Best poke place around! I really don’t understand why there are bad reviews, we have never had a bad experience here. 1. The staff members are so kind and helpful 2. Tons of options! They have 4 different kinds of rice, plenty of protein options, and tons of toppings and sauces. You can pick 3 bases, 3 sauces, 2 proteins, and 8 toppings, for a $16 custom bowl. That is way better than other popular poke spots we’ve been to! 3. Good portions. They even weigh the portions out to ensure accuracy so you’re not getting half filled scoops! 4. Quality ingredients. I’ve never had fish that smelled bad or tasted bad. 5. Really good unique drinks 6. It’s all gluten free! If you are gluten intolerant or have celiac disease, this place is so refreshing to eat at! I really hope this restaurant stays open and more people try it out because it’s one of my favorite spots ❤️

Google
Stopped by randomly because I was in the area and decided to give it a try. The employee was very helpful with suggestions and explaining some menu items. Yuzu salmon bowl was super fresh and perfect for a quick outdoor lunch on their patio. I would totally go back.

Google
Out of normal white rice as a base? Served me a half portion of undercooked “forbidden” rice (no kidding) instead. Location was fifthly too. Tables a mess, food all over the floors, behind the counter was bad too - stacked up bowls and dishes. Trash overflowing in the bins. Wish I had noticed before I paid. Young gal working who took my order was borderline rude, and totally disinterested in her job. Didn’t know what poke sauce was either. I ordered around 2pm and the place was empty so no reason why the location couldn’t be cleaner. Unfortunately this will be a one and done for me.

Google
Tried the yuzu salmon bowl at Sweetfin Poke, and honestly… it was giving “spa water” energy. All the right ingredients were there—avocado, jicama, salmon, yuzu—it should have been a flavor party. Instead, it tasted like everyone showed up but forgot to bring the seasoning. The salmon was a little too fishy-fishy (not in a cute sushi way), and the whole thing was missing a basic thing called salt. I kept waiting for the flavors to hit… but they must’ve missed their Uber. Also—$16?? For that price, I could’ve gotten a Cava bowl that actually tastes like something and still had change for a cookie. Sweetfin, you’re sweet, but please season your fish.

Google
Sweetfin has some seriously fresh and delicious Poke bowls! I love the spicey tuna bowl with extra crispy onions on bamboo rice. Give them a try, they are awesome!

Google
Everything at Sweetfin is gluten-free. I don't know any other poke place that is. Their bowls are fresh, made-to-order, and have a very healthy touch to every bowl.

Google
UPDATE: I have given them another shot, and I'm pleased to report that their portion sizes are back to the way they used to be. I ordered my usual salmon BYOB, and I was happy to see that they loaded the bowl. However, I would still give it 4 stars because their new base option, the sushi rice, is consistently clumped together. They probably used too much water while cooking the rice. I wish they prepared it in a better way as the taste is good. I also wish that they still had the smaller bowl option. Now, they seem to only sell the large bowl, and it's a bit too much food for me. Overall, I'm happy to see that things are improving at Sweetfin. They are still my go-to place for poke :) ================================================== I have been a fan and frequent customer of this restaurant for many years since its opening. The food and service was great initially but recently I have encountered some problems. First off, in one order of seared albacore and salmon mix, the seared albacore tasted very fishy. However, the worker at the time mediated the issue by giving me a larger portion of salmon. I was very grateful for his help. Today, however, did not go so well. Upon ordering a small bowl, the portion size was so minuscule that I had to ask about it. The workers simply stated that they did everything according to their “manual”. I understand that workers need to follow the rules; however, I have never had a portion this small. Even pictures on other Google reviews show a larger portion size for a small bowl. For instance, virtually all other photos have toppings covering the line under the rim. In the one I received, I could see the rims of my bowl and below up to half an inch. A coworker even told the one making my bowl that they were adding too much crispy onion and so I watched as they added even less into my bowl. After I received the food, the bowl was so dry and had barely any of the sauces (three total) that I had requested. I wish I had remembered to take a photo before I already started eating, but I was very upset to say the least. I am giving two stars because I loved this restaurant so much before these recent incidents occurred. In the past, I used to eat here at least once a week and the workers would even remember my request to add soy sauce (not on the menu) to my orders. They used to be very considerate so I am very upset at the workers and how this restaurant is today.

Google
We been here twice before. I just gave this place another try. I really wanted to like it because the location is great and the decor is very cute. Also the service and the employees are excellent. Unfortunately the food was not awesome. I got two yuzu salmon poke bowls - one for my son and one for me. Considering that it was a pre-designed dish and I would expect that it would be very flavorful and well designed but my son and I both felt it was super bland. I thought the ingredients were fresh enough and the salmon was good. Jicama did not make sense to me as an ingredient in this dish. Considering the high price I was hoping for something better.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick and healthy option, these poke and chicken bowls hit the spot. With fresh ingredients and unique options, it's one of our favorite spots for bowls in San Diego. The staff was super friendly and took their time to walk us through the menu. We got our food quickly after ordering. The location is convenient with a free parking garage nearby and an easy walk from there. I got the Spicy Chicken Grain bowl. It wasn't very spicy, but the flavor of the chicken was excellent. Make sure to add the chili oranges, they went perfectly with this bowl. They have a bunch of toppings, make sure to check them out. The bowl was just the right size, leaving me satisfied but not overly stuffed like a Chipotle bowl. My girlfriend got the Sweet Box, which came with a decent amount of food, definitely more than the bowl. We both agreed the spicy tuna was a bit better since we like a good kick to our food. The taro chips paired well with the poke dishes and could be used for poke nachos if you're feeling creative. If you're searching for a new poke spot, give this place a shot!

Yelp
I'm frustrated. I live across the street and have couple gift cards to use here and it's been hit or miss. Tonight takes the cake. I literally watched as the guy made my yuzu Kosho bowl on top of someone else's order- I thought he was making another person's bowl and had told him I wanted a base of salad and slaw, saw him grab the bowl of rice he was working on and build the bowl on that. Once he started trying to ring me up I corrected him and he built the correct base and transferred the contents on top to the new bowl. I didn't realize until I got home hed also forgot avocado. And by the time I got home they were closed so I have no recourse. I'm also an exhausted new mom, breastfeeding my infant, so it matters to me even more than normal what I eat because my milk is the source of nutrition for my baby. Check your order multiple times before leaving....

Yelp
Americanized Poke that tastes terrible. I understand they're trying to offer healthier options, however it was a miss for me. The portion was small for the price and the fish was just okay. It was hard to finish the bowl. I got the Yuzu Salmon bowl and was looking forward to trying it but was quite disappointed. Was also missing the seaweed salad from my bowl. Service was good, I did have to stand and wait for a few minutes because the workers were busy talking to each other and didn't notice me. However the guy helping me was pretty nice and gave me suggestions when asked. Overall, would rather head to the other more authentic Poke places in San Diego then come back here.

Yelp
After a great workout, I was craving a healthy fresh poke bowl. I was told Sweetfin had happy hour and I was immediately sold. Sweetfin is one of the restaurants at the upscale One Paseo shopping center in Del Mar. To get to this place, you have to be familiar with where things are in relationship to where you parked. I was a first-timer and excited to try one of their signature bowls. Little did I know that I would receive a promotion for being a newbie. Inside is cute and clean...just how I like it. I ordered the classic tuna bowl with a combination of the bamboo/forbidden rice with crispy garlic flakes. I didn't wait too long for my goodie bowl; although I did notice the bamboo rice was missing. Hmmm...was anything else missing from my order? Well, they quickly gave me some when I brought it to their attention. I'm sure glad I asked for it. It was yummy in my tummy. I'll be back for more!

Yelp
What we ordered | large build your own poke bowl | salmon + bamboo rice + toppings Taste | salmon was good. portion was okay. they had a unique variety of toppings such as the wasabi furikake. we got most of the common toppings but getting fried onion and garlic was overpowering so I would just get the fried garlic. felt like there was more toppings than the actual fish. Service | servers were nice and fast. they let you try sample the drinks too! Parking | garage Notes | free toppings up to 6.

Yelp
Great food, great service, Tom was excellent. The restaurant itself had a great vibe to it and amazing songs playing.

Yelp
Yuck! You've seen news reports about restaurants using fake tuna to cut costs? I'm certain that's what Sweetfin does. To make matters worse, their raw fish doesn't look taste or smell fresh. Eat at your own risk. There's a reason why every restaurant at One Paseo is packed and this place is empty and their UTC location closed. There's plenty of reviews of people contracting food poisoning here buried in suspicious 5 star reviews. Again, eat at your own risk!

Robert C.

Yelp
The service here is horrible. I had been here 5-8 times in the last month and I was treated horribly today. I asked to add one thing to my burrito which they had always done with 0 questions I I get treated like complete garbage. Will not be back. Do not come here. Never been treated so poorly by someone at a fast food restaurant.

Yelp
The service was excellent and the gentleman who helped me was very helpful and friendly, so I give him a thousand stars. I'd prefer to give a 3.5 and agree with other Yelpers on quantity and price, but would rather round up than down. I ordered the kid's lil fish meal, a side of the spicy cucumber salad and a bag of the matcha popcorn. The portions were extremely tiny (yes, I ordered the kid's size) and spent $16. The kid's poke came with a 1/4 cup of tuna, a few pieces of mango and a few pieces of kale that I subbed in lieu of rice. The cucumber salad was very spicy but refreshing. Definitely not worth $5 since it was tossed right before plating and not marinated whatsoever. The best part? The matcha popcorn which had matcha powder, coconut, sesame seeds, white chocolate and salt. It was sweet, salty and delicious. If you're in One Paseo and are looking for poke, Sweetfin is available though pricey with small portions. There are other healthy options available a few doors down and across the way in Del Mar Highlands which is a few minutes away on foot.

Yelp
I would rate this overall a 3.5! I built my own with salmon, bamboo rice and lots of toppings like mango, edamame, and cucumber. Salmon was great all the ingredients were fresh. I think the portions could have been bigger for a large. I wasn't a fan of the bamboo rice I wish they had regular white rice. Service and ambiance was good.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a fun vibe and friendly staff! Love the yummy gluten free options. And, the taro chips are amazing!
google avatar

Jonathan N.

Yelp
Great poke bowl with even greater service! The team killed it when I asked for their go to which was a twist on the spicy tuna bowl. Definitely recommend a trip down to 1 Paseo to try them out

Addison M.

Yelp
The food was good, however the star of the show was the employees. Isabella was very respectful and quick with our orders. Service here is a 10/10.
google avatar

Crystina R.

Yelp
Let me preface by saying I ordered on Uber Eats so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. My poke bowl was SO dry- they had to have forgotten the sauces because it's just super dry rice and toppings. Second, they only gave me 3 pieces of tuna... and that's it!! The rest is rice and cucumber. fortunately I ordered sides otherwise my meal would have been so bland. Not sure if this was a one time thing, I've heard great things about Sweetfin and was excited to try it.
google avatar

Ian L.

Yelp
Cannot compete with Seasurf and other poke joints in this community. Smaller portions, limited options.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Was excited to try another poke option in the area but was pretty disappointed with the experience overall. The small build your own bowl is very small and had about 5 pieces of fish in it total, with mostly the base and toppings taking over. During lunch it's a pretty long wait and it took 35 minutes to get my bowl. Once I got it the order was also wrong, but at that point I didn't want to wait longer to fix it. Given the price for the size and wait I don't think I will be returning.
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
The food was good, fresh tasting but the small bowl is really small. They don't fill it over, if anything it's quite under filled. My friend picked only 2 out of 3 base options so hers was barely half full. The person who made our food wore gloves but had no mask on. I watched him hover his face directly over my food while he talked to his coworker. Considering that this is all cold food that you eat immediately I wish they wore masks. The compostable spoon and bowl were nice but thrown into the regular garbage means it won't ever compost. I think they should take the initiative and handle their own composting but maybe that's asking too much.
google avatar

Yelp
Just tried using delivery and loved the dish I got that allowed a custom choice. I had a poke bowl with albacore tuna and cauliflower rice. It has essentially 0 points on WW as well. Ordered large size and it was adequate for a light dinner. Quality of ingredients were top notch. Not a huge amount of tuna, but enough with all of the other ingredients.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Sweetfin ... the LA ones. I was so excited to check out their SD location and unfortunately, it wasn't of the same standard. Lots of mix ins, sauces, bases, and proteins to try, ample portion sizes, and clean environment; however, everything tasted over sauced or over seasoned. The kelp noodle salad was so over sauced that I asked the lady if she could remake my bowl. She was super nice and handled the situation very professionally ... remade my bowl with no hesitation (and a different base), apologized, and even upgraded it from a small to a large. Hopefully they are just in a transition. Oddly, there was only one front employee around 6pm on a weekday.
google avatar

Marci P.

Yelp
The review is for food only. The person who waited on me was knowledgeable and food allergy aware. I have been following their social media for a while and was very excited to try this as it would be another option for gluten free dining. I have to say I was very disappointed. I ordered a large Salmon bowl and had trouble with the options because of my food allergies. Fine I accept this. I do have to say that the portion size was maybe 2 to 3 ounces and was very small. I didn't feel like the Salmon was very fresh. I stayed away from the tuna because I buy that from the fishermen locally. I don't think it was worth 14.00. The fact that the place was empty when every other restaurant was full of people should have alerted me to stay away. All in all greatful to try this but won't be back. My feeling is if you are going to serve fish in a seafood city you need to do better.
google avatar

Leonard S.

Yelp
It looks like someone may have paid to have my original review deleted, so I'm posting again, complete with a photo of how off the food is from how it's portrayed on the website. That popsicle not only looked like that, but it tasted god-awful and the stick even splintered into the confection. The bento sampler thing was impossibly mushy and flavorless... one of the most disgusting things you could order in all of One Paseo's many establishments. I will never eat here again.
google avatar

Mara P.

Yelp
Maybe the best poke I've ever had! Got the spicy tuna bowl and was absolutely blown away. Love that the small size is actually small so I don't get wayyy too full from it. Highly recommend and will be back!

Janine M.

Yelp
The bowls taste really good but sometimes they are on the dry side. The main problem is the price. It is very expensive for the tiny amount of fish you get. A large bowl will not make you feel satisfied at all and barely has any protein. The food also takes a very long time to prepare. I have found other options for poke in the area and so I will not return unless they offer more value.
google avatar

Darryl G.

Yelp
The food at SweetFin is really good, and everything is gluten-free. This is huge as most poke places use soy sauce and other items that have gluten, and so we can't go. We have now had several of the poke and vegetarian bowls. And they just added a Plant-based bento box from Actress Liza Koshy and Sweetfin. Inside the box is: Chili garlic forbidden rice noodles Ponzu lime sweet potato poke with bamboo rice Shiitake chili tofu with forbidden rice Homemade taro chips with wasabi furikake seasoning The box is fantastic, and I'd highly recommend it. Even if you are not a vegetarian or maintaining a plant-based diet, you will enjoy this very tasty and filling bento box. You can pick it up in the store, or you can order it through Postmates. Just wanna add that the staff at the Delmar location are so friendly and helpful. It's a pleasure going in there.

Mike R.

Yelp
Great place to eat I have been coming to this location for a long time. The staff is very friendly and the poke bowl is always good. I recommend this place to my friends a lot.

Erika C.

Yelp
Terrible bowls. PokeWan across street is much better. I brought a bowl home for my husband and he didn't feel it was edible. Dry cold rice, watery fish, sauce had ZERO flavor. Expensive and the manager or owner is a bit over the top on his rigidity with toppings and charging extra. $.70 per extra topping even for dried toppings like fried onions or garlic....what a joke! All poke places I've ever been to the dried toppings come with the bowl...at least a choice of one or two. The owner/manager is also super rude!!! I'll never go back. I'm shocked one paseo allows them to stay there.
google avatar

Cecilia S.

Yelp
Waaaay too salty. I've tried Sweetfin at least 5 times, and I can't figure out if it's this location that just over salts and over sauces their poke. I don't get it.
google avatar

Nasim T.

Yelp
This two stars are just for the fish being fresh. - Large order is very small. Didn't fill any of us. - The food doesn't even fill into the middle of the bowl - Very expensive $18 + tip = $20 - You can't see the options, you can only order them. - For the large option, you only have two choice of meat. - Their spicy is EXTREMELY spicy. I like spicy but couldn't really taste the food.
google avatar

Catherine S.

Yelp
Just got home I ordered a bowl with avocado and it's not on there (avocado is extra) I paid for a water bottle didn't receive that either I even tipped them... Super disappointed And customer service only texts so they are no help
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
quality poke a must try , will be back for more. Quality fresh seafood at a reasonable price
google avatar

Kristi C.

Yelp
Pretty bad. The food is edible and the fish is fine, but the options they give you for rice, sauce, and the toppings just don't taste good. This isn't traditionalist poke. It's new wave, del mar, southern California cauliflower poke that takes the flavor out of everything to keep things 'healthy.' If you're going to charge an arm and a leg for your bowls then actually put the right toppings on people food (mine were not what I ordered). I walked away with a stomach ache.
google avatar

Dennis O.

Yelp
Don't go here. Worst poke bowl ever. I ordered with the crunchy toppings (since the free toppings are limited) and they put 1" thick of burnt toppings on top. I scraped it off but even the other remaining pieces were hard as a rock. The rest of the bowl was sub-par and I experienced a stomachache afterwards.

Yelp
After tasting a sample at the Yelp Elite Event, I decided I had to try a poke bowl to really decide if this place was for me! I landed on Salmon and Yellow Fin with Sriracha ponzu with Avocado on bamboo rice. I'll be honest, this place is a little different than most spots I've been too, so I can understand some Yelpers low reviews, but you have to go in with an open mind and recognize that this spot is offering a little healthier and sort of fancy type bowls. That being said, I really enjoyed my bowl. The small bowl looks small, but it had plenty of food in it to fill me up. The bamboo rice was just enough and didn't hog the bowl. The amount of fish was actually pretty good and definitely comparable to other spots. The salmon was buttery tasting and both the salmon and yellow fin were fresh. I love Sriracha and Ponzu, so the sauce was really a win for me! It was a little spicy and a little citrusy. You pay an extra dollar for avocado, but they give you a good amount. I just have to have avocado whenever it's an option! The customer service was good. You could tell the staff was exhausted from hosting the Yelp event, but they kept trucking along with smiles in their faces. They gave out over 200 samples! Eating here was a perfect end to an awesome night! I'll be back for sure! You should check it out too!

Yelp
We stopped by last Thursday for dinner. SERVICE - The service was incredibly slow. While we were in line, multiple people came up to the counter asking where their food was and why it took so long. BOWL - My husband got the salmon bowl and it was the large one. For what you pay, the portion was very small. The flavor of the bowl was delicious though and the salmon was fresh. The wait time and the size for what you paid was what brought down the stars for us.

Yelp
When I went in, there was a short line of people in front of me. The woman who took my order was knowledgeable and helped me order a bowl with a few special additions. Their food is healthy and delicious. I would highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Karla B.

Yelp
Sadly the food is great until I came the consequent times and realized the employees wear gloves but never change them, the gloves are torn and disgusting. They use the gloves to not wash their hands but the gloves are disgustingly dirty! Health services should definitely come check this business out!
google avatar

Yelp
I picked up a bowl today during lunch and selected the Build Your Own Bowl option. I ordered it with Tuna, Salmon and Albacore. Overall I did like the variety of toppings and bases as well as the sauces. Unfortunately, I got really bad food poisoning an hour after eating the bowl so either the fish was not fresh or handled properly (or both).
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
Seriously delicious! And easy to fit into most diet or eating styles. They even have veggie/vegan options. I first came here for the yelp 15 year One Paseo event. I had a sample of the tuna with forbidden rice and was hooked. Came back a few days later and got the tuna with veggies and miso in too if sea kelp. I got a good amount of protein and low glycemic carbs. Pros: Quality Taste Menu Clean Location Cons: Large bowl was only 3/4 of way full Prices- would only come one one a while as the large bowl is around $12+. Parking could be an issue
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly, I wasn't thoroughly impressed by this place. No matter how hard I seemed to try, I could not find something that really blew me out of the water (other than the mushrooms). The prices seem to be a tad bit extra for the amount you receive, and it seems more snack-portioned than meal-portioned (maybe I just have high expectations - or eat too much). Nothing to write home about regarding service, or the ambiance. I feel as though the timeliness honestly depends on when you visit. Again, with regards to the food, I understand the health aspect of it. The sauce was probably the only saving grace. A miss for me, unfortunately. Don't think I'll be back - unless I'm in the area, craving for a snack of this specific type of food....

Yelp
Update during COVID19. Still really delicious! The fish is always fresh no matter what you choose. However, I do not know if they are having supply problems, but I have noticed the portions of raw fish per order has decreased. The creamy Togarashi sauce will basically go well with any BYOB combo. For the base, I like the cauliflower rice and kelp noodles. The cauliflower rice is not soggy at all! The kelp noodles are not too salty and come with crunchy carrot strings. Service is always friendly and efficient. While dine-in still is not allowed, One Paseo has many places to sit and physically distance from others while soaking in the wonderful San Diego sun. Open during COVID19. I have always loved coming to Sweetfin since they have opened. This is the best poke place in San Diego! Place an order on an app and then pick up from a table right outside their door via name. A practically contactless transact The place is conveniently located at a Tesla supercharger with many places to walk outside and physically distance yourself if you get there prior to your food being ready -- although the service is rather efficient. While their "special" bowls (rotating every 6 weeks it seems) are unavailable, Sweetfin still has their usual bowls available. I have tried all of them. . . Including the vegetarian ones. Three things set Sweetfin apart from all other poke places in SD. 1. The food is consistently fresh. 2. Cauliflower rice is a choice for a base. The cauliflower rice is finely cut and isn't too watery. 3. The bowl creations are well thought out. You can also get drinks for takeaway as well. I prefer the Lychee ginger. Not to sweet, and not too much bite. Refreshing especially if you decide on a spicy bowl. While Sweetfin allows you to "build your own bowl", I usual go for the bowls Sweetfin has already put on their menu. Here are my recommendations: 1. Gochugang salmon bowl. That black garlic sauce mmmmm. I never thought garlic and salmon would go well together as both have such strong flavors already. 2. Truffled Yuzu Albacore: albacore is a milder tasting fish and the balance of a citrus acidic yuzu flavor cuts nicely across the stronger flavor of truffle. 3. Miso eggplant bowl: reminds me of grilling eggplants with miso brushed on top when I was younger. Adding the sun dried tomatoes to this recipe was an unexpected plus! In a way this bowl is a flavor profile of spaghetti and meatballs to me. The tangy tomatoes and the meaty mushrooms. All mixed with the eggplant that acts like pasta to soak up all the tastes of the bowl.

Yelp
Vegan Friendly with Great Variety Sweetfin has an impressive amount of vegan options with lots of unique toppings to choose from. Just be careful to ask what sauces and bowl bases are vegan. There is a plant-based section on the menu with pre-designed bowls but the build your own bowls with either tofu or mixed vegetables offer so much opportunity for fun creativity. A couple ideas we recommend... The Tofu bowl with citrus kale salad as a base, bean sprouts, seaweed salad, shimeji mushrooms, edamame and a miso sesame shoyu sauce. The vegetable bowl with forbidden rice, shimeji mushrooms, eggplant, edamame, rapini, avocado, mango and pineapple with a ponzu lime sauce. Just an example of all the different choices they offer. Get creative and have fun!

Yelp
Unfortunately, as much as I love Sweetfin's food, I have to give this location 1 star. I order here on a regular basis and almost every time they refuse to include items I'm charged extra for. I typically order from here 3-4 times a month, and this has been happening with regularity for the last year. I order through Sweetfin's mobile app, which REQUIRES you to scroll through all the additional toppings and items you can include on your bowl to actually add it to your cart. I typically add 1-2 additional toppings that I like, which I am charged extra for. Without fail, all the items I'm paying extra for are left off my order. Don't offer customizations to orders if it's not actually going to be fulfilled. I've been assured repeatedly it will never happen again, and it happens nearly every time. I'm getting really exhausted by having to contact support for a refund on the money they took from me with no intention of providing me the items I paid for.

Yelp
The picture says it all. This size is a joke. Opened my bag and immediately regretted my decision.

Yelp
My coworker ordered ahead of time so we could have time to enjoy our food during our lunch break, when we arrived the two employees were standing around and we had to ask about our order which then took 20 minutes to complete. On top of that the bowls were skimpy. I was super excited to try but glad I now know where not to get poke.

Yelp
I used to be obsessed with sweet fin and would get it several times a month and would crave it. It's a really cute idea and great looking interior. But now, I haven't really been there in quite a few months because of a few reasons. First of all, they barely give you any fish or toppings for the price that you pay. If you get mango on it, they barely give you any. Same with seaweed salad. I really like the business model of making your own bowl but I feel like they could execute it a little better. It also takes forever for them to make the bowl. I've had to wait 20 minutes for a simple bowl. I understand that they may be backed up with online orders but I don't want to wait that long when I can just go to Cava or shake shack. Also, the fish options are not very good. I can only get the salmon there because I don't like the other options. Their rice is also pretty mid. I get that they're trying to be sophisticated with bamboo rice and what not but like they barely give you any either. So I probably won't be going to sweetfin again because there's so many better poke options out there that give you way better poke for better prices. Overall it's just mid.

Yelp
I had a truffled yuzu albacore bowl and was very disappointed. The dish was a complete failure for several reasons. First, the rice was undercooked, flavorless and dry. The toppings and the sauce were disappointing and bland. The albacore was stringy. There was a touch of truffle that would have been unnoticed if anything had any interesting flavors. If these were cheap poke bowls, it would get 2 stars. Considering the price it doesn't deserve more than one star.

Yelp
Sweetfin generously offered samples of two types of Poke bowls during the Yelp event. Not one to have ever experienced this new fad, I hesitated trying one. Seth was out there describing the bowls and what you could place on them. He made it so tempting, I decided to try one. Now I can't really describe what happened, but you would think my tastebuds were given the best thing it had ever had. Sheer perfection! I happily sample the other as I chat with Seth. Before you know it. I AM HOOKED! Yeah, a poke nut! By now the line is really long. It's an easy fix. I go inside and purchase my own! Sweetfin has a new fan!

Yelp
Came here during soft opening after the beach with my friends. There are signature preset bowls to choose from or you can make your own. What's cool is that there are plant-based/vegan options too! Most other poke places I've been to only have like 1 or 2 veggie options but Sweetfin has shiitake shrooms, tofu, eggplant, and sweet potato. No one in our party is vegan/vegetarian so we didn't try them but would probably get next time. I'm a creature of habit and so I created my own bowl and got salmon and yellowfin with ponzu lime and tried their cauliflower rice. I love their base options (bamboo rice, kelp noodles, kale salad, black rice, and cauliflower rice)! I don't know of any other poke places that has all these options for bases. Super awesome! Everything was really fresh and tasted yummy. The servers/cashiers were friendly and the storefront is so cute with beachy vibes even though it's located in an outdoor mall/plaza-y area. The store was also really clean and seems to be doing well even during soft opening. Sweetfin is a chain with multiple locations but this new one definitely is one of the better ones. Will be back next time I'm in the area. :)

Yelp
The wait is finally over! Soo excited Sweetfin has opened in north county San Diego. I've been going to the UTC mall location for awhile now and it never disappoints. This location is right in Carmel Valley/Del Mar area. Very beautiful space with fun vibes! Employees are welcoming and helpful if you're a first timer. Great place to come for a quick lunch or dinner. Especially if you're a poke person, this is the place for you! You can create your own bowl or choose one of their tasty creations on the menu. I personally always create my own bowl, personalized to my liking! I highly recommend the kelp noodle slaw for your base if you're looking for something nice, light, and delicious. The classic creamy togarashi (spicy mayo) is the way to go. My second favorite is the black garlic gochujang sauce, yummmm. You get 6 complimentary toppings with your bowl. Anything from crunchies, herbs and spices, to fruits and vegetables. Add-one premium toppings are available. Overall awesome establishment. Will definitely be coming back! Many times.
