It seems unbelievable, but every time I come here, I have to wait at least 15 minutes. I'm a food delivery driver, and I waited 20 minutes for a salad to be ready.
Imagine that. Everything is ready. All they need to do is put it in a cardboard bowl and serve it as if serving a prisoner. Even with all this simplicity, this place manages to be 20 minutes late.
Just kidding. Of course not. They simply put delivery drivers last or don't have any system to serve on time, or even with an acceptable delay of 5 minutes.
So, let me make it clear here to the noble consumers of Greenwich. The amount of time I invested in this wonderful delivery was 5 minutes to get to the place, 20 minutes of waiting, and then another 10 minutes to arrive at the delivery spot. Add another 5 minutes to park, go upstairs, and hand it to the customer.
For these 40 minutes, I was paid $2.00 by the wonderful app, plus a miserable tip of $2.46, making the grand total of $4.46 in the capital city.
As for this store, I'll keep coming back and hurting myself, and I'll make as many posts as necessary until this teenage owner understands how things work.
Regarding the customer who gave a $2.46 tip, all I can say is that this is my last week in Greenwich. I must say, this town is strange. A bunch of fancy stores and hundreds of investment firms with the lowest tips in the region, from Westport to Rye.
To finish, I want to say that the customer is not obligated to tip, but tips represent 70 to 80% of our income, and without them, it's definitely not possible to work in this business. Knowing how much we are paid by the app, the decision lies with your conscience. Personally, I'd make my salad at home if I couldn't give a reasonable tip. As for the store, I don't know what to say. I've been doing this job for 5 years, and it's never been any different.
