Sweetgreen Backtracks on Cashless Policy, Will Accept Cash in All Stores | Eater

"After going cashless more than two years ago to speed service, appeal to card-toting customers, improve employee safety, and eliminate cash handling, the fast-casual salad chain announced it will accept paper currency again at all 94 restaurants nationwide by the end of the year. The reversal was prompted in part by new local and state actions — Philadelphia recently banned cashless stores and several jurisdictions already require cash acceptance — and by the company’s acknowledgment that a no-cash policy limited access to its food. Critics have argued that cashless operations are classist and discriminatory toward unbanked or privacy-minded customers, a concern intensified by analysis showing about 95% of locations were in predominantly white, affluent zip codes. Company leadership framed the move as an evolution in response to changing business realities and its mission to broaden access, though observers caution that reintroducing cash may be only a superficial fix to deeper economic inequities." - Jenny G. Google
This was my first time ordering take out from sweetgreen through uber eats. I was very excited to try my build your own salad. When I opened it, it was missing half of the items. Both of my proteins were missing, the bread and the dressings. Very disappointed.

Google
Could I eat here daily? Yes. Yes I could! Amazing. Great variety and very fresh. Though I will say it’s either freezing cold or way too hot inside. Poor temperature control.

Jennica Mendoza

Google
The food here is amazing and nutritious. I eat here for the quality and long-term health benefits. The workers here are friendly. I would write their names here, but I don’t think they wear name tags. The only con is that It is a bit pricey. The bowl I order is about $15-16 after tip, but it’s a full meal that I can save and eat for later. It’s worthwhile to get the app and earn rewards for points.

I go to multiple Sweetgreen locations depending on where I am. I love their salads! I've tried menu items and created my own. You can't go wrong with either option. This place is a go-to for healthy food options! The only negative review is online ordering. I received less food when I did that. I recommend going in-store to order. Also, I hope the company re-packages their teas to say “unsweetened”.

Google
Friendly service! Chicken, banana peppers, pickled onions, cucumber, cabbage and extra hot sauce was delicious!

Google
$20….for lettuce and rice essentially. Paid for salmon. No salmon.

Google
I ordered on doordash and went for pickup. I came back home, opened the bowl, and see no steak or mushrooms that I added. None. I go back to ask, and the worker looks at me like I’m lying to them and doubfully hands me a box with ten teeny weeny pieces of steak. I had to pay $7 when I added steak on the app. Ridiculous service. Never going back.

Google
I ordered delivery today and it took me $12 (fee and tax not included) Here is what I got. A sip of overcooked sweet potato, some broccoli stalk instead of broccoli crown, countable onion and carrot slides. But fortunately I got some credit back after reporting this issue to online customer service. Want to lose weight? A salad bowl less than 500 kcal is here for you!🥲

Yelp
I've now been here several times and each time it has always met or exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food is fresh and everything tastes really good, even for a meat eater like me. I've tried not just the Super Green Goddess but the Shroomami as well. The latter is definitely a meal and will leave you feeling satisfied. True to the other reviews, it is a bit salty so be sure to eat any mushroom or tofu pieces with lots of the accompanying salad.

Yelp
The miso glazed salmon was delicious. It's a great sized portion and a great balanced meal. It includes the miso glazed salmon, avocado, cucumbers, pickled onions, crispy onions, white rice, nori sesame seasoning, and spicy cashew. It's a great mix of colors and textures.

Yelp
Placed an order online which was quick and easy! There are steps to watch so you know when the food is being prepared and ready for pickup. This bowl was filling, colorful and delicious! I loved all of the options for protein, toppings and dressings. Would eat this everyday if I could!

Yelp
The workers were kind and there was no wait at 7pm during a week night. They offered me a slice of bread but not my boyfriend which was kind of odd but not a big deal. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is really just the price to quality ratio. My bowl with steak, rice, 4 toppings, and feta was over $19. The quality is good, but not worth that much in my opinion.
google avatar

Suchi O.

Yelp
Clean place. Good service. Tried this for salads for the first time. Portion size on greens and other veggies is decent. Protein portions seemed skimpy. Loved their dressings, they are super tasty. We tried Hummus Crunch Salad, Buffalo Chicken Bowl, Chicken Pesto Parm. All of them were good.

Yelp
Sweetgreen located on Chestnut St between 18th and 19th. I ordered the Create Your Own bowl with seasonal spring mix, basil, miso sesame ginger dressing, cilantro, hard boiled egg, roasted tofu, warm portobello mix, spicy broccoli, tomato, lemon squeeze, and za'atar breadcrumbs. This location is conveniently located near Rittenhouse, friendly, and served hot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
To start off, I'm a pretty loyal Sweetgreen fan. Like any other chain, you'll sometimes see fluctuations in service/quality the more you go. However, I find that management in the locations as well as Sweetgreen corporate are nicely receptive to feedback or necessary complaints. Keep in mind that Sweetgreen charges a pretty penny in the product they provide, so it only fits to address quality and service fluctuations. Besides my most recent visit, I've always mobile-ordered on the app. Sweetgreen is usually something I get on the go to eat elsewhere, so mobile ordering is nice to avoid finding parking in an area as busy as Rittenhouse. During my most recent visit, I was with a friend. I have been so used to the seating being closed for so long that I still thought we'd have to eat elsewhere. To our surprise, the very nicely-decorated seating area in the back was open. Even though it wasn't huge, the paintings and art created a nice environment. I was also glad to see that the seating area was very clean. Since our orders were through the app, we sat down after grabbing our salads. The very coveted Sweetgreen Hot Sauce was shown to be out of stock on the mobile app. We were disappointed by this, as it is one of our favorite parts of our Sweetgreen experience. We decided to ask the employees if they happened to have it. To our pleasant surprise, the sauce was available. We grabbed a few cups and enjoyed our meals. In terms of food quality, our meals were exceptional. Everything in our bowls seemed to be properly portioned and not too skimpy. I was also happy to see that there were not any missing components in my bowl. I have run into some accuracy issues when I've mobile ordered form this location in the past. Another great part of the meal were the newly-added fall items to the menu. The Curry Cauliflower was extremely flavorful. The spicing was just perfect, and it had the perfect smoky char to make it crispy. Every ingredient tasted fresh and flavorful. Overall, this location is solid. An order history as frequent as mine can vouch for the fact that they do a decent job. Seeing that the seating is now open, in excited to dine in here again. In terms of service, the employees can sometimes be a bit more friendly. I understand that busier hours can have them overwhelmed, but the quieter times can use some service improvements. Nevertheless, this location represents the majority of Sweetgreen's company values. It'll always be a favorite spot of its own form of comfort food for me in Philly.

Yelp
Love Sweetgreen: good salads, lots of options to customize, pricey but decent portions. One thing that's not limited to this location is how uncomfortably cold it is on the inside. I had to spend an hour working there for a meeting, and my toes were blue by the end of it.
google avatar

Toni J. M.

Yelp
The food is amazing, but the employees are very rude, loud, not paying attention, mixing up orders very frequently not just of mine but of others. It's like walking into a high school cafeteria, there isn't any organization, everyone is loud and shouting. Need to improve etiquette, back in a professional manner, they just act like they do not want to be there, go about their own conversations. The only thing this place has going is the really good food.
google avatar

Joseph Y.

Yelp
This is the third time, this location always forget my chicken when add it on. By the time I get home, I release it's not in there. Every time I call about it, they tell me I should have looked before leaving and they wouldn't fix it.
google avatar

Yelp
I love sweetgreen. Eating vegetables here won't feel like a chore or obstacle. The combination of vegetables and the dressing ingredients are a tasteful delight. The workers at this location look overworked and stressed but they do a good job keeping up with the lunchtime demand. Ordering online and picking up in store is a better option. I've only had the Harvest bowl and Crispy Rice bowl about 10 times. I will try the other options very soon.

Yelp
If your a salad lover like me.. this place will have you hooked in no time! The service is quick and most staff are friendly. The place is modern with a order flow that gets you in and out! Everything is cut fresh and I can eat here daily! I had the Renee salad that is an online exclusive with baby green, spicy broccoli, red cabbage, cucumbers, cilantro, onions, cherry tomatoes, roasted tofu and avocados. The star is the spicy cashew salad dressing! No extra seasoning needed.. the tofu was seasoned so well, made me a fan for sure! All of your daily alkaline foods in one bowl

Yelp
When I lived in Philly this was my go-to Sweetgreen. My friend lived nearby and this was our favorite place to go for a quick healthy bite. I liked this location because the staff was super friendly and they always greeted us with a smile. It has a nice location where you can sit down and eat. I think I've tried everything on the menu at this point, and it's all good. I always order something seasonal and the ingredients are all locally sourced.

Emma H.

Yelp
To the guy working there today with the beard who called me pretty. If you want my number you got it ;) made a pretty good salad too

Mollie M.

Yelp
This was absolute the worst service I have experienced at a restaurant ever. I get its sweet green but come on. I ordered on their app, and my order was ready quickly. I went to pick up from the store and waited for 20 minutes with 10+ other online orders while I could visibly see my order on the counter behind the cash register. There were only 2 walk-ins. The 3 people on the line were preparing other online orders the whole time and completely ignored all the pick-up orders. We only received service when I finally Karen-ed and yelled for help. Thank you girl with AirPods for taking out a pod and finally handing me my overpriced bowl of lettuce.

Yelp
Such a classic spot. They're usually fast and nice. Ample seating spots. They're a little dirty here sometimes, but the food is always good. Personal favorites are kale Caesar and any of the warm bowls!
google avatar

Dejah D.

Yelp
First time stopping by this location, but have ordered from them on DoorDash before. Their presence on DoorDash does not reflect the items they have in house, for example the avocados have been sold out for over two months now, but they did have them when I went into the store. There's a small paid parking lot right next door or you could throw your hazards on in the loading zone for up to 15-20 minutes if you plan to takeout or dine in--I know this was the main reason I dreaded coming here is because I wasn't sure of the parking, but I was in and out with no PPA interruptions. I did visit during lunch time and it seemed to be that they were in the midst of a rush, so I ordered online as I stood in the line and my order was ready by the time I reached the register. Staff was friendly and seemed to understand the "fast food" experience as the service was really quick. Job well done!
google avatar

Dina D.

Yelp
Went there for lunch salad was okay. But the girl who waited on me was so rude, she talked so fast I had her repeat her questions about 3 times. She was so annoyed with me, I guess if your not a regular and don't know the questions they ask, your an idiot in her eyes. I would never go back.
google avatar

Aly N.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try sweet green and they didn't disappoint! The staff was very friendly and my salad was amazing. The chicken wasn't ready so I opted for chickpeas and the staff was very attentive and rushed to offer me the chicken before my salad was even assembled. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I highly recommend this location for a quick lunch, the portion sizes were great and the price was right.

Grace C.

Yelp
One of the worst delivery experiences, consistently. They put something I am allergic to and didn't order in my bowl. The dressing exploded all over the bag. So disappointed.

Christiana B.

Yelp
I love Sweetgreen, but my last 2 delivery orders have been missing huge elements. The first time it was just dressing (not a huge deal). But this time it was literally missing: bread, rice, & tofu, which I paid for. The salads have also become significantly smaller. I could only get Caviar to refund me $5, which is annoying because I ordered it as my dinner to work before a busy shift and the majority of the sustenance was missing. Would really appreciate someone contacting me to make this right.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
I have heard of this chain for over a year but it took me visiting Philly to actually try it. We did the order ahead and pick up in store option which worked out perfectly for us because we were road weary and ready to crash at our hotel. Husband had a bowl with deconstructed fish tacos in it and I had the "Shroomami" bowl which was filled with earthy mushrooms, wild rice, fresh greens and a soy dressing. We split a side of the miso root vegetables. Everything was delicious and tasted very fresh. The side of rosemary bread was just right. Tasted just baked and complemented the bowls. We are ready for one of these to pop up in Norfolk/Virginia Beach so we can try more things on the menu!!!
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
Ordered the fish taco bowl as I used to get this as my work lunch but have not in some time. The fish was about an inch thick and 5 inches long, which contrary to what some people might think, is just not enough. The bowl was 90% arugula with about 5 tortilla chips which were stale a handful of red cabbage and a small scoop of quinoa. I will say they did give a whole half an avocado, which is pretty generous however claiming this comes with a serving of steelhead trout is a laugh. Severely disappointed for $20 salad.
google avatar

Retna S.

Yelp
There is always a line during lunch time rush hour. That tells you about the quality of the food. The greens is fresh. You can have warm ingredients such as warm quinoa or brown rice. When you order warm ingredient, they will prepare it in paper bowl, but if it's just salad, it will be served in plastic bowl. There are many fillings that you can add on, my sweet potato is very tasty, the corn is really sweet. Don't expect much of the sweet potato, I got only several thin slices of it For dressing I had tahini yogurt. Very flavorful and brings some freshness to the salad. Each order comes with a nice slice of bread. Although the line is long, it moves pretty fast. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Nikki R.

Yelp
Sweetgreen is the perfect healthy work lunch. Tons of ingredients to choose from to create a salad that's crafted to your liking. I always do the custom/create-your-own option. They have a really nice bread as well, to complement your salad. I would absolutely recommend checking it out. Fresh ingredients, and a meal that you feel good about consuming.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
I effing love this place. The staff at rittenhouse location are stellar. The place is clean and the food is outstanding. Always fresh and the way you ordered it. I almost always order online and pick up. My favorites are the harvest bowl and the Caesar salads.

Amber M.

Yelp
Their good but their dressings have gotten spicer and spicer since when they first opened, to the point that it's almost inedible. I love their salads and this location is quick and efficient but definitely lighten up on the chili flakes
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Whenever I am in this area I generally try to stop at a sweetgreen because I used to be obsessed but this trip was very disappointing. I am tempted to leave a three star review, but since I know sweetgreen is generally good I bumped it up to four stars. They used to mix your bowl of salad all together with the dressing and everything in a big bowl but now they mix them in the small bowls that they give to you. The woman serving me didn't seem to listen to what I wanted and gave me very limited greens. The lids on the new bowls that they use since I've last been smoosh the salad in, so maybe that's why she didn't want to fill the bowl up but why would they use new concave lids. Wouldn't it be smarter to make it convex?? Is that the right geometry? You know what I mean - the lids smoosh the salad in when they should accommodate and welcome large portions instead. The whole convex idea just seemed to me to be a representation of the "new" and "skimpier" sweetgreen. Even the bread was smaller. Overall, I was very disappointed with my trip as compared to my previous experience with sweet green. That said I will say it is still one of the best salad spots around (hence the four stars). The different premade pairings are always creative, fresh and use in season ingredients and they still care as much about he environment as they ever did.

Yelp
Love! So fresh and there are so many options. I love a good salad bar and this place certainly exceeds my expectation every time that I go. The staff were extremely friendly and made great recommendations. The location was clean also!
google avatar

Isabelle E.

Yelp
I have never enjoyed a salad this much! Besides the frigid temp and too loud music in the store, this place is perfect. We got the make your own salad and some highlights were the sesame tofu, roasted portabello mushrooms, diced peaches, and miso dressing. This salad was super delicious with very fresh ingrediants and healthy as a bonus! I definitely recommend this place for a yummy lunch
google avatar

Nataly N.

Yelp
While this place is not perfect, it effectively strikes a very delicate balance for me in terms of quality, nutrition, price, and taste. A few cents more and I would consider it over-priced for what it is. The ingredients are just balanced enough and fresh enough for me to be willing to pay the listed price. I've been getting salads here pretty regularly, sticking with the kale caesar as my default choice. The chicken here is more tender than at most other salad places in the area, the amount of salad is very substantial, and the bread that comes with it is always fresh. The service has been pretty consistently quick and friendly. I like that you can choose how much dressing to put in. Although the line often goes all the way out the door during lunch, I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. This place mainly succeeds for me because I prefer their salads to all of the other offerings in the neighborhood. I probably wouldn't eat here every day (~$10 each day adds up quickly), but I do find it worthwhile to eat here regularly.
google avatar

Brittany S.

Yelp
O M G - the salads here are nothing short of amazing, staff is knowledgeable and cool as hell at this location. I came to Philly for a day and a half with my cousin and though she has been to a different location of sweetgreen out of state, she was equally as impressed as I was with how delicious everything was here! They have the actual veggies right behind them and chop it all up live and in person! Everything was fresh, price points are worth every penny, I had at least half the salad leftover for later because it was so much, the dressings (I tried a few of them) are delicious and though there are salad places where I live, there is definitely something very special, and sweet, about sweetgreen! A favorite of mine from now on for sure!

Yelp
Out of all the lunch places I go to over the week, Sweetgreen is a staple. Very healthy option, a lot of variety, and freshly made salad! It's a standard healthy choice for working professionals. Atmosphere: Not much inner seating (maybe 5-10 max), and long wait times (around 25 minutes) during busy weekday hours of 12-1pm. The employees can be pretty stressed out then because so many orders come in. Tip: Definitely order in advance, especially if you want to skip the wait times of 12-1pm (and if you want to avoid waiting outside in the winter - brr!). If you're aiming to put in orders for noon, I would recommend ordering on the app by ~10:30-11am. They get very busy around noon time. Also, with their app, you can accumulate rewards ($9 for every $100 spent) if you're a regular visitor! Food: Main benefit is the amount of variety! They have seasonal menus, so the ingredients will switch up too (e.g., koginut squash, peach, roasted brussel sprouts, miso ginger sauce). Some caveats - with the custom bowl, there will usually be some inconsistency in quantity of food. I almost always order custom bowls, and sometimes they're stuffed to the brim, and other times it feels like I got half a bowl. Based on your order on the app, their mixing of dressing can be a bit inconsistent too. One thing that is always consistent though - the goat cheese is always in one huge clump, never spread out (small complaint I know, but just a note)! Recommended Must-Try: The peach burrata bowl has been my favorite, generally offered in the summer. I just love burrata though! Overall: 4.5/5 - I love the customizability of the salads, and the variety of ingredients they offer! I wish they were a bit less pricey, but they'll still be a go-to healthy option for lunches (via order on their app, definitely)!

Yelp
I personally love Sweet Green! What may not be a typical experience is that I have a 6 year old Guinea Pig who loves Sweet Green's salads even more than I do! I often bring a salad home that we can share together, small pets are on plant only diets, so to Snickers, their salads are amazing! I personally order the salads where you can customize it, choose your own ingredients. I personally love a spinach and arugula base with grilled chicken, carrots, apples, sweet potatoes, cucumbers and I love the complimentary piece of bread, I also enjoy brown rice, which is delicious, like a wild rice pilaf. While some people may make multiple meals out of one of these huge salads, to me, they're a delicious and nutritious dinner. I often walk a lot of dogs as a dog walker so I often walk 16K steps! This is a healthy way to refuel and satisfy my hunger. I also enjoy the Spindrift's, those are some of my favorite low calorie refreshing beverages. I would just suggest to potential customers to note that this location does get very busy, especially at peak times such as lunch, dinner and on weekends, so you may have to wait a few minutes, but it is definitely worth it! They are in close proximity to Rittenhouse Square. They don't accept cash, which I personally don't love, I sometimes prefer to pay in cash, but that is the way that our economy is headed, cashless, so expect to be asked to use debit or credit, not cash. All in all, a very positive experience and I will return! Sweet Green has healthy and tasty options, which is great when watching my weight but wanting to have food with flavor.

Yelp
Stopped by in the afternoon for a salad to-go. Ordered the Buffalo Chicken salad with a slice of bread. Staff were friendly and service was fast. The area behind the counter where the salad toppings are located was a bit messy and could be presented better. Salad had delicious flavors, as always.

Yelp
I recently stopped into sweetgreen to get a salad, and if it weren't so expensive I would be here all the time. I had the fall seasonal apple pear and cheddar salad with chicken (for an extra cost) which came out to around $13. Not terrible, but also not great pricing for a salad. All of the ingredients were super fresh and the salad was great (definitely recommend while its still on the menu). I did take out, but there is plenty of seating at this location and it seemed very bright and clean. You can place your order online ahead of time and have it waiting for you to be picked up, or order once you get there. There are plenty of set options to pick from, or you can go down the line of ingredients and customize your own. I also appreciated that the server asked me if I wanted my dressing light, medium or heavy before mixing it in. I will be back to try different salads at sweetgreen, but the pricing will probably limit my visits!

Yelp
I saw the line out the door last week so I had to check it out. I had about 15 people in front of me but they are fully staffed so the line went quickly. I ordered the Harvest Bowl which was very tasty. My favorite items in the bowl was the wild rice, sweet potato and roasted chicken. Oh and the goat cheese was so fresh. Wish I had more side items and less kale since it was all so tasty. I really enjoyed being able to see how my food was prepared. I also like that all the food is purchased from local vendors. I ate in the store since there was plenty of seating. Seems everyone wanted to take it to go. I will definitely go back especially since I saw few other tasty menu items.. Next time I will definitely order online so it's ready when I get there.

Yelp
Oh boy. I've always avoided these types of places for fear of not getting bang for my buck/the menu strictly being farmer-massaged kale/etc. But I shouldn't have judged a book by its cover. My only complaint is that it's too far from my work to pop in and out real quick during my allotted one hour lunch (gotta love capitalism). With that said, I imagine most people who frequent here (like the guy who was ahead of me in line) go in there with a game plan and can rapid fire shout out their requested ingredients without ever needing to look up from their phone. I, on the other hand, stood there in the (thankfully) long line sweating and staring at the menu. It's not that hard, just overwhelming for a first timer. I opted for one of those preset selections, called the harvest warm bowl something or other, so I didn't have to get creative. It was about $12 or so dollars without the beverage, but worth every penny. Kale (lol), wild rice, chicken, sweet potatoes, goat cheese, apples, almonds, balsamic vinaigrette. It was very big, almost splittable into two lunches (the side bread helped) and delicious as all hell. Something about the competing textural and flavor components (soft & sharp goat cheese vs. crunchy & salty almonds vs. sweet dressing) made it all come together wonderfully. I'm kind of craving it now, actually. Took off a star for the ordering process/wait time. Although I was grateful to have more time to stew silently in line over my choice of lunch, it took quite a bit of time from coming and leaving, which sucks when you're already pressed for time on that lunch break. I'm surprised it's not like Honeygrow where there's touch screen ordering and you can customize that way. Perhaps the whole "farm to table" gambit would like to steer clear from technology, but I think it could help speed up the process.

Yelp
I LOVE sweetgreen. This is my one of my favorite spots that I hit every single week. Unfortunately, this location has given me some trouble. Although the employees are super friendly and sweet, last time I had to remind the staff member helping me of 3 ingredients in my salad up on the menu. Before that, I had to wait 15 minutes to order after my friend I came with had already paid - the people behind me stormed out because they were craving their delicious greens, too. :( That being said, COVID has been very busy and challenging for everyone and I keep coming back to get my delicious salads. Also - maybe I should've order off the app to avoid any of this at all. This one is the closest to me but unfortunately I have not had the best experiences at this location.

Yelp
This sweet green is so amazing! The staff was really sweet, and I definitely got my greens!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know what all the fuss is about... Don't get me wrong, I love a good salad, but these salads that *should* be amazing are just so-so. The single best feature is the live calorie count if you modify, and the ability to order online ahead of time for pickup at the time you select. Being able to go to a workout class and have my salad freshly made and ready to pick up on the way home was key!
google avatar

Wynelle E.

Yelp
It was very delicious with Lots of choices but I felt like for the price they were very light on the add ins. But a great place for a nice healthy fresh meal
google avatar

Kathleen D.

Yelp
When I went to pick up my salad, I realized the dressing had not been added. Four employees then proceeded to take off the salad lid with all of them touching the salad bowl. Then when I got home I realized they didn't remove the goat cheese and add feta that had been requested. For a business that focuses on salads, this was disappointing.

Yelp
This spot has really been making too many mistakes with orders. Ordered twice in the last week. The first time they forget goat cheese and almonds and bread. Then today they forgot almonds. A bit frustrating that they cant get these orders right

Yelp
~After having traveled many feet on foot through the concrete forest of Philadelphia, down the rugged trail of Chestnut St; I decided to rest & harvest a meal for lunch. I came across this 10 foot tall entrance with axe helves for door handles, & above read a sign "Sweetgreen." First Impressions: Upon entrance I find myself once again in another establishment with a rustic industrial motif...this being on the lower end. Despite the bunions I almost got from walking here, the customer service at Sweet green was very helpful regarding the 3$ off promo (once their on the line app was downloaded into my cellular device). Nothing more than a sheep-like assembly line while ordering, I chose the Zahav Bowl, which included: shredded kale, chickpeas, turmeric roasted cauliflower, roasted chicken, organic carrots, toasted almonds, dill + mint, & lemon-dill tahini dressing... At this point I compared myself to Paul Bunyan, my teeth the axe, the kale the tree, but this was no tall tale... in which I would require superhuman powers to cut into this salad composed of 95% warm kale, too many bland chick peas, underdone cauliflower, & 7 small pieces of tasteless chicken.. I had to forage through this forest to find a piece of protein, & by the time I got to the bottom of the Sweetgreen bowl my stomach felt sour red... I was hoping this to be a legendary experience, but it was nothing more than subpar "fresh" overpriced product. The Don is on the fence about approving/not approving this establishment, & may have to be back for a 2nd pleasant harvest attempt~

Yelp
A city salad that is worth it's price!! I cannot say enough about my experience at sweetgreen! Everything here is fresh and bursting of flavor, especially the roasted veggies. Two of my staples are the warm portobello mix and the hot chickpeas - they both have insane flavor and add a heartier dimension, especially to meatless salads. The bread here is also fantastic - it tastes like a soft wheat sourdough with the perfect, crispy crust. None of my salads are complete without a slice. What most surprised me about sweetgreen was the overall value - the cost of my salad was under $10 and it was extremely filling. Having such a delicious and nutritious lunch in the city for that price makes this place a gem in my book!

Yelp
If I could afford to eat here everyday I would. I back this company and their food wholeheartedly. Fresh, local and in season. Right down to the fountain drinks. This fast casual restaurant aligns with all things health & sustainability conscious. Went in for dinner and enjoyed the Winter Waldorf. Note that all salads are large enough to enjoy for two meals (so I had my leftovers for breakfast). Hearty and fresh. Quick tip regarding this location (maybe the same for others) they only take debit/credit - No Cash!

Yelp
I was super excited to try this place! But honestly it is NOT worth the price. This place is ridiculously expensive for no reason. It's just salads and toppings. I did like that they had hot toppings but still toppings. I paid like $12 for this meal. The salad was ok.... I enjoyed the array of options but the employees weren't that friendly while making my food. The taste could've been more flavorful and the bread could've been moister. Ultimately, wasn't that thrilled.

Yelp
I have to give a shout-out to the staff here. Whoever is managing here is a genius. All the employees smile at you, are efficient, happy to help, and the whole restaurant glows with the care and attention they take to their jobs. This is the best salad in town, and you can go hog-wild or lite, whatever you want, with the fresh, often organic ingredients. Tons of veggie proteins for the vedge-heads out there, and for the "I won't be full with a salad" crowd, try this. It is very big, filling, and tasty. The aroma of the space itself, along with the hip music, sets a positive tone which is taken to another level by the pleasant and top-notch staff.
