This is my first time eating at a vegetarian/vegan buffet restaurant. My first impression was lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Drinks and desserts are included in the price ($18 for adult dinner, children price is based on age). There is a shaved ice machine and lots of toppings available to make your favorite shaved ice dessert. Drinks include tea, coffee, milk tea, and winter melon tea. You can add boba to make it a boba drink. The vegetarian dishes are flavorful but some are a bit oily (in my opinion). There are several dining rooms (a very big one and a few smaller ones). This is a 100% self-serve buffet where you have to get your own plate, drinks, utensils, and napkins. You also have to put your dirty dishes away in the collection room (just like a college dining hall). Tips are not required since you're serving yourself. There's a store inside to the left of the buffet where you can buy vegetarian and vegan food and drink. There are also lots of frozen vegetarian and vegan items for sale. The restaurant is surprisingly huge inside. Plenty of parking outside. I think the overall price is reasonable considering it includes drinks and desserts. They also offer free vegetarian cooking classes. The free cooking classes schedule is displayed on each dining table.

Pretty good value and variety of dishes! I would go early 1-2pm to enjoy the food at its freshness. It’s a bit oily but fine. The staff was friendly, since it was our first time, the owner took its time to explain us how it worked and show us around. They have an inside market so all the products you eat you can buy uncooked right at the spot. There is no tip, it’s net prize which is great. It seems clean and organized. They had many beverage options and even tacos and pizza. I would come back.

Google
Simple restaurant, but great variety of vegetarian food to choose from. More of a self service place but week maintained. Old style type Taiwanese buffet. Nice calm vibe. About $17-18 per adult.

Looking for a vegetarian buffet with a mini market? Must stop by! BRING A MASK! Or you’ll have to pay 25 cents for one. Walk in and pay. They have prices on the door outside. You’ll get seated and you’ll have a letter and number so you’ll know which table is yours. It’s quite big inside! Grab your plates etc and once you’re done with your plate, there’s a place for you to put your dirty plate, bowl, cups! Don’t leave it at your table. Drinks: they have different drinks and you can make boba milk tea as well! They have so many food options! My favorite were the flavored tofu dishes! So good!! Soup as well. It’s all very flavorful. Nothing bland. Best part is the the dessert! Shaved ice! They didn’t have bowls so I just used cups for my dessert. Parking: come early because they fill up fast! Highly recommend this spot!

I love this place. We celebrate here often. The entire place is vegetarian with many vegan options. From sushi rolls to tacos to traditional Chinese cuisine there's something for everyone. Sadly, the owner told me that this location will close before the New Year (2025) due to issues with their lease. Go while you can.

If your vegan/vegetarian, love traditional Chinese dishes and affordable high quality buffets, and if you don’t eat onion and garlic for any reason, this is your place!! They even make their own kimchi using ginger instead of garlic. My husband and I are cult-level obsessed with Sweet Veggie. The food is always fresh and well prepared, plus many options for whatever fits your mood.

Google
Great all you can eat with all vegetarian options! I went there on the first day of lunar new year and it was packed with people. Pretty sure it was understaffed and food did not come out to the buffet section as quick. It costs $17.99 per person on weekend. They also offer other vegetarian snacks, noodles, and frozen foods right by the entrance! Overall, great experience

Google
We had weekend lunch here and for the price we paid, less than $20/person for buffet weekend lunch, we didn't expect too much and no complain. We probably had to pay the same price (or more) if going to a regular vegetarian restaurant anyways. We came right about the time they opened for lunch, around 11:35am. No long line yet and it was pretty empty inside. We lined up and paid for our lunch. The receipt printed the section and table number. We walked towards the back of the restaurant passing their buffet counters. Some food sections were still closed off and not serving any food. Currently, there were only 2 big counters serving food and drinks. Food wise is average but there were many choices. The drink and cool dishes section were placed together. If I remember correctly they have 4 different cold drink - black tea, wintermelon tea, milk tea, passion fruit green tea. There were toppings that you can add to your drinks, like boba, jelly, etc. I had two plates of different items and I was full by the end. We left around 1pm and the restaurant is now full of people and there was a line waiting to pay and dine. There is a grocery food section where you can buy vegetarian items. There are plenty of choices, line vegetarian instant noodles, different types of drinks, sauces, dried ingredients, ice-cream and more. I live in OC area, so it is a long way drive for me to come here. I don't mind stopping by again if I am in the hood.

Yelp
UPDATE on 1/2/25: Sweet Veggie announced on their FB page that this location was going to shut down on 12/29/24. I will definitely try to support whatever location they find next. As far as to my knowledge, this is the largest Sweet Veggie out of a mini chain of smaller locations in LA county that serves Taiwanese vegetarian food. As my family and I really enjoy going to a Sweet Veggie location on Nogales St. as well as a former location in Walnut so visiting the larger El Monte location felt inevitable. The location itself feels like it used to be a larger dim sum restaurant and to be frank, it does not feel completely refurbished - the carpet looks old and the walls feel like a need a newer paint job. If anything, it feels like Sweet Veggie moved right in after this building was in a period of disuse for a couple of years. But there are rules here that keep this location neat and orderly, which include minimizing noise and keeping your hands clean in the buffet area. Service here is minimal, you pay and just go. That being said, there's no doubt you will be hard pressed to find a larger variety of tasty vegetarian food anywhere around as well as a larger buffet space for it too. I really enjoyed everything - the salads, unlimited teas, veggie meats, curry on rice, noodles, multitude of soups, and desserts were all great comfort food. Regarding the latter, who is going to say no to a shaved ice machine? The bonus is that the Sweet Veggies also double as a small market for vegetarian goods to be bought and it goes without saying this location has a particularly larger market due to its size. Parking felt ample and for $18 bucks an adult, I definitely had more than my fair share of food. If you're a vegetarian, or have a meatless day on the calendar, and most importantly, you're super hungry, this is the place to go!

Yelp
Best vegan buffet around. Doesn't feel it's vegan. With the all you can drink boba options is awesome.

Yelp
3.3 stars I really wanted to like this place because so much of their food is handmade & vegan/vegetarian. But, I think this place just falls short in variety & customer service, especially since they're priced so high. To me, the best dishes were their string bean & potato stir-fry & mapo mushroom tofu. Their Taiwanese mushroom sour soup, fried rice (mix of white & brown rice), & fried rice cakes were pretty decent. Different, but decent. Their dumplings were actually pretty great texturally, but the filling was a bit bland & could use a bit more seasoning. Their eggrolls were also ok - crunch factor was there, but there were just too many layers of eggroll wrap which made it chewier than necessary. What I didn't really like was their salad & taco station. It was just very bare, sparse, & lacking. The dessert station was mildly interesting w/ all the usual toppings for a tea drink or ice dessert. However, the beverages were not great. The flavored green tea was confusing...I didn't know what flavor it was. The milk tea was watered down instant milk tea? They definitely had other vegetable stir-fry dishes along with some fake meats made from gluten. Notably, they had braised tofu with basil, mantou, mushroom sticky rice, & bok choy. Overall, this buffet leaves much to be desired. But I have relatives who are vegetarians coming to visit soon, so maybe they'll still want to try it.

Yelp
This is a fun vegetarian buffet that is part market and part Buddhist contemplative practice space. When getting food, be mindful about your portions and don't even think about talking to your friends until you sit down. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach, which I need to work on being more careful about. I thankfully ate everything I put on my plate, but I am trying to eat enough to not be hungry rather than eat to feel full. This is adulting. This is a self service buffet, but the cashier at the front was very friendly. I really liked the drink options: different kinds of tea. It's nice to eat here once in a while, especially before driving to LAX.

Yelp
Came here with a friend who is vegetarian and I'm always open to having a meatless meal. This place is AYCE and offers both vegetarian and vegan options. They serve eggs but will let people know if a dish is vegan. What makes me give this place 5-stars is because this place is a non-profit and they donate uneaten food every night. You also don't need to tip but they ask that you bus your own tables. It's a very low key establishment with ample seating and ample food options. They have a Chinese porridge section, stir fry dishes, salad bar, shaved ice, soups, and even a taco bar. Great hot tea and drink options too. You can stay the full 3 hours that they are open for dinner so no rush like other AYCE places. They even have a small grocery store inside but didn't have time to shop. Check out my food pics!

Yelp
I am so glad my friend introduced me to this place. After he brought me here, I liked it so much I came back again with my family within the same week. I came here for lunch on a weekday and also on a weekend, and the food selection was slightly different. If you like vegetarian Taiwanese or Chinese food, and porridge, then this is the place for you. The porridge was great. There is a salad bar, a soup bar with noodles during the week day. There are also fried rice, fried noodles, and fried rice cakes. The shaved ice bar is amazing! I love the toppings they had: taro, boba, grass jelly, yellow jelly, condensed milk, red beans and green beans. Lastly, there is even a vegetarian taco bar! There are hot coffee, hot tea, ice black tea and winter melon tea offered for beverages. The inside is simple and a bit dated. You need to bus your own plates. I didn't mind that at all. You pay at the counter when you walk in and then they will assign you seating. I love the grocery store they have inside the restaurant located to the side. Many of the items they carry I have not seen at a Chinese grocery store. Plus, their prices are better!

Yelp
Sweet Veggie is an awesome find for Vegetarian (and Vegan). The casual venue is part eatery/part market located in an unkempt strip-mall setting. This restaurant looks out of place but don't let the exterior fool your experience. Due to the pandemic, buffets seem harder to find so it's so wonderful to find on catered toward plant-based buffet style. I had a blasted sitting, eating and watching the crowd come through to support the business. Westminster entered paying and walked toward the three islands - cold food with all you can drink beverages (e.g., milk tea, winter melon tea, tea), hot food of mock-meat variations tied to common Chinese entrees and appetizers including a soup bar. The hot food trays are so flavorful--fried eggplants, fried mushrooms, ma po tofu, several style of braised tofu, including fried man toa (buns) where you can get a side of condensed milk as dipping sauce. This is dangerously bad and addictive!!!! The eating hall is a large room and interestingly is assigned table broken from section A-E (see your receipt). To manage staff resources, all patrons are asked to clean up after yourself, including sorting your used plates/utensils, in assigned buckets. I love this "community" effort and saves on tipping too. (wink, wink) Sweet Veggie also offers cooking classes, as well as health seminars at the restaurant to further promote its message and mission. The message along with class offers are posted on the tables. Without a doubt, I'll be coming back in the coming weeks when I get another opportunity to visit SGV.

Yelp
Sadly, Sweet Veggie will be closing for good on December 29. Really going to miss talking to their manager, Kitty, and, of course, all the great food. I wish them all well. Rent was going up in the New Year is the reason for shutting down this location.

Yelp
After coming back from a trip to Taiwan, I was craving vegetarian breakfast. Sweet Veggies has been on my radar for sometime and we finally decided to try it. The location itself doesn't get a lot of foot traffic, which makes this the perfect hidden gem. You pay first and your receipt tells you your table number. The lady working the front explained to us that everything is self served including the drinks, no tip is required, but please put away the dirty utensils in the corresponding bins when you're done with the plates. This place reminded me a lot of Taiwan, where people are respectful of each other and there is an emphasis on compassion and respect. There are little stories at each table that teach moral lessons and signs around the food area saying "Do not speak around food area" to reduce contamination of the food. The food selection was tasty, lots of different vegetarian dishes. Vegetarian food can be pretty expensive, but this place makes it affordable and gives you plenty of variety. They have a salad section, a dessert section, porridge section, taco section, soup section, drink section, veggie section, and carbs section. I loved the porridge selection! The drinks were also tasty. Despite eating a lot, it was generally healthy since I limited my carbs and red meat intake. They also have a small market on the side with different vegetarian and Taiwanese products. You can also make a bento box to go for $7, it is pretty reasonable. All in all, I'm glad I finally tried this place and can't wait to bring my health conscious family here!

Yelp
I grew up with vegetarian food, so it's not the fact there was a lack of meat. Perhaps it's because I came here maybe an hour before it closed, but the food offerings were really sad looking, to the point where I wondered, will I get sick from this? The flavor of the food is not bad but the texture of everything was off, probably because it was old. Even the dessert area- they had oreos that were sitting and when I put into it, it wasn't crisp at all. I think overall, the concept is great and maybe the dishes are good too, but the location, the environment and even the outside made me question my choices. It's kind of dirty. The lights, the everything was kind of sad looking, the food looked like it's been sitting out for quite some time. One thing that they did to make the price low is that you have to bus your own tables, which I don't mind, but it was definitely interesting. Tip: don't stuff yourself like you would since the veggie meat is carb based and you will feel sick afterwards because you're SO full.

Yelp
$16.99 lunch, not bad, all self service, cashier said no need to pay tips just clean after yourself. Food taste not bad, good to try.

Yelp
This place has so much potential. I love all the veg options! So many opportunities to get your daily fiber. However, most of the food felt cold. The heat lamps were NOT doing their job. Also, I kept going back to see if they replenished the essentials (like the fried noodles) but they were not refilled once. Other examples of items that were not replenished: boba for shaved ice, vegetarian taco meat. Wish they had sweet and sour for the egg rolls. There was hardly any staff, in case I had questions.
google avatar

Travis P.

Yelp
This is a great place if you're vegan/vegetarian. Quite a bit of options as and they do a great job making the food taste like it has meat. Some of the foods doesn't refill such as the fried rice never got refilled when it was empty. Be warned it maybe hit or miss on refills. Everything is self service including putting away the plates. Overall pretty tasty for what it is. If you're a person that eats meat can't say it's the best place to go but overall most food is pretty good. Side note, this place is huge and can fit large party. We had a party of 50+ and they were able to accommodate us in the back room.

Yelp
Our friend pointed us to this AYCE vegetarian spot offering delightful Taiwanese dishes, and we're thrilled we took the plunge. The array of dishes, including the tempting shaved ice, made our evening deliciously diverse. At $17.99 for a weekend dinner, and 15.99 for weekday dinner, the self-service style felt like a reasonable price, and the casual setting added to the laid-back experience. The place is not fancy and a bit outdated, and it truly is a self-service restaurant in that they request you bring your dishes to the collection station. They even say no tips necessary. Kudos to the friendly staff, and bonus points for the on-site Asian food and snacks store! I also like the stories they put on the table.

Yelp
Driving over to Hsi Lai temple from West LA, I thought it would be appropriate to eat at a Taiwanese vegan buffet. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would go back again. MY ORDER x1 Adult Weekend Buffet Adult Weekend Buffet ($17.99): In case the name isn't clear enough, this is a vegan buffet where you'll find vegetables, imitation meat items but also eggs and diary. There's a fair amount of items to go through and I would suggest trying a little bit of everything, including the pickled dishes, to see what you like before committing. Some of my favorite dishes are the stir fried noodles, tea eggs, imitation popcorn chicken (in small amounts), soy floss (imitation pork floss), and tomato and egg. For drinks, there's milk tea, passion fruit green tea and wintermelon tea. There's boba in the dessert section. For desserts, you also can't go wrong with the Bao Bing (Taiwanese snow cones and toppings) and the pan fried buns with condensed milk. There's also mashed taro (not in the dessert section) that you can add condensed milk to. Cons: - the environment could use some updating- the menus are old as are the little signifiers on the table that you flip over once you are done eating so that the staff know which tables are clean and which ones are dirty Tips: - You have to put your own plates and utensils away, which helps cut down costs - I wouldn't try to stuff yourself because a lot of the food you'll be eating contains beans and starches which can expand half an hour after you've finished eating - There's lots of parking - Note, if you don't enjoy Taiwanese flavors (you'll find a couple of sweet entrees), you may not enjoy this as much. Also, don't forget that this is a vegan buffet.

Yelp
Pros: if you like variety of veggies and ayce. This place might be worth checking out. Cons: if you don't like veggies and you're coming here for a birthday lunch. You're gonna have an interesting time. I didn't realize there were so many veggies dishes. There were so many vegetarian dishes. To me they all looked alike. Idk if I'm just closed minded or I don't like veggies.
google avatar

Yelp
All good lots of choices fast service. Lots of healthy choices worth the money you need to at least go here once in your life I'm going to go again
google avatar

Yelp
My mom practices Buddhism so several times a month she doesnt eat meat. She asked me to take her to this restaurant as she's been here before and enjoyed it. Right off the bat, they increased their prices, it used to be $16.99/person but now its $22/person. At these prices i'd rather go to a non vegetarian buffet. The inside was dark and dingy, not that clean and the AC was not effective. The food itself did not stand out, most were bland and it appears the selection was reduced. Overall, i did not enjoy dining here for a myriad of reasons. I will not be coming back.
google avatar

Graciela C.

Yelp
Wait. AYCE vegetarian that doesn't suck? This place has very homey food that feels like comfort food without the unhealthiness that it usually is associated with. I have to say, I enjoyed almost everything here and definitely did not miss the meat at all. The rice and noodles are tasty and the hot greens and mushrooms options (and all the soybean variations) really had me full fast. The place gets busy but it doesn't get crowded in a way that other ayce places do. Ppl are respectful with their plates and return them after finishing. There is no wait staff, bus your own table. They also don't accept tips so no surprise bill there.

Yelp
Sweet Veggie is a Taiwanese Buddhist vegetarian (no meat/fish, garlic, onions, nor shallots used) buffet located in El Monte. They also have a small grocery store portion where you can buy snacks, sauces, noodles, drinks, and vegetarian frozen goods to cook and eat at home (some of which they also serve in the restaurant). The buffet is pretty affordable for LA standards ($17.99 for weekend/holiday lunch and dinner, cheaper on weekdays) and has a variety of dishes that are all vegetarian (the signs usually also mention if dishes are vegan/contain possible allergen foods). The cheaper price is also due to the fact that you seat yourself and bus your own tables (put everything in the dirty dishes/trash section in the middle portion of the restaurant). Since my dad is vegetarian, this place has been a nice buffet option so that he can eat everything and have it be Taiwanese/Asian food too. The food is not super amazing, but it's decent and there's a lot to try. Just because it's vegetarian though, don't expect it to be healthy haha--the stir-fried dishes tend to be a little oily sometimes, and there are a few fried dishes. I recommend the hot stir-fried dishes (basically the hot buffet bar closest to the back wall) and fried mantou (golden brown fried bun). I would say skip the sushi, salad, and taco stations. The congee and all the cold sides you can pair with it are somewhat nostalgic. The drink bar is always great--a variety of iced teas, hot water/tea/coffee and you can add boba/pudding/jellies from the dessert/shaved ice bar. I always like to end my meal with a bowl of just toppings because the shaved ice machine makes pretty big chunks of ice and it's hard to only get a small bit of ice. Sweet Veggie is definitely a great option if you have loved ones who are vegetarian and want a buffet option to satisfy everyine!

Yelp
I have heard about this place for years, before pandemic, but never got the chance to tried it till now. Went on a weekday for lunch. You paid at the front before you get assigned seats. They also have a to go section. It's a AYCE vegetarian food. A lot of options and they also have drinks too. Food was pretty good. Worth a try if you are in the area and want vegetarian food. They have an area where you clean up after yourself. You put the dishes, utensils, and trash in certain places.

Taylor O.

Yelp
Staff were all very nice. I like that you're not expected to tip and that you're expected to bus your own table. Food was very average. I did enjoy the winter lemon tea with pudding. I liked the porridge with fermented tofu, soy floss, and tea egg. All the faux meats weren't very flavorful and not the best texture wise. The fried rice, brown rice, and white rice were all very dry. There were fried buns to eat with condensed milk, but they tasted stale. Everything at the taco station was cold. I generally love vegan/vegetarian Asian food, but I think I would only return for the grocery store. They have Bullhead BBQ vegetarian sauce and a lot of cool ingredients with good prices.

Ana C.

Yelp
Very friendly service. Love to eat in there. Reasonable prices. Good food with a lot of varieties. Sad to see it closed down. Hope is temporary.

Yelp
I have come here a number of times over the years and walked away happy and satisfied. The location has both a store and to go offering but stay for the dine in buffet if you can. There's a lot of options that change regularly on the hot menu but there's a lot of variety on interpretations of classic Chinese dishes like lu ro fan (minced "pork") mapo tofu, and add rice, vegetarian sushi, and my favorite, all you can consume Taiwanese shaved ice. They make fried sesame balls that are also tasty. You're expected to take as much as you can eat and bus your own dishes to a dishwashing station. I think this used to be an old Dennys location. The building gives off an old diner vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Love that there's a vegetarian buffet in LA. It reminds me of being back in Taiwan and being able to enjoy a variety of food. This would definitely be a regular go-to if I lived in LA. Bonus: they have an extensive and amazing vegetarian market as well. All the goodies you'd want from Taiwan. Highly recommend. :)

Yelp
Very disappointed experience.I used to come here during lunchtime. This is my first time to come at 7 p.m. the quality of food is definitely leftovers from lunchtime. I definitely would not come back for dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Vegetarian food all around. We got here when it opened at 5 and it felt like the food was sitting here from before. Everything was self serve (drinks, food, utensils, seating). The tables were relatively clean. Dinner time on a Sunday was $20 a person. No tips required, just have to clean up after yourself. There's also a market you can check out in the front. You also pay before eating! I wish they had more options, like how it was pre Covid.
google avatar

Yelp
We r back for more! This time for dinner. I like the dinner menu more than the lunch menu. They had these caramelized mushrooms that were so delicious. And the tofu skin rolls-- yummy. They still had the spam looking meat that I loved yesterday. Tonight they had boba so of course I made a boba milk tea. I even put egg pudding. They had other ingredients you can use for both your drink and the shaved ice like red beans etc. They sat us at the E room (the big room at the back) & we got a little lost. So if u walk into the room, the top left corner of the room is table 1 and it goes 1 to 11 then 12 starts below table 1 (so like you are reading from lined paper, western style). So at E: 1st row is 1-11 2nd row is 12-21. 3rd row is 22-27 I believe. We had our favorite cotton candy ice cream for dessert again.

Yelp
Introduction: I first heard about this place from my best friend who spoke well of the place due to the price they charge and the variety of their selections for their buffet. As a result, I decided to pay this place a visit. Food: Buffet In terms of their selection, it's decent in relation to how much they charge for it. Some of the things I tend to enjoy are as follows: Congee: Mix the congee with their braised minced meat sauce or other miscellaneous toppings such as pork floss, bamboo shoots, pickled radishes etc. and I tend to eat two bowls of it usually. Tea eggs: I really like the tea eggs here; it reminds me of the ones I used to eat as a child both in terms of its texture as well as flavor(s). The tea eggs that's sold elsewhere don't taste right either due to texture or flavor(s). Taiwanese shaved ice: The Taiwanese shaved ice here is great, I especially like the aiyu jelly and almond tofu with fruit toppings. The shaved ice is closer to how Taiwanese shaved ice should taste as opposed to other shaved ice that are sold outside nowadays: the toppings offered are simple and far less sweet. Service: The staff are courteous and polite. Ambiance: Casual. Price: Affordable and the value is good. Advice: I highly recommend doing some shopping at their grocery department once you're done eating: the selections they have are diverse and impressive.

Yelp
One of my favorite veggie restaurants. FOOD The food variety is astounding for a veggie buffet. They have salads, DIY tacos and your traditional Chinese dishes. They always have 3-4 different soups to choose from. Each soup have their own different taste and texture. SERVICE This is a buffet service is minimal and condiments and utensils are there for self use. AMBIENCE The ambience is clean but nothing fancy. They play some soothing instrumentals while your enjoy your animal cruelty free meal. PRICE The price is about $18.00/adult on a weekend.

Yelp
So one of my eating buddies needs to lower his cholesterol and we searched for some places healthy(er) vegan/vegetarian places to try. With a quick google search we found this place. I was glad that it was a buffet as we'd have a chance to try a lot of dishes. I have to say I really enjoyed it and will likely be back again! So first off let me say, nothing here is "blow your mind" delicious. Everything is definitely good. A lot of items are brought out fresh and they're warm when you get them but I don't think every item has a burner underneath so some items could certainly be warmer. Total cost as of this writing for the buffet was $17.99. Items I liked: Bamboo shoots with chili oil Green beans Baby Bok Choy (simple and clean, very little sauce but good!) Fried rice Egg plant Hot and Sour Soup Sliced Potato Dish Some kinda egg dish It's a serve yourself and bus your own dishes kinda place so they don't ask for a tip and I think that's pretty reasonable given the nature of the place. Several drink options including sweet milk tea and several other sweet tea options. When you come in and pay, you are assigned a table in a specific room. Overall, really good place that I plan to go to again, perfect if you need a break from heavy fatty meats which we probably all need a break from sometimes

Yelp
A really unique, down to earth and refreshing dining experience. Food and drinks were good!

Yelp
Sad to see this place go downhill, it was my favorite place. Selection is underwhelming, lots of repeats and so much oil and too much sauce on most items. I could feel the back of my throat covered in a film of oil. Unfortunately it's not worth it for me anymore.

Yelp
We used to really like this place for its value and abundant selections when we're looking for vegetarian foods. However, the quality and selection has declined drastically since we last came a few years ago. About a quarter of the buffet area is blocked off. It's a self-serve restaurant where everyone's expected to clean up after themselves and put all the dishes away in the collection area. Tips are not requested. Overall the food isn't what it used to be and we won't be back.

Yelp
Large selection, helpful especially for handicapped, great family atmosphere! A bit warm though, should have better air conditioning! Too much MSG as well!

Yelp
The prices are affordable for both lunch and dinner, considering that there are so many options at this vegetarian Taiwanese style buffet! My favorite dishes there were the Mapo Tofu, the veggie sushi, and the fried noodles. My only wish is that the food would be warmer, as quite a few of the hot dishes that I tried were lukewarm. (We ate there at around 11:30 AM, so perhaps they needed more time to reheat everything properly?) The staff was friendly and I appreciate them helping us when we ate there for the first time. Make sure you note the following rules for this restaurant: tips are not necessary and you must put your own plates and utensils away when you are done with them. The interior seemed a bit dated, but very roomy. Plenty of places to sit (they assign you a table though). However, there were some issues with the restrooms. In the hallway, there were two pills on the floor. I also spotted a cockroach flailing on its back in one of the stalls in the women's restroom. I hope that the restrooms will be cleaner in the future. With a few adjustments, I think this restaurant has potential to promote vegetarianism through the variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes that it has to offer!

Yelp
This is the cutest place I've been to in a while ! All vegetarian options ! The curry is outstanding !!! I can't wait to come tomorrow , buffet $17 so many choices fresh and healthy , love this cute place , reminds me of summer camp cafeteria style , where you put your own dish to scullery . Very adorable and endearing place to eat something healthy

Yelp
Went to dine here for a foodie meetup. We arrived early at opening time. It is a large place with lots of parking and seating. The buffet had a large variety. Everything I tried was good. Overall I think it was a good value. It was fun to look at all the products in the market afterwards also.

Yelp
This is a Vegetarian Buffet with Vegan Options....Unfortunately I used to go to the Walnut and Diamond Bar location....and they are both closed now. This location has a plus with the supermarket type area in there as well as a wider selection of food options....unfortunately the quality and taste is not as the original or other location (now closed as mentioned). The items just don't taste as fresh as before.....a lot of the sauces and things felt a bit empty or lackluster (diluted). They don't take tips and the staff is rather friendly but because of the size of this location it isn't as personable as the original....Overall for the price and what you get it's worth coming here still, but I'll be honest it's just not up to par with what it should be based on my experience.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Many varieties to choose from. The restaurant is nice and clean. Big sitting area. Hopefully the restroom can be cleaner.

Yelp
Great vegetarian options and they have a shaved ice machine! How fun! Great way to end a meal! I would go when there's a big crowd, they change out dishes and you can try a new dish!

Yelp
This is a vegan/vegetarian buffet style establishment. As such, I really wanted to love this place. When entering, the cashier explained the lay of the land because it was obvious I was a first time customer. Payment is due upon entering and the receipt has a table number so there is assigned seating. It was also explained that clientele are expected to bus their own tables, fair enough as it is a buffet. It was also explained that no talking is allowed in the buffet area. I get why yet... The buffet has various stations including a drink station that had boba for milk tea and other options. The tea was good, nothing out of the ordinary. The seating area itself is fine. It's a bit old, there is age to this place. There was a karaoke station, my assumption is it must be available at dinner or during the weekends, I was there during lunchtime. There were inspirational bookmarks on the table, a thoughtful gesture. My assumption is the owner must be a Buddhist, again, making me want rank this place with a high rating. Just a note, the exterior of this place has an abandoned quality about it. The parking is a bit unkept. First impression is that it is closed but upon closer inspection is that indeed this place is open. Finally, to the food. It was a mixed bag. There was an eggplant dish that was delicious. The problem was the rest of the food didn't seem fresh. It's not that it didn't have potential. It's just it wasn't fresh. In order to keep me wanting more and coining back, the food should be savory, and not look like it's been sitting around for two days. Perhaps this was an off day for the restaurant. As a vegetarian, everything in my spirit wants this place to be delicious. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations.

Yelp
I like coming to Sweet Veggies because it's a small grocery store and a buffet for vegetarian foods! Whenever I don't feel like eating meat for the week. I'd stop by Sweet Veggies on the way home to order some food to go or dine in for dinner. They have a special to go menu with different entrees on a daily. It's filled with delicious vegetarian dish. You can get it in a bento. Small or large bento. The buffet has a huge selection of vegetarian dish and vegetarian dessert. Monday to Thursday are slightly cheaper than dining Friday and weekends. Close on Tuesday's. The other side of the restaurant has a small grocery store where you can purchase different vegetarian food from dry to frozen products. Super convenient if you're looking to look vegetarian only dish at home. Overall I'm very satisfy with sweet veggies. Prices and service are great.

Yelp
First time back post Covid. Prices are pretty steep for what was served. Selection was pretty disappointing

Yelp
The food here is great for anyone looking to eat less meat. Cruelty, sustainability, and health concerns of red meat makes me want to eat more plant based foods. My mom heard about this place from a friend so we decided to visit. The price is very reasonable for what you get. As others have pointed out, there's no tipping required, theres a small vegetarian market built in, and you bus your own plates. Very unique. But the food is the highlight. There are plenty of clever meat substitutes from fatty brined pork belly to imitation fish sashimi. They do have brined egg but thats as far as it goes in terms of animal products. Perhaps gelatin in some of the desserts or dishes too, but overall, there isnt that much guilt to feel eating here. The owner(s) seem to follow buddhist teachings as there are words and stories of wisdom and compassion at every table. My first time visiting the woman at the register was helping a thirsty transient to some water (she shut down his request for money, which is right) and also to some food. I felt at peace eating here. The place is clean. Don't let the older decor and building incite judgment. Everything is as it should be here. Good variety of soup, food selections from all over the world (the taco "meat" is to die for) and all you can drink boba and ayce shaved ice to boot, in addition to self serve thrifty ice cream. Calling this an Asian Souplantation would be insulting cos there's just so much good Taiwanese style food in addition to global varieties but all with its own unique flavors and twist. Also, a nice restaurant in the sgv with ample parking. Everything is right about this place.

Yelp
I am there on a Friday. I like it better than the weekend, less crowded. I got a salad and it does taste fresh. I am not a big eater so don't have the chance to try lots of stuff before getting full. Shave ice always fun for me and I tired the porridge today which is good. I felt good about guilt free eating. And I ate something that looks like meat but it was soy or wheat gluten.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place for a "healthier" vegetarian buffet alternative. Unfortunately it was underwhelming, the salad bar didn't have many options and the dressings were not flavorful, of all things I thought this station would be filled with the most options. Many of the dishes had strong lamb and cumin flavors, which was off putting, in particular the green seaweed fried rice. There is a drink station with white gourd tea, milk tea, hibiscus tea but those drinks were overly sweet. The shaved ice bar was the best thing. There were not many other dessert options, but a few cookies and some fruit which wasn't too appetizing. Overall not a really satisfying meal and I wouldn't go back.
