Cute little store with nostalgia candy. Staff was young super sweet. Love the candy in the jars. Prices were a little high but that’s to be expected for the older Candys. Worth stopping by might find an old sweet treat.

Stopped by the shopping plaza while taking a break from driving down the PCH. While walking around, noticed this small candy shop in the back. It was small, but full of so much character. There was a nice mix of nostalgic candies and newer candies. There's a nice selection of individual candies you can buy by weight. Throughout the store, there's nostalgic signs on display and various plush animals to buy. Nice candy store with a wide selection for whatever your sweet tooth craves.

SweetBu is the best candy store ever. It's so beautifully curated! We love it to stop in for a treat, but the best part are the GIFT BASKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the only place I will order gift baskets from now on. For business, friends, kids parties! The way they package is very high end and looks beautiful. And the price was so good!

Just visited the most amazing store on earth - literally. SweetBu Candy makes all your dreams come true. From international chocolate to sours to plush to this amazing love potion (essential oil) that the owner makes - my senses were overwhelmed and I think I fell in love multiple times. You will keep coming back - for me, every time I visit Malibu, this will be a mandatory stop!

This is such a special candy store tucked away in the Trancas Shopping center across from Zuma beach. Melissa is stocked with some unique treats and if she doesn’t carry it she will find it for you. I showed her a candy bar that I was only able to find in Ireland 🍀and I was pleasantly surprised to find it on the shelf today!! Thanks Melissa!!

Sweet Bu is nothing short of the definition of sweet!! This super cute shop is a go-to stop on my commute home from my hybrid job in LA. They have the cutest Squishmallows, cards, and a small collection of Sonny angels to choose from. Their selection of candy is so unique and deliciously curated; they have something for all ages and all tastebuds. Sandy is the funniest, most helpful candy gal too! She is seriously my candy dealer, like she’s never given me a piece of candy I didn’t like. My family and I have discovered so many sweets that are now our favorites thanks to the SweetBu family. Shop small, shop local, and treat yourself through this adorably beachy candy store!

I felt like a kid and a candy store LOL there was so much to choose from I had to try a little bit of everything! This place is located in a small plaza but you have to go towards The middle because it's not visible from the parking lot. I love how they have dipping dots because you can't find us everywhere! I tried sour candies watermelon as well as chocolate. They're toffee chocolate was yummy! Everything was delish! They come in little mason jars. Plenty of parking and so much candy i was happy! BF decided to scare the Bejesus out me with a white knuckle drive down Decker Cyn. The light at the end of the tunnel, Canyon, was a trip to Trancas market. Nestled in the back of the marketplace is the cutest little candy shop. Absolute joy took over finding nostalgia from my teen years in the 80's! Candy flavored glosses!

This adorable family-owned candy shop is nestled within the Trancas Country Market plaza. A lovely little spot with green areas for kids, the candy shop had all manner of sweet treats, including packaged candy and pick-your-own by the pound. Perfect for kids and adults alike. Enjoy!

What a joke! You can buy the exact same candy at the Dollar Store for a FRACTION of the price. It looks to me like they bought one of those bags of assorted candy at Walmart.....sorted it into bins and then thry charge you an extravagant amount. Be sure to ask for the price of each item, as nothing is marked. Our 2 granddaughters picked out 1 teeny tootsie roll one tiny DumDum sucker, 2 gum containers and a skewer type candy with about 5 gummie type candies on it and it came to over $18.00. i was standing outside the store with one of our granddaughters when the clerk gave my husband the total. He was too proud and aslo didn't want to disappoint the granddaughters , so he paid for it! Seriously, just go to the $ Store.....there is nothing special in the store!

Cute gifts and eclectic candy in this hidden gem of Trancas. I love this place and Melissa is amazing. After my coveted Halloween purchase she gave me a Halloween bow for my lil pup to don for the holiday. Love her and the candy....perhaps its just a place to go for lil sweet gifts for me! I'll be back soon!

Stopped by SweetBu as part of our AmazingCo destinations, not only were we delighted by the cute store and delicious candies, the woman who helped us was beyond welcoming and kind! Thank you for adding to our adventure!

The staff are always friendly and helpful. The only time I was dissatisfied with anything is when they ran out of boba!

Cutest candy shop in the new Trancas shopping center Jessie greeted us warmly when we walked into this amazing little candy shop of sweetness. Great selection of retro items like abba zabba bars, milk duds, jaw breakers and gummy bears galore! They are very kid friendly and it seems like she knows all of her customers sweet tooth needs. Sweet tart cake is perfect for V Day!! Gummy bear night light is cool too. Love this place!!!

This is such a cute candy store! Service was wonderful, our kids had a blast here! Prices are fair, considering the area. Plenty of easy parking, nice option while taking a stroll in the area.

First time in Cali and I had to stop by the cutest candy boutique. So many varieties of candies and SQUISHMALLOWS!!! The owner and staff were super sweet and helpful. We were so unexpectedly lucky to come on their restock day and were excited to find our DISO's. I highly recommend and will definitely come again!

I wanted to try something new. SweetBu is great. They have a lot of cool stuff that you couldn't find at an average candy store. I love the vibe you get when you walk into the store. The lady at the front desk was nice and willing to help me. They also take Apple Pay and that was very convenient for me because I bring my iPhone everywhere and do not carry cash. The only thing that was not for me was the location, I like Malibu, but it is in a spot in Malibu that tends to be pretty far from Los Angeles, Orange County, etc. I also like the shopping area.

Heard about this cute little gem through TikTok and am so glad I did! They have such a variety of different candies! I'm a girl who can't live without gummies, especially sour gummies, and they satisfied my sweet tooth 10000% Definitely will stop by every time we're in Malibu!

Melissa was helpful and fun! We picked 3 chocolates from three different countries and had a blinded taste test after dinner with our 4 kids. It initiated some curiosity about the world. Newman consensus - Germany makes great chocolate and vaccines!

Big fan of a candy stores, I really love this one. It's small and packed with lots and lots of treats which makes for a great candy store. Candies from all over the world as well as your favorites. A perfect spot to stop after a day at the beach with my daughter.

They changed their prices to $50 per large squishmallow while we were all in line. The change in prices was so disheartening and everyone started leaving with almost no squish. The vibe was so heartbreaking as customers left with almost empty hands and sad faces.

What a friendly store! Staff's energy is wonderful and welcoming, and I loved walking in to find so many Squishmallows!! The candy selection is huge and they also get in special candies from overseas. 10/10 will be going back again for Squishmallows and Smarties!

A stop at Sweetbu before heading to Zuma beach across the street has become a weekend tradition for us. This adorable candy shop is always perfectly organized, clean, and beautifully decorated. Definitely instagram-pic worthy. My kids look forward to coming here and Melissa is so sweet. Definitely stop by if you're in the area! (there's a parking lot in the back for easiest access).

AmaZing little candy shop tucked away right off the 1 in a small shopping area. if you're looking for selection and friendly customer service then i most definitely suggest you check this little gem out I'm a gummy kind of guy so you cant go wrong in here. Chocolates all around and it has some Toys for the kids in here too. The lady I spoke with was super attentive and upbeat , helpful , and just gave off a All around great vibe! I came to check them out because I always pass through and miss my opportunity to stop in but this day was a day I was determined to get in there and I'm glad I did. I highly recommend checking them out as well as the other small boutiques and shops in the immediate area

Wow, I don't even know where to begin. My family was taking a ride down the PCH for some good seafood when our car was T-boned. The police gave us a ride to a near-by market in Malibu. I went to get our kids ice cream at SweetBu and after over hearing what had happened to us Melissa treated my kids to free ice cream and toys. It was the act of this altruistic shop owner, Melissa, that turned our day around. Please support this business. Please support Melissa. Thank you for showing us that acts of kindness from strangers still exists!

When you walk into SweetBu you can't help but feel happy! There is something for everyone - from local chocolates to candy and beach themed toys and games. The vibe is friendly and the store is beautiful. The owner, Melissa, is super helpful and thoughtful. We could have stayed there all day!! Can't wait to go back!

Drove 2 hours to check out their squishmallow options, and was quite impressed! The owner was so positive and helpful. I'm definitely going to go there more often, as her candy selection was excellent.

Updated June 4: went back to this amazing place for more Squishy's - the line was around the block but the woman who runs the store managed the process so well. She's so fair and does everything she can to keep the scalpers out! I totally respect the way she runs her business - even the limits placed on what can be bought - because at the end of the day everyone should have a chance to get these amazing stuffies! Thank you again SweetBu for serving us so well. I'll be back next time at exactly 10:11 to happily wait in line!

We enjoy coming to Sweet Bu after we eat a Kristy's and play at the beach. We always have a great time at Sweet Bu!

This place has all the HTF squishmallows along with many more and they have VEGAN candy !! We were so pleased and appreciated Melissa's help she is doing everything and anything she can to get these squishmallows for us collectors even driving to the factory itself to get them because everyone knows it's hard to keep full stock and that's how she manages to have a variety of squish's every time you go i was in such a rush these days i went to her store but WOW does SweetBu deserve these 5 Stars they even have cheaper prices then mystical gifts i've waited in lines just to get a $50-70 squishmallow from them but she cares and has cheaper prices than mercari and offerup i've gotten the rest of my iso's but i just love the variety now i can find ones i didn't even know i wanted!

I love this candy store! I live in the Bay Area but ordering custom gifts from Sweet Bu in Southern CA. is easy and fun thanks to the friendly and incredibly creative owner Melissa. For Christmas, I ordered my family candies, delicious chocolates, pretty candles and the most wonderful smelling oils. The order was shipped within just a few days with plenty of Sweet Bu packaging and decor for cute wrapping. This store is awesome for all ages! My husband, my two teenage daughters and my 70 year old parents loved their gift bags! Today is Valentines Day and I couldn't wait to shower my family with more Sweet Bu love! This is my go to store for holidays, birthdays and gifts for any occasion! Don't miss out on this gem of a store!

Super small and sweet people and family ran business! My friend and I drove all the way from Arizona for Squishmallows though they ran out of what we came for it didn't matter to us because we were treated with the best of kindness. I had also picked up some really unique candies for family at home! Please support them

Great little candy store in the middle of a cute shopping center! She has English chocolates and other hard-to-find candy. They also do cute bags for parties. Next time we are in "The Bu," we'll definitely stop back by.

Best candy store in Malibu! Much more than just candy (of which there is every kind in every category imaginable), great candy themed gifts, candles, toys, charmed necklaces, soaps and scrubs, perfume oils and lip glosses that will take you back to your childhood. Sweet Melissa Bu has also set up a "candy bar" for my holiday party and packaged special gifts for me. She takes special orders from my son and makes every kid feel like a special customer whether they're spending a $50 candy credit or $1.50 on taffy. It's a happy place.

During a recent visit to Malibu with my teenager, we found this AMAZING gem of a candy store!! We felt like happy little kids! The owner Melissa was a breath of fresh air who had a smile that was contagious! We could have stayed there forever! With an endless selection and a little something for everyone, I see this wonderful place being around for a very long time!! Can't wait until we are back for our next visit!!!

We stopped by here on our way to family in Los Angeles. Wanted to like it and are shopping experience was just OK. The person helping us a little flighty with the bulk candy. My husband asked about three different chocolates that were in the glass jars and the girl there was a little uncertain about what each jar contained. We ended buying three different kinds based upon the questions asked by us. But when we tried them later that night, two out of the three were not what the girl said it was. Luckily we didn't spend too much on them because my poor husband was so disappointed when he tried what he thought was a chocolate covered almond was a chocolate covered gummy or something and it was awful! We ended up throwing it away, why can't you label the jars???? Won't be going there again!! If you visit please ask for samples before buying the bulk candies!!! UPDATE: owner reached out to me directly to resolve the issue, definitely a fan of hers! Next time we're in LA we'll be stopping by!!!

Great candy shop with an amazing selection of candy! There is a great selection of salt water taffy (they have an entire wall dedicated to it) and a variety of candy both new and vintage is available. There is for sure something for everyone! They have cute gifts for sale as well and the candles they sell are the best! I have the hot chocolate one (it is a candle in a mug) and is smells so good. For sure worth the trip out to Malibu!
