Google
An apparently experimental location. There’s no people helping you… just a giant machine for employees to babysit. Gives next to no protein, and is genuinely one of the least hospitable or pleasant Sweet Green locations to eat at. The employees were fine, but any choices had to be entered into the app, you couldn’t converse with someone before ordering. Truly a terrible and dystopian experience. Also, Sweet Green corporate… if this is the future of your stores, I do not see much of one. Also, this is not on your employees… this is on your greed.

Google
Very clean location, however I ordered steak for my salad and it was extremely disappointing! I received about maybe 3oz of steak (that’s being generous) and it was extremely dry. If your craving steak in your salad, go to chipotle instead.

Google
My favorite salad place. I always make my own. The green goddess salad dressing is AMAZING!! I love that calories are updated as you individualize your salad. Highly recommended.

Google
Sweetgreen salads—usually a delight, A midday meal priced just right. I go inside, I craft with care, Gluten-free means tweaks here and there. But this location? Oh, what a scene! No salad artist, just a cold machine. Tap at the kiosk, choices unfold— Robot drops ingredients, careless and cold. Half an avocado, dropped like a brick, Whole and uncut—what a lousy trick. Shaken by machine with robotic might, Ingredients all huddled to one side tight. Too many pickled onions, lettuce rare, Who approved this mess? Does no one care? A lone human loads bins above, But checking salads isn’t something they love. Sweetgreen, normally you're five-star gold, But this automated mess leaves me cold. Same price for robot labor—quite obscene, Is your machine paid wages, Sweet-machine-green? Profits soaring, taste ignored, This robo-salad won’t win awards. So farewell forever to this robotic flop— Next time, humans-only salad shop!

I’d been wanting to go here for a while. I bought a couple bowls and was very disappointed at how bland the food was. Health doesn’t have to be flavorless.

Google
100% cold corporate feel. The atmosphere is horrible. Price is outrageous for basically zero employees. Food was hardly warm at all. You get to watch your bowl go down the assembly line being scanned to the corporate amount of food. So if all that isn't awesome enough. The place is filthy. Clean your own table before you eat. They don't even have wipes to clean the table. We won't make that mistake again. Just my experience.

Google
This was my first time going to a Sweetgreen. I was very excited as I have heard great things. I found it strange that you ordered at a kiosk and the food was dispensed onto a conveyor belt. When I opened my bowl, my friend and I were surprised by how sloppy the bowls looked. Mind you, the images looked beautiful and we were shocked. White rice was minimal and over cooked and mushy. My bowl was basically Arugula, even though I had plenty of other veggies that I ordered, they were lacking. I wasn’t impressed. Basically paid 15 dollars for arugula… Additionally, not 100% sure it correlates… but stomach was extremely upset all day and I ended up getting sick 🤢 later in the evening after being uncomfortable all day. The food just seemingly sat until it was gone, and it was definitely the one meal I had that came up… Sweetgreen. My hopes are that maybe it’s just not my forte. I would recommend Curito if you are looking for healthy power bowls!

We would definitely eat here again! Not everyone in our group loves a salad but everyone in our group loved their choices! Good variety, easy to make edits. I would have liked clearer dairy free notes but we asked and that was easy.

Sean K.

Yelp
Want to pay a $15 for a salad bowl that looks like it was dropped down two flights of stairs before being served? Have I got a place for you! Taste is decent but presentation is horrendous.

Yelp
This is one more (maybe one too many) trendy spot in downtown Naperville. The food was fine. If you are looking for all green vegetarian fare, the food is just fine, but do it as take out. (It looks like most customers do.) But the concept doesn't sit well with me. You order your food on a terminal without human interaction. Then you can watch an automated robot assembly-line assemble veggies in plastic bowls. There is little interaction between the staff and customers. They have a handful of teenagers hidden behind the glass prepping the veg, but they don't come out. (They apparently don't clean the tables.) The small dining area is cold and uninviting. There were people sitting at all of them, but mostly waiting for their online orders. The only open table was pretty dirty. Again, nothing wrong with the food, but the experience was cold and unfriendly. I would not eat-in here again.

Yelp
I think I finally found the salad bowl of my dream. This sweet green crispy rice chicken bowl with spicy cashew is so good. The bowl was so fresh and filling. It was a lot too I couldn't find all in one sitting as you can see in the pic below haha

Ann B.

Yelp
Eh. Wish I loved it. But I just was not impressed . Like the concept - but it was all basic and underwhelming. The dispensers gave me like all kale and lettuce. It spat out minimal veggies, protein and cheese. Maybe lll try again sometime. Three stars bc it was clean inside and I'm not a jerk.

Jaime R.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Sweetgreen and love their food but I do not care for the automated concept at this location. The prices are the same as other locations but portions are wayyyy smaller, especially when it comes to proteins. The ordering system is strange and you can't see any of the ingredients which is part of the draw of Sweetgreen. It is nice to see the fresh food right in front of you but that's not an option at this location. It is also difficult to customize certain things with the ordering system. I was so excited to be close to a Sweetgreen but I wish this was just the regular set up instead of this weird skimpy robotic system.

Kathy M.

Yelp
Self serve, pay and order at iPads. Cool the way the cut veggies are stored. I was so hungry and this was delishous. My only bummer was I think I had 3 pieces of tofu so if you want actual proper protein- pay for more.

Anita P.

Yelp
All orders at sweet green are taken electronically on one of their kiosks and the delivery/service is super quick! The past 2 times I've come here I have gotten the custom bowl, and they have TONS of options for toppings/greens/rice/dressings. My fav dressing of ALL TIME is the spicy cashew - I'd eat that stuff with a spoon. The place itself is pretty cute and there's enough seating for a quick bite with a few friends. I think the only thing I have to knock this place on is the salad prices are pretty steep (usually upwards of $13). I'll come again but probably not for a while for this reason.

Cassandra D.

Yelp
4 stars mostly for taste!!!! I looove sweetgreen salads and I was beyond excited to find they were opening one in Naperville!! Quality-wise it seems the same from the delicious salads I've gotten from the Oakbrook location. BUT they have almost no staff here? The salads at this location are mostly made by machine- which looks kinda cool ?? But for me this makes the ambiance a little sad and lifeless. I like ordering from a human, talking to them, and having an experience with my food. But this machine causes a serious lack of customer service because there isn't really anyone to interact with? Anyway the parking stinks but I always get lucky parking near the boutiques around the corner. But you expect this too with dt napes! Again- fantastic salads; unique, hearty, comforting and decently sized. Highly priced but... welcome to healthy eating!! Where everything good for you costs extra! yay America.. And boooo to a machine making my salad

Shannon M.

Yelp
So many friends have become addicted to this place that I had to check it out. Now that I have, I'm excited it's here! I'd been hoping we'd get something like Currito that's in south Naperville in the downtown area, and this is a similar, with healthy salads and bowls. You can choose a premade creation (though about half of them contain kale, which is not my favorite), Or do what I did and make a custom job. Mine contained wild rice (they were out of quinoa), chicken, roasted sweet potato, red onion, chickpeas, and some other stuff, along with a cashew dressing and a squeeze of lime. Overall, very tasty! Also, if you order in you can watch everything being assembled by the robot assembly line: feels like you're in the Jetsons! We ate on the back patio, which is basically in the parking lot on Jackson but is secluded by a high wall so it doesn't feel so parking-lot-y. Overall, will definitely return!

Jon K.

Yelp
This was our first time eating at sweetgreen, and it won't be our last. The food was excellent, and I love the fact that I can take my time at a kiosk to customize my order exactly how I want it. Very clean and simple inside, plenty of seating, and great value.

Zsa Zsa S.

Yelp
This place is so overpriced for absolutely what....I was expecting the most delicious sald for $20...but instead of getting a salad I got a bowl full of cilantro The way they advertise these bowls on the menu are incredibly different from how they present them in real life. I dont know if I just got the wrong thing but this thing that I got shouldnt even me an option on the menu If I wanted cilantro I wouldve gone to jewel and picked up the $2 head of cilantro at jewel If I could give this place zero stars I would

Yelp
It's opening day today in Naperville! And we are so excited Sweetgreen has arrived! The team was friendly and welcoming! I love the little outdoor seating area which will be perfect for the summer. I loved the seasonal lemony salad! They also had a cute section to take home produce in honor of the opening day!

Rich P.

Yelp
I stopped in here for lunch this weekend with my wife and daughter. We absolutely loved everything. I went with the buffalo chicken salad and my wife went with the Cobb salad while my daughter just went with the focaccia and hummus. Everything was delicious. The chicken in my sald was very tasty, not sure what they put on it but it was great. All the ingrediants were very fresh. Serving sizes were generous as well. My daughter whom said she didn't want a salad ended up picking at mine and eating about a third of my wifes salad. My daughter is already asking when we can go back. It's a pretty cool concept the way everything is automated but makes me wonder if that robotic machine breaks if they have to close the restaurant down. My only slight complaint is the self service ordering stations, they are very close together, crowded and slow, there was a line out the door behind us simply because it took people several minutes to navigate the ordering screens to place each order. That may be the downfall of this establishment because had we walked in 5 minutes later and seen that line we would have walked past and eaten someplace else. I hate self checkout lines...They're the worst thing ever.

Elise J.

Yelp
I am a seasoned Sweetgreen lover, but this is a really great, convenient new experience! As far as I can tell, the menu is the same, but the automation is what sets this location apart, of course. You can order via app or on touchscreen kiosks in the store, which is what we did. Very smooth and intuitive experience, and we were able to successfully modify our items without any confusion. Staff is also available to lend a hand if needed. From the time we paid until our bowls were in hand, it was about 3 1/2 minutes. Amazing. It was a ton of fun watching our bowls make their way through the automated salad-maker, and the staff at the end of the line took great care to apply covers and check our orders. More product was being prepped, and it was busy, so I assume turnover is high which promotes fresh ingredients. There is sufficient seating inside, and there is an outdoor patio area out back with umbrellas. We really had a lot of fun, and the food at the end was pretty great too :) We're so happy to have this location close to us, and we'll be back again and again!

Anjana T.

Yelp
All automated salad making. Amazingly efficient for customers! salads tasty as no one accidentally adds more dressing. There's a parking space for pickup right outside - it doesn't look like you can park there but you can.

Linda C.

Yelp
I've heard good things about sweetgreen and was beyond excited to try it. I absolutely love the atmosphere at this restaurant. It's so easy to order using the kiosks and they have someone in front to help or answer any questions you may have which is great. Now let's get to the good part of this review, the food. For the past two times I've been here, I haven customize my order which I love. The portion size is huge for the price you are paying.. although I feel like the price is on the expensive side a bit. Definitely worth checking out.

Sharon R.

Yelp
Fast and delicious service! Thank you for your time Unfortunately you want me to keep talking to get the right number - annoying!

Dan H.

Yelp
We ordered takeout. Quality was good. Portions were ridiculously small. The bowl I ordered did not contain all of the ingredients listed. Bread unavailable. Very poor value.

David M.

Yelp
My go to for a good salad, there hasn't been any other place that really compares especially if you go with their custom option. Ordering custom can be a tad expensive depending on what you add but the portions, taste, and overall quality make it well worth the price. The atmosphere here has always been welcoming, as I feel as though the people who work here actually care about providing a fast and healthy food service.

Lexi J.

Yelp
It's a bougie Panera without sandwiches. At least from what I remember. That's the literal tea. Salads are sensational, I like the interactive menu. Great teas and beverages. I saw people on laptops, there were a few tables and it had a pretty cool vibe too. Parking on side street but DT Naperville is intense with all of the construction. It's on Jefferson across the street from Jeni's.

Paige N.

Yelp
This is my first time going to any sweet green location and I will be back ! They have tablets for everyone to place their order which made the process quick and easy. They salad I got was very fresh tasting ! They have a nice patio for outside eating as well as a large dining space . I think this was a great addition to downtown Naperville and is perfect if you're looking for a quick healthy bite !

Jungle K.

Yelp
Food is good. Person behind counter must be miserable, when I asked for water, she acted like I wanted a kidney. 2:30 in the afternoon, empty your trash out Food is good. Person behind the counter must be miserable. When I asked for water she acted like I wanted a kidney. 2:30 in the afternoon, empty your trash! Ridiculous and very unappealing to sit outside and stare at that!

Katie B.

Yelp
Fast, healthy and delicious. I highly recommend trying it. I think this is a great addition to Naperville. I hope it does not go away.

Mary T.

Yelp
Too bad. Like the concept but disappointed. Way too pricey for what you get! Sorry, won't be coming back.

Gary S.

Yelp
The salad was very good. It was our first time and we found it a little confusing but we enjoyed the experience.

Amanda B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and i decided to try sweetgreen after the gym today and needless to say we won't be coming back anytime soon. I ordered the harvest bowl and it was fine... seemed like to me mostly kale and little of the rest of the ingredients. My boyfriend ordered they hot honey mustard chicken plate and barley got any chicken but got more hair.... He found 2 pieces of black hair in his food and neither of us have black hair. There was also more hair wrapped around the utensils... over hyped place for an underwhelming experience.

Jake T.

Yelp
The service was some weird robot thing making the food right infront if you. but it was cool to watch. Nice to sit outside on the little patio. Food was healthy I usually don't like salads and I loved it.

Alex W.

Yelp
Got here and placed an order on the tablet. It said 3-5 min. After 10 minutes passed and nothing came out, I asked someone what was going on. He said the whole sweet green ordering system was down, so they couldn't take any orders. There were three employees standing within 10 feet of me while I placed my order, and none of them said anything! Why would you let customers place orders when you can't make them? Baffling and terrible service. He also told me that because their system was down, my credit card wouldn't be charged. I just checked, and it was charged. Now I'm going to have to dispute it, which is going to waste more of my time. This could have been avoided if any employee had taken five seconds to tell me not to place an order. Zero stars for the folks working here and running this place.

Haleigh M.

Yelp
I love Sweetgreen. We get it every week. There are times an ingredient or two is missing, which can be a bummer. But tonight I received a salad with only pickles, sweet potatoes and dressing. I get ingredients run out but at least attempt a substitute given how much you're paying for a salad.

Mr B.

Yelp
Really nice place. We bought 5 salads, everything was great, then we noticed one of the salads had a bunch of hair in it. Like someone just got a haircut, and it fell into the bowl. Was really excited for this place. Hope it was just an accident, but that was so disappointing.

Mary P.

Yelp
Great salads to consider or create your own make this place pretty healthy and delicious. They were out of low-calorie dressings when I was there. I will go again and bring Skinny Girl dressings with me.

Brandi I.

Yelp
I love sweetgreen and have been a customer of various other locations across Chicagoland. I was thrilled when one moved into my neighborhood. However, the quality control is not up to par. They swapped ingredients on a delivery order without notification thereby changing the entire flavor and texture of the salad. Considering the salad is about $15, it's disappointing to not get what you've ordered.

Julie R.

Yelp
ordering was very easy in store. i got the green goddess salad i believe and it was delicious definitely sooooo expensive though.

C H.

Yelp
So glad to have a Sweetgreen in the area. Hope more will come to Naperville and Aurora.

Annie S.

Yelp
The portion sizes distributed by the machine were significantly less than when someone prepared my order at other sweetgreen locations. When I brought my order to the counter to show them, they were reluctant to add more. I ordered triple chicken and paid $22 for the bowl, and my bowl was 2/3 the size of the person I came with, whose bowl was $12. I will not be returning to this location and will opt for sweetgreen locations with workers working rather than machines.

Robert S.

Yelp
Great food and experience. Food is always fresh and relatively quick. We thoroughly enjoy dining here.

Bailey B.

Yelp
Sweetgreen is the perfect addition to downtown Naperville. I work within walkable distance and frequent sweetgreen for lunch for a VERY speedy, actually healthy lunch. I often take my salad to go, and I always feel very comfortably full. The hummus crunch salad is really fresh and yummy. Can't recommend it enough!

Brad F.

Yelp
I absolutely love Sweetgreen and have been to many of their locations in CA, so it pains me to write this. The new automated salad machines are mediocre, at best. I ordered a "custom" and encountered issues splitting the greens - I was told I couldn't customize that part of the order like I normally do (kale or spinach and a bit of arugula). I also couldn't go extra light on the dressing (light was too much). The staff was very friendly and it looks like there's still some "human touch" involved, though I hope they still prep fresh ingredients every day (can't see any prep, just the dispensers). The salad came out very mushy (maybe from the "spin cycle"?), so I would suggest tossing your own and getting it unmixed if you're a fan of fresh and crisp. The machines are novel and "cool," but the whole point of going to Sweetgreen vs. the competition are the fresh ingredients and the fresh textures and taste. The restaurants used to be designed around this idea (seemingly). The ambience is also very cramped at this location, likely because of the wall of machinery - normally the stores are very open (and again, can see the fresh prep), even though, of course, in some stores the real estate is tight. In any case, I hope this is just a pilot and the other stores don't go to this new format.

F B.

Yelp
We've had salads from Sweet Green in other locations, this was not up to par. The chicken in ours had a lot of "non chicken" parts in it, that was gross. The spinach in it looked like it was a heartbeat from being spoiled. My husband ordered a side of focaccia, he said it was terribly dry, he didn't eat it. And we got a side of sweet potatoes to share, they looked like sad, soggy leftovers thrown in a container, and for whatever reason, the mustard container to go with it was about 1/10th full. Barely enough to dip two potatoes. I think they need to evaluate their products, and network with corporate or another successful store to find out how to do things properly. We'll try them again, as we've had great experiences in other locations, but this one is missing the goal!

Kayla N.

Yelp
I want to leave a good review because I love the concept & the food is actually good...when it's all there. Every single time I have ordered from this sweetgreen location there is something wrong with my order. Usually an entire ingredient is missing from one or both of the 2 bowls/salads I ordered. I've ordered warm bowls that came with no rice at all, I've paid extra to add chicken to a bowl & had no chicken. When the chicken is actually added to my bowl it has been a measly 1-2 tiny pieces. The last time I ordered 2 dressings on the side as I was not going to eat the salad right away, neither of the lids were properly secured, so both dressings were spilled all over the salad making it soggy before I got to eat it. When I consistently pay $30+ for 2 salads I at least expect all the ingredients to be there! Especially for a flagship testing store, I get working out the kinks of the new machines but I have given them plenty of chances. I've even tried reaching out to management privately on Yelp & still nothing.
