Thai Rolled Ice Cream and Waffles Shop Sweet Charlie’s Opens in Austin-Area | Eater Austin

"I'm noting that Sweet Charlie’s, a Philadelphia-based chain of “Thai-inspired” rolled ice cream and Belgian waffle shops, is opening its first Austin-area location at 2800 South Interstate 35 in Round Rock on Saturday, August 10. The shop lets customers build their own creations starting with an ice cream, yogurt, or vegan base and add ingredients to create flavors like strawberry cheesecake or coffee and donuts; the mixture is chilled on a frozen surface and scraped into rolls before adding free toppings like fruit, chocolate chips, or whipped cream. The ice cream can be served in a cup, in a donut, or on a Belgian waffle, and the shop will also serve milkshakes. Sweet Charlie’s was started in Philadelphia in 2015." - Erin Russell

We loved it. The workers are super friendly Second time coming to Tito Land, and I have to say I love everything about this place. As soon as you walk in, the workers make you feel super welcomed — it really gives small family-business vibes. The place is always clean, the menu has so many cute options, and everything looks freshly made. Last night I got rolled ice cream and mini pancakes and they were so good. My order was messed up at first, but the guy fixed it right away and apologized — no attitude, just great customer service. Overall, Tito Land has officially become my late-night treat spot. I love the vibe, the service, and the sweets. 🍨🥞✨

One of my absolute favorite little sweet spots. They’re open later than the other shops in the area which is great for that after dinner sweet tooth and everything on their menu is freshly made. They usually have one employee working the night shift, so you may have a bit of a wait because everything is made in front of you. But it’s 100% worth it. They have waffles, mini pancakes and crepes in addition to the rolled ice cream and everything we’ve had has been equally good. Homemade whipped cream adds to every item.

We stumbled upon this amazing rolled ice cream shop one day and just keep returning! The service is the best - the rolled ice cream is to die for and I finally tried the crepe. I’m going to have to come twice a week. Once for the crepe and once for the rolled ice cream! Don’t miss your chance at a little bite or heaven made by the sweetest family!

First time here and it wasn’t obvious how to place your order. Might want to work on your menu board to explain the steps to build your order. Very confusing and had to ask multiple questions. The ice cream was really good when it was served. Expensive but very good.

I’ve had ice cream rolls that people don’t roll very well (they’re all broken up or just not rolled properly) but the guy that made my ice cream rolls from here was really good! The ice cream tasted amazing, and it was very clean! Pricey, but worth it!

Super friendly and welcoming staff. We enjoyed watching them make the ice cream, and it was delicious. I thought it was a large serving for the price. Will definitely return!

My favorite new desert spot! They are so friendly and welcoming! It took a few minutes to come out but it came out fresh and was beyond worth the wait! Waffle came out hot and delicious! Took a friend back there tonight and the crepe was even better! Can’t recommend enough!

Yelp
A random discovery after dinner turned out to be a great experience. We walked in to a warm welcome. This place is run by family & friends and they were happy to walk us through the concept of a rolled ice cream. Kids loved watching their treats being created right in front of them. Overall a great vibe and a fun experience. Go treat yourself!

Yelp
This was not our favorite way to enjoy ice cream. It's a cool concept and I like that you can add custom ingredients to the mix, but we didn't care for ice cream rolls and it was super pricey! FYI: Be prepared to wait a good 20-30 minutes for your order They only had two people working and it took forever.
