We were heading to San Diego and decided to check out Carlsbad on our way. We had never been before and enjoyed our time there especially our stop at Sweet Spot. As I told the owner, Richard, my standard for a candy shop is they must have the original small Smarties. Imagine my delight when I found them in a bin with Nerds, my other go-to candy. And Richard mentioned that it was his decision to pair the Smarties and Nerds. Well done. They have a great selection and the cashew turtle I had was perfect. My sweet tooth was satisfied.

Google
Nice lunch spot near the Carslbad beaches. A friend invited me over one weekend. I loved the Thai curry rice soup more than the sandwich, but both items were good eats.

Google
What more can I say. The entire family came here to get spoiled for the variety of ice cream/treats available. AND, we did - so sweet !!

Google
The Sandwich was outstanding better than the Surrounding area shops, staff friendly were visiting here from out of state. When we return we'll be back. Try them out Have the Turkey loaded an then try some yogurt.

Ropl

Google
Convenient mom and pop place for ice cream, yogurt, sandwiches, coffee etc. Price in yogurt better than kitty corner across in the shopping plaza. Indoor and outdoor seatings.

Google
The customer service there was terrible. I want free ice cream for life because of what they did to my son. Aziel and me will never go back.

Google
We love this place! Employees are always friendly. The newest manager is extremely knowledgeable and great with kids. Go here for the best ice cream & candy in the area!

Delicious flavours of frozen yogurt and some of the nicest staff I've ever encountered. Includes a dairy-free option (pineapple), which is great for those of us who are lactose intolerant.

Yelp
Super cute shop! Honestly. It had some unique candy, soda, & snack options as well as homemade chocolates there. They also have Thrifty ice cream & self-serve candy bags. The service was really nice & the store itself was very clean. The only reason they gave 4 instead of 5 in my opinion is because some of the souvenir type of snacks & candies were a bit overpriced. But still, if you're not from Carlsbad & want a cute candy shop experience, stop by there. Literally right up the walkway from the beach.

Yelp
It was so great to walk and see all the nostalgic candy's from hard candy's you see anymore to good chocolates and bottle caps, to gummy's of every shape and flavors. It was so nicer see all the colors of the rainbow of candy's from lollipops candy's with toys. The best shop to have a smiling face really talking to you And laughing with as she make up our ice creams Mocha almond fudge, & chocolate peanut butter for and mine was 1 scoop of mint chip Thirfty ice cream has good flavors I also their Coconut pineapple too next time at this cute sweet shop

Yelp
I was standing in line with my son at the shop waiting to buy a candy. This older woman, who was not in line, was getting help from a store clerk with some chocolates in the display case and she seemed to think this entitled her to cut in line ahead of me when she had made her selections. I was already standing in line and I asked her not to cut in line ahead of me. Instead of apologizing, she got angry and started insulting me under her breath. The store clerk, however, recognized that I had been standing in line and made a point of ringing us up first. I did not engage with this woman though and she looked pretty stupid. I appreciate the store clerk not being intimidated by this female though. Thank you!

Yelp
Stuck here for 30 minutes!! After dinner at Jay's across the street we wandered into this candy shop. My wife found her favorite watermelon jelly and chocolate raisin. Love their back patio! Super friendly staff. Nice family store. We sat there on the bench enjoying a nice evening ocean breeze eating candies. Loving Carlsbad Village vibes!

Yelp
This candy shop is a block from the beach with a variety of candy galore!! They serve Thrifty Ice Cream by the scoop. a must stop whilst in Carlsbad.

Yelp
The first time I had a sandwich from here, I was incredibly impressed and fell in love with the place. Unfortunately, this last time was awful. The woman making my sandwich acted like she'd rather be doing anything else than helping me. I got an Italian Sub with Pepperoncini and Greens. The pepperoncini and greens were not even throughout the sandwich so I had to move them around myself. There was soo much juice from the pepperoncini that it completely soaked one of the bread slices before I even got it eat it less than 5 mins later. The woman also didn't heat it up though I had asked. So I had to turn around and ask her after it was completely made. She threw the whole sandwich into the oven to heat up and didn't take off the pepperoncini or greens before doing so meaning the bread got even more soaked than before. I waited over 5 mins for it to heat up, but when she gave it back to me, it was still 75% cold. At this point, I was soo tired of her, that I just left and ate it as it was, which was terrible. The place is cute, but the service and execution is terrible.

Yelp
The sweet spot is such a fun place with yummy candy and delicious ice cream. The store owners and all the staff are so friendly and quick with excellent customer service. They make each customer feel so special. You must check out this amazing store

Yelp
I got a bunch of the cherry cordials yesterday, spent 40$, and the chocolate tastes old there are some newer that still taste nasty but you can see the inside is literally dried up I'm disgusted right now and of course I tried them when I already got home from vacation I should've tried while I was there and taken them back.

Yelp
If you have a sweet tooth, want to find some great ice cream or candy, this place can't be beat. Family owned, extremely nice people, and extraordinary options for a date night, family outing, or a sweets lover. TRY THIS PLACE when in Carlsbad!!!

Yelp
The Sweet Spot is amazing. My kids absolutely loved this place. They have every fun candy and ice cream you could ever imagine. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Literally the most fun place to experience in Carlsbad. We will be stopping in every time we visit Carlsbad.

Yelp
We just moved to the area last year & have loved everyone and everything we have come across in Carlsbad this year. Except the Sweet Spot candy shop in Carlsbad. I took my 3 kids to the beach and they couldn't wait to go there. We went outside and my 10 year olds spray iceee candy exploded all over her and her favorite pants. She was crying and a mess. I went back in to buy another one for $3. Then the man says no take another one and I thought he was so nice until he said " as long as you bring the other one back & throw it in the trash so I can see it"! Seriously you actually accused me of stealing a $3 candy which I walked in & offered to buy I never asked for another one. I do however think instead of accusing his customer that just spent $25 on candy and ice cream of stealing he might of asked how my child was & if he could offer a napkin or replace her $90 dollar pants that his blue candy he is selling ruined. We found the one piece of coal Carlsbad has to offer out of all of the golden nuggets who have been so nice to us!!! Our old candy store was Rocket Fizz in San Clemente where they knew us by name Sweet Spot could use some etiquette lessons...

Yelp
Loved the flow and candy choices. They had fun options for kids. Ice cream was delicious too! We will be back for sure!

Ella G.

Yelp
Bell was amazing! She was so nice and helpful! She was also super funny and had great customer service. I also showed her what Swedish candy was and she was so down to try and add it to the shop. She needs a raise!

Yelp
Little shop tucked away, looks like a family owned shop. Yogurt, ice cream and deli are what they offer. Me and my husband got a double scoop of black cherry and almond espresso fudge ice cream. They do give a huge serving, so it is good for sharing. I do recommend to try out this place.

Yelp
Super cute little yogurt and sandwich spot. We had lunch across the street and stopped here for something sweet. The lady who was working was incredibly kind to my son who had just won his first baseball tournament and was SO EXCITED to show off his ring. This is the place that makes you happy to spend your money. Loved it. We didn't stay to eat inside but they have tables and it's a nice family feel inside if you do stay. Thanks so much to Linda's staff.

Yelp
Such a cute spot! Perfect upgrade to a classic family favorite. My kids loved it and called it the Candy Castle. Tons of choices - candy, truffles, chocolates, ice cream, bulk, candy toys, Pez. They have it all. A new favorite in Carlsbad Village. Definitely make this a nightly treat stop!

James B.

Yelp
A great place for kids and adults to indulge their tastes. Try the ice cream and check out the plastic spoon - very cool (or hot?). Employee Jennifer is very helpful AND she is a local (raised in Carlsbad) who can answer your Carlsbad questions. Convenient location next to Carlsbad Inn.

Yelp
We walk in and the two working, it seemed like an arguing couple. I thought to myself as she was shaking her head and sitting on the counter after I had left and came back because our smoothie, their pick two fruits and one add-in, was the dullest flavored Strawberry and Banana, add-in Almond Milk 16oz boring, and waste of my money I have spent in a long time. If I had better customer service and/or maybe even a care from these two, a young lady and gentlemen, about how it tasted, or if I was satisfied and maybe even a little care as to why I wanted to add sugar to my drink, all by myself, by hand, having to stir it in and have the young lady still sitting on the counter and they discuss whatever was more important together, rather then pay any attention to a dissatisfied customer. I worked in the hospitality industry when I was young. Not once did I sit on a counter, and act as if I was too good to help my paying customers, much less help out a paying dissatisfied and more importantly, a hopefully wanting to return customer, which in this case we won't be returning and I normally wouldn't have posted this negative feed back, but I wouldn't want anyone else to have to experience this unprofessional manner of customer service. There is nothing good that comes from a place, that you upon walking on has a negative energy coming straight across the counter to you, a happy, smiling, joyful customer, experiencing the pull of my smile turning into a frown, because it was a completely draining upon walking in this, I can imagine normally happy and upbeat mom and pop yogurt and sandwich shop. We asked the flavors and weren't offered any samples, it was almost as if we bothered them to be there asking what they had to offer. The girl in particular seemed to have the bigger attitude, where they man seems to be at least a tad more responsive and wore a smile when he spoke... it didn't last long, but at this point we were willing to take that, not knowing at the time, it would only get worse. It truly saddens me to see two people not representing a company in the manner they should, as if they aren't humbled and grateful for their jobs and what they signed up to do. If they are dating, this all makes sense otherwise it was just awkward and rude... I would spend a dime in here if I had known how disappointed we would be. Good luck if you venture here... We sure hope after this review, just maybe things will be a bit better, at the least, the attitude and possibly smiling happy faces is what you will see when try out this cute little joint out!!

Yelp
Stopped by to grab some ice scream and sandwich. I ordered a Turkey sandwich with the toppings on the side ( buying for someone else so I didn't know if they would like everything on the sandwich). The cashier made a weird face at me and quickly asked the other women behind the counter if they could do it like that. Her attitude was unpleasant. I told her that if she's charging me $9 for a sandwich with it w/o toppings I should be able to request them on the side with no problem. It's not such a special request. They both started speaking in Spanish. I also speak Spanish little did they know. The women told me that she would have to put all the toppings and sandwich in the same container. (I'm guessing to not spend another container ) I told her that was fine. We got the sandwich it literally had two thin slices of Turkey and very dry bread. Also had one scoop of ice cream. ** tiny scoop for $3.99 !!! Don't waste your money! It's not worth it, poor service and lack of food quality.

Yelp
WHAT a "SWEET SPOT" for candy, yogurt and ice cream! Reminds me of the candy shop at Farrell's (if you remember Farrell's you will appreciate the amazing nostalgic candy selection here.). Love the bright upbeat vibe and friendly service! My husband loved his ice cream and really appreciated the abundance of sprinkles that were so gladly given! Love this place! Great experience for entire family !
google avatar

Yelp
We absolutely love this place! We have been stopping by here for years, but the changes with the new owners have been amazing! The ice cream is delicious, so many different types of candy, and everyone who works here is so incredibly friendly!

Yelp
I was craving ice cream after the burger joint. As I walked in, I see it was packed with people. I ended up getting a banana split. Three scoops of my ice cream were vanilla, strawberry and birthday cake. It was surrounded by a banana cut in half drizzled with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, sprinkles of peanuts and three cherries on top. So sweet and delicious. I managed to make room for this. I like the decor inside. Very cute. Three guys were working the shop and taking orders. They even have a crane game inside the shop which I thought was cool. There were a few tables inside to enjoy your ice cream or yogurt. They don't weigh your yogurt like other places. They actually put toppings and charge a flat fee for the sizes of the yogurt. Afterwards, I needed to use the restroom so you have to ask for the key. The guy told me to go upstairs as there are restrooms upstairs. The restrooms were clean.

Madi E.

Yelp
The owners were very friendly and went above and beyond with service. We happened to come just as they closed and they served our group anyways. Thank you for the yummy ice cream and helping our family make memories!

Yelp
Friendly, cozy little deli shoo with frozen yogurt. Visited here a few times- always nice and mellow stop for some goodies before and/or after the beach. Frozen yogurt is good with some great topping options. Recommend

Yelp
Here for fro-yo and ice cream but here the chicken sandwich is good. Would have given 5 stars if staff used gloves.
google avatar

Austin Dakota M.

Yelp
Brenda was hilarious and filled with positive energy. Delicious ice cream! Sit in the back seating area and find a nice vintage phone booth! So much fun and great prices.

Erin C.

Yelp
Great bubble gum ice cream! Price was reasonable and service was good. They have ice cream, frozen yogurt, sandwiches, and açaí bowls!
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
I only walked into this place for 30 seconds, so I can't comment on the service since my husband ordered and paid. They offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, smoothies, froyo, and ice cream. The froyo isn't self-serve. Everything is behind the counter, including the toppings. We opted for some ice cream and it's Dreyers. That's always good. The reason I was only in the store for 30 seconds is because it's dreadfully hot in there. Also, there's no room to maneuver a stroller. It's a small venue and the tables are cramped, so if someone is sitting at a table, you can't turn your stroller around. 3 ice creams- one mint chocolate chip, one strawberry cheesecake, and one nestle toll house (which is really chocolate chip cookie dough). Total price was 7 dollars and some change.

Yelp
Stopped in to Linda's on a quick trip to Carlsbad. Had great frozen yogurt and ice cream, quick and friendly service from Max!

Julie D.

Yelp
We showed up at 5 mins after they had closed and the owners were starting to clean up. They saw us standing at the door, my Hubbys birthday and had family here from the UK. They opened the doors, said come on in and served us delicious ice creams, they were so friendly, got a birthday candle and sang with us. Kudos to a local owned biz, what it's all about. Thank you from all of us. You made our night.

Yelp
The menu is not large but gives a decent choice to choose from. I ordered two sandwiches, Turkey & Cheese and Turkey, Cheese & Avocado. They were good size sandwiches and very good and fresh tasting. The two girls working the counter were very nice. I would come back again if I'm in the area.

Eric F.

Yelp
Cool little candy/ice cream shop. Kids loved it they wanted everything. They also have some unique hard to find treats. We met the owner she was very nice and friendly. It's nice being able to support your local small business owner. I highly recommend.

Yelp
We've been coming here through the years of Linda, Brenda, unknown owners, and now Amy!! What a job well done on the inside and a great personality to boot! I love her passion for people, her faith, and just letting things go into God's hands and work hard to transform a once small little ice cream dive by the Carlsbad area beach/ocean, to a sweets & ice cream MUST visit if you're in the general area!

Yelp
Stopped in here as I was waiting to go to a house viewing and I had 45 minutes to kill... and hey, who doesn't want a smoothie when you have time to kill right? Decent parking, there seem to be a perpetual 1-3 spots free... I came by at 3pm on a Tuesday though, so ... take that into account. The atmosphere here seems to be laid back, costal and maybe something out of the beach cities of the 70's ... I feel like the people from Three's company would get a smoothie here. I got a Peach/Mango smoothie with protein and almond milk with coconut yogurt in it too... cost $5.50... SAAAAY WHAT? Cheap. And guess what, tasted redonkulously good. Smooth and natural not chemical like Jamba Juice... (Not that I don't also do Jamal's... but for reference) I am giving it a 5 for the simple reason I haven't had a good smoothie in so long - they delivered and reap the whirlwind of a 5 star rating from someone who only gives a 5 to the BEST! Good job Oh and LIIINNNNDDDAAA... you're not listening ... no no listen Liiiinnnnnddddaaa... (see YouTube if you don't get it)

Yelp
Nice little shop near the beach. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. We got two custom made banana splits and got to choose what three flavor of ice cream we wanted. We were very happy with our banana splits. We will be back when we are in the area.

Dave R.

Yelp
Lots of delicious options and they are adding hot chocolate soon. We love this place!

Yelp
They serve yummy frozen yogurt in a waffle cone. The coconut yogurt makes a great summer treat. The staff even kidnly topped off my water bottles with water and ice. I love it!

Riley K.

Yelp
3.99 for one scoop, asked for sprinkles and I barely got any on top. Ice cream is pretty good tho
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Pretty decent place for a late night treat. We got double waffle cones $4.50. Dreyers ice cream so you know what you are getting. Part of me wanted to just drive to the store and buy a half gallon for the same price. Anyhow, the Rocky road was good. The peanut butter was alright, only one peanut butter cup in it. The almond praline was my favorite. The only thing was the ice cream was soooo soft it started to melt immediately. The waffle cone was great too.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Located close to the beach off of Carlsbad village dr and Carlsbad Blvd. I came here with my kids. I got the veggie wrap and my son got the turkey bacon and cheese. He pretty much inhaled his sandwich and loved it. The sandwich was huge! My veggie wrap was absolutely delicious. Upon receiving it I thought it looked a little small, but it was actually the perfect size- super filling and no leftovers to carry around afterwards. It's a smaller venue with not a ton of room inside but there is additional seating outside or you can take your sandwich to go and head to the beach! The staff is super friendly and helpful too. It will be our new spot to go to when we are in Carlsbad.
google avatar

Neeta S.

Yelp
Linda's has become one of my new favorite spots to go to in Carlsbad Village. The food is delish, service is friendly, has fair prices and the spot is amazing. It's a beach themed cafe and yogurt spot with I've cream as well! It's a quick 5 minute walk to the beach as well as the local shops. Today I ordered the turkey avocado on a croissant with all their veggies. This was by far the fattest and most filling croissant sandwich I have ever had. My husband who is not a fan of sandwiches also enjoyed the sandwich here, and that's saying a lot! We will definitely be coming back here often.
google avatar

SD G.

Yelp
My kids were crazing for froyo after dinner but we were lazy to walk to there other places and this place is right next door. They got ice cream scooper like vanilla and rocky road in a cone. They have a deli place, but it's only 1 person working so it's a little of a wait. But this is not a place I would deliberately come and get ice cream or hang out.
google avatar

Tim R.

Yelp
Stopped by for sandwiches for the family. Linda was super nice and served up great sandwiches. Yogurt was great also. Great place to stop by for a meal or a treat! Thanks!
google avatar

Demetra B.

Yelp
We love Linda's and love to support this local (legendary) business. The ice cream is always great and the service is A+.
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
Linda's is one of the best when you are walking around the Carlsbad Village area and need just a quick and simple bite! Located very close to the beach front, it's great to grab a sandwich from here and just dip your toes into the sand. Their sandwich choices are amazing. One of my personal favorites in the BLT and grab a smoothies as well!! YUMMM!!!!
google avatar

Quynh T.

Yelp
HUGE SANDWICHES, made to order. Honestly, one half of the sandwich is filling enough for a meal. I always order the turky-avo-cheese on squaw bread, never disappointed! But the service here is incredibly slow. Whenever I've been, there's only been one person working, sometimes two. And the employees have to split their time between serving ice cream, making drinks, taking orders and making sandwiches. And the sandwiches take seemingly forever to make, but I know a lot of ingredients and care goes into the whole process. And the end product definitely makes it worth the wait. And should I mention the location?! Linda's is like a 2 minute walk to the beach. Take your ice cream and/or sanwich to-go and enjoy it on the sand!
google avatar

Alyssa W.

Yelp
This place is awesome! So cute and smells like delicious waffle cones from outside, we have absolutely no complaints. Along with the amazing customer service and friendliness from Miles, he also made us a perfectly layered sandwich that was almost enough to fill up both me and my husband! We will definitely be back! :)
