sweetgreen - Healthy Salads, Bowls and Plates

Ordered a BYO salad and loaded it with extras, so that I would have lunch and dinner. Instead, they charged me $28 to give me a small sample of each of the extra ingredients, rather than a full portion of each, so that it ends up being the same amount of food as an order half that price. See picture. I ordered with coworkers, who got the same amount of food for $15. In this economy, you should be ashamed. If someone is paying you for twice as many ingredients, the order should be bigger than a regular order. Folks, don't let these people cheat you as well. Hopefully, they cheated me for everyone's sake. Update (January 2026): Sweetgreen made this right by giving me a $30 gift card. The two times I have been back to Sweetgreen since have been much better. I think this is an issue specific to food orders, so I would certainly recommend placing your order in person.

Nice and clean spot! It’s a bit on the smaller side with limited seating, but most people seem to order to go anyway. I dined in with a friend, and we both really enjoyed our meals. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The line moved quickly, and service was efficient. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality definitely makes it worth it. Overall, a great experience!

I had this lady named daisy and she was super rude and super mean. I can in sweet if you have her just run away at this point or ask for someone else. The food was great though

Can’t beat the price and taste of Sweetgreen. I wanted to treat the film crew to a healthy and savory option that would keep them rolling for hours!

Ick. First time here. They make a point of telling you where every ingredient is sourced and then treat them like crap in an assembly line process. Dirty countertops, food mixing into other bins, service à la slop. I felt truly uncomfortable in the little dining room with the line of customers breathing down my neck. I’ll stick with Farmers Fridge next time.

The lady handling my food was horrible. I asked for heavy sauce she put heavy salt. Who puts half of a container on a salad. Then after receiving my food the guy throws the bag at me because his coworker made a mistake and I asked for it to be corrected. I won’t go to this location ever.!The new on franklin way better great upgrade with barely any contact.

This is the second best salad I've ever had in my life. That is not to be taken lightly considering I have salads daily. The ingredients alone didn't begin to give you an idea of the flavor in the Green Goddess Avocado Salad. Every bite was incredible. There was so much flavor and the size was very filling. The staff was very warm, friendly, and welcoming too

The biggest ding here is that I think Sweetgreen is WILDLY overpriced. I typically get the Shroomami Bowl with +chicken and it comes out to $21. No sides or drinks, just the bowl. That said, this particular location does load me up on that bowl! I can sometimes save half for the next day. It's CRAZY busy at weekday lunch, line is long and sometimes a huge crowd for mobile orders. It can be a hectic and a little overstimulating atmosphere. But the staff member that does the pick up orders is super super sweet and friendly! I recommend doing a mobile order for slightly earlier than you intend to arrive if you don't want to stand around.

Organic salads well done: I love the brand overall. This is not the best location, not as well designed/refreshed and often a little dirty/unkept but not unreasonable. For most Americans this type of meal will not be "big enough" but I think the lesson is that these dishes are the perfect size for a meal, and perfectly healthy, even RFK Jr would agree. This is one of the few place open later on weekdays/weekends when you are going to a show in the area.

I finally got around to trying Sweet Green. I ordered the Steakhouse Chopped with Herbed Quinoa, Chopped Romaine, Tomatoes, Shredded Cabbage, Crispy Onions, Caramelized Garlic Steak, Avocado, Green Goddess Ranch, Lime Cilantro Jalapeno Vinaigrette, and a Lime Squeeze. I was highly disappointed. With all the hype I expected more. Honestly, I'd rather make a bowl myself or go somewhere else, especially if the bowl costs over $20.

Had my usual custom rice bowl with vegetables and tried their new ripple fries. They tasted different but I wanna try them again and see if they are good. This location of sweetgreen is clean and got good service.

Came back to this location to pick up two meals and had a much better experience this time, so it could have just been a difference in the specific staff who prepared the meals both times around. The order was correct, maybe a little light on sweet potatoes, but otherwise no issues!

Now I love a healthy option for lunch, and truly do love the wide variety of options Sweet Green offers in terms of salads and grain bowls. The quality of ingredients at this location lived up to the SG name. However, if you value your time, do NOT pre-order or do order for pickup at this location. Especially during the lunch rush. I waited 40 minutes in the store past when my order was supposed to be ready (while pick up orders that were ordered wayyyy after mine were being prepared; no rhyme or reason to when they make the orders). Truly a waste of time, especially if you only have a short time to eat lunch during the work week. I would recommend coming in and just ordering the old fashioned way or ordering your lunch and picking up at least 1-2 hrs after it actually says it'll be ready.

Solid sweet green but they are overrun with orders at lunch order and the staff does a sloppy job putting orders together hastily. Even ordering ahead takes a long while and sometimes waiting in-person is faster despite long lines. Ingredients are fresh but not always well portioned. Sauce goes on quite heavy so sometimes food gets soggy too. This was the case even when I asked for light sauce levels.

Sweetgreen has both drastically reduced the size of the bowls as well as increased their price. This was almost $20 and I was genuinely shocked when I picked it up. I used to order Sweetgreen on a pretty regular basis - it was easy and close by - but never again.

Honestly one of the WORST delivery experiences. Premium ingredients I paid extra for were missing and as for the sweet potatoes they threw in a massive un cooked chunk in there. This was almost $19 too. I called them and they told me I had to contact doordash and there was nothing they could do. I contacted doordash and they said they only delivered it and did not make the food so couldn't help. I called Sweetgreen again which I was greeted with horrible service and a phone hang up. The last time I ordered delivery from here I got a scoop of rice and tofu and no sauce. I thought maybe that was a one off situation, but unfortunately not. I think if you aren't standing in front of them while they make the bowl they try to scam you. I will never eat at another sweetgreen again.

i've picked up from here twice now after ordering via the app. first i noticed that the portions are way smaller than ordering in person. the bowl is filled up around only two thirds. second, i ordered the crispy rice bowl and they were out of arugula in app so i opted for spinach. when i got home and opened my bowl, i was extremely disappointed to see there was no bread (even though i asked for it in-app and it's on the receipt), no dressing (UGH), and no almonds. HOW do you forget three things when already one ingredient is out to begin with?

Super green goddess salad, not bad. Added diced apples which added a nice sweetness. And the avocado (small up charge) was perfectly ripe and creamy. Would have been even better with something pickled. I might swap the dressing next time, too. Ranch was good/rich/creamy but I'd prefer something lighter.

I love sweet green ! I customized mine. As you can tell I added quite a few items on my salad which can be a little expensive . It was very much worth and definitely got me full

Craved a salad and was referred here by a friend that eats here almost everyday. My friend did not exaggerate! The inside is very trendy and modern like with some seating. The line was pretty long however it moved fast as multiple people were completing orders. The menu has both salads and warm bowls available. I created my own salad with kale, romaine, mixed greens, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and steelhead with balsamic vinaigrette. Fresh and delicious. May sound simple to some but the salad is very tasty and I will probably order here alot since I work less than a block away.

I love sweet greens My to-go would be the Parmesan chicken and now it's the chimichurri sweet potato asparagus bowl. I notice that wherever I order online the portions seem a lot smaller than when I order in person. Also avoid sweet greens at lunch time! The line can go almost out of the door!

Best fast food out there! Everything is made with clean, whole ingredients and the best part is no crappy inflammatory oils!!!

A warning to others.... I have got the same salad for a year and today my 18 dollar salad is now 25 dollars. Absolutely no difference in my older. Prices have increased across the board in the last week. I will support small mom and pop places moving forward as there is no value here any longer for me. I will not return. I enjoyed the product when the price was fair.

Definitely a fan. At first, I was a bit hesitant after seeing how healthy the different options offered here are. But after seeing how generously sized the bowls are, packed with tons of flavor with a reasonable amount of calories -- I'm very excited to try more of the different options here. What really excites me here is how fresh the food is, with combinations that change my thinking about what healthy eating should taste like. The presentation is also great (despite getting a carryout order). Overall a good tasty choice for the health conscious eater. Definitely a cut above the standard fast casual salad options.

This place has a bit of a cult following with downtown office workers but I have to admit... it's pretty great. The ingredients are always fresh, the app makes ordering /pickup very fast and easy, and the dressing selection is top notch. While it does hurt paying such high prices for a salad it's one of the most healthy lunch options downtown. Personally I think the chicken is bad quality - so stick with the fish if you're trying to include some extra protein in your bowl.

I had an okay salad today. Ordering online is clear and fast. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. My salad took 45 minutes to get at lunch. It would have been much faster to walk in and wait in line to order. This place is not physically set up well to handle its volume.

I'm a fan of Sweetgreen despite their high prices. I've eaten at locations in LA, NYC, and Chicago. Quality of ingredients is generally pretty good in all stores. The bowls may seem small, but trust me, they're filling! I always make my own salad including my faves like spinach, wild rice, spicy broccoli, chickpeas, corn, sweet potato, and quinoa. For protein, I usually alternate between the chicken and the sesame tofu. The tofu here is sooooo addicting! I love the sesame oil glaze on it yum! Sometimes when I want to splurge a little, I get the steelhead as my protein, but it's so expensive! My bowl is $15+ if I get it...and sometimes the fish is a pretty small portion. I order on the app and pick up in store because the line is always crazy and out the door during the lunch rush. My bowl has missed some ingredients or bread in the past, which is a little annoying, especially because I discover when I'm back in my office. I also love the Sweetgreen app - super simple and easy to use.

Great, healthy lunch spot that's a little heavy on the wallet but totally worth it. I ordered the beet and goat cheese salad and I must say, if you're not a fan of beets, this will probably make you change your mind. I like how the restaurant gives you just enough goat cheese too. In fact, everything was really portioned well. Like everyone else, I will comment on the freshness of the produce and the fact that this is probably one of the better casual dining for salad places that you'll find. My salad was about $12, a little costly for a regular lunch spot for me, but one that I will occasionally treat myself with. _________ one week update: Yeah, I had to come back and try their warm harvest bowl. Warm wild rice, goat cheese, apples, sweet potatoes and kale. It was so good. I don't even like salads...What have I become?

Food is good, service is unbearable. Takes at least an hour if you preorder, and then wait an additional 25 minutes after the pickup time. I understood delays but they have an app and can notify customers not to come pickup and wait forever. If you want sweet green, preorder by 11a or you'll be eating lunch at 2p!

I really love the salads but the amount of mess-up's when I pick the online ordering for my salad makes me give this place less stars. It sucks that they are in a small storefront and the line is always out the door especially during lunch. So I know they get busy. I really wish they would expand to more storefronts so maybe orders will be messed up less. Today, I went in and my salad wasn't there but my friends was. I had to wait for them to look for it and then eventually have someone remake my salad. It tasted just fine and they remade it to the , but I almost just asked for a refund because I didn't want to wait. I do really like how the salads taste and the freshness of the ingredients but this is place I have to decide on eating for lunch at 10am just to have it ready by lunchtime. Plus, I'm always risking having some mess up with the online ordering. I do think that if you really like salads and want a healthy choice for lunch and totally up for the gamble on how your online order will go then try this place. I do like the salads overall. I like them way more than Just Salad salads.

The Quick: this is a great sweetgreen Location with amazing vegan options. The spicy cashew dressing will change how you view salads, trust me. I always make my own as it's more cost effective , but they have great options. Make sure to order ahead if you're in a rush... There's ALWAYS a line

The team gathered for a meeting meal here and it's a nice shop. Super clean and bright, it looked like there were a bunch of take out orders. Their ingredients are fresh and bountiful. I had the Pesto Portobello which is a warm salad with warm quinoa, organic arugula, roasted chicken, warm portobello mix, raw corn, hot chickpeas, spicy broccoli, pesto vinaigrette clocking in at 775 calories and $12. Now if I ate this all in one sitting 775 would be insane! But it actually was a big portion and it made 3 meals for me so the calorie content per meal wasn't too bad. However my coworkers all ate their salads in one sitting. Nearly 800 calories for salad!? Ah! Madness. The portion is pretty big though so if you think $12 for a salad is pricey...it's actually not bad for what you get. The Pesto Portobello was one of their premade selections and though tasty & fresh, I don't think I'd get it again simply because of the high calories in it. All that aside, I like sweetgreen. It's a healthy & fast option we very much needed in Chicago. The workers wore shirts with cute sayings but seemed pretty over being there - kind of standoffish and bored attitude. All this being said, I would definitely give sweetgreen another go. I'd be more likely to try a different location though!

*Drop off at office review* I've never been to an actual location. To be honest I didn't know who or what they were until I came back to work from being remote for over a year to find out my firm buys us lunch daily, (give us a $50 weekly credit) and this is the place that provides us our lunch and who they have partnered with. Delicious...Delicious DELICIOUS!!! Every Salad/Warm bowl I have had has been good. Had the Chicken and Brussel Sprouts salad yesterday and the Fish Taco warm bowl today and I scrape the bowl of every piece of arugula or quinoa..lol! You literally build your own salad or warm bowl with whatever you want out of 1000 ingredients. Bowls are all made fresh to order and you can tell. The portion size is perfect and very filling. My job pays for it so the cost isn't a factor for me, but when I'm ordering I do see the cost and one salad or warm bowl can set you back $15 plus bucks depending on the salad and what extra you add, so definitely not a cheap food option, but for all fresh healthy ingredients I'm sure this justifies it. Still not sure I would be willing to pay this daily, actually I know for a fact I wouldn't pay $75 weekly for lunch, but as long as my firm footing the bill I will eat good and healthy the three times a week I'm in!

I often get lunch here when I'm in the office--I usually order online for pickup so I can pick my order up during lunch break without waiting in line. They're very efficient and fast and I've never had any problems with my orders. Thank you! :)

I was excited to see sweetgreen recently opened this location in the loop - I had tried it before in DC and really enjoyed the harvest bowl. However this time I opted for a salad and I was less than impressed. Nothing about my experience stood out as anything other than average. Specifically, I got the rad thai with no extras, no drink and it was ~$12. It was a decent portion and fairly decent taste-wise, but for $12 it should be magical. It was also so busy during the lunch rush that I'm not sure employees had a lot of time to clean the eating areas. I'd definitely recommend taking your meal to go and opt for a bowl over a salad to get your money's worth.

For a while this location was better than the sears tower location....until now. Past few times I've ordered via the app, my salad has been really disappointing. Had 3 pieces of cauliflower today and all 3 were stalks. Left out the sunflower seeds, dressing not even filled halfway. Overall just really under portioned. I understand increased food costs, but I'm happy to pay slightly more to get a full meal. Instead I get half a salad and have to go get another lunch somewhere else. I've been going to sweetgreen since the first location in DC and I think today was the final nail in the coffin for me. 2 stars bc the few bites I get are quite tasty....

Had a really bad experience here a couple days ago. I ordered lunch for myself and a colleague at 10am, and scheduled delivery for 12pm. The food *never* came. I spent a lot of time waiting for the delivery guy, texting back and forth with Sweetgreen--all to no avail. I had meetings 1-3pm so couldn't go buy lunch until after 3pm, at which point I had a pounding headache. Sweetgreen refunded the money, and claimed (multiple times) that they'd give me a credit towards a future order, but it never materialized. I will probably never go back here, which is a bummer because I liked this place a lot.

I've always been a fan of places that make salad the same way a Subway makes sandwiches. There's Salata and also thankfully Sweetgreen. I like the selection, considering they have some premade combinations and build your own salad options. It's clearly a super busy location and appears to have some pickup options. Notably almost every recommended salad combination involves eggs or meat, which I find sad considering it's a *salad*/fast food salad place. Still nice to have a place to make a non boring salad!

I've eaten at this restaurant a number of times, but this may be my last. As I approach the restaurant, there was a trail of slime leaving from the front door. When I went inside to pick up my food, that same trail of slime lit all the way across the floor into the kitchen. There was someone sitting behind the counter, just looking at his phone. I can't imagine the health department would be thrilled by any of this.

Solid fast casual restaurant in the loop, must be relatively new because the review count is relatively low. I got the chicken pesto parm bowl with lots of hot sauce and a slice of rye bread. Sauce could've been spicier but the chicken and cheese were delicious and the quinoa held everything together nicely. Need to come back to try more but not complaints my first time here.

Ordered food for delivery to an Outpost location across the street from the store. Received notification that delivery was made... it was not. Myself and several other people were all notified of delivery and none of them were delivered. Tried calling the store... apparently you are not allowed to talk to the store directly. You can only text with their customer support team who is 100% useless as they can only reach out to the store and wait for a response. My lunch period was used up trying to get an answer. In the end, I got a refund and a credit to my SG account which will not be used and I will never go there again. An error is one thing... that happens, but the fact that it is impossible to get to the source of the error to have it corrected. No thanks.

Delicious and healthy salad options, and this place looks like a healthier Chipotle with various add-ons. Sauces and toppings galore, while also vegetarian and vegan friendly. It's a good option for those on the go or for a work lunch since it's healthy, not carb heavy, and a nourishing meal

Sweetgreen does fast food salad about as good as it gets. I thought this was mainly a NY thing but I've seen more of these pop up around the city. Their menu is pretty vast offering like 12ish premade salads which are definitely more bang for your buck than creating your own. I had the spicy sabzi which featured mainly kale, beets, tofu with a spicy kick and a carrot vinagrette. The amount of veggies they give you is definitely enough for two meals, esp cause you can get full off all that fiber real quick. My bowl cost around ~$10. My gf loves this place and swears by the harvest bowl. Nice layout of a restaurant. It was clean, sleek, and in the back you see the store's workers just unpacking what looks to be fresh vegetables. If you're looking to get your fiber on, look no further.

This place has great salads but they are quite expensive. On average you will have to pay $10-13 per bowl. It's only one of the very few places that serves fresh salads and ingredients in the loop area. I only came here for convenience since I wanted to eat something healthy and didn't have a packed lunch. I would come here again tho. I'm tempted to just go to Trader Joe's and get all the ingredients that I need to make a delicious salad like sweetgreen to save money.

I love this place and eat here multiple times a week. I work by the SG in the Loop and live near the SG in River North. I get the Hummus Tahina and for some reason the hummus tastes way better at the loop location. I also love their drinks, specifically their house made Frescas. This has to be the most unorganized and unprofessional Sweet green I've ever been to. I wish I can give it no stars. On top of that very Ghetto. The service is very bad and they do not have good timing. I had a 1:30 pick up and wait for 40min after the pick up time for it to be fulfilled then got a nasty attitude from the employees.

I love sweetgreen! Very solid healthy lunch option - you know exactly what is going into your food. Great for vegans, GF, vegetarians, etc because everything is customizable. - My favorite signature orders are the shroomami (the miso sesame ginger dressing is my absolute favorite) and the harvest bowl. - I usually end up customizing my own, but I only recommend doing this if you are ordering there. Sometimes my order gets messed up if I place a to-go BYO salad or bowl. All the ingredients are so fresh and there are so many good options! - Location can get really busy during lunchtime on work days BUT this is expected. It's very popular because it's such a healthy and fast option. - Prices are a bit steep but to be expected because you are paying for high-quality ingredients. ALSO, the bowls are ginormous. They bowls are very large and they pack them to the top, which is great because I can often save some of my salad for another day. - Make sure to get the free bread if you want it! I didn't know that this was an option the first few times I ordered here.

Depending on what you buy, you will form an opinion on this place. The ingredients are super fresh and the people are cool. I posted a picture to show you what to get and what not to get. Harvest Bowl should be your first go to, if this is your first time there.

I've come here twice, and both times, my meals have been free. WHAT?!, you ask... Well, the first time, I came for their grand opening after seeing an ad on Facebook, and they were literally giving out free dinners to anyone who passed. The second time, my friend and I had planned to come for dinner, and as coincidence would have it, I received an email that morning stating that sweetgreen had added $15 to my app since I had come to the grand opening. OK, I'll take it! Both times, I had the Harvest Bowl, and it was amazinggg. I will happily pay for this in the future, but sweetgreen has me sold on customer service, generosity, AND excellent food. The staff members are friendly, and the atmosphere is clean and bright. This location also has much more seating than their restaurant in River North, which is convenient. Recommend!

Don't go! They are often out of standard ingredients -- avocado, bacon, almonds -- and the vegetables are often old/wilted. If you order online and have a complaint (for example, ingredients missing from a standard menu salad), the store manager can't help and can only refer customer to contact the company through the ordering app. And the employees seem stretched too thin and are kind of rude.

First time dropping in for a late lunch. I downloaded the app from the App Store and ordered my bowl there. The app is very well written, user friendly and visually appealing. I placed my order for 1:30pm pickup and once it was ready it magically appeared on the shelf! It's very convenient for people on the go or busy schedules. I went with a safer option today with the Harvest Bowl which has apples, sweet potatoes, chicken, wild rice, almonds, cucumbers and corn over a bed of kale. I swapped out the cheese and apples for corn and cucumbers. The bowl tasted great but it was definitely difficult to toss and mix everything evenly. I think if you eat there they can toss the salad for you. The food was very fresh and tasty. I'd definitely will stop by once a week. If you download their app and spend $99 you get $9 back in credit. It is part of their rewards program.

If you are in the loop and wish to have a healthy and hearty meal this is the place. There are bowls and salads, some with meats and some great vegan options too. Tried the harvest bowl, it is such a great flavor combo, with kale, chicken, sweet potato, pecans and goat cheese. If you want creative salads, not the average lettuce and tomato this is a great spot for you. It is crowded during lunch time, but hey which place in the loop isn't?

Huge fan. Fresh veggies. My salad had salmon and it was quite a hearty piece that was cooked just right and seasoned amazingly. The salad in itself was a good size - overall it was great value for the price! I had it delivered and it arrived really quickly. I'll be ordering from here again!

I had lunch with a co-worker at sweetgreen and we had an enjoyable lunch. First off, I'm not much of a salad guy... I love veggies, but a salad is more of an accoutrement than a main dish for me. However, my co-worker low-key loves this place and so I figured I'd give it a shot. The line was pretty long, literally out the door, when we arrived but it moved along at a pretty decent clip. What helped as well was an employee who was working the line and handing out menus - perfect for a n00b like me. Their menu is on par with most other salad places: they have pre-made combinations and then you can always make your own. I went with the Spicy Sabzi (with extra dressing...) and it was VERY TASTY! In fact, I was a bit surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Additionally, it was decently filling. I mean, I wasn't stuffed but I also was not hungry after finishing it. We took our salads to go so there isn't much I can say about the restaurant itself - however, it is pretty well kept (clean, well-lit, inviting) and everything is out in the open for you to see (behind a sneeze-guard, of course). The line is a bit of a pain for anyone dining-in, because it snakes through all the tables and renders some un-usable, but most everyone seemed to be making the best of the situation. Finally, the staff was friendly and quick and the prices are on par for what I like to spend for lunch ($10). This was a very enjoyable experience and I think, against my better judgment, I'll be adding this to the normal rotation - the first salad place to ever accomplish this feat!

Big fan of this SG location! Orders are always ready on time and the delivery is quick and efficient. Also, the portions are great and the food is always fresh!
