Back in NOLA again to escape the northern s**w. Went to Louis Armstrong Park for an event. Knew just where I wanted to go next. Sweet Saint!
Kenneth, the owner, recognized me immediately! Surprising as he hadn't seen me since last March.
Sat and waited until the customers who were already there were served. I tried a new flavor. Can't remember what it's called (doh!) but it's made with goat cheese and, I think, homemade jam. OMGoodness! Amazing!
Of course, I had to get my fave, Bayou Mud. Apparently, that's their best seller. Rich chocolate ice cream with bits of marshmallow, brownies and pecans. Yum!
Not only is the ice cream fantastic but the owners, Kenneth and his wife, Florecita, are so nice! During one of the few times that we were the only ones in the shop, we had a very pleasant conversation. They even recommended a place where my friend can get vegetarian rice and beans.
The shop is only a couple of blocks from Jackson Square. If you love ice cream like I do, it's definitely worth the short walk!
