"Opened in Spring 2022, Sweet Saint is one of the city’s best new ice cream shops, a small, unexpected gem in the heart of the French Quarter. Thoughtful, complex flavor combinations are New Orleans through and through — the St. Pierre flavor, for example, is made with a trifecta of local ingredients: Creole cream cheese, Steen’s cane syrup, and O’Delice French brioche crumbles. The family-owned shop also has a French Truck Coffee chicory flavor, vegan sorbets, and the seasonal Jelly Cone Morten, goat cheese ice cream blended with a jam of the day." - Beth D'Addono, Clair Lorell

Google
This is the BEST ice cream shop you can find. It has a combination of local charm and flavor, the premium ingredient and quality, and the nice people you can see in the shop. They made everything at the back and can you imagine how fresh that is!! We stopped here every day when we in town, so worth it!!!

Google
Hands down the best ice cream I've ever had. Small shop, amazing flavors! Locally owned, locally sourced, seasonal flavors. You can taste the quality of ingredients used in the ice cream, all at very affordable prices. Will absolutely come back.

Google
Amazing ice cream texture and tastes. Fantastic flavor combinations. The service was awesome and we able to try different options before selecting my ice cream. The staff was so proud of their ice creams and happy to supply tastings! This is a need to visit while in NOLA!

Google
Good ice cream at Sweet Saint. I had the “An Ice Cream Names Desire, which is a mixed of different type of chocolates very thick and chewy.

Melissa Staricha

Google
An Ice Cream Named Desire is the stuff of dreams! The chocolate flavor is rich and nuanced with strong caramel notes and the perfect mouthfeel. We also got Chicory n French Truck Coffee as well as a scoop of Bayou Mud. All were fantastic!

Vivian Lin

Google
Sweet Saint Ice Cream is the perfect spot to satisfy all your sugar cravings with their house-made NOLA-inspired ice cream. Rich in creamy texture and crafted with natural ingredients, this ice cream not only delights the palate but also feels gentle on the body.

Nitcha C

Google
I love the place! Their ice cream is the finest. The flavor, texture, mouthfeel, and aftertaste are all worth every single calorie. The owners are very welcome with their hospitality. Thanks so much for brightening up my stay in Nola!

Google
I’m Italian, I love gelato and I’ve eaten it in countless places around the US . This is the BEST I’ve had in this country. Absolute delicious and with natural ingredients (no colorants or other nasty stuff). Real milk. Please do yourself a favor and stop by!

Yelp
One of the best ice-cream places I've personally been to! We walked in on a weekday late afternoon and was greeted by Amy. We were the only ones in the store so got a chance to taste a few flavors off the menu before we ordered: An Ice-Cream Named Desire - Great if you like chocolate flavor ice-cream, I mean, how can you go wrong with chocolate?! "Made with three different chocolates prepared in a rich American/ European style hard ice cream." Chicory n French Truck Coffee - tastes like the ice-cream version of the Kopiko candy if you've had it before. "French Roasted Chicory steeped with locally owned dark roast coffee and freckled with rich milk chocolate." Bayou Mud - great flavor if you like brownies! "Rendition of traditional southern Mississippi Mud made with a combination of our Desire chocolate and marshmallow ice creams laced with house-made caramel ribbons, Louisiana's Caine River pecans, and chunks of gooey brownies" The Mona Lisa - my personal favorite flavor as you can really taste the lavender and blueberry flavors "Lavender, blueberry and Louisiana Citrus in a cream cheese based hard ice cream" Mint Chocolate Chip - classic flavor but was surprisingly delicious. The mint tastes so fresh and is a perfect blend of refreshing and savory. I ended up getting this as well! There are a few seats in the shop but it's not very big, so I'd imagine that the place can be crowded with more customers. This is a nice little ice-cream shop and a big shout out to Amy for her patience with us deciding our flavors. I will definitely return the next time I'm in town!

Yelp
I'm currently waiting for the nola pride parade to get to St Louis Street, so I popped into Sweet Saint to get a cold treat. Saw the sign out front. Vegan ice cream, you say? I'm in. I tried the Ponchatoula strawberry. It has a hint of lime for tang, and while it isn't creamy, it does have a nice smooth texture and is softer than most sorbets. Most of all, it hits you with a bright, fresh pop of flavor, just like eating ripe strawberries in summer--not at all like the typical artificial berry full of red 40. The woman who served me said they're working on a coconut based flavor, which I'm excited about. Sadly, I'm allergic to dairy, so I always appreciate a true ice cream with alternative milk.

Yelp
This gelato shop, man oh man! Okay, let me calm myself down. No matter where I travel, I always love to try and experience ice cream/gelato. Stepping into this shop is a vibe unto itself. The owner is so chill and is passionate about making his gelato! It has a rich organic butter content, so the ice cream has a taste like you have never imagined. Imagine creamy but also thicc, yes with the double C! The owner told me the stories behind each flavor! A plus is that sampled are also available. I ordered a double scoop with #1 chocolate coffee chicory which was so smooth, vibrant and awakened my senses! #2 mint chocolate chip, the mint was very bold and vibrant! This rocked my world! This place is a gem and a must experience when in New Orleans! Cheers to good eats!

Yelp
I was craving ice cream on this hot summer day, so I headed to Sweet Saint near Bourbon Street. It's a cute shop, but it lacks seating options. That was fine with me since I was just grabbing a cup and heading out. I sampled two flavors before deciding to go with a scoop of An Ice Cream Named Desire, which contains three different chocolates. It was creamy and rich; definitely a must try for chocolate lovers!

Austin G.

Yelp
If you're wondering near Bourbon Street and the French Quarter and crave a sweet treat, Sweet Saint is worth stopping into. It's locally made ice cream with flavors like chicory and coffee and bayou mud. My seven-year-old daughter loved tasting the flavors and landing on chocolate in a waffle cone. Staff are friendly.

Jessie T.

Yelp
Not the widest selection of beer but hazy ipa was great everything. Patio is noisy on a main street. Inside is a nice vibe. Bartender was lovely!

Tom L.

Yelp
Amazing locally made ice cream. So delicious and creamy. The staff is so nice and friendly and offered samples (loved that they were metal tasting spoons for the environment). It's a really quaint shop with amazing ice cream a block or so from Bourbon St. We had the bayou mud which was so good.

Deanne M.

Yelp
Had the Ponchatoula and the Marigny - twice in the same day. So good. Great service, too.

Sai V.

Yelp
We needed to get off bourbon street because the heavy smoke was getting to us....we made a right turn on this street and stumbled upon this cute and quaint ice cream shop which was perfect because our kids was asking for ice cream! The flavors were amazing and so creamy! the owner was so nice! It was a great dessert!

Bri J.

Yelp
This was a delightful little stop in our evening. They have small-batch flavors that match what's going on -- I had a Moon Pie flavored kind that was on point. Service was friendly and the scoops were generous. Highly recommend!

Jen L.

Yelp
Great ice cream super yummy. The owners very nice so yummy. Their prices handmade ice cream. This ice cream is so good.

Gill S.

Yelp
A local mom and pop ice cream shop that's slightly off the path of Decatur St that may be the best ice cream you can get in the French quarter! Its truly worth going a few blocks from the main tourist area to get ice cream from here. NO ONE in the immediate area even compares in quality. I ended up with the Mardi Gras Pie and the Mona Lisa flavors. I like that they can give you half scoops instead of insisting on full scoops. Both were excellent and had a great velvety texture. The Mardi Gras Pie felt like a buttery banana pie that was fragrant with everybite. The Mona Lisa was a great mix of lemon and blueberry as well. They don't have the widest selection of ice cream, but it's a small shop, ran by maybe two people(?) but youre bound to find something you like. The owner is super friendly as well.

Selina I.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream in New Orleans and possibly the world! In a city where it's hot as hell for 6 months of the year, finding good ice cream was surprisingly hard until Sweet Saint came along. The ice cream is just too delicious. Awesome flavors (including rotating seasonal flavors) that are just unmatched. The owners are soooo sweet and offer samples (though every flavor is delicious, sampling just makes the decision even harder LOL). It's always a treat coming to the quarter for Sweet Saint!

Manny L.

Yelp
One of the best ice creams I have ever tasted in my life! A cute little shop with friendly staff right off of bourbon street. Highly recommend checking this place out, you won't regret it! Absolute loved the Jacques O Lantern and the Fleur de VaNola. I went to this shop 3 times over the 5 days I was in New Orleans, and I never repeat restaurants. But that was a testament to how tasty this place is. Waffle cone is meh, but handmade ice cream can't be topped in creaminess and unique inclusions. 10/10

Julia X.

Yelp
this small, cute shop serves some tasty ice cream! we got the bayou mud, mona lisa, and the creme de citron. all 3 flavors were delicious but i loved the mona lisa the most, the lavender really comes through on that one. the creme de citron was a spontaneous pick that i ended up really enjoying - the lemon curd is refreshingly tart. the texture of the ice cream is creamy but also very solid and at times i felt like the plastic spoon would break - i enjoy that texture but just a headsup for those who prefer softer ice cream. the people at the shop were very nice and gave us some tips on where to go to eat and explore nola. definitely recommended!

Camly T.

Yelp
Unique handcrafted flavors, one block from Bourbon street so a good stop when you're out in the Quarter. Just a few stools to sit but mostly a place to grab and go on your way

Hana M.

Yelp
The best chocolate ice cream I've ever had! Amazing service and even better ice cream.

Zabrina R.

Yelp
Sweet Saint is a cute, locally owned ice cream shop in the heart of the French quarter. I actually give it 4 1/2 stars just because I've had better elsewhere, but the flavor selection and the quality of the ingredients make it a refreshing stop if you're on tour of the quarter it's all homemade and I really enjoyed sampling all the flavors local to the city! I tried the lavender flavor with the Bayou Mud, and both were very potent in their flavors; I wanted the Bayou Mud have a little more crunch to it but overall they were lovely.

John O.

Yelp
Are you someone who travels looking for local, homemade ice cream? Me too, so I already did the searching, found, and tried this place for you, and it's the real deal. The guy who serves you is also the guy who makes and names the ice cream (so I presume the owner?) Follow your flavor profile, but every flavor I tried was delicious, this is great quality ice cream.

Tami R.

Yelp
Amazing flavors and service. We stopped everyday during our vacation. The bayou mud is amazing. The Mint Chocolate Chip is like nothing else I have tried before, amazing!

Ashton S.

Yelp
Easily a favorite ice cream spot of mine. I work in the area and found this place a little while back. The owners are pleasant and warm. The ice cream is amazing. They have great seasonal options that roll around. Sometimes the flavor combinations seem funny, but they work very well. Also, I try to make sure I save some for my wife, but it just magically disappears before I get home. If you're in the Quarter, give them a try. The Bayou Mud & Creme De Citron are personal favorites.

Catherine M.

Yelp
This ice cream was amazing and may be the best homemade ice cream I have ever had. They allow you to sample the flavors, I wasn't even planning on getting ice cream when I entered, my friends had wanted some, but once I tried it, I could not resist. I had the creme de citron and it was amazing and so unique. The server said it was his favorite and I absolutely agree. The service was great! There was not really any indoor seating but it was nice to walk around with the ice cream on a hot day.

Richard R.

Yelp
Best coffee ice cream anywhere. lovely, welcoming owners. Fabulous location off Bourbon Street.

Dona P.

Yelp
HOLY ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The coffee flavor had the kick in the teeth you want when you order coffee flavored anything ! It was so full bodied and flavorsome I really didn't want to share ! Then the TEXTURE !!!!! The ice cream was soft and velvety, not at all icy or hard or grainy. You can TOTALLY tell it's small batch because if you've had homemade ice cream before, you can taste the difference. I also loved that it wasn't sugary sweet- the ingredients and flavors shine forward for themselves. I hope the owner get's the business he deserves and get's things like home delivery set up! it's a MUST VISIT !

Alisha S.

Yelp
This is one of those places where ice cream is fine dining. The owner clearly puts his heart and talents into making gourmet ice cream that pays homage to its surroundings. I went twice in just three days. Started with the chicory coffee cart and ended with a seasonal flavor of mango and coconut. Oh boy, oh boy. Next time, the lemon curd. The owner is so kind and hands out samples to make your decision as difficult as possible. Little mini silver spoons that get washed--yay eco friendly!

Susan P.

Yelp
Exquisite Ice Cream!! The most unique flavor combinations anywhere!! Lovely, locally sourced ingredients in luscious, creamy, decadent ice cream. Friendly proprietors offer background info on the flavor combinations plus samples, if desired. ABSOLUTELY MUST VISIT anytime you're in NOLA!!

Al Y.

Yelp
Cute place with delicious ice cream! The owner is very nice too. I got the Christmas special flavor with cherries, salted caramel, and walnuts, and it was great. The owner even scooped a little extra cherry on top of my ice cream

Saba Q.

Yelp
Amazing unique depth of flavors. Each flavor has a story behind it, ask the owners they are so kind and will share the history. The bayou mud and jelly cone morten together are a twist on neapolitan you will not regret. Must visit for the decadent flavors and the thought behind this gem.

Pamela B.

Yelp
Came here during the free walking food tour of the French quarter. We tried the Chicory n French Truck Coffee and The Northern Most State of the Caribbean. Both of the flavors were thick and delicious an amazing. I really wanted to try The Ponchatoula but unfortunately it was sold out. This was a great stop on our food tour and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to try delicious ice cream. Amazing.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
As very rich and creamy ice cream in the heart of the French quarter. Almost too rich! We ordered Streetcar named desire which was chocolate. It was top tier, but soo rich I couldn't finish it. Limited flavors but I think they are handmade.

Dilu A.

Yelp
Super clean and the gentleman was helpful with assisting me making my selection. I tried the chocolate and got a scoop on a waffle cone

Karen S.

Yelp
Unique flavors. The staff is friendly, but quick to serve so they sometimes skip over people in line.

Llew L.

Yelp
Back in NOLA again to escape the northern s**w. Went to Louis Armstrong Park for an event. Knew just where I wanted to go next. Sweet Saint! Kenneth, the owner, recognized me immediately! Surprising as he hadn't seen me since last March. Sat and waited until the customers who were already there were served. I tried a new flavor. Can't remember what it's called (doh!) but it's made with goat cheese and, I think, homemade jam. OMGoodness! Amazing! Of course, I had to get my fave, Bayou Mud. Apparently, that's their best seller. Rich chocolate ice cream with bits of marshmallow, brownies and pecans. Yum! Not only is the ice cream fantastic but the owners, Kenneth and his wife, Florecita, are so nice! During one of the few times that we were the only ones in the shop, we had a very pleasant conversation. They even recommended a place where my friend can get vegetarian rice and beans. The shop is only a couple of blocks from Jackson Square. If you love ice cream like I do, it's definitely worth the short walk! Here is a link to an article about Sweet Saint. Describes its origins and how they work to make quality ice cream with a NOLA touch. https://www.frenchquarterjournal.com/archives/local-boy-makes-good-ice-cream-sweet-saint Enjoy!

Yelp
I was expecting better as most reviews were raves. But to my disappointment the ice cream was not great. Creamy yea great not so much.

Natalie F.

Yelp
While strolling around Bourbon Street in New Orleans, we stumbled upon an icecream shop that happened to be a local family-owned ice cream shop. Upon entering the place was small but the lady was kind and offered us samples. The Mona Lisa flavor was my favorite. I love places with unique flavors and this was the place! Each bite transported me to a world of pure indulgence :) this hidden gem a must-visit for ice cream enthusiasts seeking unique and unforgettable flavors. I am happy we came across it!

Midhat P.

Yelp
I had just eaten a pretty heavy fried shrimp meal, and I was looking for some good ice cream to wash it down. I found this place on Yelp and It did not disappoint. I wanted to try something that was unique. They had chicory root coffee ice cream with milk chocolate, and it was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend and would be happy to come back here anytime. The shop itself really nice and clean. The service was also awesome and they explained all the New Orleans-specific flavors.

Nick ..

Yelp
5 stars across the board. Incredible fresh flavors made with real, high quality ingredients. Delicious and fun but not pretentious. We were helped by Florecita, a co owner of the store who was wonderfully kind, informative, and helpful. We sampled just about everything they had. The Mona Lisa was our choice and it was wonderful. Although, we sampled the Bayou Mud and despite that not usually the type of flavor we go for, we'll probably have to go back tomorrow to get a full scoop.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
I thought I was buying an ice cream cone but what I got was a scoop of heaven. Is this what love tastes like? yes it is.

Nikki R.

Yelp
We were visiting NO during a 100+ degree heat wave so this place was a sweet life saver!! During our 4 day stay in the city this is the only place we visited twice because --it's THAT GOOD! Had the Bayou Mud --glorious chocolate indulgence with caramel, pecans and hunks of brownie!! Next visit had the Mardi Gras Pie--bananas and moon pies deelish! (That one is more seasonal so lucky you if you get to try it!) The owner Kenny is friendly and his passion for making great ice cream is a sweet treat for the rest of us! Definitely worth finding this place--and visit it often during your stay!

Kat P.

Yelp
The dad and daughter running this shop are absolutely the sweetest. They will let you try everyone of their flavors!! Literally every single one. Dad makes the magic in the back with really unique flavors and brings in local ingredients. It's a very cute small shop but really welcoming. Please what ever you do do not miss it!!!! You'll regret it!! Go Beat the Heat with their ice cream!!!! P.S try ponchatoula and marigny together. You'll be addicted!!!

Cheree P.

Yelp
The best ice cream I have ever had! My friend and I got six different flavors (half scoops!) everything was delicious! The shop itself was very clean. The owner was very kind and being it was a wendsday afternoon we got to talk to him a bit. Just a lovely experience - we are local and will definitely be back!

Anne M.

Yelp
Best ice cream in New Orleans!!! These small business owners love what they do and it shows through. Can't wait to return!

Kenji O.

Yelp
Wow, some of the best handmade ice cream I've ever had! All three flavors were simply amazing! It's clear the sole proprietor, also working the counter, clearly has a passion for his craft as he describes the flavors and ingredients to products!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Amazinggg ice cream in FQ, some of the best ive ever had. The owner churns each batch himself and the flavors are so unique and strong. I really liked the french truck coffee one and the cream cheese jam one. Can't recommend enough

Jessica S.

Yelp
The owner here and her daughter are so sweet! They gave us knowledge about NOLA and facts about places. They let us sample a few flavors for free. We got the marshmallow ice cream with chocolate which my fiancé ate most of it lol. It was very creamy and sweet. They have unique flavors of ice cream and sorbet that you can't get anywhere else. No wonder this place has 5 stars!

Rosie R.

Yelp
Best ice cream I've ever had! Came back two days in a row. Will be back every time I come to New Orleans!

Lori M.

Yelp
The ice cream was amazing! They let you sample to decide what you want. The ice cream is homemade small batch. The woman working was so friendly. We want to go back and try more before we head home!

Kendra R.

Yelp
Eclectic flavors and all homemade! high quality dairy right down the street from Bourbon. It made a great mid-day snack

Colin L.

Yelp
Walked in for our first time today. We were greeted by the owner operator who told us all about the passion he puts into each of his flavors and shared his personal favorites. Tasting spoons were provided and plenty of samples were shared which we both appreciated. Always worth it to go to a small shop with handmade ice cream. This is on our list forever and we will tell everyone about it. Cheers and thanks for a perfect sweet treat

J G.

Yelp
I've been lucky enough to have ice cream from some of the best places that exist in the country, and this is hands-down, the best I've ever had. Staff was really friendly and kind, and the flavors were absolutely phenomenal. Every single flavor was so spot on and delicious. I wanted one scoop of them all. I ended up with the cucumber basil sorbet, which I could've bathed in, was so good. An absolute gem!!
