it was very tasty. English muffin was really good & crispy but soft. Salad had enough dressing but not too much. Prices are reasonable for everything in sonoma. The staff was very friendly. I'll be back soon

Andrew K.

Yelp
Loved the food we ate here the other day. I'm not gonna ask how butter or cream they put in the pistachio scone but they nailed it with the texture. It's light and fluffy and just the right salty (savory) and sweet combo. The horchata latte and and cold brew coffee were on point too. We topped it off with a half order of chilaquiles (or "breakfast nachos"). This was my first experience with those and man they are delicious! They come with an egg, chorizo, salsa, crema, queso fresco, and a few other things. We weren't that hungry so we split a half order but I could see eating a whole bowl myself. You wouldn't think the chips could hold up to all of the toppings but despite it all, they hold up texture and flavor wise. The cafe isn't too large but there's a few nice spaces to eat outside the restaurant. The baristas/waiters were all very nice and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
What a delicious place! I will come back again and try something else from their menu. Customer service was terrific! I enjoyed the vanilla latte and the delicious Ham and cheese croissant. It was super loaded, that I shared it with my friend.

Colleen L.

Yelp
Cute little bakery shop. The ubi matcha was good but it really didn't have as much ubi flavor as we had hoped. The blueberry poptart was worth the hype...it was delicious. The chicken sausage, egg, and cheese muffin sandwich was huge and super good. Easily splittable for two people.

Jaclyn Y.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING. Ordered breakfast here and loved everything we got. Chilaquiles: comes with sausage, eggs, guacamole, and sour cream. So good. Bird Nest: this was really unique. It's sausage, hash brown, and egg with a mustard drizzle. Never considered this combo before but my husband and I loved it! Blueberry pop tart: this is not like the dry pop tarts you get in the grocery store. It's light and flaky, and the fillings aren't too sweet either. It was so good! Ube latte: this also wasn't too sweet, so it was easy to drink. I ordered a large and it was huge. Parking is easy, with its own little lot. I believe they close when they sell out because I went back in the afternoon before closing time, but it was already shut down.

Garett S.

Yelp
Stopped by on the way out of town Sunday morning with my wife and daughter. This place has such an assortment of baked goods and morning hot food options if you aren't big into the carbs. My wife and I got the ham and cheese croissant, mom got the morning bowl with linguica, and my daughter got the homemade " blueberry pop tart." Everything was excellent and the vibe was great in a Sunday morning! Would definitely recommend stopping in!

Emily T.

Yelp
Such a little gem! Took a trip out to Sonoma and we fell in love with this little bakery! Cute indoor and outdoor seating available. Everything we had tasted amazing!! Food: Chai latte with oat milk Ham and cheese croissant - super loaded and so good! Maple glazed cronut which also had a surprise cream filling - drooling just thinking about it Pistachio scone - my favorite item here!! Egg sandwich with sausage and gruyere cheese We had such a tasty brunch here before heading to the gardens and if we are in the area again we would 100% make a stop here for more of their tasty goodies!

Yelp
This bakery is a hidden gem in Sonoma, by far one of the best bakeries that i have been to in the area. The first time I tried their baked pastries was from the Sunflower cafe located in the square. They had them on display in the front. I saw a blueberry pop tart and wanted to try it and did not regret it! It was so good I asked the cafe where the pastries were from. Unfortunately the actual bakery was under construction at the time so we did not get the chance to visit before we left. When I came back a couple months later, the bakery was open so I finally had the chance to try their other pastries. Here are some of the things I tried that were really good: they offer a variety of pastries that I have not yet tried, food, and coffe 1. Churro croissant: this was my first time having one and it exceeded my expectation. It was crispy and had the right enough cinnamon it so that it wasn't overwhelming sweet. Paired with a cappuccino or hot latte would be perfect. Rating: 9/10 2. Blueberry/strawberry pop tart: I tried both and my favorite was the blueberry. I've never been a huge fan of pop tarts but these are delicious and seem to sell out fast! Highly recommend 10/10 3. Cinnabons: These were our favorite for two reasons: 1. I've never seen such large Cinnabons 2. It had the right amount of sugar on it so that it wasn't overwhelming sweet 3. They stay fresh for a while. We loved these so much we pre-ordered four of them before we left. Rating 11/10 4. Breakfast burritos: ordered these two days in a row because they were good for the price. It's rare to see breakfast burritos especially quality ones under $10. Rating: 7/10 5. Blueberry cronut: blueberry flavor was light but tasty rating: 8/10 Their coffee is pretty good and will go well with any of their pastries! Needless to say, me and my boyfriend loved this bakery we came almost everyday they were open during our time in Sonoma. The service is great and there is plenty of seating inside and outsideCan't wait to go back and visit again soon!!

Isamar B.

Yelp
The most amazing almond croissant, staff is very friendly. They have the most delicious pastry's and coffee.

Dar R.

Yelp
Cute little place for nice baked goods and coffees or teas. They have great little lunch specials, including nicely cooked hamburgers and fabulous ham and cheese croissants drizzled with a Dijon mustard sauce. Service is fine and the ambience is classic bakery with several tables inside and several outdoors spaces. Parking is limited.

Mackenzie M.

Yelp
I can't believe I took so long to come here! I had their Horchata Latte and Parfait, both were good. I love how they serve their drinks in Le Creuset mugs! They have handmade pop tarts that looked good to, as well as sandwiches. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Alejandra B.

Yelp
Coffee is great, Jude is awesome. Cute place. Wish they were open longer hours. Food and pastries are tasty but the kitchen staff could be cleaner...

Susan P.

Yelp
Amazing place and conveniently located to my hotel! Forgot my mask- they graciously offered me one, and I'm so glad. Excellent breakfast sandwich and almond mocha! Bonus: fresh fruit cup too, snagged a morning bun too but will save for later. Generous, delicious breakfast - I'll be back!

Jonathan F.

Yelp
Sweet Pea Bake Shop is unique. It has an array of original pastries and breakfast/brunch items. The current owners-proprietors have maintained what the founders had envisioned some years ago. And that is, fresh one-of-kind culinary baked creations that make the experience something a bit extraordinary than just another morning coffee spot. I highly recommend getting to Sweat Pea in the morning because by noon just about everything is gone. This is one of the places locals go. And yet Sweet Pea is definitely a place to recommend to visitors because it's special and high quality. And, because it represents the best of Sonoma. For my afternoon coffee escape I had a cafe latte with one of Sweet Pea's scrupulously and generously made cookies. When I go back I want to have the iced Oatmeal cookie. Again as I said, the best time to go to Sweet Pea is in the morning. Not that late morning or noontime isn't a good time, on a sunny day it's delightful to sit outside. It's just that the menu is consumed quickly and so late comers have to take what's left. Everything is truly made fresh, with fresh ingredients and the recipes are original. Service is friendly but please be patient with the staff; like so many places theses days they are busy with lots of customers, but few on board that must multitask to handle everything. Plenty of parking in the lot in back. The Redwood Trees provide a nice respite while enjoying your coffee or tea.

Gina C.

Yelp
Found a new Bakery and Cafe that we have been going to now since we first visited in October. They have so much pastry selections including seasonals that we wanted to try them all every time we visit. Our current favorite is the Pistachio Croissant and Double Fudge Choco Croissant Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is cute, clean and very inviting to stay and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with our favorite pastry. Thank you to the owner and baker for the yummy croissants.

Marc L.

Yelp
Have you ever gone on vacation and the last place you ate you wished was your first because you would have come back? Well... this is what Sweet Pea Bake Shop was for me! Popped into this cute little bake shop (cafe) on the way out of town and WOW! Loved everything we ate. The prices were reasonable and the food was amazing and creative! Not being able to choose between the Veggie Frittata ($8) and their Bird's Nest ($6), I got both! The frittata was great... not too much seasoning so the flavors of the veggies and cheese were the stars of the dish. This came with hash browns which were prepared the way I love them... well done! The Birds's Nest must be their creation and was a hash brown patty (again cooked the way I like it) with an egg cooked into it. It was a hard fried egg and if there was a way to keep the egg runny... OMG! With this Birds Nest was a chicken pineapple sausage which was one of the best sausages I've ever had... juicy and flavorful! Topping all of this was a honey mustard drizzle that tied it all together! My wife had a ham and cheese croissant that was sooooo good. The croissant was soft and flaky but had enough body to hold together as a sandwich. They split the top, filled with ham and cheese, drizzled honey mustard and ... sooooo good! For dessert we shared a blueberry pop tart. I love sweet pastries that are not overly sweet despite looking like a super sweet pastry it was not. The crust was dense and flaky. The filling really tastes like blue Berry! Finally... to wash this all down had an iced ube latte. Don't you hate when you order a flavored latte and it tastes like a flavored drink that might have coffee in it? Not this one... this was definitely a latte (coffee drink) and had a nice ube flavor to compliment the coffee.... I love ube and this the best ube latte I've had. Affordability? $36 for everything we pigged out on! Can't wait to come back to Sonoma and make this our first (and maybe second) stop instead of our last stop!

Victoria C.

Yelp
The pastries that they sell are amazing. It's always fast and good customer service. I have gone to other bakeries in the area, even though they are good, they don't compare to sweet pea bakery. I highly recommend that you come.

Linda P.

Yelp
Since buying a second home here in 2017, Sweet Pea has been my favorite spot for breakfast and baked goods. Most often I have the avocado toast on English muffin, which has lots of bacon and a drizzle of basalmic vinaigrette. It's devine, but more than I can eat in one sitting. The staff are friendly and it's family-owned and operated. Since they're not on the Plaza, it's mainly locals who eat there. The baked goods are excellent but not if you are on a diet of any kind!

Cami F.

Yelp
I cannot express my gratitude for having found this amazing bakery! I frequently visit Café Scooteria, for an iced vanilla latte and galette. However as of late when arriving they have been sold out of galettes', so I had to ask, where do you get your pastry's ? Without hesitation they replied Sweet Pea! I ran up the street and found the cafe tucked in the corner of a business park. I was immediately met with bright smiles, beautiful pastry's, AND TEMPlE COFFEE! Dharma espresso!!! I promise you that your about to experience something magical. I suggest a seasonal fruit galette and an iced vanilla latte with whole milk!

Chris 1.

Yelp
One of the best parts of our trip to Sonoma was this bakery. We order a variety of treats and breakfast items, and everything was beyond my expectations and even exceeded some of my fond memories of fresh baked goods from bakeries in SF. This place is a must visit if you are in the area. I hope they stay in business for a long time cause I can't wait to visit them again.

J Y.

Yelp
I tried this bakery yesterday for a couple breakfast items. I must have picked a non baking day for them. I picked out a kouign amann and a blueberry pop tart. Both were stiff and dry. Kouign amann is a French pastry that should be crisp and flakey on the outside and light and tender on the inside and buttery all around, this was neither. Unfortunately both items tasted 2 or 3 days old. Maybe it's better on a baking day.

Oenophile X.

Yelp
Friendly Service, amazing lunch and breakfast options. Had their breakfast tacos which are huge! I came in for their specialty which to me is there creme brûlée cronuts..unfortunately they are only available on the weekends.. Must stop if you are driving through Sonoma!

beth b.

Yelp
The WORST cold brew I've ever tasted ( and tossed). So bitter it Was completely undrinkable. I tried watering it down multiple times and it didn't help--still so bitter. I doubt this was real cold brew. More likely the drags out of their pots from the day before that they put in a jar and put in the fridge. Don't even get me started on the only vegan item they had-- so sweet it was inedible, like sugar with some crunchy junk in it. Maybe the idea was the grossly sweet thing and the bitter coffee would cancel each other out? Did not work, so I tossed them both in the trash. $8 for nothing!

Austin H.

Yelp
I came here for breakfast and it was so delicious! I ordered a pastry pop-tart along with the breakfast sandwich, both were fantastic. High quality food in a nice environment. Will definitely go again.

Mike K.

Yelp
They were closed today unexpectedly with no info online. Bummer to make the drive for nothing hope we will hit them again in the future

Breanna M.

Yelp
What a hidden gem in Sonoma! We have lived here for 6 years and I am kicking myself for not trying this sooner. We ordered lots of different breakfast sandwich options which were all fantastic, our absolute favorite though was the ham and cheese croissant. This is hands down the best breakfast spot in town and it will be our new go to place from now on.

James S.

Yelp
We were looking for a bakery in Sonoma, as we drove through. There were few places, but there was high reviews for Sweat Pea Bake Shop. We decided to go here. Before we came here, we looked their online menu. Made a list of items we wanted... when I got there, I began with my first item; didn't have it. Second item, didn't have it. Third item, didn't have it. I asked them so what do you have? All the bake goods and pastries were ones we didn't want, but we ordered them always. The bake goods and pastries looked great.... So we ended up getting the churro chocolate croissant, peach scone, blueberry muffin, regular croissant, etc. Got 7 items. The total price wasnt bad. We came home and tried them. Didn't taste really well. Croissants, scone, and muffin were dry. Was really hard to enjoy the food. Rating Food: 1 Service: 2 Ambiance: n/a Price: 3 Overall: 2 Not coming back here.

Barbara B.

Yelp
Delicious berry crumble and good service. Loved sitting outside. Iced chai was delicious and it was an easy walk from the center of Sonoma

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Lovely service! I called ahead to place an order and it was ready for me when I arrived! The pastries looked incredible, but I was on a mission for coffee so I will definitely be back to try their pastries!

Jim O.

Yelp
Best bakery in Sonoma, no question. Best breakfast burrito I have ever had. The house made blueberry pop tart is cartable.

Mandi F.

Yelp
Swung in on our way out of town for some pastries. They have a super tiny selection, but we got the last morning bun, pistachio scone and churro croissant. Churro and morning bun were super good. Flake and light and super yummy. Pistachio had pistachios on top but it tasted like a lemon scone instead. Still good but was really looking forward to a pistachio flavored one... As for staff and stuff, very friendly staff, bathroom is a single stall, a few seats inside and two tables outside. Note that the inside has their AC cranked. Super cold. Otherwise nice spot, but kinda pricy imo.

Bailqueen C.

Yelp
This is a local, (sorta) hidden gem. The food is outstanding. Always fresh and seemingly farm to table. The baked goods are sweet, savory, soft, flaky, squishy and crumbly. Veggies are always crisp or cooked to perfection. Salad dressing and sauces are very tasty. The weekends aren't crowded like downtown. They make Filipino inspired lunch boxes (not currently) that are unique and definitely not available in the valley other than here. It's wonderful to have a place with different, cultural foods! The portions are huge and the price is right! I F-inch love this place.

Elaine D.

Yelp
Tiny, nondescript 3-star bakery cafe with limited selection of pastries and muffins. I had a pistachio scone with my cappuccino. Real cups. I think it's a California thing. More seating out than in. Dog friendly outside.
